04-05-16 | Red Sox v. Indians -108 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -108 | 4 h 31 m | Show |
Boston at Cleveland 4:10 ET Indians over Red Sox- There is no question the Red Sox have up-graded their talent this season and will be starting their newest free agent David Price. I like Boston this season I really do but with David Price who went 9-1 with 2.30 ERA in his last 11 starts to close the year with the Blue Jays. Cleveland's Corey Klubler the 2014 Cy Young Award winner is looking to bounce back from his jinx season (9-16, 3.49 ERA) as he headed the AL's second leading staff with an ERA of 3.67. The Indians have won six of the last seven meetings and get this one too. Take CLEVELAND! |
11-01-15 | Royals v. Mets -137 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -137 | 11 h 34 m | Show |
Kansas City at New York Mets 8:00 ET Mets over Royals- The Mets put on another horrible display of baseball last night and their pride is taking a beating. Tonight they send the 'Dark Knight' in Matt Harvey to the hill who is 2-0 in the playoffs against Edinson Volquez who is 1-2 with a 4.37 ERA. We are aware of Volquez's heartache and understand that he has had an emotional five days. This will be a bit much for him to overcome at this level. New York will be at their best tonight. The Series goes back to Kansas City for Game 6. Take the METS! |
10-23-15 | Toronto Blue Jays -126 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -126 | 27 h 45 m | Show |
Toronto at Kansas City 8:00 ET Blue Jays over Royals- There will be no bigger moment of truth for David Price then when he takes the mound Friday night in Kansas City. Price who has been one of the more dominate pitchers during the regular season but has yet to win as a starter in the post-season and is currently 0-7 in that roll. His ERA this post-season is 7.02 allowing 10 runs in 13.2 innings. His mound opponent in Game 6 Yordano Ventura hasn't been much better at 0-1 with a 6.57 ERA allowing three runs on eight hits in Game 2 of this series to Toronto. This difference here is the Blue Jays bats are more explosive and will produce more runs tonight. Take TORONTO! |
10-21-15 | New York Mets v. Chicago Cubs -112 | Top | 8-3 | Loss | -112 | 10 h 17 m | Show |
New York Mets at Chicago Cubs 8:00 ET Cubs over Mets- The Cubs who beat the Mets in all seven regular season meetings this year have yet to crack the youthful New York pitching in the post-season. Chicago has managed just five runs in their three losses but must find a way to quiet Daniel Murphy's bat. Murphy has homered in five straight post-season games to join a list with Lou Gehrig. The Mets are one win away from their first World Series since 2000 and might that final win a bit more difficult to come by. Take CHICAGO! |
10-17-15 | Chicago Cubs v. New York Mets -113 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 16 h 9 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at New York Mets 8:00 ET Mets over Cubs- So the 'Dark Knight' has decided that he can grace New York with his presence and take the hill in Game One against the Cubs. Chicago last appeared in the World Series in 1945 and last won it in 1908 and has a core of young hitting talent. New York on the other hand has a core of young pitchers much like the Mets World Champions of 1969. Windy City shortstop Addision Russell will miss the entire series with a hamstring injury and his loss with have an impact. Jon Lester will put down his beer to get tonight's start but it won't matter tonight. Take NEW YORK! |
10-16-15 | Toronto Blue Jays v. Kansas City Royals +117 | Top | 0-5 | Win | 117 | 10 h 26 m | Show |
Toronto at Kansas City 7:30 ET Royals over Blue Jays- After the dramatics in Game 5 and over-coming a 0-2 deficit the Toronto Blue Jays are heavily favored over the Royals even in Kansas City. The defending AL Champs beat out the Jays for home field advantage by one game even though Toronto led the American League (and Majors) in runs scored while the Royals were 14th in home runs. Kansas City will do it with pitching particularity if they can keep it close and use their bullpen. The numbers for their starter Edison Volquez are not good as he is 0-3 with an 8.76 ERA in three post season starts and 0-4 with a 6.76 ERA in six career starts against Toronto. But, there is a reason that he's getting the starts tonight and I expect him to do well. Take KANSAS CITY! |
10-09-15 | Chicago Cubs v. St. Louis Cardinals -106 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
Chicago at St. Louis 6:30 ET Cardinals over Cubs- Amazing these two of biggest rivals have never met in post-season play. Mostly because the Cubs have never expect on rare occasion been there. With Chicago's win Wednesday these two have 198 victories between them and St. Louis has is 11-7 this season but the Cubs have won six of the last nine. Chicago starts Jon Lester (11-12, 3.34 ERA) who surrendered four runs in six innings his last outing against the Cardinals. John Lackey (13-10, 2.77) who is 7-5 in post-season action was 9-4 with a 1.93 ERA at home. Take ST. LOUIS! |
10-07-15 | Chicago Cubs v. Pittsburgh Pirates +124 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -100 | 35 h 58 m | Show |
N.L. Wild Card Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh 8:00 ET Pirates over Cubs- These two clubs have both had their best season in years and ended just one-game apart in the standings with the Pirates winning out for the home field. This is the third straight year that the Pirates are in the N.L. Wild Card game and I believe that experience accounts for something as does the home filed where Pittsburgh is 53-28 on the season. Granted the Cubs will start Jake Arrieta (22-6, 1.77 ERA) who has been phenomenal the second half going 12-1 with a 0.75 ERA and has allowed just six hits and only one walk while striking out 27 in his last 22 innings and is 6-1 lifetime against the Pirates. Pittsburgh starter Gerrit Cole (19-8, 2.60) has won his last three starts and is 7-1 with a 2.88 ERA lifetime against the Cubs with 32 strike outs in just 25 2/3 innings this season. Take PITTSBURGH! |
09-26-15 | Seattle Mariners -104 v. Los Angeles Angels | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -104 | 11 h 53 m | Show |
Seattle at L.A. Angels 9:05 ET Mariners over Angels- The Los Angeles Angles are just a half-game behind the Astros for the second AL Wild Card spot as Houston continues to sink on a daily basis. The problem for them tonight is that they are facing 'King' Felix Hernandez (18-9, 3.54 ERA) who is 3-1 with a 1.59 ERA against them this season. Hernandez who won his Cy Young with only 12 victories has never won 20 game in a season and needs to win here and his final start to accomplish that goal. He is 14-14 with a 3.31 ERA in 45 career starts against the Angels and gets the win here. Take SEATTLE! |
09-25-15 | Cleveland Indians -110 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Cleveland at Kansas City 8:10 ET Indians over Royals- The Kansas City Royals should have a bit of a hang-over after clinching the American League Central Division yesterday with their win over Seattle. The Indians helped them along by defeating the Twins but all the news is not good as they lost closer Greg Holland for the rest of the season. Carlos Carrasco (13-11, 3.62 ERA) has been excellent on the road with an 8-4 record with a 2.73 ERA a 0.92 WHIP and an AL-low .191 batting average against. Edinson Volquez (13-8, 3.62 ERA) starts for the Royals and has had problems against Cleveland with a 2-3 lifetime mark with an ERA of 8.88. Take the INDIANS! |
09-24-15 | Baltimore Orioles v. Washington Nationals -139 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -139 | 6 h 32 m | Show |
Baltimore at Washington 4:05 ET Nationals over Orioles- The National looked like they were ready for one last push to catch the first place Mets by winning seven of eight until the Orioles derailed them by taking the first two games of this three-game set. With 11 games to play Washington trails New York by six games in the loss column and finish the season with three games in New York. Baltimore is now 31-46 on the road while the Nationals are 44-32 at home despite those last two losses. The O's were eliminated from the AL playoffs yesterday and will not have the same spunk today. Take WASHINGTON! |
09-23-15 | Cleveland Indians -126 v. Minnesota Twins | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -126 | 10 h 8 m | Show |
Cleveland at Minnesota 8:10 ET Indians over Twins- Minnesota who is 3-5 in their current 10-game home stand won the opener of a three-game set against the Indians. Still, the Twins have moved within two games of the Astros for the second AL Wild Card berth and will start Phil Hughes (10-9, 4.58) who is 5-3 lifetime against Cleveland. The Indians will start last years' Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber (8-14, 3.44) who is winless in his last four starts last beating these same Minnesota Twins in mid August. He is 6-2 lifetime against them and I see that number improving tonight. Take CLEVELAND! |

