04-07-25 Florida v. Houston +1.5 65-63 Loss -115 21 h 57 m Show

After a long college basketball season that started back in November, we have finally arrived at the NCAA Championship game between Houston and Florida.  The 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship features a compelling clash between two No. 1 seeds: the Florida Gators (35-4) and the Houston Cougars (35-4). Both teams showcased resilience in the Final Four, each mounting significant comebacks to secure their spots in the title game. Florida overcame a nine-point deficit to defeat Auburn 79-73, while Houston rallied from a 14-point shortfall to edge out Duke 70-67. The Cougars were down 11 points with under two minutes to play and had that improbable comeback late. Florida boasts a potent offense, averaging 85 points per game this season. Senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. has been instrumental, delivering back-to-back 30-point performances in the Elite Eight and Final Four, a feat last achieved by Larry Bird in 1979. The Gators demonstrated grit, notably overcoming a 10-point deficit with under six minutes remaining against Texas Tech in the Elite Eight. Houston prides itself on a stifling defense, leading the nation by allowing just 58 points per game. Graduate guard L.J. Cryer has been pivotal, scoring 26 points against Duke, including crucial free throws in the final moments. The Cougars' path has been marked by resilience, highlighted by their dramatic comeback against Duke, closing the game on a 9-0 run.  Florida's Offense vs. Houston's Defense: The Gators' high-scoring offense, led by Clayton Jr., will be tested against the Cougars' top-ranked defense. Houston's ability to contain Clayton will be crucial. Both teams excel in rebounding. Florida ranks fifth nationally in offensive rebounding percentage (38.9%), while Houston's physicality under the boards has been a hallmark. This championship showdown promises an exhilarating battle between Florida's dynamic offense and Houston's formidable defense. Both teams have displayed remarkable resilience throughout the tournament, setting the stage for a memorable conclusion to the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball season. I like to side with the great defenses as we saw what they did to Duke late. I'm taking Houston to win the National Championship on Monday.

04-05-25 Houston +5.5 v. Duke 70-67 Win 100 20 h 35 m Show

The NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four features a compelling matchup between the Houston Cougars and the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The Duke Blue Devils (35-3) enter the Final Four on a 15-game winning streak. Their offense has been prolific, averaging 91.8 points per game during the tournament, with standout performances from freshmen Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel. The Houston Cougars (34-4) boast a 17-game winning streak, underpinned by the nation's top-ranked defense, allowing only 56.5 points per game in the tournament. Their defensive prowess was evident in their 69-50 victory over Tennessee in the Elite Eight. A pivotal battle will be between Duke's freshman forward Cooper Flagg and Houston's defensive stalwart Joseph Tugler. Flagg, averaging 18.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, will be challenged by Tugler, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, known for his versatility and 7-foot-6 wingspan.  Duke leads the nation with an average of 91.8 points per game in the tournament. Houston tops the charts in defensive efficiency, allowing 56.5 points per game during the tournament. This matchup presents a classic contrast between Duke's high-powered offense and Houston's stifling defense. Duke's success will hinge on their ability to navigate Houston's defensive schemes, particularly the performance of Cooper Flagg against Joseph Tugler's defense. Conversely, Houston will need to find consistent scoring to keep pace with Duke's offensive output. While Duke's offensive firepower is formidable, Houston's defensive tenacity and experience could neutralize the Blue Devils' attack. I expect a close contest here on Saturday and won't be surprised by a outright Houston win. Still, I'll take the points with Houston.

