03-20-21 | Warriors v. Grizzlies -6 | Top | 103-111 | Win | 100 | 12 h 5 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies minus the points over Golden State. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That will be the attitude of Memphis tonight, as it gets a second chance to defeat Golden State. Last night, the Warriors won their second straight, when they upset Memphis by 13 points, even though Steph Curry was sidelined. He will once again be in street clothes, but after losing last night, you can rest assured Memphis won't take the Warriors lightly. The Warriors are a poor 1-10 ATS their last 11, and 8-24-1 ATS their last 33, off back-to-back wins. Take Memphis minus the points. |
03-19-21 | Wolves v. Suns -10.5 | Top | 101-113 | Win | 100 | 16 h 37 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over Minnesota. These two teams met here last night, and the Suns blew a 15-point, 3rd quarter lead to lose, 123-119. We'll take Phoenix in the rematch, as NBA teams have gone 27-9 ATS when playing the 2nd of back-to-back games against a foe which upset it as a 9.5-point (or bigger) underdog, provided that foe's W/L percentage was .600 (or less). Additionally, the Suns are 11-3 ATS off a loss, while the Timberwolves are 0-23 SU and 6-17 ATS as an unrested underdog off an upset win. Take the Suns minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-21 | Raptors -4.5 v. Pistons | Top | 112-116 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 44 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors minus the points over the Detroit Pistons. Toronto comes into tonight's game off a 118-95 loss at Chicago on Monday. The Raptors are also currently mired in a 5-game losing streak, including a 129-105 home loss to these Pistons just 14 days ago. But that upset defeat sets up Toronto in a very good revenge situation tonight. What we want to do is play on any .633 (or worse) NBA team which is favored, and playing with revenge from an upset loss by more than 18 points. These revengers have cashed to the tune of 64.4% in the regular season, including 4-1-1 ATS already this season. Indeed, we had one of these plays come up just two days ago when the Clippers avenged a 51-point defeat to the Mavericks. Even better: Toronto is 94-59 ATS off back to back losses, and 13-5 ATS its last 18 off a loss by more than 11 points. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-21 | Clippers -1.5 v. Mavs | Top | 109-99 | Win | 100 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers over the Dallas Mavericks. When these two teams met in December, the Clippers were annihilated by the Mavs, 124-73. We had one of our two strongest plays of the season-to-date on the Mavericks in that game, but we will go against Dallas tonight. Our key factor, of course, is the magnitude of the loss by Los Angeles. Indeed, teams that lose by 50+ points have covered the spread in the next regular season match-up 75% (12-4 ATS) of the time. And, if we relax our margin of victory from 50 points to 30 points, and then add a couple of other factors: our opponent is off a SU/ATS win, while our revenge-minded team failed to cover the spread in its previous game (against a different opponent) by 7+ points, then our team playing with 30-point revenge is 19-0 ATS since 1991 if it was also installed as the favorite. Moreover, before losing by 51 to Dallas, the Clippers had actually dominated this series, with a 7-3 SU/ATS record over the previous 10 meetings. I look for the Clippers to get the win tonight. Lay the small number. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-13-21 | Pacers +7 v. Suns | Top | 122-111 | Win | 100 | 14 h 56 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Pacers + the points over the Phoenix Suns. The Pacers led most of last night's game at the Los Angeles Lakers, but only scored 14 of the game's final 45 points, and lost, 105-100. The Pacers will try to bounce back tonight in the Valley of the Sun. And we'll grab the points with the road underdog. After losing ATS last night, the Pacers' point spread losing streak has now been stretched to seven games. However, NBA road underdogs, off a SU/ATS road loss, and 7+ ATS losses, overall, are a solid 57-29-2 ATS. Grab the points with the Pacers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-13-21 | Blazers -4.5 v. Wolves | Top | 125-121 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Portland Trail Blazers minus the points over Minnesota. The Timberwolves snapped their nine-game losing streak with a 30-point blowout win over the New Orleans Pelicans. But Minnesota is still a god-awful team. And I love going against bad teams off wins because -- one of the reasons they are bad -- is that they don't often put two good games together, back-to-back. This year, for example, Minnesota is 2-5 ATS off a win. And it's 12-21 ATS its last 33 off a straight-up win, including 2-11 ATS when priced from +4.5 to +14.5 points. The Trail Blazers lost their first game after the All-Star Break, 127-121, to the Phoenix Suns. But NBA teams that lose SU/ATS in their first game after the All-Star Break generally rebound in their next game, and have gone 92-68-3 ATS since 1990. Finally, the Blazers are 10-1 ATS off a loss, if the game is competitively-priced with a point spread of 6 points or less. I look for Portland to rout the Timberwolves on Saturday. Lay the points. Good luck as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-21 | Rockets +18.5 v. Jazz | Top | 99-114 | Win | 100 | 4 h 24 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets + the points over the Utah Jazz. Right now, the Rockets are as bad as an NBA team can be. They've lost 14 straight, and have covered just one of those 14 games. But the oddsmakers have adjusted, so the Rockets are now getting 18.5 points. And that's enough for me to pull the trigger on Houston tonight. For technical support, consider that NBA teams on 7-game (or worse) ATS losing streaks are a solid 131-91-5 ATS on the road, including 26-12 ATS when getting more than 11 points. That bodes well for the Rockets today. As does the fact that NBA teams are just 12-28 ATS when laying more than 11 points in their first game after the All-Star Break. Take Houston. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-03-21 | Bulls +5.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 128-124 | Win | 100 | 11 h 25 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Chicago Bulls + the points over New Orleans. The Pelicans upset Utah, 129-124, on Monday, while Chicago lost at home, 118-112, to Denver that same night. We played on the Pelicans against the Jazz, but will go against them tonight. Notwithstanding its win, New Orleans is still just 15-19 this season, and I don't trust it as a favorite, as it's covered just 11 of its last 36 as a home favorite. Moreover, over the last 31 years, NBA home favorites with a losing record have covered just 36% off an outright win as a home dog of +6.5 (or more) points, if they were now matched up against an opponent off a SU/ATS home loss. Take the Bulls + the points. Good luck as always...Al McMordie. |
03-02-21 | Nuggets v. Bucks -6.5 | Top | 128-97 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Denver. The Nuggets won and covered last night in Chicago, 118-112, as a 4.5-point road favorite. But off that SU/ATS win, we'll fade Nikola Jokic & Co. tonight in Milwaukee, as Denver is a dreadful 31-62 ATS on the road off a point spread win. Meanwhile, under coach Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks are 35-17 ATS at home when priced from -3 to -10.5 points. Not surprisingly, the Bucks struggled somewhat (5-5 SU; 4-6 ATS) without Jrue Holiday over a 10-game stretch in February. But Holiday returned to the court on Sunday, in Milwaukee's 105-100 win over the Clippers. The quality of his play will no doubt improve as he gets his conditioning back, and Milwaukee should eventually round into the form it displayed the previous two seasons. For the moment, I believe the Bucks are still a tad undervalued, and the point spread for tonight's game is very favorable. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-01-21 | Jazz v. Pelicans +7 | Top | 124-129 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans + the points over Utah. The Pelicans return home off back to back road losses to San Antonio and Milwaukee. And they also play with revenge from two road losses to the Utah Jazz. I look for New Orleans to issue a bit of payback to Utah tonight, as the Pelicans are 25-10 ATS at home when playing with revenge from two road losses earlier in the season, including 13-2 ATS as an underdog. And the Pels are a fantastic 34-8-1 ATS as a home underdog priced from +5 to +9.5 points against an opponent off a win. Take New Orleans. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-28-21 | Hawks +6.5 v. Heat | Top | 99-109 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Atlanta Hawks + the points over Miami. We played on the Heat on Friday, and easily got the $$$$ when they upset the league's best team (Utah), as a 6.5-point home underdog. But NBA favorites of -3.5 points (or more) generally have letdowns after upsetting .801 (or better) teams as a home dog of +3.5 (or more) points, when matched up against a foe off a loss, as our favorites are 0-16-1 ATS their last 17. With Atlanta, indeed, in off a loss to Oklahoma City, we'll take the Hawks + the points on Sunday night. