The under is 6-2 in Baltimore's last 8 and 5-0 in Oakland's last 5. Both Guthrie and Braden are in very good form right now. The wind should be blowing toward home plate slightly as well. Everything looks good for an under in this one.

*3 Star Total of the Day* A game between the Mariners and Padres is typically thought of as a low scoring affair and with these two pitchers on the mound I think it will be on Sunday. King Felix hasn't been great of late, but the under is 4-0 in his last 4 starts against the Padres. The under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. Latos is pitching as well as anyone in baseball right now. Take the under.

*3 Star Late Night Bailout Play* A nice combination here of two offenses that are heating up and an umpire who has a very small strike zone. The over has hit almost 60% of the time in Jim Reynolds last 150 games behind the dish. Richard is great at home, but sketchy on the road. Snell is very inconsistent. Take the over in this one.

*Saturday Early Bird Play of the Day* The wind will be howling out in Oakland on Saturday and the home plate umpire is Sam Holbrook. Holbrook is a huge over umpire based on his past tendencies. Both pitchers are pretty good, but Gonzalez can be inconsistent and this total is set very low. I like the over here.

*3 Star Big Play* Lester and Liriano is a heck of a pitching match up in this one. Both offenses are very good, but I like these two lefties. I think this will be a closely contested game and I believe the wind that is expected to blow in from center at about 10 mph will help here as well. I like the under.

*3 Star MLB Total of the Day* The Cards and the Nationals have both been playing a lot of games under the posted total of late. That is precisely why the number is such a good value in this game. Kyle Lohse is extremely inconsistent and has been poor of late. Stammen has been awful on the road for the Nationals. I think this has the potential to be a pretty high scoring game. Take the over.

*Sunday MLB Play of the Day* John Hirschbeck is behind the plate and we've got two of the best pitchers in American League on the mound. The number is set low at just seven, but this is the type of game that could easily be 1=1 in the ninth inning. I like the under in this one.

*3 Star Late Night Bailout* Ervin Santana has pitched brilliantly against the Oakland A's in his career. Duchsherer is pitching extremely well right now. Neither team is stacked full of big hitters. The umpire here is a nice under umpire with a huge strike zone. I like this one to stay under the total!

*3 Star Over of the Day* Joe Blanton and Chris Narveson are two starting pitchers that don't strike too much fear in batters at this point in their career. The Brewers have been an over machine at home of late (14-4 last 18.) The Phillies have a great lineup and I would expect the winner of this one to score quite a few runs. I like the over here.

*3 Star MLB Play of the Day* John Lannan is a consistently good pitcher and Chacin has burst onto the scene and not allowed a run in his first 14 innings in the majors. *3 Star Big Play* The BallPark in Arlington creates a nice wind tunnel effect when the winds are coming from the south. They will be in this one. It should help the ball carry and the pitchers have a long day. Holland is starting his first game of the year. The over is 8-3-1 in the Rangers last 12 home games. I like the over in this one.

*3 Star Early Bird Play of the Day* The winds will be blowing out to center in Fenway in this afternoon game on Wednesday. The referee crew is perfect for an over, with two of the three generally calling very high scoring games and one at an average score. The Cavaliers should put up more than 86 points here and I think the pace stays pretty quick. These two teams don't play as much defense as they used to and they both have plenty of scoring options. Take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* In this game we get two teams that are not hitting the ball so well right now and the biggest under umpire in all of baseball in Doug Eddings. The under is 6-2 in Seattle's last 8 and 4-0 in Tampa Bay's last 4. Eddings calls more strikes than any other umpire and has been as consistent as they come year after year at keeping the scoring down. I'll take the under in this one.

*3 Star Big Play* The Dodgers are imploding and the Milwaukee Brewers bats have heated up in a huge way in Los Angeles. It will be Ely against Bush in the pitching match up here. Neither of those pitchers strike fear in the batters mind too much at this point, and I think the total is set too low here. The over is 20-9 in the Dodgers last 29 games overall. Take over 9 here.

*3 Star Big Play* Dan Haren is a very good pitcher and these Houston Astros just aren't hitting anything of late. Wandy Rodriguez is often unhittable at home. I just don't see why this one is sitting at 8. This has the makings of a game that goes into the 8th or 9th inning at 2-1 or so. The umpire helps a little as well, with slightly lower than averaging scoring. Take the under here.