St. Louis at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Cubs over Cardinals- the Cubs have their 'mojo' working as they have won five straight and 12 of their last 16 as they have pulled to within one-game of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the home game in the single Wild Card playoff. Jon Lester (10-10. 3.38 ERA) has a 0.87 WHIP in his last five starts and a 1.78 ERA against St. Louis this season. Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez (13-7, 3.02) has been outstanding but has a lifetime ERA of 5.04 against Chicago. Take the CUBS! |
09-19-15 | Baltimore Orioles -105 v. Tampa Bay Rays | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
Baltimore at Tampa Bay 6:10 ET Orioles over Rays- The Orioles blew a chance to move with 3.5 games of a wild card berth by blowing the e-run lead yesterday to Tampa Bay but has still won 7-of-10. The Rays are just 3-5 on their current homestand and are 5.5 back with 15 games left to play. Baltimore's Wei-Yin Chen (9-7, 3.44 ERA) is 5-1 in his last 10 starts but is 4-6 lifetime against the Rays. Erasmo Ramiez (10-5, 3.75) gets the nod after a great outing against the Yankees last time on the hill and is 2-1 against Baltimore. But before that had a terrible four-game stretch giving up 15 runs in 20.1 innings. Take BALTIMORE! |
09-18-15 | Kansas City Royals v. Detroit Tigers -104 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 59 m | Show |
Kansas City at Detroit 7:10 ET Tigers over Royals- The Royals have been sleep-walking through the AL the past four weeks and currently have lost nine of their last 13. The Tigers meanwhile who were expected to contend for the division have never been in contention. Justin Verlander (3-8, 3.58 ERA) has dropped his last two starts but Kansas City might be his answer as he is 20-8 lifetime against them and will be facing Johnny Cueto (9-12, 3.47) who has lost his last five starts with an ERA of 9.57 ERA. Take DETROIT! |
09-17-15 | Houston Astros -104 v. Texas Rangers | Top | 2-8 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
Houston at Texas 8:05 ET Astros over Rangers- The Houston Astros have led the AL West the entire season and now after a Rangers serge and Astros deflation Houston finds themselves on the brink of missing the playoffs entirely. Texas has overtaken Houston by winning 14 of 20 while the Astros have won just three-of-seven and are 8-19 on the road since the All-Star break. Lance mcCullers (5-5, 3.10 ERA) is winless in his last five starts and is 0-1 against Texas this season. The Rangers are starting Colby Lewis (15-8, 4.45) who is 8-1 lifetime against Houston but is a small home favorite tonight. It appears the odd-makers believe the Astros can win here. Take HOUSTON! |
09-16-15 | Kansas City Royals v. Cleveland Indians -128 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Kansas City at Cleveland 7:10 ET Indians over Royals- The Royals 2-0 win yesterday was only their third in 11 games while the Indians loss was only their sixth in their last 19 games. Cleveland will start Danny Salazar (3.57 ERA) who has split two decisions against Kansas City this season is 3-4 lifetime while Royals starter Danny Duffy (7-7, 4.14) who has not made it through six innings in five of his last six starts and is 2-2 lifetime against Cleveland. Take the INDIANS! |

Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Pirates over Cubs- These two contenders play a double-header today so make sure you have the right starters. The Pirates are still fighting to catch the Cardinals in the NL Central as they have moved to withing 2.5 games of the division leader having won four of their last five. Chicago's Jon Lester (9-10, 3.50 ERA) is 1-0 versus Pittsburgh this season with a 1.29 ERA will be facing the hottest of Pirates pitchers in J.A. Happ (9-7, 3.87) who is 5-0 in his last five starts with a 0.88 ERA but his only loss since coming over from Seattle was a loss in his first start to the Cubs. Happ gains his revenge here. Take CLEVELAND. |

Toronto at New York Yankees 1:05 ET Yankees over Blue Jays- The Yankees have fallen to 3-6 on their home stand and have lost five-in-a-row while the surging Blue Jays have won 16 of their last 21. Toronto's R.A. Dickey (10-10, 4.01 ERA) has not lost since July 9th and has gone 8-0 in his last 10 starts and is one of the reasons the Jays have moved 4-and-a-half games ahead of the Yanks in the AL East. He is 7-3 lifetime against New York including 1-0 with a 1.27 ERA in three starts this season. The Yankees Masahiro Tanaka (11-6, 3.57) gets the nod and has held Toronto's power lineup to a .191 batting average in three starts this season. A surprise here as New York pulls this one out. Take the YANKEES! |

The Astros are just 1-3 on their current 10-game road trip and will be starting Lance McCullers (5-5, 3.07 ERA) who is just 1-5 with a 5.09 ERA on the road against Hector Santiago (8-9, 3.24) who was 0-4 with a 6.21 ERA in August and is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in seven appearances against Houston. This time the Astros blast-off and get the win. Take HOUSTON! |
09-12-15 | Boston Red Sox -104 v. Tampa Bay Rays | Top | 10-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show |
Boston at Tampa Bay 6:10 ET Red Sox over Rays- Boston's Rick Porcello (7-12, 5.12 ERA) has been the Red Sox biggest free agent bust of 2015 but has shown some of what the Red Sox want to see since coming off the disabled list. In his last three starts he is 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA with his last outing a win over the first place Blue Jays. Tampa Bay's Matt Moore (1-3, 8.04) is another hurler who did not meet expectations and has returned from the minors after his Tommy John surgery. Boston has picked-up their pace of play the past month and are the side once again. Take the RED SOX! |
09-10-15 | Texas Rangers +108 v. Seattle Mariners | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
Texas at Seattle 3:40 ET Rangers over Mariners- Great pitching match-up in Seattle as the Mariners send 'King Felix' Hernandez 16-8, 3.65 ERA) to the hill against the Rangers' Derek Holland (3-1, 2.37). Holland has been outstanding in his last two starts allowing just six hits and one run over 17 innings is and a stellar 10-2 lifetime against Seattle with a 2.94 ERA. Hernandez's numbers against Texas are his worst against any AL team as he is just 15-21 lifetime despite being 3-0 this season. I can't buck these trends. Take TEXAS! |
09-09-15 | Atlanta Braves -113 v. Philadelphia Phillies | Top | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Braves over Phillies- The Philadelphia Phillies can no longer be considered the worst team in baseball as they have risen into a bottom of the heap tie with the Atlanta Braves. This despite the Phillies losing seven of their last 10 but the Braves manged to win just one of their last 10 and 20 of their last 22 including 14 of 15 on the road. So why should Atlanta be made the favorite here? Julio Teheran (9-7, 4.51 ERA) is 5-3 with a 2.56 ERA against the Phillies while David Buchanan (2-7, 9.00) who's last win came against the Braves on July 31 was sent back to Triple-A on August 11. Take ATLANTA! |

Houston at Oakland 10:05 ET A's over Astros- The first place Astros opened a crucial 10-game road trip with a loss to the A's yesterday 10-9 and now will start former A's Scott Kazmir (7-9, 2.50 ERA) who is 10-6 lifetime against Oakland. This is the first time they will face Kazmir since he was traded to the Astros and he will face ace Sonny Gray (12-7, 2.36) who is 3-2 lifetime against Houston. The Astros have dominated the opposition at home playing 24 games about .500 while going 12 under on the road. Take OAKLAND! |
09-07-15 | San Francisco Giants v. Arizona Diamondbacks -110 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 16 h 12 m | Show |
San Francisco at Arizona 4:10 ET Diamondbacks over Giants- The Giants may have won yesterday's game against the Rockies but Madison Bumgarner can't pitch every day as they have lost nine of their last 12 on the road and they just are too beat-up to make a legitimate run for the playoffs. They are 5-17 in their last 22 as a rod underdog and Mike Leake (9-7, 3.49 ERA) who starts this afternoon for San Francisco is 0-2 in four starts since being traded to the bay area from Cincinnati. Patrick Corbin (4-3, 3.67) Arizona's starter is 3-0 in his last seven starts and has six quality starts in his last eight outings and the Diamondbacks are 16-5 in Corbin's last 21 starts as a favorite. Take ARIZONA! |