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-27-21 | Nuggets -7 v. Thunder | Top | 126-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Oklahoma City. The Nuggets come into tonight's game off an upset loss at home to the Wizards. And Denver was favored by 8 points in that game. Meanwhile, the Thunder upset the Hawks, 118-109, here last night. Unfortunately for OKC, unrested, sub-.500 NBA home dogs have covered just 29.4% over the last 31 seasons against rested, winning teams, if our road team was off an upset loss in a game where it was favored by more than five points. The Nuggets will bounce back strong tonight. Take Denver minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-27-21 | Wolves +4 v. Wizards | Top | 112-128 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 52 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Timberwolves + the points over Washington. It's true that Minnesota's riding a 6-game SU/ATS losing streak. But upon close scrutiny, it's clear the Timberwolves are not playing all that poorly. Indeed, a review of these six games reveals that they failed to cover by 2 points against the Lakers; by a half-point against the Pacers; by 2.5 points against the Raptors; by 1 point against the Knicks; and by 2.5 points against the Bulls. They played just one horrible game among these six, and that was when the Bucks blew them out by 27 as a 10-point favorite. But Milwaukee's among the most offensively-explosive teams in the league, so that's hardly unexpected. We'll look for Minnesota to break through tonight vs. a Washington team off an upset win over the Nuggets as an 8-point underdog. Unfortunately, the Wizards now fall into a negative 124-206 ATS system of mine that goes against certain .400 (or worse) teams off upset wins. Even better: they're 6-26 ATS at home off a road win, if they were not favored by more than three points inthat road game. Take Minnesota. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-26-21 | Jazz v. Heat +7 | Top | 116-124 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat + the points over Utah. The Heat are getting healthier, as PG Goran Dragic returned to the lineup two nights ago. Miami won and covered its fourth straight game, and is 8-3 SU its last 11. Meanwhile, Utah blew out the Lakers by 25, as an 8.5-point favorite in its last game. Unfortunately for the Jazz, road favorites have covered just 40% the past 31 years after covering by 10+ points in their previous game, and now playing an opponent off 3 SU/ATS wins. Take Miami + the big number. |
02-26-21 | Kings -1 v. Pistons | Top | 110-107 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings over Detroit. After last night's loss at New York, the Kings' losing streak has now reached 9 games. We'll take Luke Walton's men tonight, as NBA teams on 9-game (or worse) losing streaks have gone 247-183 ATS on the road, including 103-66 ATS off back to back ATS defeats. Take the Kings. |
02-26-21 | Suns -5.5 v. Bulls | Top | 106-97 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over the Chicago Bulls. The Suns were favored by 9, but upset by Charlotte, 124-121, in their last game. They'll look to bounce back tonight against a hot Chicago squad which has won and covered 3 straight. The knee-jerk reaction might be to take the points with the Bulls as a home dog. But be careful, as home dogs off 3 SU/ATS wins have covered just 28% since 1990 vs. .625 (or better) non-division foes off an upset loss in which they failed to cover by 10+ points. The Suns are 19-6 ATS their last 25 away from home, and they're 30-12 ATS as a favorite away from home off a straight-up loss. Take the Suns. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-26-21 | Clippers -6 v. Grizzlies | Top | 119-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Memphis. The Grizzlies blew out Los Angeles last night, 122-94. But off that 28-point defeat, we'll step in and take Tyronn Lue's men on Friday night. The Clippers are a super 39-16 ATS their last 55 off a loss, including a perfect 7-0 ATS on the road off a double-digit loss. Even better: .645 (or better) teams are 12-0 ATS in the regular season if they were playing with revenge from a loss the previous day to a .400 (or better) opponent. This will be a rout. Lay the points with Los Angeles. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-25-21 | Magic +8 v. Nets | Top | 92-129 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 32 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic + the points over Brooklyn. Both of these teams have played well lately. The Nets are 7-0 SU/ATS their last seven, though Kevin Durant remains sidelined. And the Magic are 5-2 ATS their last seven, including outright upset wins over Sacramento, New York, and Golden State (though they were upset, 105-93, by Detroit in their last game). When these two teams last met -- also here in Brooklyn -- the Nets held off Orlando for a 122-115 victory. But the Magic covered the number, and it was the 3rd straight meeting here in Brooklyn covered by Orlando. We'll fade the Nets today, as NBA teams on a 6-game SU/ATS win streak have covered just 39% over the last 41 years vs. foes off an ATS loss by double-digits. And Brooklyn also falls into negative 23-58 and 11-40 ATS systems of mine that go against certain teams off a SU/ATS win vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Finally, revenge-minded road teams, off double-digit upset home losses, have gone 81-45 ATS in the regular season vs. foes off SU/ATS wins. Take the Magic + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-25-21 | Kings +2 v. Knicks | Top | 121-140 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings over the New York Knicks. The Kings have been streaky this season, as they've had ATS losing streaks of 4, 5 and 8 games. And they've also had an 8-game ATS win streak. Their latest 8-game SU/ATS losing streak has immediately followed that 8-game ATS win streak, but it's worth noting it has come largely against good teams. Indeed, the Kings were underdogs in six of their last eight, and were only favored by a single point in one of the two games they weren't an underdog. So, it's best to not overreact to Sacramento's current losing streak. Tonight, they'll take on the 15-17 New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and have been installed as a small underdog on the opening number. We'll take Sacramento, as it falls into 225-142, 117-66, and 160-94 ATS systems of mine that play on certain road teams off back to back losses. Additionally, rested road underdogs, off a SU/ATS loss, and 7+ ATS losses overall, have gone 64% ATS since 1990. Take the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-24-21 | Rockets -3 v. Cavs | Top | 96-112 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 36 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets minus the points over the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two teams are among the NBA's three worst teams in February, as the Rockets are 2-9, while the Cavaliers are 2-10 (the Timberwolves are 2-11). But Cleveland did win last night in dramatic fashion, as Lamar Stevens dunked with 4.1 seconds left to give the Cavs a 112-111 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, as a 7.5-point home underdog. We'll go against Cleveland off that win, as home dogs are an awful 14-36 ATS off an upset win as a home dog of more than 7 points, if they were playing an opponent off a straight-up loss. Meanwhile, Houston is 126-80 ATS on the road off back to back losses (and 63-38 ATS on the road off 3+ losses). And the Rockets are also 24-8 SU and 20-12 ATS their last 32 vs. the Cavaliers. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-21 | Wizards v. Clippers -10 | Top | 116-135 | Win | 100 | 16 h 50 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Washington. The Wizards pulled off a huge upset last night -- their 3rd upset win in a row -- when they defeated LeBron James' Lakers, in overtime, 127-124. But off that big upset win, we'll fade the Wizards tonight vs. the Clippers. Indeed, teams off 3 straight upsets are now 1-21 SU and 5-16-1 ATS their last 22, including 0-10-1 ATS their last 11. That doesn't bode well for Washington tonight. Nor does the fact that the Clippers are 38-16 ATS their last 54 off a straight-up loss. With LA looking to bounce back off its home defeat to Brooklyn on Sunday, we'll lay the points with Kawhi Leonard & Co. tonight. Take the Clippers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-21-21 | Nets v. Clippers -6 | Top | 112-108 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 59 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Brooklyn. The Clippers showed what they can do when fully healthy, as they defeated Utah -- the league's best team -- with Kahwi Leonard, Patrick Beverley and Paul George back in the fold. Tonight, the Clippers will set their sights on Brooklyn, which defeated it in New York, 124-120, earlier this season. The good news for the Clippers tonight is that Kevin Durant won't be on the court, and he had 28 points and 9 rebound in that first meeting. It's true that the Nets have won and covered five straight, including a win over the defending champion Lakers on Thursday. But road dogs of more than 2 points, off an upset win, and off 5 SU/ATS wins overall, are a poor 36.6% ATS since 1990. Lay the points with the Clippers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-21 | Raptors v. Wolves +3.5 | Top | 86-81 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 56 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Timberwolves + the points over Toronto. The Raptors upset Milwaukee last night -- their 2nd straight upset over the Bucks. And Toronto was getting 7.5 points last night. But off those two big road wins, we'll fade the Raptors as a road favorite on Friday night. And key for us is that Minnesota has dropped its last two games -- both at home. But the good news for the T-Wolves is that rested home underdogs -- off back to back home losses -- have covered 79% since 1992 vs. unrested foes off back to back road wins! Even better: the Timberwolves are 17-2-1 ATS their last 20 when getting 2+ points off back to back home losses. Take Minnesota + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-21 | Thunder v. Bucks -10 | Top | 85-98 | Win | 100 | 2 h 52 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Oklahoma City. The Bucks are mired in a long 5-game losing streak -- their longest under coach Mike Budenholzer. And among those five losses was a 114-109 defeat to this Thunder team in Oklahoma City. But that should serve as ample motivation for this Bucks team to come out like a "house on fire" tonight. Notwithstanding its current troubles, Milwaukee is still 42-16 ATS its last 58 at home off back to back losses, including a perfect 4-0 ATS as a double-digit favorite. And it also falls into a 90-46 ATS revenge system of mine which plays on certain team that were upset by their opponent in their previous meeting. Lay it. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-18-21 | Raptors v. Bucks -6 | Top | 110-96 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Toronto. The Bucks are currently riding a 4-game losing streak -- their longest in almost three years, a span of 236 games. This spate of poor play has coincided with the absence of Jrue Holiday, but he will be eligible to play tonight after completing COVID protocols. We'll lay the points with Milwaukee, as it's 42-15 ATS at home off back to back losses, including 11-2 ATS off an upset loss. And the Bucks also fall into a 136-85 ATS regular season revenge system of mine which plays on certain home teams with revenge from a double-digit loss to their opponent earlier in the season. Lay the points with Mike Budenholzer's men. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-17-21 | Knicks v. Magic +4 | Top | 89-107 | Win | 100 | 13 h 6 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic + the points over the New York Knicks. It certainly isn't a surprise that coach Tom Thibodeau is turning around the Knicks. After all, his track record with Chicago, and as a defensive assistant with Boston, is stellar. New York is currently riding a 3-game win streak, and is 5-2 SU and 6-1-1 ATS its last seven games. But New York has now been installed as a mid-priced road favorite at Orlando, even though it's 14-15 on the season. And the last time New York was favored by 4 (or more) points on the road was back on March 28, 2016 -- 349 games ago! By my math, New York is overvalued tonight, and we'll grab the points with an Orlando club which is also starting to play better basketball after a 1-6 SU/ATS stretch in which it lost six games by 9+ points. However, in its last three (all on the road), it notched an upset win, 123-112, at Sacramento, and played Golden State tough in a six-point loss, 111-105. The Magic lost, 109-90, at Phoenix on Sunday, but coach Steve Clifford still remarked that his team's play over the four-game road trip was "the best....that [it's] played." Tonight, Orlando will be back home, where it's 26-9 ATS vs. losing teams when priced from +2.5 to +6 points. And NBA road favorites off a win, and 4 ATS wins, overall, have covered just 208 of 480 vs. non-division foes. |
02-16-21 | Pelicans +1 v. Grizzlies | Top | 144-113 | Win | 100 | 14 h 45 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans over the Memphis Grizzlies. These two teams met 10 days ago, and the Pels defeated the Grizzlies, 118-109, as a 1-point home underdog. Tonight's game is also near-Pk'em, and we'll take New Orleans to snap its current 3-game losing streak. These latest three losses immediately followed a season-best 4-game win streak. And the reason New Orleans lost each of these three games is obvious. They were the three worst defensive games the Pelicans have played this season, as they allowed Chicago, Dallas and Detroit to each shoot over 53% from the floor. But in New Orleans' 4-game win streak immediately before these losses, it held its opponents to 46, 44, 44 and 41% FG shooting. After the loss to Detroit, coach Stan Van Gundy lamented his team's defense, and said, "Nobody blocked out. We didn't compete...as hard as they did." I expect a much better effort on the part of New Orleans tonight. And it should have a lot of confidence vs. the Grizzlies, as it's won the last four meetings by 10, 28, 10 and 9 points, and is 6-1 SU/ATS since 2019, with the average win by 12.42 ppg. Take New Orleans. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-16-21 | Nuggets v. Celtics -3 | Top | 99-112 | Win | 100 | 13 h 60 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics minus the points over Denver. The Nuggets come into this game off a blowout win over the defending champion Lakers, while Boston enters off back-to-back losses to Eastern conference-cellar dwellers Washington and Detroit. The good news for Boston is that .500 (or better) teams off back-to-back upset losses to sub-.333 teams have cashed 62% since 1990 vs. foes off SU/ATS wins. That bodes well for Brad Stevens' men tonight. As does the fact that Denver is a horrid 4-24 ATS on the road off a point spread win vs. foes off a double-digit loss. And it's 5-30 ATS on the road vs. non-division foes, if Denver was off a win by more than 8 points (and 1-19 ATS if the Nuggets also won two games back). Take Boston to blow out Denver. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-15-21 | Rockets +1.5 v. Wizards | Top | 119-131 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 1 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets over the Washington Wizards. The Rockets come into this game on a 5-game SU/ATS losing streak, including an upset loss at New York on Saturday. The Wizards pulled off a big upset yesterday when they won here vs. the Celtics, 104-91, as 6.5-point underdogs. But off that win, we'll fade Washington tonight, as it's 0-4 SU/ATS its last four off a SU win, and 16-33-1 ATS its last 50 off an upset win. Even better: Houston's 49-24-2 ATS on the road vs. a foe off a win, if Houston was off back to back SU/ATS losses. And NBA home teams, off an upset home win, are a poor 171-244 ATS in the regular season vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Take the Rockets on Monday evening. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |

02-14-21 | Cavs +11 v. Clippers | Top | 111-128 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 0 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers + the points over the Los Angeles Clippers. After a solid stretch of basketball which saw Cleveland win five of six games (and go 4-2 ATS), the team has hit the skids with a 1-8 SU and 0-9 ATS mark over its last nine. I look for it to snap its ATS losing streak tonight, as rested NBA teams off 6 (or more) losses, are 255-176, 59% ATS when getting more than 9 points, including 114-65, 64% ATS off back to back ATS defeats. Take Cleveland. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-14-21 | Pelicans -4.5 v. Pistons | Top | 112-123 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 0 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans minus the points over Detroit. The Pistons pulled off an upset at Boston two nights ago, 108-102, as a 7-point road underdog. Faithful followers know I love to go against bad teams off wins. And this would be such an instance. Indeed, the last time Detroit won two games in a row was more than a year ago (Jan. 18, 2020). And this will be the 50th game the Pistons have played since then. Detroit is an awful 3-24 SU and 7-18-2 ATS its last 27 off a win, including 1-8 ATS at home. Take New Orleans minus the points. |
02-14-21 | Celtics -6 v. Wizards | Top | 91-104 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 1 m | Show |
At 1:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics minus the points over Washington. Two nights ago, the Celts were upset, 108-102, as a 7-point home favorite by the Detroit Pistons. They're now on the road in the nation's capital, and will face a Wizards club reeling from back-to-back blowout losses to Toronto (137-115) and New York (109-91). We'll lay the points with Boston, as it's 25-14 ATS off a loss, and 12-1 ATS its last 13 vs. the Wizards when priced from -1.5 to -8.5 points. Take the Celtics minus the points. |
02-13-21 | Heat +6 v. Jazz | Top | 94-112 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 34 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat + the points over the Utah Jazz. Both teams are playing good basketball. The Heat have come around after a slow start, and currently sport a 4-game win streak. Meanwhile, the Jazz have won 17 of 18, including a win over Milwaukee -- the NBA's best team over the past 2+ years -- last night. But NBA teams have generally suffered letdowns after defeating Milwaukee over the last two seasons, including 0-10 ATS when priced from +2 to -6.5 points. Tonight's game sets up well for the Heat, as they'll be playing with a day of rest following Thursday's 101-94 victory at Houston, while the Jazz had to play last night. And the Heat are 31-15 ATS on the road when rested, and playing an unrested foe (including 10-1 ATS if playing a non-division foe off a win). Take Miami. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-11-21 | Pacers -2.5 v. Pistons | Top | 111-95 | Win | 100 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Pacers minus the points over Detroit. The Pacers were buried last night by Brooklyn, as they trailed 62-30 at the half, en route to a 104-94 defeat. So, perhaps it's a good thing that the Pacers won't get any time off to think about that performance, and instead get thrown right back into the fire tonight, in Detroit. The Pistons, coincidentally, also played the Nets in their previous game, but had an opposite result, as they upset the Nets by 11 points, 122-111. Unfortunately for the Pistons, NBA home dogs have only covered 30% over the last 31 years off an upset win, if they were matched up against an unrested division foe off an upset road loss. Even worse, the Pistons are 0-9 SU their last nine division contests, and have covered just six of their last 27 division affairs! Take Indiana. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-10-21 | Clippers -8.5 v. Wolves | Top | 119-112 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 14 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Clippers don't lose very often -- they're 17-8 this season. And with Kawhi Leonard in the fold, they hardly ever lose twice in a row. But it happened for the first time this season, this past weekend, when they were upset at home by both Boston and Sacramento. We'll take the Clippers in this bounce-back situation, as rested road favorites, off back to back upset home losses, are 27-4 SU and 25-5-1 ATS. Even better: the Clippers are 37-15 ATS their last 52 off a loss, including a perfect 7-0 ATS on the road when laying 4+ points. And they're 35-18-2 ATS at Minnesota. Lay the points with the Clippers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-08-21 | Bucks v. Nuggets +4 | Top | 125-112 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 21 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Milwaukee. The Bucks are currently riding a 4-game SU/ATS win streak. But that's not necessarily a good thing when it comes to betting on the Bucks, as they're a dreadful 93-152-7 ATS off 3+ wins. Even worse: this will be the Bucks' 3rd game in four nights. And Eastern Conference teams have covered just 23 of 63 in the high altitude of Denver when playing their 3rd game in four days, if they weren't getting 4+ points. Denver is 22-4 SU its last 26 home games vs. Eastern Conference foes, including 6-1 ATS if the Nuggets lost their previous game. Grab the points with the home team. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-07-21 | Kings v. Clippers -8 | Top | 113-110 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 35 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over the Sacramento Kings. This will be the third meeting this season between these Pacific division rivals, and the Clippers easily took the first two by 115-96 and 138-100 scores. The Clippers had Saturday off following their home upset loss to the Celtics, 119-115, as a 5.5-point favorite on Friday. Meanwhile, the Kings upset Denver, 119-114, in Sacramento yesterday afternoon for their 6th win in 7 games (and 7th straight ATS win). The good news for Kawhi Leonard & Co. is that the Clippers have been exceptional over the last several seasons off a straight-up loss, as they're 42-9 SU and 37-14 ATS off a defeat, including a perfect 5-0 ATS vs. double-revenging foes. Even better: NBA road underdogs of +8 (or more) points off 5+ ATS wins are a dismal 65-102 ATS in the regular season. Lay the points with the Clippers on Sunday. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Warriors v. Mavs -4 | Top | 132-134 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over Golden State. These two teams met on Thursday, and it was an embarrassing 31-point loss for the homestanding Mavericks. But Dallas will get a 2nd bite at the apple tonight, and we'll play on the Mavericks in this rematch. For technical support, consider that home teams have cashed 70.7% in the regular season when playing with revenge from a home upset loss by more than 20 points. Meanwhile, the Warriors have covered just eight of 25 off an upset win, when matched up against an opponent off a SU loss. Lay the points with Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-06-21 | Nuggets -3.5 v. Kings | Top | 114-119 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 4 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over the Sacramento Kings. Both of these teams are playing their best basketball of the season. Denver has won six of its last eight games SU/ATS (though it was blown out by the Lakers, 114-93, two nights ago), while Sacramento has gone 5-1 SU and 6-0 ATS its last six. These two teams met here on December 29, and the Nuggets were upended by the Kings, 125-115. And that was the 2nd straight loss by the Nuggets to the Kings this season. We'll take Denver to avenge that defeat as it's 36-18 ATS when playing with double-revenge, including 7-0 ATS if the Nuggets lost by 15+ points its previous game, and 23-8 ATS if its opponent was off a win. Even better: the Kings are a wallet-busting 16-37 ATS at home off a SU/ATS win vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Take Denver to crush the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-05-21 | Wizards v. Heat -6.5 | Top | 95-122 | Win | 100 | 14 h 39 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Washington. These two Southeast division rivals met last night, here in South Florida, and the Wizards came away with an upset win, 103-100, as a 9-point road underdog. The price is significantly lower for tonight's game, primarily because Russell Westbrook will be on the floor for the Wizards this evening after not playing on Wednesday, while the Heat's Avery Bradley will be sidelined with a calf injury. We'll lay the points with Miami, as it's 43-20 ATS off three point spread defeats, as well as a very strong 50-20 ATS off back to back losses, when matched up against an opponent off a straight-up win. Meanwhile, the Wizards are a wallet-busting 34-63 ATS off an upset road win. Lay the points with the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-03-21 | Suns v. Pelicans +3 | Top | 101-123 | Win | 100 | 16 h 27 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans + the points over the Phoenix Suns. These two teams met in Phoenix on Dec. 29, and the Suns blew out New Orleans by 25 points, 111-86, as a 2-point home favorite. Tonight's game is in New Orleans, and we'll take the Pelicans as a home underdog to avenge that blowout loss. Indeed, the Suns are a horrible 46-73-4 ATS when playing a revenge-minded foe they defeated by 20+ points earlier in the season, including 6-23-1 ATS on the road if their opponent was off back to back losses, while New Orleans has gone 10-0-1 ATS at home when playing with revenge from a 25-point loss. And the Pelicans are also 14-8 ATS in the last 22 meetings with the Suns. Finally, the Pelicans fall into a 93-36 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off back to back SU/ATS losses vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS wins. Take New Orleans + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-02-21 | Grizzlies v. Pacers -5.5 | Top | 116-134 | Win | 100 | 16 h 52 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Pacers minus the points over Memphis. The Grizzlies played last night in San Antonio, and completed a 2-game sweep of the Spurs with 133-102 blowout win. And that followed a 129-112 victory over San Antonio on Saturday. But off those two huge upset wins, we'll fade the unrested Grizzlies in Indianapolis tonight. Indeed, teams off back-to-back upset wins, in which they scored 120+ points, have gone 0-14-1 ATS if they won their previous game by double-digits, and weren't favored by 10+ points in their current game. Even better: the Pacers are off back-to-back upset losses to Philly and Charlotte. But Indiana is an awesome 69-33 ATS off back to back ATS losses, if they were favored by less than 14 points at home, and matched up against an opponent off a win. Lay the points with Indiana. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-01-21 | Suns v. Mavs -136 | Top | 109-108 | Loss | -136 | 4 h 26 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks over Phoenix. The Mavs are currently on a 5-game SU/ATS losing streak following a six-point loss to these Suns two nights ago. But Dallas will get a 2nd bite at the apple this evening, and we'll lay the points with the revenge-minded Mavs. Dallas is a super 24-9 ATS off a loss, when playing with revenge from a home loss against an opponent off a SU win. And Phoenix is an awful 11-22 ATS when off an upset road win, and not getting double digits. And it's 21-32 ATS vs. revenge-minded losing teams. Finally, Dallas falls into 232-119 and 83-52 ATS revenge systems of mine. Take Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-31-21 | Jazz v. Nuggets +1.5 | Top | 117-128 | Win | 100 | 3 h 29 m | Show |
At 3:35 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets + the points over Utah. The Jazz have won and covered 11 straight, including a 109-105 win over the Nuggets when these two teams met in Salt Lake City two weeks ago. Today's game is in Denver, and we'll take the homestanding Nuggets to avenge that loss. Indeed, NBA teams off 5 straight ATS wins are a soft 47-83 ATS when not favored by 3+ points, if their opponent lost and failed to cover by more than 9 points in its previous game. With the Nuggets in off a double-digit SU/ATS loss to the Spurs, 119-109, on Friday, and also 29-19 ATS their last 48 when playing with revenge, we'll grab the points with the home dog today. |
