I am going to play #14 Iowa State at home to cover the spread over Alabama. Both teams are undefeated to start the year but this is the first test for both teams. Iowa State is a very good scoring team averaging 89 PPG. Iowa State is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 and Alabama is 2-6 in their last 8 vs the big 12. I think this will be close for a while but Iowa State will pull away in the end.

I am taking Texas A&M over New Mexico today. Cullen Neal is out for New Mexico which will have a tremendous effect on that team.

Taking Minnesota +9 at home this afternoon

I am going to jump on this one now as it has already climbed a point and I see it going to 11. San Antonio at home is a very very good team and Brooklyn isnt very good and on the road they are even worse. San Antonios defense is going to lockthem down and make them shoot from the outside where Brooklyn really struggles. The Nets are 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 meetings.

I am taking Cleveland tonight over Toronto. Toronto is 10-2 and they are a dog at a 5-6 Cleveland team? This is telling me that Cleveland is expected to win this game tonight.  Cleveland has lost their last 3 games and Toronto has won 8 of their last 9. No reason for the Cavs to be favorites in this spot. Vegas isnt rich from bad lines so I am going to ride with Cleveland.

Ole Miss needs this game to show they really belong up top after the loss last week to Alabama. Arkansas is flying high after their big win so this is definately a let down spot for them.

Im going to keep this one very simple. What do you do when you have 2 awful teams that cant play defense? Take the home team. Charlotte is coming back home after playing 5 of their last 6 on the road. They got beaten soundly out west but lost by 2 and puched in Indiana. Charlotte is definately the better team and I see them covering the 4 at home tonight. 

One early hoops action for me today as I take Seton Hall to dismantle Nevada. Seton Hall beat up on a decent Mercer team the oter night covering the 11.5 with ease. Seton Hall plays an in your face up tempo defense which I absolutely love with Angel Delgado crashing the boards. Nevada has played both games at home so far and they did not look good Vs Adams State last time out. If they can only beat that School by 5 at home after being up 11 at the half, they will have difficulties with Seton Hall tonight.

I am going to take UAB at home tonight over South Florida. I just have to go with my number here and I have UAB as a 5 point favorite. My numbers have been good so far this season so I need to continue following them. South Florida is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games as well. There are a lot of useless trends people use but when a team has an issue covering the spread and they are playing on the road it comes in very useful.  How many thought we were cooked last night when Utah State went down 18-3 quickly. Its all about the numbers and if we keep solid numbers,we will come out on top. 

We are going to go against the public play on UC Davis and take Eastern Illinois at home. UC Davis is 3-10-1 in their last 14 road games. EIU leads in every statistical category between these 2 teams on paper and they have the better bench. I expect OLivier to go off tonight so I have to back EIU in this spot.

I am taking this one as I have this line way higher then was released. I have this game set at -17 so this line is giving us very good value. Cleveland State is 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27. JV State has been blown out in their first 2 games and is averaging 47 points a game while giving up over 80. I do not see any area where JV State is equal or better the Cleveland here. This line will definately climb so lets get on this one now.

I am taking Florida State tonight at home over Northeastern. I have this game tonight capped at around 13 so I see us getting great value. Northeastern struggled their first time out on a neutral floor against BU and didnt cover the spread. I do not see the fairing well at Florida State with the Seminoles high powered offense. They had their top 5 guys all in double figures against Manhattan.  

I will be following the money and taking Sacramento State plus the points

On of the syndicates I watch just hit this one very heavy.

I know this is a very public pick but I am still seeing value. I have this game capped at -28. Both of these teams are good defensive teams and I think that is why the line is this low. Arizona  State isnt Division 2 Trinity College who Bethune beat up on. Last time out Arizona State held Chicago State to 50 points and they are division 1. I just cant see BC traveling out their and competing in this one. Its all up to Mikel Trapp for BC, if Arizona shuts him down this will be a 30 point win. 

This is another one I think is to low as I have Ill-Chicago -7 at home over Western Illinois. Western Illinois is just a very bad team. Dont get me wrong neither one of these teams are power houses but Western Illinois just lost to a very bad Pacific team at home while Ill-Chicago went to Depaul and only lost by one point. Western Illinois is 9-23 ATS in their last 32 games. Where I really see a big difference in that first game in FT% Western Illinois hit 55% while UIC hit 83%. That is a stat that I must watch tonight. 

I am burying this one right now. Hope I do not get caught by this line being low for a reason. I do not see how the Hornets can score points to keep up with this Mavs team. Dallas averages 13 more points a game then Charlotte with basically the same defensive numbers for both teams. Dallas is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games in Charlotte. I have to back the stronger Western Conference in this one.

I dont usually take huge favs but I have this one set at -27. I dont see any reason why Cal wont roll over this team and the money and line movement is showing me the same thing. 

I love this spot for Missouri. Valpo getting a lot of love after their win the other night.