09-05-15 | Texas Rangers v. Los Angeles Angels +100 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
Texas at L.A. Angels 9:05 ET Angels over Rangers- Los Angeles came through for 'us' last night with a 'Money Game winner and I expect more of the same tonight as the Angels closed the gap to 2½ games on the Rangers as they posted their third straight win. That was just the fourth loss in 13 games for Texas. Derek Holland (2-1, 2.82 ERA) this year and has made only nine starts the last two season and is 7-6 with a 5.88 ERA lifetime against Los Angeles. The Angels will send Jered Weaver (6-10, 4.94) who has had better years to the mound but is 15-8 with a 3.55 ERA in 35 career starts against Texas. Take the ANGELS! |
09-04-15 | San Francisco Giants v. Colorado Rockies -104 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 30 m | Show |
San Francisco at Colorado 8:40 ET Rockies over Giants- The World Champion San Francisco Giants are playing their way out of contention as they have dropped six straight and trail the Dodgers by 6.5 games and the Cubs by seven games for the second NL Wild Card spot. Add that Tim Lincecum is out for the remainder of the season and the outlook for them appears bleak. Chris (no-hit) Heston (11-8, 3.56 ERA) is winless in his last five starts and is 1-2 against the Rockies picking up a win in May despite surrendering six runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 in.t the Giants. 'Stick-a-fork' in San Francisco they are done. Take COLORADO! |
09-02-15 | Washington Nationals +106 v. St. Louis Cardinals | Top | 4-3 | Win | 106 | 10 h 13 m | Show |
Washington at St. Louis 8:15 ET Nationals over Cardinals- The Washington Nationals must come up with something big soon and tonight has to be the start of it or they are abut done as the Mets run away in the NL East. St. Louis just continues to beat the drum and all opponents as they have won four in-a-row and nine of their last 10. Max Scherzer (11-11, 2.88 ERA) had one of the most dominating stretches in pitching history in July was 0-3 in August going 0-3 with a 6.43 ERA. On the other side of the coin the Cardinals Michael Wacha (15-4, 2.69) has won four straight decisions with seven straight quality starts. Still, this game just means too much for the Nationals. Take WASHINGTON! |

L.A. Angels at Oakland 10:05 ET Angels over A's- The Angles have now dropped four straight while the Oakland A's have won their last three including an 11-5 victory over Los Angeles last night. Still, the angels are just 3.5 games behind Texas for the second AL wild-card spot and will be starting Matt Shoemaker (6-9, 4.48 ERA) who has struggled against Oakland going 0-2 giving up 17 runs in 18.1 innings to a team that has difficulty scoring runs. Cody Martin (2-3, 5.40) is making his first start after being recalled from Triple-A as all his work have been with the Atlanta Braves as he has appeared in relief 21 times. This start is just not going to work out tonight. Take the ANGELS! |

New York Yankees at Boston 7:10 ET Red Sox over Yankees- The Yankees managed to score 20 runs for the second time this season and will face the Red Sox in Boston who they play 13 times more before the season ends. The Sox although still in the AL East cellar have improved with an influx of players brought up through their farm system as they have managed to win or tied their last five series and are off winning 2-of-3 against the Mets in New York. Ivan Nova (5-6, 4.50 ERA) who has lost his last two starts gets the nod for New York and he is an unimpressive 3-4 with a 5.05 ERA against Boston. The Red Sox will start Eduardo Rodriguez (7-5, 4.39) who post a win over the Yankees earlier this season. Take BOSTON! |

Tampa Bay will start Jake Odorizzi (6-6, 3.02) who is winless in his last five starts and is 0-2 with a 6.91 ERA lifetime against Kansas City. Despite those numbers the Rays are the side today. Texas at Detroit 7:10 ET Rangers over Tigers- With the return of Micheal Cabrera the Tigers offense once again looks threatening as they post 15 runs against the Cubs last night and 25 in their two game sweep. Texas meanwhile has won six of seven and has the AL second Wold Card spot in its sights as they closed out a 5-1 home stand. The Rangers Martin Perez (1-2, 5.29 ERA) has put together three straight quality starts and has been a shot in the arm to Texas since returning to the rotation. The Tigers will start Alfredo Simon (10-7, 4.84) is going in the opposite direction as he has allowed four runs or more in nine of his last 10 starts including 21 runs and 36 hits in his last 24.1 innings at home. These guys have scored 15, 22 and 8 runs in their last three games winning two of three against Seattle getting 60 hits. Meanwhile, Cleveland has scored just one run in each of their past two games and are at the bottom of the AL Central while the Red Sox are bringing up the bottom in the AL East. Danny Salazar (10-6, 3.26 ERA) will start on the mound for the Indians and he has put together six straight quality starts and has allowed one or no earned runs in each of his last three starts. Matt Barnes (3-2, 5.64) has allowed 12 runs (10 earned) in 6.2 innings at Fenway Park this season. Take CLEVELAND! |
08-15-15 | Seattle Mariners -136 v. Boston Red Sox | Top | 10-22 | Loss | -136 | 6 h 52 m | Show |

08-14-15 | Arizona Diamondbacks -120 v. Atlanta Braves | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -120 | 12 h 35 m | Show |
Arizona at Atlanta 7:35 ET Diamondbacks over Braves- The Diamondbacks who many during the spring thought to be the worst team in the NL has moved to within one-game of .500 this week as they scored 32 runs in a 3-game series at Philadelphia. The Braves have lost three straight and are eight-game under .500 will start Julio Teheran (7-6, 4.57 ERA) who is 2-1 with a 2.35 ERA in four career starts against Arizona. The Diamondbacks will start Robbie Ray (3-7, 3.13) and it seems odd that he would be favored on the road here. This is his first appearance against Atlanta but he is 3-3 with a 2.18 ERA on the road. Take the DIAMONBACKS! |
08-13-15 | Los Angeles Angels -109 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 7-6 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Kansas City 8:10 ET Angels over Royals- The Royals have been just about unbeatable at home and suffered a rare setback at Kauffman Stadium when the most reliable closing staff in the 'bigs' faltered in the eight and ninth innings. If seems a bit 'off' that they Angels would open the favorite here as Kansas City is 39-19 at home even with Garrett Richards (11-9, 3.51 ERA) who has lost three of his last four starts. The Royals are starting their 'weak' link in Jeremy Guthrie (8-7, 5.84) who is 1-2 in his last three starts allowing 18 runs in 18 innings on 31 hits. Take LOS ANGELES! |
08-12-15 | New York Yankees v. Cleveland Indians -127 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 32 m | Show |

Tonight they start CC Sabathia (4-8, 5.34 ERA) who is 4-1 with a 2.94 ERA lifetime against his former clubs. CC is having his worst career season as he pitched past the sixth inning just once in his 13 starts this year, The Indians will send Danny Salazar (9-6, 3.38) to the mound who is making his first career start against the Yankees. He has allowed only six earned runs in four starts since the All-Star break and will subdue the struggling Yankees' bats. Take CLEVELAND! |
08-09-15 | Los Angeles Dodgers -108 v. Pittsburgh Pirates | Top | 6-13 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 32 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Pittsburgh 8:10 ET Dodgers over Pirates- The first-place Dodgers will start Alex Wood (7-7, 3.65 ERA) when the received from the Atlanta Braves in this important Sunday night showdown in Pittsburgh. Wood while with the Braves went 1-2 with a 2.57 ERA in five career games against Pittsburgh with a 1.26 ERA at PNC Park. Charlie Morton (7-4, 4.19) who won his first six decisions this season is off his best start of the year pitching seven scoreless innings with no walks against the Reds last Sunday. Still, this contest belongs to the Dodgers. Take LOS ANGELES! |
08-08-15 | Miami Marlins -115 v. Atlanta Braves | Top | 2-7 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
Miami at Atlanta 7:10 ET Marlins over Braves- The Miami Marlins were expected to contend in the NL this season and now find themselves 24 games under .500 after dropping their fifth straight and 12 of their past 14 last night. The Marlins and Braves has net 11 times this season with Atlanta capturing nine wins but will be facing hard throwing Tom Koehler (8-8, 3.71 ERA) who has a 2.98 ERA lifetime against Atlanta in 12 career appearances. Mike Foltynewicz (3-3, 5.40) gets the nod for the Braves and has a 5.97 ERA at home. And after all that the Marlins come up favored by the odds-makers. This time it's MIAMI! |
