Rating: 5 Unit CFB Game of the Month The Bearcats have been as solid play for the past decade, with six double-digit win seasons since '07, & eight years with at least 9 wins, routing BC, 38-6, in last year's Birmingham Bowl. Returning 15 starters, including QB Ridder, who is in off a brilliant display in last week's rout of previously unbeaten SMU (4 TDs with 0 interceptions, & 179 rushing yards) has elevated them to the 7th spot in this week's polls. Memphis sure can score, but field the worst defense in the land. Cincinnati has been pointing to this one all year, since losing to the Tigers twice last year.

He is in off tossing 4 TDs vs stellar Pitt defense, 3 of them of the long range variety: 35, 38, & 45 yards. That only opens it up for UM's overland game, which has come from #121 in '19, to #21 in '20. Eliminating its game with Clemson, the 'Canes have averaged 35.3 ppg. Rating: 4 Unit Bowl Game of the Month From 1996-2009, BU suffered through 14 straight losing seasons. But the arrival of QB Robert Griffin, & head coach Art Briles did wonders, with seven straight winning seasons, including 4 double digit victory campaigns, ranking 1st in both scoring & total "O" in '13 & '14. But then a scandal resulting in a 1-11 record in '17. However a quick recovery, & a 45-38 win over Vandy in '18 Texas Bowl (30 first downs, 668 yards). This year, they've tasted defeat only twice, both to Oklahoma, in similarly tight 34-31 & 30-23 (OT) finals. But a closer look shows the Bears with 34-18, 21-8 first down & 228-113, 239-116 rushing yard deficits. And QB Brewer is still questionable (concussion). Can the Bulldogs learn from last year's Sugar Bowl loss, as well last month's embarrassing 37-10 rout vs LSU in the SEC title game? Note that Georgia has allowed just 1 rushing TD all year, ranking 3rd, 2nd, & 4th in rushing, scoring, & total defense. Stats favor the 'Dawgs.

Rating: 5 Unit Bowl Game of the Year For the Middies, it's the same old thing: rushing. They lead the nation in the run, after finishing at #5 in last year's embarrassing 10-loss campaign. Rating: 4 Unit Bowl Game of the Month This season, Gators only missteps came in 42-28 & 24-17 losses to top-ranked LSU, & 5th-ranked Georgia. Not bad company. In both games, Gators' top defensive performer (LB Greenard) was either out, or under the weather. In that loss to LSU, the Gators (+14) led 28-21 halfway thru the 3rd, (3 QB Trask TD passes), before an 0-21 windup, & eventual push. Loss to Georgia featured an anemic 119-21 rushing yard deficit, reflective of Gators' 121st ranking in overland production. However, QB Trask is at 67.8%, with a sweet 24/6 TD to INT ratio. Defensively? Try 14th, 17th, 7th, 10th, in run, pass, scoring, & total. Rating: 3 Unit ACC Play of the Day Sure, such as heavy spot has to be respected, & surely it is. However, the Tigers have shaken their so-so attitude (weekly spread sqeakers) following their near disaster at North Carolina, when they stopped the 'Heels from converting a 2-point try in the L1:17, for the 21-20 win. Since then, they've outscored their opponents, 149-31, in lined games (902-238 point edge in last 20 games). For the Wolfpack, it's been straight downhill, with a 1-5 spread streak, allowing 44+ points in 3 of last 6 games: 89-34 point deficit L2 (50½ points ATS L2).

Steers' Ehlinger tossed for another 321 yards vs Tcu, but also threw 4 picks (now 23 touchdowns with 7 interceptions). Dog is 21-8 ATS in 'Horn tilts.

Dobbins: 139 rushing yards per game (7.2 yards per rush), Fields 69% (24 touchdowns with 1 interception), etc, with the top-ranked "D" in the nation. Quite a mountain for Terps to climb. Rating: 4 Unit Big-10 Game of the Week Sure, there are legions who won't hesitate in jumping on the Wildcats as such heavy dogs, as they've thrived in the pup role for many years, including current 16-5 spread run in that setup, much less as 4-TD dogs. Fact of the matter is that they not only lost their last home game by a 34-10 score (Wisconsin), but can't approach matching points with such a huge juggernaut, ranking 128th in scoring (14.4 ppg). Compare that to Bucks at 50.2 points per game, while playing their starters for little more than a half of every game. We gladly lay the huge spot..

However, for the life of us, we simply cannot see the Hawkeyes as the underdog in this important match. The Wolverines finally got it together with last week's drubbing of a totally lacking Rutgers outfit, for their first cover of the year, which followed their embarrassing loss to Wisconsin (359-37 rushing yard deficit).