04-05-25 Florida v. Auburn +2.5 79-73 Loss -108 16 h 16 m Show

The NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four features an all-SEC showdown between the Florida Gators and the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The Florida Gators (34-4) have been on an impressive run, losing only once since February 1. Their journey to the Final Four included victories over Norfolk State, UConn, Maryland, and Texas Tech. The Auburn Tigers (32-5), the No. 1 overall seed, secured their Final Four spot with wins against Alabama State, Creighton, Michigan, and Michigan State. Despite their strong performance, they enter this matchup as 2.5-point underdogs. A pivotal battle will be between Florida's guard Walter Clayton Jr. and Auburn's forward Johni Broome. Clayton has been exceptional, averaging 22.3 points per game in the tournament and shooting 45.2% from three-point range. Broome, averaging 18.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, suffered a right elbow injury during the Elite Eight but is expected to play. The Gators and Tigers met earlier this season on February 8, with Florida securing a 90-81 victory on the road. In that game, Clayton led with 19 points, nine assists, and six rebounds, while Broome contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds.  The Gators' success hinges on Clayton's offensive prowess and their ability to contain Broome. Their depth, despite a shorter rotation, has been bolstered by contributions from players like Thomas Haugh. The Tigers will look to leverage their greater depth and the performance of key players like Broome and sixth man Tahaad Pettiford. Containing Clayton will be crucial to their defensive strategy. Auburn's depth and motivation as underdogs could make this a closely contested game. Tough to beat a great team twice in a season. I'm taking Auburn here on Saturday to advance to the finals.

04-03-25 Villanova v. USC +6 60-59 Win 100 11 h 17 m Show

The Villanova Wildcats and the USC Trojans are set to face off in the second round of the College Basketball Crown tournament on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Villanova Wildcats concluded their regular season with a 20-14 record, finishing sixth in the Big East Conference with an 11-9 conference record. They secured a first-round victory over Seton Hall in the Big East tournament before falling to UConn in the quarterfinals. Villanova accepted a bid to the inaugural College Basketball Crown tournament, where they advanced to the second round. USC Trojans (17-17) ended their season with a 17-17 overall record, placing 12th in the Big Ten Conference with an 8-14 conference record. Despite a challenging season, USC's balanced scoring and defensive efforts have been pivotal in their tournament run. Villanova averages 73.4 points per game, shooting 42.4% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range. USC averages 76.9 points per game with a field goal percentage of 44.8% and 32% from beyond the arc. The Wildcats allow an average of 67.7 points per game, while the Trojans concede 75.5 points per game. Villanova: Forward Eric Dixon leads the Wildcats with an average of 23.0 points per game, providing a significant offensive presence. USC: Guard Desmond Claude is the Trojans' top scorer, averaging 16.0 points per game, and also contributes 4.3 assists per game. I'm looking at taking the dog here tonight. USC has had its ups and downs this year but they are close to home in Las Vegas and should have a good crowd presence. Take USC.

04-01-25 Colorado v. Villanova -3.5 Top 64-85 Win 100 9 h 44 m Show

The College Basketball Crown tournament tips off in Las Vegas with an intriguing first-round matchup between the Colorado Buffaloes (14-20) and the Villanova Wildcats (19-14). Both programs are looking to cap their seasons with a strong showing in this inaugural postseason event. Despite a tough season overall, Colorado found late momentum during the Big 12 Championship, notching impressive upsets over TCU and West Virginia before falling to Houston in the quarterfinals. That stretch demonstrated the Buffaloes’ grit and ability to play up to their competition when it matters most. Colorado averages 69.9 points per game on 44.6% shooting while allowing 71.5 points defensively. Guard Julian Hammond III leads the team in scoring with 12.5 points per game, and Andrej Jakimovski adds value on the boards and defensively. Villanova enters the tournament with a solid 19-14 record, but recent coaching changes have added an extra layer of intrigue. The Wildcats are turning to assistant coach Mike Nardi as interim head coach, and how the team responds could be a key factor in this game. Offensively, Villanova has been more efficient than Colorado, putting up 73.4 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field and an impressive 39.8% from three-point range. Defensively, they allow 67.5 points per game. Forward Eric Dixon leads the scoring attack with 23.0 points per game, with guard Wooga Poplar contributing 14.5 points per game. This game is a classic clash of tempo and efficiency. Villanova’s offensive polish, particularly from beyond the arc, will test Colorado’s perimeter defense. Villanova’s consistent shooting and experience give them the edge here tonight, especially if Dixon and Poplar find early rhythm. I'm taking Villanova in what shouldn't be a close game.