08-07-15 | Los Angeles Dodgers -140 v. Pittsburgh Pirates | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -140 | 12 h 13 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Dodgers over Pirates- A pair of pitching leaders square off in Pittsburgh where the Major League leaders in wins Gerrit Cole (14-5, 2.29 ERA) faces the MLB strike out leader (192) Clayton Kershaw (9-6, 2.37). Kershaw has three Cy Young Awards and an MVP and has won four straight while allowing zero runs on 16 hits with 45 strikeouts and only one walk in his last 34 innings of work. Cole on the other hand is 9-3 in his last 13 starts and has allowed more then three runs only once in 21 starts this season. The Kershaw 'numbers' are just too impressive to ignore. Take the DODGERS! |
08-03-15 | Cleveland Indians +111 v. Los Angeles Angels | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 47 m | Show |
Cleveland at L.A. Angels 10:05 ET Indians over Angels- The powerful Angels lineup has gone in a funk this past week as they have scored just 15 runs during their current six-game losing streak as they have fallen four games behind division leading Houston. Cleveland hasn't been much better losing eight of their last 11 and remain in last place in the AL Central. The Indians Corey Kluber (6-11, 3.44 ERA) showed some of his Cy Young Award winning form last time out as he tossed his second career complete game against Kansas City allowing just one run last Wednesday. Take the INDIANS! |
08-02-15 | Kansas City Royals v. Toronto Blue Jays -125 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 7 m | Show |
Kansas City at Toronto 1:05 ET Blue Jays over Royals- The two most active clubs before the trade deadline passed were the Royals and Blue Jays who have picked up pitching and hitting in their multiple transactions. This 'price' looks a little heavy to me on Toronto's side when you consider Kansas City is starting Edinson Volquez (10-5, 3.21 ERA) against the Blue Jays R.A. Dickey (5-10, 4.27). When I see Volquez is 0-3 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts against Toronto I understand the odds makers reasoning. Dickey's record isn't attractive but he has surrendered three runs or fewer in 10 of his last 11 outings. Look for the Jays to bounce back from Saturday loss. Take TORONTO! |
08-01-15 | Kansas City Royals +122 v. Toronto Blue Jays | Top | 7-6 | Win | 122 | 5 h 1 m | Show |
Kansas City at Toronto 1:35 ET Royals over Blue Jays- A pair of three's surround this game as the Royals with the best record in the AL have dropped three straight and the Blue Jays have won three in-a-row for the first time since their 11-game win streak in early June. It appears that hard throwing Yordano Ventura (5-7, 4.86 ERA) has regained his form as he turned in his best effort in two months against Houston his last time out. He will be up against veteran Mark Buehrle (11-5, 3.29) who has dominated the Royals in his career going 26-12 with a 3.53 ERA in 53 starts. Despite these impressive numbers the Royals are set to bounce-back here. Take KANSAS CITY! |
07-31-15 | Chicago Cubs v. Milwaukee Brewers -106 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -106 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- The Brewers who have dropped seven of nine since a four-game winning streak to start the second half may be playing short-handed as they are selling talent off before the trade deadline (today at 4pm ET). Taylor Jungmann (5-2, 2.14 ERA) part of the young talent that the Brewers are keeping has had five straight quality starts and is 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA at home. To counter him the Cubs will start Jason Hammel (5-5, 3.20) who is 6-0 against Milwaukee including a 4-0 and 1.60 ERA at Miller Park. This time it's the BREWERS! |
07-30-15 | Cleveland Indians -129 v. Oakland A's | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 14 h 14 m | Show |
Cleveland at Oakland 10:05 ET Indians over A's- Two of the AL's most disappointing clubs square off in the opener of a four-game series in Oakland as the A's host the Indians. Cleveland finally broke through with a win yesterday over the Royals after six straight home losses where they were outscored 37-10 as they came out with a season high 18 hits. Tonight the Tribe starts Carlos Carrasco (10-8, 4.26 ERA) who is winless in his last four starts with an ERA of 6.00 and has no career decisions against Oakland. The A's have a major league high 49 errors on the left-side of their infield and lead the 'Bigs' in one-run losses. Take CLEVELAND! |
07-28-15 | New York Yankees v. Texas Rangers +105 | Top | 21-5 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 22 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Yankees- Texas had pulled to with three-games of the division leading Twins but have dropped their past two games and now trail Minnesota by five games for the second wild card spot. Meanwhile, the Yankees are making mincemeat of the AL East as they have won 12 of their last 15 but will be starting their weak link Chris Capuano (0-4, 5.64 ERA) who is 0-2 lifetime against the Rangers who will start left-hander Martin Perez (0-1, 4.91). Capuano is 0-3 with an ERA of 6.39 as a starter this season. This time it's TEXAS! |
07-27-15 | Kansas City Royals v. Cleveland Indians -105 | Top | 9-4 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 3 m | Show |
Kansas City at Cleveland 7:10 ET Indians over Royals- The Cleveland Indians are bringing up the rear in the AL Central 14 games behind the Royals as they were just swept at home in a four-game series by the White Sox. And yet Vegas makes them a small favorite in the opener of their series against Kansas City. Edinson Volquez (9-5, 3.15 ERA) has been a great addition to the Royals staff but is 1-2 against the Indians with one very weak performance this season when he walked six in three innings. Cody Anderson (2-1, 1.91) had his first poor outing of the season in his five major league starts but had surrendered just three runs in 30.1 innings in his four previous turns. I just can't past this Vegas 'price.' Take CLEVELAND! |
07-26-15 | Detroit Tigers v. Boston Red Sox -133 | Top | 1-11 | Win | 100 | 13 h 37 m | Show |
Detroit at Boston 8:05 ET Red Sox over Tigers- The Red Sox have faced pitchers the past two games from the Tigers that were struggling and made them look like Cy young winners. First Justin Verlander with an ERA of 6.62 gives up one run in eight innings and then yesterday Alfredo Simon who had an ERA of 10.16 in his previous six starts shuts the Sox down with one run. Today Shane Greene (4-7, 6.52 ERA) starts for Detroit and he has an ERA of 12.00 while opponents are batting .385 in his last six starts. He is 0-1 with a 10.57 ERA in three starts against Boston. Only way to go take...RED SOX! |
07-25-15 | Detroit Tigers v. Boston Red Sox -124 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -124 | 17 h 45 m | Show |
Detroit at Boston 4:05 ET Red Sox over Tigers- The 'numbers' here are so one sided it seems impossible for me to even try and make a case for the Red Sox. But, I did find one thing, Boston is 5-1 in their last six games against a team with a losing record and Detroit has that. I can give you a number of trends that say the Tigers should win easily but I just don't see it. After losing eight in-a-row the Red Sox came up favorites last night and won and they come up favorite again and I expect them to win again. Take BOSTON! |
07-24-15 | Detroit Tigers v. Boston Red Sox -131 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show |
Detroit at Boston 7:10 ET Red Sox over Tigers- Detroit's former Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (0-3, 6.62 ERA) isn't anywhere close to the form that won him the top pitching honor in baseball and is coming off his worst performance of the season against the Orioles who battered him for seven runs and eight hits in 3.2 innings. Verlander is 3-4 with a 3.63 ERA lifetime against Boston who will be starting former Tiger Rick Porcello (5-10, 5.79) and he has struggled allowing 18 home runs this season but is 4-4 with a 4.70 ERA at Fenway Park. The Red Sox come off an 0-7 road trip and come up favorites over the Tigers. Take BOSTON! |
07-21-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates -115 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Kansas City 8:10 ET Pirates over Royals- The Pirates were sailing along before the All-Star break winning nine of 10 before they break and then dropped three straight at Milwaukee but go their 'mojo' back last night with their biggest scoring outburst since June 7th. Gerrit Cole (13-3, 2.30 ERA) seeks to be the majors top winner tonight as he has gone 8-1 over his last 10 starts and is 6-1 with a 1.82 ERA in nine road starts. Kansas City's Jason Vargas (5-2, 4.10) makes his first start in six weeks as straining his elbow in his throwing arm and will have to work out the kinks. Take PITTSBURGH! |
