Iowa State/Miami-Fla 9:59: Iowa State has been thriving on defensive pressure, creating turnovers to fuel their offense. But Miami Fla has great backcourt play and a 1.4 Asst/TO ratio (22nd nationally) with solid ball control and able to be efficient with shots. Hurricanes move the ball well and create good looks at the basket with great guard play from double digit scorers: McGusty, Wong, Moore and Miller. Iowa state has a tendency to go into shooting droughts. We'll look for seasoned coach Larranga (with a Final Four on his resume - George Mason) to guide his men to the Elite Eight.

North Carolina/UCLA 9:39: Carolina shooting lights out and confident coming off knocking off #1 seed Baylor in OT. They did, however, give up a double-digit lead after Brady Manek was ejected. NC did exhibit toughness to close it out. UCLA isn't your typical West Coast team. They play a physical brand of basketball under HC Cronin - who brought that brand of basketball from Cincinnati over a 13-year successful stint there. NC has the ballers including 6'10" rebounding machine Bacot and Caleb Love - firing up the net; however, defensively, they're not at the level of UCLA. And offensively, Tyger Campbell creating big plays down the stretch to secure wins. The Bruins need Juzang to step up his game and I think it comes here. UCLA the call.

They're getting back to establishing that elite tournament game. St. Peter's, whose tallest baller is 6'8", doesn't have the length to stop 7'4" Eday or 6'10" Trevion Williams. And big time Boilermaker's G Jaden Ivey (17.2 PPG) has elevated his game on the biggest stage. Purdue is 4-1 ATS as an NCAA Tournament favorite. We'll lay the wood.

And the Cougars deserved more. They're playing with a chip on their shoulders after given a 5 seed. They only had one double-digit loss all season and that was to Memphis to whom they later avenged in the AAC Championship. Arizona continues as a #1 seed survivor after barely beating TCU in OT in the 2nd Round. And TCU sports a good defense but offensively challenged. Houston, the #1 FG% defense in the nation, can also shoot. They have a solid offensive chemistry behind Moore, Shead and Edwards. Cats 0-4 ATS as an NCAA Tournament favorite and we're fading them here. Houston the call.

The #1 offense in the NBA led by Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards should be able to outscore the Suns on this floor. Suns' Chris Paul, who is out with a broken thumb, came up big with 21 points in both wins against Minnesota this season. Xavier, dealing with the departure of their HC Steele - did well under interim HC Hayes, who is keeping bench warm until the return of former Xavier head coach Sean Miller. Unfortunately, it cost the Blue Jays their significant inside presence with Kalkbrenner (knee). The Blue Jays are already without key facilitator Nembhard (Feb 23rd). North Carolina looked like a world beater Thursday in their blowout vs Marquette. Manek was unstoppable (28 points / 5 of 10 from 3-point land). Baylor's HC Drew usually takes away the strength of an offense and Manek and Bascot will be a challenge. However, NC defense still a question mark despite strong performance vs Marquette. We'll look for the rhythmic Bear offense to deliver. Tar Heels do not play the tournament dog role well (0-6 ATS). Xavier is 0-8 ATS off a SU win, 0-4 ATS as a neutral favorite. On the other hand, Butler is on an 0-5 SU slide; however, they're 5-1 ATS off a SU loss and 9-3 ATS as a dog. They're not an easy out. Sure, Xavier swept them in the regular season; however, the Bulldogs were swept last year by the Musketeers and ended up winning the Big East Tournament First Round in OT after Xavier squandered a 19-point first half lead. A healthy Aarron Thompson gives Butler a fighting chance here. Take Butler.

NC State/Clemson 4:30: These teams are trending in opposite directions coming into this one. Clemson closed on a 4-0 SU/3-1 ATS roll while the Wolfpack plummeted to an 0-4 SU/ATS slide; as a matter of fact, the Wolfpack lost 9 of their last 10 games. Surely that is no way to go into a conference tournament. Wolfpack hasn't displayed a disciplined defense virtually all season. They're in the bottom tier of virtually every statistical category including allowing a generous 47.4% from the field. Clemson offense not prolific but they clamp down defensively and are more equipped to deliver on a neutral floor in this ACC Tournament. Tigers 4-1 ATS as a neutral favorite and we'll roll with them.