I am going to take the points on this one. Pacific has won 7 out of the last 10 meetings between these 2 Schools. I just cant see UCI winning by 17 points in this one. I have it at -12 and I have watched this line go from -13.5 to -16.5. No way I am following the money on this one. Maybe a dumb move but I just dont see it.

Taking Charlotte now that F Willie Clayton is playing. They are superior to Elon.

I will be taking Denver -8.5 now that the Rams have been hammered. I do not see this going down to -8 so this is where we are going to play it. Heavy money coming in on the Rams at home but I am not buying the hype. Denver rolls. 

I will be taking UTEP tonight over North Texas. UTEP at home is a much better team. Aaron Jones is probably for UTEP and that is what I was waiting for before pulling the trigger on this one. I do not see this game at -7 but -10. This is giving us great value on this game.

I know some people are high on the Golden Gophers but I do not see them staying within 2 Touchdowns against this Ohio State team. Ohio State still has a shot at the 4 team playoff series and they know they need style points to get there. Ohio State is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meeting and I do not think 13 is a lot to cover here. Ohio State won last week in Michigan State which is a heck of a lot more hostile then Minnesota. It will be very cold and Ohio State will pound the rock all day where they average over 260 yards per game. Ohio State is also averaging 512 yards per game to the Golden Gophers 364

I guess the question on this pick would be why not? A top 5 NBA team against the worst NBA team. I know the points are a lot and I actually stayed away from Dallas last night when I saw -12. They only won by 53 points!!! This 76ers team is absolutely horrible and Houston is going to pound them into oblivion tonight. They loss by 11 to Houson at home a week and a half ago and now Philly has to continue their road trip where they lost their last 2 games but a total of 85 points. Theres no revenge factor tonight,this is a team thats completely demoralized and having to play Houston tonight on the road is even worse. Houston is winning games by over 11 points per game and Philly is losing by 18 points a game. Phillys young guys were looking good for a week or so but once these power houses  have found their chemistry this young team just cant compete.

I am taking Western Illinosi -3 over Pacific tonight. Not a lot to talk about being the first game of the season but I am watching sharp money come in on Western Illinois. I will pick my spots in CBB the first few days and this will be one of those spots today. Lets follow the money on this one.

I am taking the 6-1 Houston Rockets tonight Over the 2-4 Minnesota T-Wolves. Houston is by far one of the best teams in the league this year and I do not see them having any trouble with the Rubioless Wolves. Minnesota have kept most of their games close this season but Houston is 4-0 ATS on the road. Howard will be back tonight and Houston is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 in Minnesota. Houston is a much better defensive team giving up almost 11 less points per game. 

I have been debating this one all week but I am going to place a wager on Bowling Green. Kent State has been one of the worst teams this season with their only win coing against Army. I am not saying BG is a power house but they should have no problem covering 2 tds in this spot. 

I have been watching this one all day and I have to lay my money on Washington. Detroit has been brutal with and 0-3 record on the road and an 0-7 record ATS. Detroit is losing by an average of 5 points a game and that number is even worse on the road. I do not see Washington having a difficult time covering this number tonight. 

I have waited and waited to see where the money was going to come in and the number finally popped at a couple books for -7.5 so I will jump on the 7. I know Philadelphia should dominate this game at home but backing Mark Sanchez is very very difficult for me. Maybe he will be the cinderella story of 2014. I will follow the money tonight and take the Eagles at home by a TD.

I have to come right back tonight with Utah. Indiana is plain horrible right now with so many injuries. Utah showed their grit last night being down 9 half way through the 4th quarter and coming back and winning. Utah knows they have to win the Eastern Conferance games to have any chance for the playoffs this season. I think the wrong team is favored in this game and I have to take Utah in this spot.

I will be backing Utah on the road over Detroit. Utah is 8-1 in their last 9 meetings in Detroit. If you look at the competition the 2 teams have played this season its not even close. Utah has already played Dallas twice, Clippers, Phoenix and Houston. Detroit is playing Brooklyn,NY and Milwaukee. I think Detroit is a false fave and Utah will cover this spread if not win outright.

I will be playing Detroit at home over Miami this weekend. This line is no where near where its supposed to be. Miami is getting way to much love after their 37-0 drubbing of San Diego last weekend. The bookmakers have made this low to get Miami money as Detroit is going to light them up. You have Megatron,Bush and Pettigrew all expected to be back this weekend for Detroit. Like I said, most people saw a 37-0 beatdown but didnt realize San Diego was missing half their offensive line and is decimated with defensive injuries as well.

No over analyzing on this one for me and I already placed my wager.

I am taking Arizona tonight at home over Colorado

I am taking Washington tonight over Indiana on the road. Indiana as we all know is just decimated by injuries and I really like this up beat Washington team. The Pacers will not be able to keep up with the pace tonigt. Washington was beaten badly in Toronto their last time out so I see a significant improvement tonight and what better team to take it out on.