07-20-15 | New York Mets +103 v. Washington Nationals | Top | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 30 m | Show |
New York Mets at Washington 7:05 ET Mets over Nationals- If the New York Mets are going to make a serious bid for a wildcard spot in the NL the first nine days after the All-Star break will be crucial to their plight as they start the second half with series against three straight division leaders. Monday they send their ace Matt Harvey (8-6 3.07 ERA) to the mound against rival division leader Washington who like the Mets dropped 2-of-3 in their first series back. Harvey is 2-0 over the Nationals this season pitching 13 scoreless innings and is now 3-1 with a 0.68 ERA in six career starts against them. His opponent on the hill is Gio Gonzalez (6-4, 3.99) who is 8-4 with a lifetime 2.87 ERA against New York. Still, Harvey is the key here. Take the METS! |
07-19-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates v. Milwaukee Brewers -115 | Top | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 49 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee 2:10 ET Brewers over Pirates- Like I said Saturday the Pirates were the team affected most by the All-Star game as they had won 11 of 13 prior to the break and had all the momentum and now they have seemed to have lost their 'mojo' now to mention their last two games at Milwaukee. The Brewers who were the first team to lose their manager are fighting back to respectability as they have won 15 of 21 and will start their prized rookie Taylor Jungmann (4-1, 2.15 ERA) who hasn't lost since his second career start on June 14. He made his debut against Pittsburgh and gave up one run and three hits in seven innings to notch his first win. This afternoon he gets his second. Take MILWAUKEE! |
07-18-15 | Chicago Cubs -158 v. Atlanta Braves | Top | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Atlanta 7:10 ET Cubs over Falcons- Chicago free-agent Jon Lester (4-8, 3.59 ERA) has not won since mid-May and is winless in his last 10 starts. It has not been all Lester's fault as he didn't allow an earned run in his last two starts while the Cubs were scoring no runs and only three in his last four outings. Former Yankee Manny Banuelos (1-0, 0.75) is making just his third big-league start and he will have his work cut out for him against this heavy-hitting Chicago line-up. Lester breaks through. Take the CUBS! |
07-17-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates v. Milwaukee Brewers -110 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 25 h 48 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Pirates- The Pirates were one team that wasn't looking forward to the All-Start break has they had won 11 of their last 13 contests entering the break. The Brewers meanwhile have dropped four of their last six games following an eight game winning streak and are in last place in the Celntral Division. Pittsburgh trails only St. Louis is the NL and have won six of nine meetings with Milwaukee after losing 12 of 19 games last season to the Brew crew. Charlie Morton (6-2, 4.15 ERA) started the season 5-0 but has is 1-2 in his last four starts and is 3-6 with a 4.11 ERA in 12 career starts against this division rival. Mike Fiers (4-7, 3.96) has posted three quality starts in his last five appearances and has only one win in that span. Look for Milwaukee to improve on the major's worst home record in the second half. Take the BREWERS! |
07-12-15 | Oakland A's v. Cleveland Indians -118 | Top | 2-0 | Loss | -118 | 5 h 27 m | Show |
Oakland at Cleveland 1:10 ET Indians over A’s- A pair of streaks ended yesterday with Oakland’s 5-3 win over Cleveland as the A’s halted a three game losing streak and the Indians had their four game winning streak end. Oakland’s Sonny Gray (9-3, 2.20 ERA) is 1-0 lifetime against the Indians and is an outstanding 6-1 with a 2.10 ERA on the road while his mound opponent Corey Klubler (4-9, 3.45) just posted his first win since the end of May but is 0-3 lifetime against the A’s. This time the Indians who have won nine of 13 get it done. Take CLEVELAND! |
07-11-15 | San Diego Padres +102 v. Texas Rangers | Top | 6-5 | Win | 102 | 14 h 40 m | Show |
San Diego at Texas 9:05 ET Padres over Rangers- Texas how eddied a five-game losing streak Friday night hasn’t won back-to-back games yet this month. San Diego meanwhile has lost six straight and will starting James Shields (7-3, 3.88 ERA) who is winless in his last six starts going 0-3 but has surrendered two runs or fewer in three of those starts including no earned runs and only two hits in his last start at Pittsburgh. The Rangers will start Colby Lewis (8-4, 4.83) who was batted around for 10 runs and 12 hits on four innings in his last start against the Angels on Sunday. Lewis who has never faced the Padres his a 5.11 ERA at home. Take SAN DIEGO! |
07-08-15 | Tampa Bay Rays -133 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 7-9 | Loss | -133 | 13 h 1 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Kansas City 8:10 ET Rays over Royals- It seems a bit off that the Rays who lost a double-header to the Royals yesterday would come up the favorite today as they have dropped nine of their last 10 contests. That is until one realizes that Chris Archer (9-5, 2.18 ERA) is taking the hill. Archer is 6-0 with a 0.77 ERA in seven road starts and has a 2.84 ERA in two career starts against Kansas City. He has 141 strikeouts in only 116 innings this season while walking only 28. For the Royals veteran Jeremy Guthrie (6-5, 5.42) will get the nod and he is 9-11 with a 3.97 ERA lifetime against Tampa Bay. Look for the Rays to get it done here. Take TAMPA BAY! |
07-07-15 | Oakland A's -112 v. New York Yankees | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show |
Oakland at New York Yankees 7:05 A’s over Yankees- This one’s hard to believe, the last place A’s have a better run differential the the first place Yankees. This is because Oakland has lost more one-run games than any other team in baseball. But, there is one thing they have going for them and that is All-Star pitcher Sonny Gray (9-3, 2.09 ERA) who is making his first start since June 25 because of a bout with salmonella. New York will start Nathan Eovaldi (8-2, 4.52) who has been supported by a great run supply but is 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA against Oakland. The Yankees have do it with power hitting but struggle against the better hurlers. Take OAKLAND! |
07-06-15 | St. Louis Cardinals v. Chicago Cubs -130 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -130 | 12 h 9 m | Show |
St. Louis at Chicago 8:05 ET Cubs over Cardinals- A pair of former Boston Red Sox teammates will square off in Wrigley Field tonight as John Lackey (6-5, 3.30 ERA) will face Jon Lester (4-6, 3.74) in a battle between bitter rivals. Lackey is 1-0 versus Chicago (2-1 lifetime) this season while Lackey who is 0-4 in his blast eight starts and hasn’t won since May 16 has split two decisions against St. Louis this year and is 1-1 lifetime. both clubs are struggling to score runs as the Cubs have scored two runs or fewer inn 10 of their last 12 starts while the Cardinals have scored just 11 runs in their last six games. Take the CUBS! |
07-05-15 | Houston Astros v. Boston Red Sox -109 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 23 m | Show |
Houston at Boston 1:35 ET Red Sox over Astros- The Red Sox are starting to show some life as they have won five of seven and have a chance to win their third series in-a-row for the first time this season. A pair of rookies will face-off at Fenway Park when Lance McCullers (4-2, 2.19 ERA) takes the Hill for Houston against Boston’s Eduardo Rodriquez (4-2, 3.92). After allowing just two home runs in his first 53 innings of Big League work McCullers will be tested with the Green Monster behind him just as Rodriguez has been challenged surrendering 16 runs in 15.1 innings. I’d rate this match-up a toss-up except that the Red Sox are 18-7 all-time against the Astros. Take BOSTON! |
07-04-15 | Baltimore Orioles v. Chicago White Sox -110 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