Jazz/Mavericks 8:40: Dallas should have Doncic (toe) back for this one. He sat out Saturday vs Sacramento. Fortunately, the Mavericks snuck by. And Dinwiddie, who was a huge pickup from Washington recently, has been nothing short of outstanding since coming over. Saturday, Dinwiddie dropped 36 on Sacramento before Finney-Smith sealed the win with a last second 3 pointer. Dallas covered 3 straight in this series including February 25th - 114-109 SU loss but cover (+6') at Utah. Utah has their own concerns. They're playing in their 4th game this month - all on road. They may be road weary since their last home game was that February 25th win over Dallas. Jazz has Conley struggling with a knee injury too. More pressure on Bogdanovic and Mitchell to perform. Jazz, off win at OKC yesterday, just 1-4 ATS unrested, 2-8-1 ATS as a road dog, and 3-8-1 ATS in Dallas. We'll grab the Mavericks.

Memphis had a horrific stretch in late November and December when they last 4 of 5 games; however, they've come on strong lately; as a matter of fact, they've won 9 of their last 10 games and put themselves on the bubble with even a possible chance of getting an at-large bid with a win here and a few wins in the conference tournament. Houston, on the other hand, is rolling with double digit wins in their last 4 games; however, they've had a long stretch of games including 4 games in 8 days and they're not the deepest team. Duke/Clemson 8:00: Duke is coming off an underachieving performance loss as an 11-point home favorite at Cameron vs Virginia. Coach K has made a career bouncing back off losses, including 4-0 ATS this season in that role. We'll look for the Duke team that showed up at UNC February 5th. Fr Banchero coming off a season low (9 points) vs Cavs, he'll need to step up and should. Clemson, which is offensively challenged down the stretch in games, won't have 6'8" Hunter Tyson's double digit scoring and 5.6 RPG; after all, he's recovering from broken clavicle. Duke gave up an amazing 52 points in the paint vs Virginia. Coach K will surely stress limiting Clemson's low post production and Duke should dominate the glass. It's the Duke way. We'll lay the points on the road with Duke.

Georgia/Florida 6:30: Georgia is the bottom feeder of the SEC while Florida is tied for 5th in the conference. We get pretty good value with them this time of year. Florida on a satisfying 3-0 run completing a regular season sweep over Missouri in OT. Georgia starting to get competitive on a 3-1 ATS run, including an outright upset at home vs Alabama on the 25th and missing out on monumental upset over then #1 Auburn by a last second half court miss. A moral victory for the Bulldogs as they go into this one with confidence. With the road team 10-1 ATS in this series, we'll take the generous number of points.

Oklahoma State/TCU 7:00: Cowboys coming off huge win over intra-state rival Oklahoma on Saturday. Meanwhile, TCU off an underachieving performance at home vs KSU. Jamie Dixon should have his Horned Frogs fired up for this one; after all, they're looking to avenge January 19th one point road loss. Cowboys just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road tilts. We'll lay the trey with TCU.

Marquette/U Conn 6:30: Golden Eagles gelled with a blend of portal transfers and jucos. HC Smart is doing a solid job playing to their strengths; as a result, they're on a 9-0 ATS run. They're looking to avenge the December 21st loss at home. That was during a rough 4 game stretch from Dec 11th through January 1st. Marquette has gotten it together since and should continue to be competitive here catching U Conn on an 0-3 ATS / 1-3 SU slide. With Marquette 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games and the road team 7-2 ATS in this series, Marquette the call.

Kansas/Texas 9:00: Two coaching heavyweights go at it tonight: Self vs Beard. We'll give the edge to Bill Self's Jayhawks which are a bit ahead of the curve at this time of season. Beard has shaped his team into the fierce defensive stop unit he was accustomed to doing while at Texas Tech. Only problem is that Longhorns foul a bit too much - 206th nationally sending opposition to free throw line. Consequently, Kansas should be in an attacking mode to the rim tonight. Texas is at its best when they can control pace of game and choke teams out with stifling defensive pressure; after all, they're 17-0 SU when holding opponents to 60 points or less. Kansas has a Top 20 offense. Agbaji, Braun and Wilson starting to find a nice rhythm this time of year and difficult to contain for 40 minutes. On the other hand, Kansas defense looked good the last two games and I don't see a letdown tonight. Kansas protecting the ball well and have good veteran floor leadership. Texas offense, 68.2 PPG - 256th nationally, can be painfully stagnant at times. Jayhawks 14-6 ATS on the road vs a team with a home winning % above .600. We'll grab the Jayhawks here.

Houston/Cincinnati 6:00: Bearcats remain a decent defensive team under HC Miller but lack rhythm offensively, especially down stretch of close, competitive games. Bearcats just 3-9 ATS at home vs teams with a winning % above .600. Houston Cougars well balanced under HC Sampson. They'll lock you down (#1 defense in FG%) and have good flow to their offense despite season ending injuries to their stars Sasser and Mark. Houston has covered 8 of last 9 in this series and I'm not jumping off board here. Cougars 18-7 ATS on Sundays, and 8-3 ATS vs teams with a home winning % above.600. Houston the call.