01-30-21 | Kings v. Heat -5 | Top | 104-105 | Loss | -112 | 11 h 34 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Sacramento. The Kings won last night against Toronto, as an underdog. And that was their 2nd straight upset win, as they won at Orlando on Wednesday. Sacramento now will play a Miami team which should be in an ornery mood following five straight losses. But all five of those games were vs. talented opposition (Raptors, Nuggets, Clippers, Nets (twice)). The Heat will no doubt relish tonight's game against the 8-10 Kings. And Miami is 50-19 ATS off back to back losses when playing an opponent off a SU win. And it's 43-18 ATS on a 3-game point spread losing streak. Take Miami minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Mavs +4 v. Jazz | Top | 101-120 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, on ESPN-TV, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over Utah. The Jazz blew out the Mavs, 116-104, on Wednesday night, but we'll come right back with Dallas in this rematch. The Jazz have now won and covered 10 straight. But NBA home teams on 10-game ATS win streaks have cashed just 1 of 15 if they covered by 5+ points in their previous game. And Dallas is a solid 112-66 ATS off a loss, if its opponent is off a win, including 20-10 ATS as a road underdog with revenge. Take the Mavericks + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Nets -9 v. Thunder | Top | 147-125 | Win | 100 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder return home off back to back upset wins over the Trail Blazers and Suns, and will welcome the Nets, who they defeated earlier this month in Brooklyn, 129-116. We'll go against OKC, and take the revenge-minded Nets, as underdogs have covered just 97 of 241 off back to back upset wins, if they were playing a non-division foe who it defeated earlier in the season. Additionally, the Nets are a super 42-19 ATS on the road when playing with revenge. Take Brooklyn minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-29-21 | Clippers v. Magic -3.5 | Top | 116-90 | Loss | -108 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic minus the points over the Los Angeles Clippers. Last night, Los Angeles went into Miami, and upset the Heat, 109-105, as a 5-point underdog. And that was L.A.'s eighth win in its last nine games. But off that win, we will fade the Clippers in this game, as they're 0-11 ATS as an underdog (or PK) in non-division games, if they pulled off an upset win in their previous game. Take Orlando. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-27-21 | Mavs +4 v. Jazz | Top | 104-116 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 19 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over Utah. The Jazz have ripped off 9 straight wins (and covers), and now welcome the Mavericks for a 2-game series in Salt Lake City. The Mavericks are an awesome 88-48 ATS off a SU/ATS loss when they're playing an opponent off a win, including a terrific 35-11 ATS when Dallas owned a losing record, and its opponent had a winning record. Even better: Utah falls into a negative 13-42 ATS system of mine which goes against certain teams on extended win streaks. Take Dallas to upset the Jazz tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-26-21 | Wizards +1.5 v. Rockets | Top | 88-107 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 44 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards over the Houston Rockets. In their previous two games, the Rockets pulled upsets on the road, as they defeated Detroit, 103-102, as a 3-point dog, and Dallas, 133-108, as a 7-point dog. Houston's now back home to take on the Wizards, who lost by 20 at San Antonio on Sunday. We'll take Washington, as .400 (or worse) teams (like Houston) have covered just 29.6% since 1990 off back to back upset road wins, if they were matched up against an opponent off a double-digit loss. Take the Wizards. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-24-21 | Cavs v. Celtics -7 | 103-141 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics minus the points over Cleveland. The Cavaliers have won their last three games, and all three were upset wins, including 147-135 and 125-113 victories over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday and Friday. Cleveland will now take to the road, and play a Celtics team looking to snap a 3-game losing streak. We'll go against Cleveland, as teams off back to back upset wins, in which they scored 120+ points in those two triumphs, are 2-19 ATS their last 21. Even worse for Cleveland: winning teams are 0-9-1 ATS as underdogs, if the were off 3+ upset wins, and were matched up against a .500 (or better) foe. Take the Celtics minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-23-21 | Warriors +6.5 v. Jazz | Top | 108-127 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 59 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors + the points over Utah. The Jazz own the longest win streak in the league this season -- currently at 7 games. And they've also covered the spread in each of those seven victories. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on Utah tonight against a Warriors team off a 15-point upset loss to the Knicks on Thursday. But teams on a 5-game (or better) ATS win streak have only covered 38% over the last 31 years vs. foes off 15-point (or worse) upset losses. That bodes well for Steve Kerr's men tonight. As does the fact that Golden State is an awesome 16-0 ATS as a road underdog priced from +4.5 to +8.5, if it lost its previous game, and it was matched up against a winning opponent which won its previous game. Take Golden State + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-22-21 | Knicks v. Kings -4 | Top | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 14 h 32 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings minus the points over the New York Knicks. Last night, Tom Thibodeau's troops pulled off their 3rd straight upset, as they whipped the Warriors, 119-104, as 5-point road underdogs. They're now installed as an underdog against the Sacramento Kings, who had last night off after dropping their 4th straight game on Wednesday, 115-96, vs. the Clippers. Unfortunately for the Knicks, teams off 3 straight upset wins are a poor 3-14 ATS their last 17 when not favored by more than 3 points. Even better: unrested teams off an upset win, and 3 ATS wins, overall, have cashed just 38% on the road since 1990 vs. foes off 3 ATS losses. Take Sacramento to blow out New York. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-22-21 | Nets -9.5 v. Cavs | Top | 113-125 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 3 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over Cleveland. These two teams played two nights here, in Cleveland, and the Cavaliers came away with a 147-135 victory, in overtime. And that was the 2nd straight upset win earned by the Cavaliers, as they defeated the Knicks, 106-103, as a 2.5-point home dog last Friday. We'll go against Cleveland tonight, as Brooklyn is 42-17 ATS on the road when playing with revenge, including a perfect 14-0 ATS vs. foes with a win percentage between .450 and .572. And double-digit underdogs, off back to back upset wins, are a dreadful 52-83-3 ATS vs. non-division foes, including 10-25 ATS if their foe was playing with revenge. Lay the points with Brooklyn. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-20-21 | Suns -5.5 v. Rockets | Top | 109-103 | Win | 100 | 17 h 43 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over Houston. The Suns will finish up their 5-game road trip tonight, and look to bounce back off losses in their last two games -- both as road favorites. The good news for Phoenix is that it's 42-13-1 ATS off an upset road loss, including 11-2 ATS if they also lost two games back. And Houston is 0-8 ATS its last eight as home dogs of +4 (or more) points vs. winning opposition. Take Phoenix. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-18-21 | Suns -3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 104-108 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over the Memphis Grizzlies. When the Suns last took the court seven days ago, they suffered an upset road loss at the hands of the Washington Wizards, 128-107. That lowered Phoenix's record to 7-4 this season (4-3 road; 3-1 home), an impressive mark which includes road wins at Utah, Denver and Indiana. Phoenix has had the last week off due to the coronavirus protocols, so they'll be very well-rested when they take on the Grizzlies. Memphis took advantage of a Joel Embiid-less 76ers squad on Saturday to win its fourth straight game, 106-104. But the Grizz are still just 2-5 SU and 2-4-1 ATS at home this season. We'll lay the points with Phoenix, as .625 (or better) road favorites have covered 59% since 1991 if they played with at least 3 more days of rest than their opponent. Even better: the Suns are 10-0 ATS their last 10, and 42-12 ATS their last 54 off an upset road defeat. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-17-21 | Pacers v. Clippers -6 | Top | 96-129 | Win | 100 | 16 h 45 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over Indiana. Both of these teams come into tonight's game on win streaks. Indiana has won and covered two straight, while the Clippers have won each of their last three games. But the key factor for our play tonight is that Indiana won its last two games as an underdog. And the Pacers are a horrid 0-19 ATS off back to back covers as an underdog, if they've owned a win percentage greater than .575, and also won their previous game straight-up. Meanwhile, the Clippers are 91-63 ATS when favored, including 15-2 ATS vs. foes off an upset road win. Take Los Angeles. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-17-21 | Knicks +8 v. Celtics | Top | 105-75 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
At 1:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Knicks + the points over Boston. In this Atlantic Division match-up, we'll take Tom Thibodeau's Knicks as a road underdog. After winning 5 of 6 games -- both SU and ATS -- the Knicks have hit the skids, with five straight losses (also both SU and ATS). But in none of those five games were the Knicks installed as an underdog of 6+ points (as they are this afternoon). And New York is 4-1 ATS their last five when getting 6+ points. Moreover, the Knicks fall into one of my favorite NBA systems today. it's cashed 80.9% over the last 31 years, and what we want to do is play on .375 (or better) rested road teams in division games, if they're an underdog of +5 (or more) points, and off five SU/ATS losses. Take New York + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-16-21 | Rockets v. Spurs -7 | Top | 91-103 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points over Houston. The Spurs blew a big 4th quarter lead vs. the Rockets on Thursday, and lost 109-105. After the game, coach Gregg Popovich questioned his players' effort. Certainly, his team heard his message, and will come out focused this evening. And San Antonio also generally does well in the regular season when playing with revenge, including 26-8 ATS their last 34 at home in this role (and 3-0 ATS vs. division rivals if the Spurs lost at home in the previous meeting). Take San Antonio to blow out Houston. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-12-21 | Pacers +3 v. Warriors | Top | 104-95 | Win | 100 | 14 h 43 m | Show |