Baltimore at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET White Sox over Orioles- This is a match-up of the scoreless wonders as the White Sox are a major-league worst in runs scored with 267 and the Orioles have gone 19 innings without a player crossing home plate. Chicago has won three straight for the first time this season and Baltimore has dropped four of their last five but are 12-3 in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record. O’s starter Chris Tillman (6-7, 5.67 ERA) is 4-0 in his last five starts as well as 3-1 lifetime against the Pale Hose while Jeff Samardzija (5-4, 4.56) is also 3-1 lifetime against the Orioles. This one comes down to who is hot and who is not and the White Sox get the nod. Take CHICAGO! |
07-03-15 | Milwaukee Brewers -112 v. Cincinnati Reds | Top | 12-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 32 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Brewers over Reds- A pair of ‘also-rans’ will be going at it in this 3-game holiday weekend as the bottom two clubs in the NL Central face-off in Cincinnati. Still a full seven games behind the Reds in the loss column Milwaukee has won five straight and eight of their last 10 while Cincinnati has managed just four wins in their last five series. Brewers starter Mike Fiers (3-7, 4.14 ERA) has little to show for some decent efforts as he has allowed two runs or fewer in 11 of his 15 starts. One of his worst starts was against these same Reds who ripped hime for eight runs (4 earned) in four innings back in April. look for the Brewers to continue their good play and post another victory tonight. Take MILWAUKEE! |
07-02-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates -127 v. Detroit Tigers | Top | 8-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 38 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Detroit 1:10 ET Pirates over Tigers- There are a number of conflicting trends surrounding this contest as Detroit is 25-6 in inter-league play against left-handers as trey face lefty Francisco Liriano ((4-6, 3.21 ERA) who is 5-10 lifetime with a 5.59 ERA against the Tigers and Pittsburgh is 2-9 in his last 11 starts against teams with a winning record. Conflict appears as the Tigers are just 2-9 in their last 11 against teams with a winning record. Detroit’s Kyle Ryan (1-1, 4.56) has only one quality start this season and the Pirates line-up will just be too tough. Take PITTSBURGH! |
06-30-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates -111 v. Detroit Tigers | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 36 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Detroit 7:05 ET Pirates over Tigers- It is either one thing or another with Detroit's Justin Verlander (0-1, 6.17 ERA) who is making just his third start of the season after missing his last turn with back stiffness. The Tigers managed to rally late with four runs in the eighth and scored the winner in the ninth against the White Sox on Sunday to pull off the win. Pittsburgh meanwhile has dropped six of their last nine but will have their best in Gerrit Cole (11-3, 2.16 ERA) who is 6-1 in inter-league play as well as a 6-1 road record with a 1.71 ERA. Pittsburgh looks to reverse an earlier season series loss (2-1) against Detroit here. Take the PIRATES! |

06-29-15 | Minnesota Twins v. Cincinnati Reds -150 | Top | 7-11 | Win | 100 | 12 h 49 m | Show |
Minnesota at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over Twins- The Cincinnati Reds return home where they have won seven of eight games after getting swept four straight by the weak hitting Mets including a double-header yesterday. Mike Pelfrey (5-4, 3.06 ERA) has won just two of his last seven starts and is 4-2 with a 5.09 ERA against the Reds ib seven career starts. Mike Leake (5-4, 3.91) meanwhile is 3-0 in his last five starts and has only eight career innings against the Twins in eight innings work. The Reds are 1-0 at home in inter-league play and get the nod tonight. Take CINCINNATI! |

06-28-15 | New York Yankees -109 v. Houston Astros | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Houston 2:10 ET Yankees over Astros- when the season started it was the Yankees starting rotation that was the most impressive part of their roster and now here we have a club that has only had 30 quality starts on the year while they are scoring runs in bunches. This afternoon they will try and win this four game series in Houston with inconsistent Michael Pineda (8-4, 4.25 ERA) who can be brilliant in one start and horrid the next, he has surrendered five runs of more in four of his past seven turns (all losses). Astros starter Collin Mc Hugh (8-3, 44.80) has had much of the same problem as he has given up nine hits in four of his past seven starts and has a 6.82 ERA at home. New York bats are hot...Take the YANKEES! |
06-27-15 | Minnesota Twins v. Milwaukee Brewers -117 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -117 | 8 h 46 m | Show |
Minnesota at Milwaukee 2:10 ET Brewers over Twins- Milwaukee has struggled for the most part this season with their only bright spots coming at the hands of the Twins who the defeated 10-4 on Friday. The Brewers took two of three in early June against Minnesota when the roughed up Kyle Gibson (4-6, 3.35 ERA) when he gave up five runs in six hits including three homers in a 10-5 loss. Gibson is 0-3 in his last four starts and will face Matt Garza (4-9, 5.48) who allowed the Twins only one run on six hits in seven innings to beat Minnesota June 6. Look for the trends to continue as the 'hot' Brewers win here. Take MILWAUKEE! |
06-26-15 | Cleveland Indians -103 v. Baltimore Orioles | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -103 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
Cleveland at Baltimore 7:05 ET Indians over Orioles- Very quietly the Orioles are back in the race in the AL East by winning 15 of their last 20 and now trail Tampa Bay by just two games. They have won six of their last seven series after beating Boston 2-of-3 in Fenway Park. Still, Baltimore is just 19-19 at home and will be facing the reining AL Cy Young Award winner in Corey Kluber (3-9, 3.65 ERA) who has lost his last four decisions as the Indians have failed to win back-to-back games since June 2. Wel-Yin Chen (3-4, 2.89) will get the nod for the O's and he is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA against the Tribe in three career starts. Tonight the cream raises, take Kluber and CLEVELAND! |
06-25-15 | New York Yankees v. Houston Astros -144 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 29 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Houston 8:10 ET Astros over Yankees- Part of the Astros turn-around aside from their power hitting has been their overall pitching improvement. Dallas Keuhel (8-3, 2.35 ERA) has been the mainstay of the staff this season as he has now made 25 consecutive starts of six innings or more. The left-hander has been particularly effect at home where he is 6-0 with a 1.62 ERA. Houston is returning home at the right time as they have dropped four of their last six and will face to Yankees and Royals in this seven-game homestand. New York ended a three-game losing streak with a win over the Phillies yesterday but have surrendered 36 runs in this last four games. At home it;s the ASTROS! |
06-24-15 | New York Mets v. Milwaukee Brewers -115 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 40 m | Show |
New York Mets at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Mets- The New York Mets who started the season with a 10-game home winning streaking is now at the beak even mark of .500 as they have won just 10 of 35 road games. Currently on a six-game losing streak their longest in two years they will send veteran Bartolo Colon (9-5, 4.81 ERA) up against Milwaukee a club that has a career batting average of .315 against him while he is 3-2 overall. Jimmy Nelson (3-8, 4.84) despite losing his only two career decisions has held New York a to a .150 batting average and 0.92 WHIP. Stay with the flow...Take the BREWERS! |
06-23-15 | Oakland A's -126 v. Texas Rangers | Top | 8-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 38 m | Show |
Oakland at Texas 8:05 ET A's over Rangers- The Oakland A's are beginning to show signs of life as they are trying to recover from a season low 16-games under .500 as they have won six of their last eight and are 17-11 in their last 28 contests. Their starting rotation is 14-7 over that span with a 2.11 ERA and tonight they start Jesse Chavez (3-6, 2.52 ERA) who has worked at least six innings in eight of his last nine outings. Texas will start rookie Chi Chi Gonzalez (2-1, 0.90) whose only big league loss came against Oakland 10 days ago. This is his fifth career start and it catches up with him here. Take OAKLAND! |
06-22-15 | Detroit Tigers v. Cleveland Indians -133 | Top | 8-5 | Loss | -133 | 12 h 29 m | Show |