04-01-25 Oregon State v. UCF -4.5 75-76 Loss -105 6 h 44 m Show

The Oregon State Beavers (20-12) take on the UCF Knights (17-16) in a first-round clash of the newly launched College Basketball Crown (CBC) tournament. Held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, this game offers both teams a chance to build momentum and make a postseason statement. The Beavers average 76.3 points per game while shooting an efficient 48.4% from the field. They allow 72.8 points per contest, with opponents shooting 44.2% against them. Michael Rataj leads the team with 16.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, anchoring the offense and providing a strong inside presence. UCF puts up 79.3 points per game, though their overall shooting percentage sits at 42.4%. The Knights give up 75.5 points per game, with opponents hitting 45.1% from the floor. Keyshawn Hall is the go-to scorer, averaging 18.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. His versatility makes him a constant threat. This game features two offensively capable squads who have struggled to consistently lock things down on the defensive end. Oregon State holds the advantage in shooting efficiency, while UCF boasts a slightly higher scoring average and a more up-tempo style. I'm taking Central Florida here on Tuesday.

03-31-25 Utah v. Butler +2 84-86 Win 100 4 h 43 m Show

The Utah Utes (16-16) and Butler Bulldogs (14-19) face off in the opening round of the College Basketball Crown tournament from Las Vegas, NV. Both teams are looking to finish their seasons strong after inconsistent conference play. Utah is slightly favored heading into the matchup, with the game expected to be high-scoring. Utah finished with a .500 overall record and went 8-12 in Big 12 competition. They were eliminated early in the conference tournament with a loss to UCF. Gabe Madsen: Leading scorer with 15.1 points per game and also adds 2.6 rebounds. Keanu Dawes: Coming off a 21-point performance in their most recent game. Utah excels at ball movement, averaging 17.5 assists per game, ranking among the top teams nationally in that category. Butler ended their regular season 6-14 in Big East play. They notched a win over Providence in the conference tournament before falling to St. John’s. Jahmyl Telfort: Pacing the Bulldogs with 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Pierre Brooks: Contributing 15.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Butler averages 14.0 assists per game and looks to move the ball effectively to create perimeter shots. Utah averages 75.3 points per game, while Butler averages 73.8. On defense, both teams give up around 73 points, suggesting a potentially balanced and competitive game. Utah has lost five of their last six games, while Butler has dropped four of their last five. Pretty even matched game so this one could be who is more motivated. I'm counting on Butler to be that team here tonight. Play Butler.

03-30-25 Michigan State +5 v. Auburn 64-70 Loss -110 6 h 8 m Show

The 2025 NCAA Tournament’s South Regional Final brings a high-stakes clash between two powerhouse programs as the No. 2 seed Michigan State Spartans face off against the No. 1 seed Auburn Tigers on Sunday in Atlanta. Tip-off is set for 5:05 PM ET at State Farm Arena, and a trip to the Final Four in San Antonio is on the line. Michigan State Spartans (30-6) under Tom Izzo has once again led his Spartans deep into March, relying on a disciplined, defense-first approach. Michigan State has allowed just over 67 points per game this season while holding opponents to 40% shooting from the field. Offensively, they average 78 points per game, with solid ball movement and efficient perimeter play. Freshman guard Jase Richardson has emerged as a clutch performer, dropping 20 points in the Sweet 16 win over Ole Miss. Tyson Walker and A.J. Hoggard provide veteran leadership in the backcourt, while Malik Hall anchors the frontcourt with grit and experience. The Auburn Tigers (31-5) led by Bruce Pearl. The Tigers have ridden a high-octane offense to the brink of the Final Four. Auburn averages nearly 84 points per game, powered by a deep and athletic rotation. In their Sweet 16 comeback win over Michigan, the Tigers showed resilience behind Johni Broome’s 22 points and 16 rebounds. Guards Denver Jones and freshman sensation Tahaad Pettiford have given Auburn perimeter scoring punch, while their defense has held opponents to under 70 points per contest. Auburn also boasts one of the nation’s top shot-blocking teams, averaging six swats per game. Both teams are battle-tested. Michigan State thrives in gritty, close games, while Auburn can explode offensively in spurts. Whichever team dictates pace will hold the upper hand. Expect a physical, tightly contested battle with shifting momentum. Michigan State’s defense will slow Auburn’s tempo early, but the Tigers’ athleticism and depth may wear down the Spartans over 40 minutes. I look for Michigan State to come in under the spread if not win outright. Play Michigan State.

