Take the Pirates as they are 16-13 on the road and havethe better starter going Sunday. Jeff Locke has an ERA of 2.45 (1.59 in his last 3) and the team is 7-5 in his starts while Edwin Jackson is a journeyman with an ERA of 6.29 for the Cubs. The team is 2-9 in his starts (0-3 with an ERA of 7.04 in his last three).
Garrett Jones and Andrew McCuthcheon are solid hitters that lead the Pirates. Pittsburgh has one of the best relieving corps in the majors to help save a lead.
It does concern me that the Cubs have lost both games and may be motivated not to get swept but the Pirates are better. Pitt 4 Chicago 3

The Pirates are 4-6 in their last 10 games but they have been facing good teams like Detroit, Cincinnati and Atlanta. Now they get to play at Chicago. Travis Wood starts for the Cubs and has allowed 24 walks this year. His ERA is 4.82 in his last 3 starts. Pittsburgh starts Liriano and he has pitched 29 innings, allowed just 9 walks with 39 strikeouts. His ERA is 2.17. I think the Pirates win on Friday afternoon.

These two played an over last night in a 7-5 game so they have now combined for 63 overs and just 41 unders. Detroit has played overs in 6 of their last 8 Saturday games. Verlander and Hammel have combined for 15 overs and just 5 unders this year and Verlander's ERA is 9.82 in his last 3 starts. Hammel's is 5.12 in that frame. The over has won 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings.

They have a solid offensive lineup that hasn't produced so far in 2013 but they have the potential to score runs with Erick Aybar, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo, Josh Hamilton and Howie Kendrick. Kansas City is just 3-9 in their last 12 games and just lost 3-1 at Houston on Wednesday night. The Royals start Santana on Thursday night and he has pitched well this year but he is 0-3 with a 4.19 ERA in his last three starts. Oakland starts Straily and his ERA is 7.27 and he lost 6-2 to Texas in Oakland. The Red Sox won last night by 7-2. We get one of the best home teams vs. possibly the worst team in the majors in the Hosuton Astros. Peacock starts for the Astros and his ERA is 8.56 in his last 3 starts. Boston is getting hits from Pedroia, Big Papi and all through the lineup.

Take under 7 as both pitchers, Vargas for the Mariners and Weaver for the Angels are pitching well. Both have ERA's under 2.50 in the last 3 starts. The Angels can put up runs in a hurry with Trout and Pujols but the M's are struggling with just one win in the last 5.

Take home home underdog. Justin Verlander of Detroit has lost his last 2 road starts and given up 3 and 4 runs. His last road game was a loss at Cleveland.
Texas is a great home team even with Derek Holland, who has been poor lately but worth a chance at +133 with the offense of the Rangers.

I like Cleveland with McAllister at home in front of their fans. They have played poorly going 2-8 in the last 10 and lost Sunday after going up by 3 runs in extra innings. Even reliever Chris Perez walked two and gave up some key hits.
A change of venue from the road to back home will help the Indians.

The Cardinals lost Albert Pujols to the Angels but still have solid hitting but have more unders than overs at home. Milwaukee lost Prince Fielder and have not played well this year.

The Seattle Mariners have been playing well. CC Sabathia starts for the Yankees and he can shut down a team but he was involved in a 8-6 game in his last start. NY has a strong offensive lineup that just added former Mariner Ichiro Suzuki. Texeira, Canu, Jeter, etc. are strong offensive players. Yankee Stadium is known for allowing runs.

Yesterday's game provided us with an easy over as both teams put up plenty of runs. Sunday should be high scoring as well with the heat in Colorado and in daylight.
Colorado does have Micahel Cuddyer and Gonzalez as well as Troy Tulowitzi, who has missed many games this year at shortstop.
The Reds usually rely on Joey Votto for offense but everyone loves to hit in Colorado.

Twins win 4-3.