Detroit at Cleveland 7:10 ET Indians over Tigers- The Tigers exploded for five home runs Sunday at Yankee Stadium snapping a four game losing streak. Cleveland who managed to score one-run in each of their past three games against Tampa Bay were able to pull out a 1-0 win Sunday with a sac-fly in the bottom of the ninth. Kyle Ryan (1-1, 3.26 ERA) who has never faced the Indians is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA on the road and Detroit has won nine of their last 10 in Cleveland. The Indians will start Trevor Bauer (6-3, 3.22) and is looking to bounce-back from his worst start of the year and is 2-0 lifetime against the Tigers. With the Indians coming up the favorite here I see...CLEVELAND! |
06-21-15 | Houston Astros v. Seattle Mariners -115 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 56 m | Show |
Houston at Seattle 4:10 ET Mariners over Astros- Seattle seems to have received a 'shot-in-the-arm' with two new faces on board as the hired former franchise Icon Egar Martinez as batting coach and acquired Mark Trumbo as they responded with three homers Saturday including one by Trumbo. Without Jose Altuve in the line-up (hamstring pull) Houston just doesn't have the same bite and they will be facing the Marines J.A. Happ (3-3, 3.79 ERA) who is 3-0 in five career starts against the Astros. Happ is way overdue for a win as he hasn't recorded one in his last seven starts. Take SEATTLE! |
06-20-15 | New York Mets -111 v. Atlanta Braves | Top | 4-6 | Loss | -111 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
New York Mets at Atlanta 7:10 ET Mets over Braves- Highly touted rookie Noah Syndergaad (2-4, 3.76 ERA) broke in with a stellar performance against Toronto with 11 strikeouts in six innings allowing only two hits but has and struggled until his last start on Monday. He has excellent control for a young hurler giving up just eight walks while striking out 45 in less then 41 innings. New York blew a late lead last night and has struggled on the road winning just three of their last 17 but still lead the NL East by a half-game. Williams Perez (3-0, 2.29) has moved out of the bullpen into the rotation and has posted a 1.50 ERA as a starter but that ends tonight. Take the METS! |
06-19-15 | Chicago Cubs +102 v. Minnesota Twins | Top | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Minnesota 8:10 ET Cubs over Twins- It seems a bit odd to me that the Cubs would open the favorite in Las Vegas at Minnesota when the Twins are starting their ace Phil Hughes (4-6, 4.79 ERA). This seems even more surprising when you realize the Twins pitching staff has allowed only one run in each of their consecutive victories and a total of 11 in their last five contests. Chicago has won five of the last six games started by Kyle Hendricks (2-2, 3.80) and bring some of baseball's best young talent to the park everyday. Hughes is winless in his past three starts but is 3-2 with a 4.85 ERA in six home starts this season and this is why that opening 'price' has me shaking my head. Take the CUBS! |
06-18-15 | Boston Red Sox -111 v. Atlanta Braves | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 37 m | Show |
Boston at Atlanta 7:10 ET Red Sox over Braves- This is one of those what I used to call 'don't make sense' games where a horrible team is favored on the road. The Red Sox who have lost eight of their last 10 and have won just 12 of 33 road games is favored tonight in Atlanta. Granted the Braves are not the best club in baseball but are a respectable 16-14 at home and will be sending this season's best in Shelby Miller (5-2, 2.02 ERA) to the mound against up-and-dower Clay Buchholz (3-6, 4.22) who has given ip eight runs and 18 hits in his last two starts covering 10.2 innings. Add that he had one of the worse starts of his career in Atlanta last season when he issued eight walks while giving up six runs in three innings. Miller faced the Sawx once with the Cardinals last season and allowed only one run, four hits and one walk in seven innings. This just 'don't make sense!' Take BOSTON! |
06-17-15 | Los Angeles Angels v. Arizona Diamondbacks -103 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 14 h 36 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Arizona 9:40 ET Diamondbacks over Angels- Los Angeles brings a pair of hot hitters into Chase Field as Albert Pujois has taken over the AL home run lead with 19 and Mike Trout is hitting almost .400 over the past 10 games. Arizona will counter with some hot hitting of their own as Paul Goldschmidt leads the majors in batting average (.361) and on-base-percentage (.481) and has reached base safely in 26 straight games. Chase Anderson (2-1, 2.82 ERA) the Arizona starter has allowed one or zero runs in seven of 12 turns and more then three only twice. Take ARIZONA! |
06-16-15 | Los Angeles Dodgers -145 v. Texas Rangers | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -145 | 13 h 50 m | Show |
Los Angeles Dodgers at Texas 8:50 ET Dodgers over Rangers- This is an unusual four game series where the first two contest are being played in Texas and the next two on Wednesday and Thursday in Los Angeles. LA's Brett Anderson ( 2-4, 3.57 ERA) a Texas native returns to his home state and has struggled of late winning only once in his last 10 starts. This brings the question to mind...why is he favored here on the road against the hot Rangers. Chi Chi Gonzalez (2-1, 0.42) has opponents hitting just .176 and right handed batters just .105 average. That all changes tonight. Take LOS ANGELES! |
06-15-15 | Los Angeles Dodgers v. Texas Rangers +100 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 48 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Dodgers- Los Angeles has built a 3.5 game lead in the NL West by dominating the opposition at home (25-10) but winning on the road (12-16) has been trouble. Texas has managed to win seven of their last nine at home and will be sending Yovanni Gallardo (5-6, 3.45 ERA) to the hill and is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA in his last five starts. Texas starting pitching has had 10 consecutive quality starts and fresh blood Joey Gallo has added punch to the line-up in the absence of Adrian Beltre. Take TEXAS! |
06-13-15 | New York Yankees +103 v. Baltimore Orioles | Top | 4-9 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 43 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Baltimore 7:15 ET Yankees over Orioles- The night just started poorly for New York in Friday as they had the bases-loaded with no outs in the top of the first and failed to score and it was all downhill from there as their defense and relief pitching fell apart. After a terrible start CC Sabathia (3-7, 5.25 ERA) shown signs of life allowing just two runs in each of his past two starts and brings an 18-7 lifetime mark against the Orioles into this start. Baltimore's Bud Norris (2-4, 8.63) has yet to fine his groove if he has one and has surrendered seven runs and 11 hits in his last two appearance against New York covering 8.1 innings. Take the YANKEES! |
06-12-15 | Washington Nationals v. Milwaukee Brewers -103 | Top | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 14 h 46 m | Show |
Washington at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Nationals- The lowly Milwaukee Brewers who were the first team in MLB to jettison their manage are beginning to show signs of life as they have won five of their last seven including their come-from behind 6-5 win over the Nationals last night. Despite Bryce Harper's power hitting Washington has dropped 10 of their last 13 and will be starting Jordan Zimmerman (5-3, 3.18 ERA) who just suffered his first loss in nine starts is 4-0 with a 2.35 ERA lifetime against the Brewers. Mike Fiers (2-6, 4.06) has thrown better then his record might indicate as he given up two runs or less in eight of his last nine outings and is 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA in three starts against the Nats. Washington is just in a bad spot right now and the Brewers are playing with more confidence. Take MILWAUKEE! |
06-11-15 | Colorado Rockies v. Miami Marlins -134 | Top | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 3 m | Show |
Colorado at Miami 7:10 ET Marlins over Rockies- Changes at the top (General manager to manger) hasn't had any positive effect on Miami as they are now 12-games under .500 as they come home after being swept three games in Toronto. David Phelps (2-3, 4.68 ERA) is off his worst start of the season for the Marlins as he was shelled for nine runs and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings at Colorado on Saturday. He is winless in his last three starts three of which came at home. Chris Rusin (2-0, 1.45) who fanned Giancarlo Stanton four times last time out will find the going a little tougher in Miami. Take the MARLINS! |
06-10-15 | Texas Rangers v. Oakland A's -150 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 14 h 49 m | Show |
