While Cleveland has struggled on the whole this season, the Cavaliers are actually 2-0 against the Hawks, and they have won four straight matchups against Atlanta dating back to the 2019-20 season. The Hawks made a mess of the last matchup, losing in maddening fashion back in February, and revenge will be on Atlanta’s mind as a result. The Cavs have the rest advantage after resting (and traveling) on Saturday, which is worth noting. However, Cleveland ranks dead-last in the NBA in offense, scoring only 104.3 points per 100 possessions, and that provides an edge for Atlanta on the defensive end.

The Pacers acquired LeVert from Brooklyn in a four-team trade that sent Victor Oladipo to Houston and James Harden to Brooklyn in mid-January, but a post-trade physical revealed a mass on LeVert's left kidney. Subsequent tests determined the mass was renal cell carcinoma and LeVert underwent surgery on Jan. 26 to remove it. No further treatment is necessary, but the surgery sidelined him for the ensuing month. They didn't let the Brooklyn loss spill over into their two-game road trip. The Phoenix Suns instead topped New Orleans in comeback fashion and destroyed short-handed Memphis in a 48-hour span to improve to 8-1 in their last nine games and avenge road losses to the Pelicans and Grizzlies. The Suns tied a franchise record Friday by hitting 22 shots from 3s in their 132-114 win at New Orleans. They also limited the Pelicans to 28.6% shooting (1-of-7 from 3) in the fourth quarter in outscoring them, 41-12, after trailing by 11 points through three quarters. The next night, Phoenix broke the single-game record for 3s with 24, but also stymied Memphis into 38.7% shooting (5-of-33 from 3) in a 128-97 blasting. It was the Suns' largest margin of victory this season.

A 16-13 record underscores what has been a mostly underwhelming season for Denver. They have struggled to find consistency, to replace Jerami Grant with Michael Porter Jr., and to rediscover their identity as a basketball team. The resilient group that fought in the regular season and playoffs over the last two seasons is probably still in there somewhere, but the Nuggets are having a difficult time tapping into that side of themselves lately.

For as imposing as they are defensively, the Suns are still a work in progress on the offensive end as evidenced by their middling 110.6 offensive rating for the season. The addition of a methodical guard like Paul has slowed down the Suns’ offense to the point where they have the second-lowest pace in the league, standing ahead of the New York Knicks. But the infusion of Paul has made the Suns that much more deliberate and orderly in where they look to find cracks in opposing defenses. One of the biggest issues over the 4-game losing streak has been the Grizzlies simply not playing for the entire game. The Pacers jumped the Grizzlies and dominated from the jump, but the other 3 games all had moments where the Grizzlies lost control for just a few minutes and it cost them the game. Against Houston, the Grizzlies were down just one possession late in the first half before they fell apart in the final minutes and found themselves down double digits. The Grizzlies were up late against the Pelicans before crumbling down the stretch in the 4th. Then, against the Raptors earlier this week, the first few minutes of the 4th did the Grizzlies in. With all the injuries on the Grizzlies roster, Jenkins is fairly limited in his rotations, but he’s got to keep his young team fresh and ready to compete for the entire game.