*3 Star Early Bird Play of the Day* The Indians and Blue Jays will finish off their three game series with a noon eastern time game. Ron Kulpa will be the umpire behind the plate, and the under is 37-17-3 in his last 57 games behind the plate. Fausto Carmona appears to have gotten back his form of two years ago and the Indian offense has been terrible of late. I like the under in this one.

*3 Star Big NBA Play of the Day* The Jazz and the Lakers meet tonight in Game Two. The Lakers took the first game despite blowing a big lead. I took the under in Game One and was beaten because of the Lakers hot shooting and fouls at the end of the game. I'm going with the under again in Game Two. *3 Star ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Play* Johan Santana is on the hill for the Mets, and he has been nothing short of spectacular this year. The under becomes a bit more intriguing with Rollins out and Beltran out of the lineup. The umpire here is helpful to the under. The under is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams. I like this Sunday Night game to stay under the posted total.

*3 Star NBA Big Playof the Day* The Los Angeles Lakers are no longer a team that likes to push the tempo and run, rather they are a solid defensive team. The last seven meetings between these two teams have gone under the posted total and the Lakers have proven capable of slowing down the Utah Jazz offense quite effectively. Expect a hard fought basketball game, but don't expect great shooting in this one. I think the under is the play here.

*3 Star Big Play* Roy Halladay is an amazing pitcher and Mike Pelfrey is pitching extremely well this year. I don't see why this total isn't set at 7 instead of 8. I'll take the value here. The two offenses should be stifled here. The home plate umpire, Ron Kulpa, is a consistent under umpire. All the factors point toward the under here. Take under 8.

*3 Star NBA Play of the Day* The Atlanta Hawks were shocked at home by the Bucks in Game Five and now the Bucks can close it out at home tonight with a win. Milwaukee is a much more potent offensive team at home and the referee crew here will help the total. All three referees call more than the average number of fouls and I would expect a nice amount of free throw attempts in this one. The number is set too low in this one. Take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* The Blazers have their backs against the wall in this one and I think that means they come playing inspired defense. At home they should be able to control the tempo even more to their liking. The Suns aren't quite as likely to light up the scoreboard on the road. This should be a hotly contested game and I think it is very likely this one stays under the posted total. Take the under.

*3 Star MLB Early Bird Play of the Day* The Rangers and White Sox will square off Thursday afternoon and the conditions appear to be just right for an over in this one. The over is 5-2 in the Sox last 7 games and 4-1-1 in the Rangers last 6 games. Feldman and Floyd have both been terrible of late and the wind conditions are perfect for an over in this one. I think this has the potential to be a real run scoring fest. Take the over!

Shields is great at home and Braden looks good so far this year. I think this will be a closely contested and low scoring game. Take the under here.

*3 Star Big Play* The biggest change that Antawn Jamison has brought to the Cavaliers is their ability to score in bunches and have balance in their offense. The Bulls simply can't contain them defensively and LeBron James has really found his shot in Games 2,3,and 4. Look for the Cavs to keep it rolling offensively in this one. I don't think the Bulls will be able to stop them. I like the over here.

*3 Star Big Play* It's the NBA Playoffs and this series is all tied up at 2. The Blazers know they can't afford to get into a track meet in this one. These games have been staying under despite a huge amount of free throws taken in each game. I think the pace stays slow and the free throw rate slows down just a bit here. I think the value is on the under in this one.

*3 Star MLB Total of the Day* The Detroit Tigers have been hitting the ball lately. Jeremy Bonderman will pitch for the Tigers, and Bonderman is still struggling to regain his form. The home plate umpire here is Tim McClelland, who is definitely one of the biggest over umpires in the game. The wind is projected to be blowing out to right field at 10-15 mph. All these things point to the over. Take the over here.

*3 Star NBA Play of the Day* The Mavericks and Spurs are involved in a very physical and compelling best of seven series. This is a crucial game wih the Spurs up 2-1 right now. I think the tempo stays slow here and both teams focus on playing tough defense. The oddsmakers have had this one too high of late, and I think they've made the same mistake again. Take the under.