At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the Indiana Pacers + the points over Golden State. The Warriors are now 6-4 after back to back upset wins over the Clippers and Raptors. But favorites are a poor 37% ATS at home off back to back upset wins, if they won at home in their previous game, and were now matched up against a .500 (or better) foe. Take the Pacers + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

01-12-21 | Spurs -2 v. Thunder | Top | 112-102 | Win | 100 | 11 h 14 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points over Oklahoma City. San Antone was blown out by Minnesota in the 2nd of a back-to-back series in Minneapolis. But off that blowout loss, we'll take Gregg Popovich's crew tonight, as they're 65-42 ATS as a road favorite off a SU loss where they failed to cover by double-digits. Meanwhile, the Thunder return home off a 5-game road trip in which they went 4-1 (including 3 upset wins over the last week). Unfortunately for the Thunder, underdogs off 3 upset road wins have covered just 40% over the past 31 years. Take San Antonio minus the points. |
01-12-21 | Lakers v. Rockets +6 | Top | 117-100 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets + the points over Los Angeles. The Rockets lost round 1 in this 2-game series vs. the champs, but we'll take them to win round 2 tonight. On Sunday, the Lakers blew out Houston here at the Toyota Center, 120-102. But Houston has covered 64% since 1990 as a home dog off a home loss, if their foe was off back to back wins. And the Lakers have covered just 29 of 94 regular season games vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss, if that foe was playing with revenge from a home loss earlier in the season to the Lakers. Take Houston in this home underdog role. |
01-11-21 | Raptors +5 v. Blazers | Top | 111-112 | Win | 100 | 14 h 42 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors + the points over the Portland Trail Blazers. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The 2019 Champion Raptors are now 2-7 SU/ATS after losing to the 2018 Champion Warriors last night, 106-105. But at least the Warriors are a respectable 6-4 SU/5-5 ATS. The Raptors will now travel up to Portland to take on a Trail Blazers team which won and covered two straight games for the first time all season, with SU/ATS wins over the T-Wolves and Kings. But it's worth noting that the point spread for tonight's game is the biggest underdog spread for Toronto all season. And the Raptors are 12-4 ATS over the last 4 regular seasons when getting 5+ points in a game. Meanwhile, Portland has covered just 6 of 21 off back to back ATS wins. And it also falls into a negative 35-91 ATS system of mine which plays against certain teams off back to back SU/ATS wins vs. foes off upset losses. Grab the points with Nick Nurse's men tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-10-21 | Lakers v. Rockets +3 | Top | 120-102 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 47 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets + the points over Los Angeles. We played on the Rockets in their previous game, and were rewarded with a 42-point blowout win over Orlando -- Houston's best game of this young season. Going into Friday's contest, the Rockets were 2-4 SU/ATS, and had yet to win by double-digits. The Lakers also haven't been making too many friends "in Vegas," as they've only covered the spread in four of their 10 games, including 0-3 ATS their last three. These two teams met in last year's post-season tournament, and the Lakers won the 7-game series, 4-games-to-1 after the Rockets took the opening game. But Houston won 2 of last year's 3 regular season games, and I look for it to upset Los Angeles this evening, as well, as it falls into several of my very best post-season revenge systems. Even better: this will be Los Angeles' 3rd game in four nights, and LeBron James' teams have covered just 43% in his career when playing their 3rd game in four nights, if favored vs. winning opponents, while NBA teams have covered just 30 of their last 80 when playing their 3rd game in four nights, if they won the previous two games. Finally, the Rockets are a solid 26-14 ATS as rested home underdogs if they lost the previous meeting to their opponent. Grab the points with the home underdog. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-09-21 | Spurs v. Wolves +6.5 | Top | 125-122 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Timberwolves + the points over San Antonio. We played on the Spurs in each of their last two games, and were rewarded with upset wins over both the Clippers and Lakers. But off those two big upset wins, we will fade the Spurs as a road favorite tonight. Indeed, teams off back to back upset wins are a soft 42% as favorites vs. foes with losing SU/ATS records. And the Spurs have covered 12 of their last 39 when favored, including 1-9 ATS vs. foes off back to back losses. Take Minnesota. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie |
01-09-21 | Hawks -5 v. Hornets | Top | 105-113 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Atlanta Hawks minus the points over Charlotte. The Hornets come into this game off back to back upset wins over the Pelicans last night, and these Hawks on Wednesday. But off those two upset road wins, we'll fade Charlotte tonight, and take the revenge-minded Hawks. Since 1990, teams off back to back upset wins on the road have covered just 28% as a home underdog vs. revenge-minded foes. Take Atlanta. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-08-21 | Clippers v. Warriors +6 | Top | 105-115 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors + the points over the LA Clippers. We played on Los Angeles on Wednesday, as a 4-point road favorite, and were rewarded with a 7-point victory. But we will take Golden State in this rematch, as it's 52-27-1 ATS vs. division rivals if it lost its previous game, while the Clippers are 13-35 ATS off a SU/ATS win, when favored by 4+ points vs. a revenge-minded foe. Grab the points with the Warriors. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-08-21 | Raptors -5 v. Kings | Top | 144-123 | Win | 100 | 13 h 42 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors minus the points over Sacramento. The Raptors have (unbelievably) gotten off to a 1-6 start this season. But there's no reason to panic. Their slow start is partly due to bad luck, as they could have won/covered three of their six SU/ATS losses. And a difficult schedule also hasn't helped. But tonight, the Raptors will play a team they're significantly better than, and I believe they'll take out their frustrations tonight, and blow out Sacramento. For technical support, consider that Toronto is 15-6 ATS off 3 ATS losses, including 12-2 ATS off a loss. And the Kings are 11-22 ATS as a home dog of more than 2 points vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS wins. Lay the points with the Raptors. |
01-08-21 | Magic v. Rockets -6.5 | Top | 90-132 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Houston Rockets minus the points over Orlando. The Rockets check in off back to back SU/ATS losses to Dallas and Indiana, and have been installed as a home favorite vs. Orlando, which has won its last two games (both SU and ATS). We'll lay the points with the Rockets, as they've covered 58% off back to back losses, if they failed to cover their previous game, and their opponent is off back to back SU/ATS wins. Meanwhile, the Magic are a poor 52-74 ATS as single-digit underdogs vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS losses. Take Houston. |
01-07-21 | Spurs +9 v. Lakers | Top | 118-109 | Win | 100 | 17 h 7 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over the Los Angeles Lakers. Perhaps the third time will be the charm for Gregg Popovich's men. They've played Los Angeles twice already this season, with both games in the Alamo City ending in defeat for the Silver and Black. But after getting blown out in Game #1, Game #2 went down to the wire for a 109-103 Lakers victory. We played on San Antone in that game as a 7-point underdog, and we'll play on them here, at Los Angeles. The Spurs come into this game off an upset win over the Clippers on Tuesday, and are now a perfect 3-0 ATS on the road this season. They're also 57-36 ATS on the road vs. non-division foes in the regular season when playing with revenge, including 14-7 ATS when playing with double-revenge. Meanwhile, the Lakers are 26-43 ATS as a favorite in the regular season vs. a foe they defeated twice earlier in the season. Finally, San Antonio falls into a 90-40 ATS revenge system of mine. Take the Spurs. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-06-21 | Clippers -2 v. Warriors | Top | 108-101 | Win | 100 | 12 h 10 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Clippers minus the points over the Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr's men must like the number 137, as that's been their point total in each of their last two games. They poured in 137 in a 31-point upset win over Sacramento on Monday, and also scored 137 vs. Portland the night before that, in a 15-point win. But off those back to back upsets, we'll fade Golden State tonight. And they will be welcoming a Clippers team in an ornery mood off an upset home loss yesterday to San Antonio. That was Los Angeles' 3rd loss of the season. In their previous defeats, they bounced back to win and cover vs. Minnesota (124-101) and Phoenix (112-107). L.A. is now 34-13 ATS off a loss, while the Warriors are a poor 18-33 ATS off a win. And NBA underdogs are a horrid 2-16 ATS after scoring 120+ in back to back upset wins. Take the Clippers tonight to crush Golden State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-06-21 | Thunder +8 v. Pelicans | Top | 111-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma City Thunder + the points over New Orleans. These two teams met last Thursday in Oklahoma, and the Pelicans blew out the Thunder, 113-80, as a 6-point road favorite. We'll take OKC in this re-match, as the Thunder are 18-7 ATS their last 25 when playing with revenge, including 8-0 ATS when priced from +4 to +10 points. Meanwhile, the Pelicans have covered just 8 of 22 as a favorite vs. revenge-minded foes, and are 8-21 ATS at home off a SU loss. Finally, the Thunder fall into a 143-83 ATS revenge system of mine. Grab the points with OKC. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-06-21 | Jazz -7 v. Knicks | Top | 100-112 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 32 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Utah Jazz minus the points over New York. The Knicks have won two straight -- both as big underdogs -- while the Jazz were blown out last night by 34 points in Brooklyn. It will be a short trip to Madison Square Garden to face the Knicks on Wednesday, and we'll lay the points with Utah. Since 1990, .563 (or better) NBA teams have cashed 63% after losing their previous game by more than 28 points, if their opponent was off back to back wins. And home dogs off upset road wins have cashed just 39% over the last 31 years vs. foes off upset road losses. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-05-21 | Wolves +11.5 v. Nuggets | Top | 116-123 | Win | 100 | 11 h 14 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Timberwolves + the points over the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets blew out Minnesota, 124-109, on Sunday, in Minneapolis. But we'll take Minnesota in the rematch tonight. And, unlike Sunday's game, this will be played in Denver. That's good news for the T-Wolves, who are 20-2 ATS their last 22 in Denver, when priced as an underdog of +1.5 to +15 points. And, regardless of where the point spread is, the ROAD TEAM has gone 41-10-1 ATS its last 52 in this series! That's one reason I love Minnesota tonight. Another is that rested, revenge-minded double-digit underdogs are 300-234 ATS against division rivals. Take Minnesota + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-05-21 | Lakers v. Grizzlies +9 | Top | 94-92 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies + the points over the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers bested Memphis here, on Beale Street, on Sunday, by a 108-94 count. That was the Lakers' 3rd straight road win. Unfortunately for the defending champs, they're a dreadful 110-163-4 ATS when favored by 8+ points against a revenge-minded opponent, including 21-58 their last 79 if they won by more than 5 points in the previous meeting. And the Lakers also fall into a negative 40-84 ATS system of mine which fades certain road favorites that were playing a revenge-minded foe. Take Memphis + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-04-21 | Kings -2 v. Warriors | Top | 106-137 | Loss | -112 | 14 h 50 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento Kings + the points over Golden State. We had a big play on the Warriors last night, and were rewarded with an upset win by Steph Curry (62 points) and Co. against Portland. But off that win, we will fade Steve Kerr's crew tonight, as Golden State falls into negative 99-143, 56-118 and 33-70 ATS systems of mine that fade certain teams off upset wins. Even worse for the Warriors: Golden State is 17-33 ATS off a straight-up win, while Sacramento is 26-11 ATS on the road off a road loss. Lay the small number with the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-04-21 | Mavs +3 v. Rockets | Top | 113-100 | Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over Houston. The Mavericks lost their previous game, last night, at Chicago, 118-108. And Dallas entered that game as a 4-point favorite. Meanwhile, the Rockets downed Sacramento, 102-94, as a 2-point home underdog on Saturday. We'll take the Mavericks to bounce back tonight, as they're 111-63 ATS off a loss, if matched up against an opponent which was off a win. And the Rockets are a woeful 1-13 ATS their last 14 off an upset win at home, if matched up against an opponent which failed to cover the spread by 10+ points in its previous game. Finally, the Rockets fall into negative 2-29, 31-69 and 13-54 ATS systems of mine. Take Dallas + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-02-21 | Cavs +7 v. Hawks | Top | 96-91 | Win | 100 | 11 h 28 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers + the points over the Atlanta Hawks. The Cavaliers were absolutely annihilated in their previous game -- a 119-99 defeat at Indiana on Thursday. The Cavaliers had last night off, but Atlanta was in action at Brooklyn, and pulled off a big upset as a 6.5-point underdog, 114-96. That sets up Cleveland well tonight, as they will be rested against an unrested foe. And the Hawks are a dreadful 44-85 ATS vs. rested foes off 20-point (or worse) defeats. Take Cleveland + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-01-21 | Lakers v. Spurs +7 | Top | 109-103 | Win | 100 | 13 h 20 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over the Los Angeles Lakers. This is the 2nd of a back-to-back match-up here in San Antonio. The Lakers won the first game on Wednesday, 121-107. But we'll take the points with the Spurs tonight, as they're 21-4 ATS their last 25 at home when playing with revenge against .550 (or better) foes. Take San Antonio. |
01-01-21 | Bulls v. Bucks -14.5 | Top | 96-126 | Win | 100 | 13 h 20 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Chicago. This will be the 3rd time this season we played on Milwaukee after it lost its previous game. We easily cashed the first two, as Milwaukee blew out Golden State (138-99) and Miami (144-97) after its first two losses. Now, it gets to take out its frustration on an unrested Chicago Bulls squad. The Bulls won their game last night in Washington. But Chicago is 14-31 ATS off a win, while the Bucks are 29-10 ATS in the regular season off a loss. Lay the double-digits with the Bucks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
01-01-21 | Grizzlies +5 v. Hornets | Top | 108-93 | Win | 100 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies + the points over Charlotte. The Hornets come into tonight's game off back to back upsets of Brooklyn and Dallas. And they were underdogs of +11.5 and +8 points, respectively, in those games. Unfortunately, NBA teams off back to back wins as underdogs of +8 (or more points), have cashed just 3 of 21 games vs. .470 (or worse) foes. Take Memphis + the points. |
01-01-21 | Heat v. Mavs -1.5 | Top | 83-93 | Win | 100 | 12 h 19 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks over the Miami Heat. The Mavericks lost here, at home, on Wednesday to Charlotte. And Dallas was an 8-point favorite in that game. But, perhaps, that loss should not have come as a surprise. After all, Dallas exacted revenge in their game previous to that when they blew out the Clippers by 51 points. So, a letdown was certainly in order. Now, however, the Mavericks are locked into their best point spread role. The Mavericks are a powerful 110-63-5 ATS off a loss when they're matched up against an opponent off a win. And Dallas also falls into a 52-12 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off upset defeats. Take the Mavericks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
12-31-20 | Pelicans -5.5 v. Thunder | Top | 113-80 | Win | 100 | 12 h 32 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans minus the points over Oklahoma City. The Pels are off a 25-point loss at Phoenix, but now fall into a 400-293 ATS system of mine which plays on certain road favorites off road defeats. Even better: .345 (or worse) NBA teams have gone 83-136-4 ATS at home if they weren't favored by more than 5 points, and their opponent was off a loss by 24+ points. Take New Orleans to bounce back tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie |
12-31-20 | Knicks v. Raptors -9 | Top | 83-100 | Win | 100 | 11 h 3 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors minus the points over New York. Out of the many surprises so far this season, perhaps none is as surprising as Toronto's 0-3 start. The 2019 Champs will try to get off the schneid tonight in this "home" game in Tampa. And Toronto is 17-1 ATS at home in the regular season vs. division rivals when Toronto was favored by less than 10 points. Lay the points with the Raptors. |
12-31-20 | Bulls v. Wizards -5 | Top | 133-130 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards minus the points over the Chicago Bulls. These two teams met on Tuesday, and the Bulls upended Washington, 115-107, as a 6-point road underdog. But that game as placed the Wizards in 100-57, 165-101 and 213-133 ATS revenge systems of mine. Additionally, as faithful followers know, I love to go against bad NBA teams off wins. And the Bulls are a bad team. Last season, Chicago won just 33.8% of its games. And it's a dreadful 8-36 SU and 13-31 ATS its last 44 games off a victory. Take Washington. |
12-29-20 | Bucks -5.5 v. Heat | 144-97 | Win | 100 | 12 h 28 m | Show
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Miami. We played on Milwaukee on Christmas Day vs. Golden State, as the Bucks came into that game off a SU loss to the Celtics. And, as I noted then, Milwaukee's been "money-in-the-bank" in the regular season off a loss ever since coach Mike Budenholzer was hired, as it's 33-5 SU and 28-10 ATS in this role. I won't go against those numbers. And especially not tonight when Milwaukee will be out to avenge its playoff series ouster by Miami last summer. Take the Bucks to blow out the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