I wanted to get this one out early but missed the -4 already. I dont tink this one will be coming back down so we need to get on it now. Doc Rivers called out his team after they were blown out by Golden State. The Clippers are also 0-5 ATS on the season. So why play the Clippers here? This is the absolute perfect spot. The Clippers are well undervalued on their home court. I see an absolute blow out tomorrow night. The Clipshow has under performed and Dic Rivers will not allow it to happen another night.

Sacramento is getting a ton of love after their hot start but that will end tonight, Phoenix is not happy with their last performance at home vs Memphis where the Grizzlies D put them in Lockdown. The Kings have been dreadful in Phoenix over the years going 4-11 ATS.

This game is another one with some heavy RLM as the public is all over the Kings but the line continues to climb. Would be surprised to see a couple 6's on the board before tip off.

I will be backing the Mavs tonight over Utah. I think Dallas rolls tonight as they are upset with their performance last night. It was one of the worst games I have ever seen Dirk play and they clunked the rim all night. Dallas is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and 6-2 in their last 8 meetings in Utah.

I am backing Atlanta on the road tonight over Charlotte. The line came out way to low on this one and the line continues to drop even with 65% of the bets placed on Charlotte. With that much RLM the play is Atlanta.

Atlanta has won 9 out of their last 10 games vs Charlotte and I think its possible for Atlanta to be favorite in this one before tip off tonight

I am taking the Houston Rockets over San Antonio today. Word is Duncan will be resting and we know hows pops likes to sit people.

I love this spot for Golden State tonight. Playing on home court against a LA Clippers team that has won 3 of 4 but just not looking yet like they are in top form. 2 Keys for me here 1. Golden State not only wins but covers the spread at home going 5-0 ATS in their last 5. 2. The Clippers rarely cover the spread in Golden State going 5-16 in their last 21.

Golden State wants to prove tonight that they are the best team in the west so I am looking for a high performance tonight at home.

I am taking New Orleans tonight over Charlotte.

I am backing New Orleans tonight on the road at Memphis. New Orleans has owned Memphis going 5-0 ATS in their last 5. Memphis is averaging 102.5 points a game to Memphis 96.5. Of course Memphis D is giving up 10 points less. Everyone is looking at this game going way under the total but I see points being scored in this one tonight. I would buy the hook to 5 on this play but I have to take my chances on New Orleans covering this easy or winning outright.

I am taking the Houston Rockets tonight over the 76ers and I do not care if Howard is playing or not. The 76ers are the worst team in the NBA and I have the Rockets winning the Western Conferance. Houston is 3-0 ATS and Philadelphia is 0-3. People thought Philly was going to hang with Miami and took them at +9/+9.5 and they did for the first 3 quarters before getting drilled in the 4th quarter 27-13 to lose by 18.

I know they still have to play the game but I love Houston tonight over Philly.

Im sorry but I cannot buy all the hype on Miami. San Diego does have a lot of injuries but they are simply the better team.

I am taking Kansas State now that Desmond Roland is ruled out for Okie State. Kansas State is the far superior team and should role here by 2 TDS. 

I am going to take Toronto on the road tonight over Orlando. This is Orlandos 3rd game of the season. They were blown out in the first game and after playing well in the second game at home vs Washington, they collapsed down the wire. Toronto played a strong game at home over the Hawks and I see them playing a run and gun game tonight over the Magic.

After taking the over I am also going to be taking Purdue and the points at home. With Purdue covering 5 of their last 6 and almost beating Minnesota last week they are the play. Purdue hasnt been beat by this many points yet this season and I do not see it happening at home today.

I am taking LA Monroe and the points. Kyle Allen in at QB today with Kenny Hill suspended. I have to take the 35 points thats being given in this one.

I will be backing Memphis tonight on the road. I just do not see Indiana competing tonight with this defensive Memphis team. Indiana had difficulty putting Philadelphia away and until they get their offensive weapons back, they are not a very good team.

I know laying 6 on a road team is not my norm but Indiana getting 6 at home is telling me the books want money on Indiana. Lets not over analyze and go with the better team.

I am taking Minnesota Over Detroit at home.

Both teams tonight coming off opeing night road losses last night but Minnesota played the better game and covered the spread against Memphis. Kevin Martin is also going to play tonight for Minnesota who averaged 19.1 points a game last season and 18 points a game for his career.

Detroit scored a staggering 79 points last night which wont add up to this high scoring Minnesota team. Minnesota will domintate the offensive boards and Denver will be playing from behind early. This game has already gone up to -5.5/-6 since I released it this morning.

I am taking the Chicago Bulls tonight over NY at the garden. Chicago has to come out and prove themselves tonight now that Lebron is back in the east. They have the best defense and I see them shutting down the Knicks. Chicago is 7-3 in their last 10 vs the Knicks and I see them winning again tonight.

I am taking Toronto over Atlanta at home tonight. I think out of the two teams Toronto has greatly improved. Not saying that Atlanta wont be a playoff team but they have been bad on the road while Toronto has been very good at home.

Both teams are healthy and Toronto covered with ease both times they were favorites last year over Atlanta.