*3 Star MLB Total of the Day* The Pirates and Astros are both bad teams this year. Neither team has a particularly strong offense. The lack of offense on both sides makes me feel like the the over/under set at 9.5 runs is simply too high. The under is 8-2-1 in Houston's last 11 games and 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams. I like the under in this one.

*3 Star Big NBA Play of the Day* The Lakers and Thunder play a pivotal Game Four tonight. Loud City in Oklahoma City is impressive and I think the Thunder are playing about as well as you could expect a young team to play. I think this one stays close and it will be a very physical game. The referees in this one all three call quite a few fouls, so I expect a lot of free throws in this one. I think free throws push this one over the posted total.

*3 Star Big Play* The under has been the play when these two teams get together. The under is 35-16 in the last 51 games between the two. Romero is a good lefty and the Rays are hitting just .209 against lefties this season. Niemann has been very good this year and typically pitches well at home. I like the pitchers and the match ups here. Take the under.

*3 Star Big Play* Brett Anderson and Fausto Carmona both have absolutely terrific stuff. They haven't always been the most consistent pitchers, but I think this is the type of game where they can both fare well. Both have started the season well and will face an opposing lineup that isn't stellar. I like this one to be a close and low scoring game. Take the under.

*3 Star Big Play* The Heat and the Celtics should be a very competitive game tonight in Miami. The Celtics seem to want to push the tempo a bit in this series. The three referees in this crew all average 201 or more points per game on average in the games they referee. I think with a decent amount of foul shots and a close game, this line is set too low. *5 Star Top Play* Behind the dish in this one will be Tim McClelland. He has the longest reputation of pinching the strike zone on pitchers of any umpire in baseball. Mike Leake is a good young pitcher for the Reds, but he is a rookie without any minor league experience and he has struggled with his control this year. McClelland should make it very difficult on Leake. At the same time, Vicente Padilla has been getting shelled of late and both bullpens are absolutely horrible and will provide no relief. Take the over in a big way here.

*3 Star Big Play* I'm really not a fan of taking such a low under, but this situation seems perfect. Neither of these teams are very strong offensively and both have their ace on the hill. Bill Miller will be behind the plate and the under is 11-5 in his last 16 games as home plate umpire. I think this has the makings of a game where both starters stick around for a long time and it stays close to the finish. Take the under.

*3 Star NBA Play of the Day* The Spurs and Mavs are bitter rivals and they have a huge history of tight and physical games. In Game One the shooting percentages were higher than normal and there were a ton of free throws taken. I would expect the percentages to come down a bit and the defenses to improve in this one. I think the value is on the under in this game. Take under 195.

*3 Star Big Play* The numbers would tell you that the under is the play here, but I like the over. I'm not buying into Carlos Silva's good start with the Cubs, and I still think Oliver Perez struggles mightily to throw a strike. I think that we are getting a solid value on the over because these two have overperformed to this point. Take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* Andy Fletcher is behind the dish and two nice young starting pitchers are on the hill in this one. Homer Bailey is finally coming of age and Billingsley was great in the first half last season. Fletcher is one of the biggest under umpires in the game, with about 2/3 of his games going under in the last year. Take under 9.5 in this one!

*3 Star Big Play* The Atlanta Hawks have a pretty nice offense with Johnson, Smith, Horford, Crawford, and company. The Bucks might try to slow this one down a little, but Atlanta is very efficient on offense at home. I think the Bucks will have to put up a decent amount of points to have a chance in this one. I like this one to get into the 190's. Take the over here.

*5 Star Top Play NBA Play of the Day* The Utah Jazz and the Denver Nuggets will meet in a pivotal game two of their series tonight. If you watched the first game, you saw that the Jazz couldn't stop Carmelo and the pace of the game was very quick. I don't think either team slows this one down, and two of the three referees on this crew are nice "over" referees. Take the over in this one and expect another shootout!

*3 Star Big Play* After a 20 inning affair it is hard to say how these teams will respond on Sunday, but I do like the pitching match ups and the umpire in this one. Doug Eddings is my single favorite umpire to bet on the under with and Adam Wainwright is generally absolutely terrific at home. The Mets don't have much firepower and the Cardinals are streaky on offense. I think this one stays under.