12-29-20 | Knicks +3.5 v. Cavs | Top | 95-86 | Win | 100 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Knicks + the points over Cleveland. The Cavaliers have burst out to a 3-0 SU/ATS start this season. But the thing to bear in mind is that the Cavs were underdogs in each of those three games. Now, for tonight's game vs. the Knicks, the Cavaliers have been installed as a favorite. And, notwithstanding their current 3-0 record, the Cavs won just 29% of their games last seasons, and are NOT a very good team. Similar to our play last night against the Atlanta Hawks as a big favorite vs. the Pistons, we're going to fade Cleveland tonight as it cannot be relied up to lay points -- even to teams like the Knicks. Indeed, last season, Cleveland was a disastrous 0-7 ATS as a favorite (and it won just one of those seven games, straight-up)! Take New York + the points. |
12-29-20 | Celtics -1 v. Pacers | Top | 116-111 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics over the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers won the first of this back-to-back series in Indianapolis, with a 108-107 upset victory on Sunday, which moved their record to 3-0. But off their upset win, we'll fade Indiana in the rematch, as NBA teams with a W/L Pct > .600 have covered just 51 of 124 off an upset home win vs. foes off an upset loss. And Boston's 20-11 ATS on the road off an upset loss. Take the Celtics. |
12-29-20 | Raptors +2.5 v. 76ers | Top | 93-100 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 55 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors + the points over Philadelphia. The Raptors are 0-2 SU/ATS after dropping their first two games to the Pelicans and Spurs. But the Raptors are a solid 58-29 ATS off exactly 2 losses, which bodes well for them in Philly tonight. Additionally, NBA teams off back to back upset losses to start a season have cashed 62% over the last 41 years. And, finally, Philly has covered just 3 of 23 as a division favorite vs. foes off an upset loss that don't have a winning ATS record. Take Toronto + the points tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
12-28-20 | Jazz -7.5 v. Thunder | Top | 110-109 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 16 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Utah Jazz minus the points over Oklahoma City. The Jazz were upset, 116-111, at home by the Timberwolves on Saturday night. And Utah was a 9-point favorite in that game. Tonight, they're a big road favorite, and we'll lay the points. For technical support, the Jazz are a solid 67-38 ATS as a favorite of -3 (or more) points off an upset home loss when playing a .250 (or better) opponent, including 18-0 ATS their last 18 if the Jazz didn't own a winning record. Take Utah minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
12-28-20 | Pistons +10 v. Hawks | Top | 120-128 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Pistons + the points over the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta's off to a 2-0 start notwithstanding the fact that it won less than 30% of its games last season. Now, it's a huge home favorite against the 0-2 Pistons. But Atlanta can't be trusted to lay this number, as it has covered just 23 of 65 as a home favorite of -9 (or more) points. We'll take the points with Detroit, as NBA home teams that are undefeated on the season (like Atlanta) have covered just 26.0% over the last 31 years if they had a sub-.400 record the previous season. Take Detroit + the points. |
12-28-20 | Grizzlies +7.5 v. Nets | Top | 116-111 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies + the points over the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets were favored by 11 points last night at Charlotte, but were upset, 106-104. Tonight, they're back home in Brooklyn, and the knee-jerk reaction might be to play on Brooklyn to bounce back against the 0-2 Grizzlies. But NBA home teams off an upset road loss in which they were favored by more than 9 points have covered just 29.6% since 1992 when playing a losing team off a SU loss. Take Memphis + the points. |
12-27-20 | Suns -3 v. Kings | Top | 116-100 | Win | 100 | 13 h 10 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points over Sacramento. The Kings upset Phoenix, 106-103, last night to move to 2-0 on the season. The Pacific Division foes will face off in Sacramento once again this evening, and we'll lay the points with the Suns in the rematch. Sacramento is a poor 16-39 ATS at home off a SU/ATS win, when playing an opponent off a SU/ATS loss. And, finally, road favorites off an upset road loss have covered 70% since 2008 vs. foes off an upset win at home, if their foe also was off back to back wins. Take Phoenix to blow out Sacramento. Good luck as always...Al McMordie. |
12-27-20 | Magic v. Wizards -1 | Top | 120-113 | Loss | -104 | 11 h 10 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards over the Orlando Magic. We played (and lost) on the Wizards last night vs. this Magic squad, but will come right back with Washington on this Sunday. Like last night's game, this will also be played in Washington, D.C., as the NBA has scheduled back-to-back games at the same venue to limit travel in the COVID-19 environment. The Wizards fall into a 96-51 ATS 'revenge' system of mine which plays on certain teams that were upset at home in their previous meeting. And teams off a SU loss have covered 61.5% over the last 31 years vs. foes off back to back upset wins to start the season. Finally, winning teams off back to back upset wins, that covered each of those two games by 10+ points, have gone 117-176 ATS, including 19-48 ATS vs. division rivals. Take the Wizards. |

12-27-20 | Spurs v. Pelicans -5 | Top | 95-98 | Loss | -107 | 11 h 9 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New Orleans Pelicans minus the points over the San Antonio Spurs. We played against both New Orleans and San Antonio in their previous games. We cashed the Heat vs. the Pelicans, in a 111-98 Christmas Day win, but lost last night with the Raptors, who were outscored 9-0 down the stretch to fall to the Spurs, 119-114. We will play against Gregg Popovich's crew again tonight, as they're 7-37 SU and 16-27-1 ATS as underdogs of +4 or more points vs. Western Conference rivals. And they have also covered just 25.8% over the last 31 years on the road vs. .500 (or better) foes off a loss by more than 8 points. Take the Pelicans. |

12-27-20 | Mavs +5 v. Clippers | Top | 124-73 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
At 3:35 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks + the points over the LA Clippers. The Mavericks lost to the Clippers in last year's playoffs, 4 games to 2. And that series defeat has triggered several of my best NBA Playoff revenge systems, with records of 76-45, 96-51 and 31-19 ATS since 1990. It's true that Dallas has gotten off to an 0-2 start, while LA is undefeated after its first two games -- both on the road. But the Mavs are 109-63-5 ATS off a SU loss when playing an opponent off a SU win, including 15-5 ATS when the Mavs lost by more than 20 in their previous game. And undefeated NBA teams, that won 57+ percent of their games the previous season, have covered their home openers just 33.9% since 1991. Take the Mavericks. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

12-26-20 | Raptors -1 v. Spurs | Top | 114-119 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Raptors over the San Antonio Spurs. The Raptors blew a 57-50 halftime lead against the New Orleans Pelicans in their season opener, and fell by 14, 113-99, at home. Meanwhile, the Spurs upset Memphis on Beale Street, 131-119. But off that win, we will fade Gregg Popovich's crew tonight, as the once-reliable Spurs are now a wallet-breaking 1-16 ATS at home off a win since March 20, 2019! In contrast, over the last two years, the Raptors have been exceptionally reliable with Nick Nurse at the helm. The Raptors were 53-19 (.736) last season, including a 27-9 record on the road. Moreover, the Raptors are an awesome 12-1 ATS their last 13 off a loss by more than 11 points. And their 26-11 ATS off an ATS defeat. Take Toronto. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

12-26-20 | Pacers v. Bulls +4.5 | Top | 125-106 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 44 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Chicago Bulls + the points over Indiana. The Pacers won by 14, 114-107, vs. the New York Knicks on Wednesday, while Chicago was blown out by 20, 124-104, by the Atlanta Hawks. The knee-jerk reaction might be to fade Chicago off that dismal performance. But consider that NBA teams off a loss by 20+ points in their season opener have covered 70% since 1990 when not getting more than 7 points in Game 2. Even better: mid-priced NBA road favorites of -4 to -8.5 points have covered just 10 of 35 off a win in their season opener at home, including 1-11 ATS vs. division rivals. Take Chicago + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

12-26-20 | Magic v. Wizards -2 | Top | 130-120 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards minus the points over Orlando. The Magic upset Miami, at home, 113-107, on Wednesday, while Washington lost by an identical score to the 76ers, but covered the spread as a 7-point road underdog. The silver lining for the Wizards is that NBA teams that lost, but covered the spread in their season opener, have proceeded to cover 67.5% in Game 2 since 2008, including 75% when not favored by 3+ points. Meanwhile, the Magic have covered just 7 of 23 off an upset home win. and they're also 13-21-1 ATS their last 35 vs. Washington. Lay the points. |

12-26-20 | Cavs v. Pistons -2 | Top | 128-119 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Pistons minus the points over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons lost by 10, 111-101, at Minnesota, on Wednesday, while the Cavaliers won their home opener, 121-114, against Charlotte. But the Cavs were the Eastern Conference's worst team last season, with a 19-46 record. And NBA teams playing their home opener, like Detroit, have cashed 67% since 1991 if they were off a double-digit loss, and were playing an opponent off a win in its home opener, if that opponent had a worse record the previous season. Take Detroit minus the points. |