Texas at Oakland 10:05 ET A's over Rangers- The Texas Rangers have the best road record (20-12) in baseball and have won six consecutive series with tonight being the 'rubber' game in this one. The Rangers are hot having won eight of their last 10 and have moved within two-games of first place Houston. Oakland will look to stop the hard charging Rangers with Jesse Hahn (3-5, 3.51 ERA) who has been hurt by weak defense and a club that is 3-16 in one-run games including 1-11 at home. Hahn is 1-2 with a 2.84 ERA in six home starts while his mound opponent Yovani Gallardo (5-6, 3.54) is 0-3 with a 6. 48 ERA in three starts against the A's. Take OAKLAND! |
06-07-15 | Milwaukee Brewers -106 v. Minnesota Twins | Top | 0-2 | Loss | -106 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Minnesota 2:10 ET Brewers over Twins- The Milwaukee Brewers the team with the worst record in MLB looks to accomplish something for the first time this season a series sweep on the road as they go for their third straight win against Minnesota. After a blistering May with 20 wins the Twins are just 4-6 in June and while the Brewers have won their last two after dropping nine of their past 11. Mike Fiers (2-5, 4.06 ERA) has struggled with low run support but is 2-1 with a 2.22 ERA on the road and is 1-0 lifetime against the Twins. Mike Pelfrey (4-2, 2.59) owns a 1-2 career mark against Milwaukee and they are hitting .272 against him. Take the BREWERS! |
06-06-15 | New York Mets v. Arizona Diamondbacks -115 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 14 h 2 m | Show |
New York Mets at Arizona 10:10 ET Diamondbacks over Mets- 42-year-old Bartlo Colon (8-3, 4.72 ERA) goes for his National League leading nine victory tonight despite his high ERA as his control has been exceptional allowing just five walks in 11 starts. Colon has surrendered 11 homers in 68 innings but has helped himself at the plate with a number of key hits. Chase Anderson (1-1, 3.26) gets the start for Arizona and is off his worst start of the season giving up six runs and 10 hits against the Brewers. The Mets injury list continues to grow and tonight their thin line-up will be exposed. Take ARIZONA! |
06-05-15 | St. Louis Cardinals v. Los Angeles Dodgers -117 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -117 | 14 h 55 m | Show |
St. Louis at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Cardinals- Last Sunday St. Louis starter Carlos Martinez (5-2, 3.13 ERA) stopped the Dodgers cold allowing just one hit in seven strong innings while striking out eight in a 3-1 win over LA. The Cardinals have won three straight and nine of the last 11 and they are 6-1 against the NL West. Brett Anderson (2-3, 3.42) took the loss last Sunday despite surrendering just two runs on five hits in six innings but is 1-0, with a 2.89 ERA in five home starts. As they say 'turn-about-is-fair-play' and I expect the Dodgers to triumph here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
06-04-15 | Chicago Cubs v. Washington Nationals -118 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -118 | 13 h 60 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Washington 7:05 ET Nationals over Cubs- These two NL contenders are struggling as they enter this series as they have both lost six of their last 10 and Chicago is winless in their last four series and Washington has dropped five of their last six. The Cubs Jake Arrieta (4-4, 3.18 ERA) has struggled of late posting a 3.99 ERA in May and is winless in his last three starts. Gio Gonzalez (4-2, 4.73) was hit hard last time (literally as he was HBP twice) but has won his last three decisions. Gonzalez is 22-11 with a 2.91 ERA at Nationals Park and is 3-1 with a 2.39 ERA against the Cubs while Arrieta is 0-1 with a 5.81 ERA against the Nationals. Take WASHINGTON! |
06-03-15 | Cleveland Indians -128 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -128 | 13 h 53 m | Show |
Cleveland at Kansas City 8:10 ET Indians over Royals- The Cleveland Indians look to get to .500 for the first time this season as they look to move to 5-1 on their current road trip and seven of eight on the road overall. Cory Kluber (3-5, 3.53 ERA) started 0-5 for the Tribe but the Cy Young award winner bounced back allowing just five runs in his last four starts while striking out 50 in his last 32 innings of work. Royals starter Jason Vargas (3-2, 5.16) is back off the DL and has yet to return to form as his ERA remains above 5. Kansas City has won two-of-three from the Indians twice already this season and now it's Tribe's turn. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-02-15 | Cleveland Indians -125 v. Kansas City Royals | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 47 m | Show |
Cleveland at Kansas City 8:10 ET Indians over Royals- The Indians who started slow are now playing hot and have won six of their last seven road games and are now favored at Kansas City which is a bit of a surprise. I saw the Royals open the favorite and this move came from 'within' and has nothing to do with money wagered. Cleveland is on a 10-3 surge but it still seems strange that they are the favorite at Kansas City where they are 17-7 at home. Carlos Carrasco (6-4, 4.24 ERA) is among the AL leaders in strike out and is averaging 10.4 K's per nine innings as he has 37 punch-outs in his last five starts (three wins) covering 35.6 innings. The Royals Jeremy Guthrie (4-3, 6.70) is off his worst career showing surrendering 11 runs in 1.2 innings against the Yankees and owns a lifetime 6.14 ERA against the Indians. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-01-15 | Pittsburgh Pirates -128 v. San Francisco Giants | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 14 h 18 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at San Francisco 10:15 ET Pirates over Giants- Two of the hottest teams in the NL face each other as the Giants winners of 21 games in May host the Pirates winners of six straight before a loss at San Diego. Two dominate pitchers will oppose each other as Pittsburgh's Geritt Cole (7-2, 2.11 ERA) who has allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his nine starts is 2-0 with a 3.14 ERA against San Francisco is going against the Giants Ryan Vogelsong (4-2, 4.24) who is 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA lifetime against the Pirates. In what should be a geat pitching battle take PITTSBURGH! |
05-30-15 | New York Yankees v. Oakland A's -124 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -124 | 13 h 15 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Oakland 10:05 ET A's over Yankees- The A's have gone eight straight winless series at home (0-7-1) and have a chance to secure there first series win of the season. Oakland has beaten the Yankees in nine of their last 11 meetings and New York even though leading the AL East with a 25-24 record has lost eight of their last 11 games with their only wins a three-game sweep of the Royals at Yankee Stadium. Nathan Eovaldi (4-1, 4.27 ERA) is 0-1 with a 5.54 ERA against the A's while Jesse Hahn (2-4, 3.69) is 1-1 with a 2.53 ERA against New York. Once again it's OAKLAND! |
05-29-15 | Kansas City Royals v. Chicago Cubs -132 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -132 | 8 h 20 m | Show |
Kansas City at Chicago Cubs 4:05 ET Cubs over Royals- Baseball is such a game of streaks and right now Kansas City is in the mist of a four-game losing streak after having won seven of their previous eight games. The Royals will start Edinson Volquez (4-3, 2.77 ERA) against a team that he has defeated seven times without a loss. Chicago meanwhile has dropped three of four but this is not the sane Cubs team that Volquez dominated in the past with a 2.90 lifetime ERA as the addition of Kris Bryant and monster changes have made them much more formidable. Jake Arrieta (4-4, 2.95) who has 37 strikeout in his last 31innings is off his worst outing of the season but is 2-0 with a 3.12 ERA against the Royals. Take the CUBS! |
05-28-15 | Cleveland Indians -122 v. Seattle Mariners | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 33 m | Show |
Cleveland at Seattle 10:10 ET Indians over Mariners- Two hot clubs clash in Seattle as the Mariners have won five of six and the Indians three straight and seven of their last nine. Corey Kluber (2-5, 3.49 ERA) who started the season 0-5 and had no wins after seven starts has been sensational his three outings striking out 37 while allowing just two runs in 25 innings. Seattle will also start a 'hot' pitcher in James Paxton (3-2, 3.52) who has won his last three starts and has five straight quality starts with a 1.59 ERA in that stretch and has not been scored upon in his last two home starts (14 innings). Still, Cleveland has bonded for personal reasons and are playing 'hot.' Take the INDIANS! |