*3 Star Big Play* The Bobcats will definitely need to control the tempo of this game if they are to have a chance. I think Larry Brown is a wise enough coach to know this. The Magic are a much better defensive team this year than they have been. I think the pace of this game stays low and both teams play high quality defense. Take the under!

*3 Star Big Play* Neither Peavy nor Westbrook is on top of his game. The Indians roughed up Peavy earlier this year and the Sox took it to Westbrook. The umpire shouldn't hurt things in this one and with a line set at just 8 I think the over is the play. I think a total of 10 or 11 runs could definitely happen here. Take the over!

*5 Star Top Play* I really like the over in this one. Neither pitcher impresses me with their stuff at this point in their careers. The Nationals have been hitting the ball much better of late. The home plate umpire is Tim McClelland who has a history of having a very small strike zone. I think this one could be a real slugfest. Take the over in a big way here.

*3 Star Big Play* The Clippers aren't playing one bit of defense at this point. The Lakers showed some nice offense last night even without Kobe. I think this is one of those schoolyard type games where both teams get wide open layups and no one cares a whole lot. The referee crew is a nice crew for bettors who like the over. *3 Star Big Play* The Oakland Athletics and the Seattle Mariners are both solid defensive teams with not a whole lot of power offensively. Doug Eddings will be behind the dish here. Expect more than your average share of walks and nice afternoon weather to help the ball fly some in Detroit. I like the over in this one.

*3 Star Big NBA Play of the Day* The Dallas Mavericks have found their offense in a big way of late. The Clippers have nothing to play, which means they probably won't play any defense at all. The line is set at just 198 because of some injury questions for the Clippers, but I think the pace of this game should make the over the play. Take over 198.

*3 Star Big Play* These two teams and these exact same pitchers squared off on April 7th. The final then was 3-2. I like taking the angle that the second time around, the hitters have the advantage. Scherzer is good, but I don't think he'll duplicate his previous outing. Hochevar has been horrible on the road. The over is 7-0-1 in his last 8 road starts. Take the over in this one.

*3 Star Big Play* The Twins and Sox have been playing some low scoring games of late and I think it will continue on Sunday. The under is 8-2 in their last 10 meetings and both pitchers have pitched very well against their opposition in this match up. The under is 5-2 in Blackburn's last 7 against the Sox and the under is 6-2 in Buerhle's last 8 against the Twins. I like the under in this one.

*3 Star Big Play* Carlos Zambrano is one very inconsistent pitcher, but he just hasn't looked good at all of late. Aaron Harang is historically terrible against the Cubs as well. Both of these teams have the ability to hit the ball, but haven't done so consistently this year. I think this is the type of game where the offenses could break out. Take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* The home plate umpire in this one is Jerry Crawford and there isn't an umpire in the league with a smaller strike zone than Crawford. Garcia is questionable at best for the Sox and Baker hasn't fared well against Chicago in the past. The over is 8-2 in Baker's last 10 against Chicago and 7-2-1 in Garcia's last 10 against the Twins. Take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* The Cleveland Indians send Mitch Talbot to the hill, and he has had no success at all in the majors. The Tigers send Bonderman to the hill after a huge layoff from injury. This game has all the makings of a slugfest. The umpire here tends to call more overs than unders as well, so that shouldn't hurt the cause. Take the over.

*3 Star NBA Total of the Day* I am liking the Knicks overs of late, since they have completely abandoned playing any kind of defense at all. The Magic have stepped up the defense most of the season, but some of their last few games they have gone back to pouring on the points. I think this is the type of game where Orlando could score 115 or 120 points. Take the over in this one.

*3 Star Big Play* The Sacramento Kings are on a huge under run of late. The under is 9-1-1 in their last 11 games overall. The last 16 meetings between the Clips and Kings has brought 13 unders and just 3 overs. Neither team is efficient at all offensively and this should be a very sloppy game. I like the under here.

*3 Star Afternoon Winner* With Hunter Wendelstedt behind home plate we have a favorable umpire for an over, and these two pitchers should be good for giving up quite a few runs. The playoff standings are very fluid in the West and both of these teams could move up or down quite a bit in the next few days. *5 Star Top Play* Johnny Cueto has had quite a bit of trouble with his back this spring and didn't pitch more than four innings in any one start all spring. The Reds bullpen is not good at all and the Cards should tear them apart. The home plate umpire has a fairly small strike zone and both teams should put up a few runs in this one. Take the over on a number this low!

*3 Star Big Play* The New York Knicks have gone back to playing absolutely no defense at all and the Boston Celtics are playing an uptempo pace most of the time lately. The three referees in today's game are all a little higher scoring than the league average, so that doesn't hurt the cause any. I think Boston will score at will and New York will score quite a few as well. Take the over here.

*5 Star Top Play* The Duke Blue Devils trounced West Virginia and Butler squeaked by Michigan State because of their stout defense. The under is actually 12-5 in Duke's last 17 and 9-1 in Butler's last 10 games overall. I have to think that Butler realizes it must control the tempo in this game. Butler plays better defense than West Virginia, so Duke probably won't see as many wide open three pointers. The Blue Devils defense is great as well, so expect Butler to struggle to score. This has all the makings of a solid defensive battle in the title game. Take the under!

*3 Star Big Play* The Washington Wizards are on an absolutely tremendous run for under bettors. The under is 9-1 in their last 10 and 37-14 in their last 51 games overall. The Wizards don't have much firepower at all. The Nets have played much better of late and could put some points on the board, but I don't see them winning this game easily on the road. Washington will slow things down and this should be a game you won't want to watch. Don't watch it, but take the under!

*3 Star Final Four Big Play Total* The Duke Blue Devils are an underrated defensive squad. Duke ranks third in the country in defensive efficiency. West Virginia has become an under machine of late and I expect that will continue, especially since they'll want to slow this game down in a big way. They are very short at the guard position, which means they'll want to limit the possessions. Duke is fine by playing fast or slow. *3 Star Big Play* The Bobcats and the Bucks are two of the lowest scoring teams in the league, but with this low of a number and the referee crew that will be in this game, I have to take the over. Both of these teams get to the line pretty often, and two of the three referees in this game are two of the strongest over refs in the business right now. I think this game gets into the mid 180's. Take the over.

*5 Star Top Play Total of the Day* Wednesday's NBA card is a huge one, but I think this is the best totals play on the board. The under is 36-16 in the Wizards last 52 games as they have simply been purged of their firepower on offense. The Hornets have been having games go over the total, but they have been against teams who like to push the tempo. The tempo will slow down here and this one should stay under this total quite easily. Take the under.

*3 Star Terrific Total of the Day* The Rhode Island Rams and the North Carolina Tar Heels both love to push the tempo and I don't see either wanting to slow this one down at all. The Heels aren't particularly efficient offensively, but they'll get plenty of shots up here. Rhode Island's Delroy James will cause problems for North Carolina and I really think the Rams can put up a lot of points here. I like the over.

*5 Star Top Play of the Day* The Indiana Pacers and the Sacramento Kings will meet tonight in what should be a high scoring game. All three of the referees in this crew lean to the over, especially Leon Wood. In Leon Wood's 57 games the over is 37-20. The Pacers tend to rack up the points at home and Sacramento is getting a lot of their firepower back in the lineup tonight. I think free throws and some solid shooting from the field make this a very nice over.

*3 Star Big Play* I've lost the last couple unders with Dick Bavetta as the lead referee, but I'm going to stick with it. Bavetta, Adams, and Workman are the three refs here and all three are solid under referees. The Spurs have started playing much better basketball of late, especially on the defensive end. The Nets could have some serious trouble putting up points in this one. I like the under here.

*3 Star Big Play* The Pacers don't play any defense and the Hawks can score points in bunches, especially at home. The over is 12-4 in Atlanta's last 16 games at home. The last 3 meetings between these teams have all gone over the posted total and I think today's will as well. Expect the Hawks to score a bunch and the Pacers to score enough to get the over.

*3 Star Big Play* The referee crew here couldn't possibly be any better for an under play. Dick Bavetta is the main ref and the under is 37-15 in his 52 games this year. The other two also lean toward the under. The Lakers have been an under machine on the road of late, with six of their last seven staying under the total. In the last seven meetings between these two, the under is 6-1. Take the under.

*3 Star Big Play* Butler will not want Kansas State to push the tempo too much in this one. The Bulldogs defense is one of the best in the nation, and they allow just 59.7 points per game. Kansas State has to be pretty tired after their double OT affair late Thursday night. I think this will be a close game and it will stay under the posted total.

*3 Star Big Play* The under is 8-2 in Duke's last 10 games and 6-2 in Purdue's last 8. Without Robbie Hummel, Purdue becomes a very defensively oriented team that has to fight and scrap to stay in games. Duke plays great defense and doesn't just run and gun at all this year. I think this one stays at a slow pace and the under is the right play here.

*3 Star Big Play* So the last time these two got together (just three days ago) they put up 181 points, in overtime. The Washington Wizards have become an absolute under machine of late, and Charlotte still doesn't like to push the tempo all that much. The under is 21-5 in Washington's last 26 games and 11-4 in Charlotte's last 15. Two of the three referees in this crew are solid under referees. I like this one quite a bit. Take the under.

*5 Star Top Play* Cornell has shown that they like to force the tempo and they can definitely shoot the basketball. Kentucky will not slow this game down and the Wildcats have proven a bit susceptible against teams that shoot well from behind the 3 point line. I think both teams put up quite a few points in this one. I think 150 is a good possibility. I like the over.

*3 Star Big Play* Houston has a ton of injuries right now and Oklahoma City plays much more defense than they used to. The crew of referees calling this game are definitely helpful here since they all have a long history of calling low scoring games. The under is also 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams. I think this one is set too high.

*3 Star Big Play* The Milwaukee Bucks have been a nice under machine of late and the 76ers have a ton of injuries to players that often contribute quite a few points to their total. The Bucks should slow the pace down here and I don't think Philly is healthy enough to try to push it too much. I think this has the potential to be a game in the upper 80's or low 90's. Take the under.

*3 Star Big Play* Take a look at the referee crew in this one and you have to like the under here. Dick Bavetta is the main official and the under is a staggering 37-14 in his 51 games this year. Marc Davis is also on the crew and the under is 34-23 in his 57 games this year. I'm thinking the trips to the line won't be too frequent tonight and this one should stay under this total.

*5 Star Top Play* VCU is a team that pushes the tempo in a big way, especially at home. Boston University has shown in this post season tournament that they love to run with the teams that are willing, so I don't see anything stopping this one. I think this one has great potential to go over and I think a game in the mid 150's is definitely possible.

*3 Star Big Play* UAB is a team that plays very deliberately and I don't think they will let the Tar Heels dictate the tempo in this one. The under is 7-2 in their last 9 games overall and none of those games have reached 136 points. The under is actually 19-10 in North Carolina's games this year as well because they simply don't shoot the ball well. I think UAB slows this game down and it stays under this posted total.

*3 Star big Play* The Utah Jazz have been a scoring machine of late. The Jazz have scored more than 100 points in 9 of their last 10 games. The Celtics have also been scoring in bunches for the most part over the last week. The referees assigned to this game lean toward the over and I think there will be plenty of free throws in this one. I like the over here.

*3 Star Big Play* Both of these teams love to push the pace inside their own league and there shouldn't be a thing slowing them down in this game. VCU is a more well-rounded team, but Charleston has some great guards who can fill it up on any given night. This is the type of game that won't require great shooting for the over to hit. Look for a shootout here and take the over.

*3 Star Big Play* The Nevada Wolfpack and the Rhode Island Rams are both extremely strong offensive teams. Both teams shoot the ball well and love to push the tempo. This is a game that will likely go down to the wire, which means that free throws at the end are a very likely possibility. I think this is the type of game that could go over 160 points. *3 Star Big Play* These two teams are both struggling mightily right now and this should be a very ugly game. Tyreke Evans isn't playing on Sunday, which will limit the Kings scoring quite a bit here. The Clippers have stalled out badly of late and I expect this to be a sloppy game with a lot of poor shooting. Take the under here.

Michigan State seems like a team that doesn't like to run on paper, but that is mainly because their Big 10 foes don't let the tempo get going. The Spartans can play quick and I expect both teams to score quite a bit in this one. I like the over.

Wake Forest was turning the ball over constantly against Texas, but did hit some big shots to win the game. I think Kentucky will push the tempo here and Wake Forest will have trouble with their pressure. Wake Forest will score quite a bit, but Kentucky should score a lot by themselves here. Take the over.