03-29-25 Alabama +7.5 v. Duke 65-85 Loss -115 20 h 16 m Show

The Elite Eight clash between the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils and No. 2 seed Alabama Crimson Tide is set for Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, with tipoff at 8:49 p.m. ET. Duke comes in with a 34-3 record, driven by an efficient and balanced roster. Freshman sensation Cooper Flagg has led the way, averaging 19 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. His performance in the Sweet 16 — 30 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks — was nothing short of elite, proving he’s built for March. Alabama (28-8) brings one of the most potent offenses in the country, fresh off a 113-88 win over BYU where they set an NCAA Tournament record with 25 made three-pointers. Senior guard Mark Sears exploded for 34 points, hitting 10 from beyond the arc. Alabama’s experience and tempo-heavy attack make them a unique threat. The defining battle could be between Duke’s top-ranked two-point defense (holding opponents to 43.2%) and Alabama’s explosive two-point offense (converting 60.1%). Another critical factor will be Alabama’s outside shooting against Duke’s strong perimeter defense, which has limited opponents to around 30% from deep. Duke leads the all-time series 8-3 and has won seven straight matchups against Alabama. However, these teams haven’t met since 2013, and both programs have evolved significantly since then. This game pits Duke’s polished, defensive-minded approach against Alabama’s free-flowing, high-octane offense. The outcome may depend on whether Duke can limit Alabama’s three-point barrage and slow down their pace. Either way, this one has all the makings of a classic.  I look for Alabama to come in under the spread here today. This is too many points for a team of this caliber. I'm taking Alabama.

03-29-25 Texas Tech v. Florida -6.5 Top 79-84 Loss -108 18 h 37 m Show

The No. 1 seed Florida Gators face off against the No. 3 seed Texas Tech Red Raiders in a high-stakes Elite Eight showdown at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:09 p.m. ET. Florida rides into this game on a nine-game win streak, including a dominant 87-71 Sweet 16 victory over Maryland. The Gators showed off their depth with six players scoring in double figures and a +18 margin on the glass. They’ve been one of the tournament’s most efficient offensive teams, averaging 85.4 points per game heading into the round. Florida’s success comes from balance — several players are shooting 35.7% or better from beyond the arc — and a stingy defense that has held opponents to just 25.8% shooting from deep during the tournament. Texas Tech punched their ticket to the Elite Eight with an 85-83 overtime comeback win over Arkansas, erasing a 16-point deficit. JT Toppin, Darrion Williams, and Christian Anderson combined for 62 points, carrying the Red Raiders through a nail-biting finish. However, Texas Tech’s outside shooting has dipped in the tournament. They’ve connected on just 25.0% of their three-point attempts, down from a season average of 36.7%. The possible absence of guard Chance McMillian due to an oblique injury could also impact their rotation. The spotlight will be on how Texas Tech’s offense handles Florida’s elite defense. Florida ranks second in adjusted offensive efficiency (129.2 points per 100 possessions) and ninth in adjusted defensive efficiency (92.9 points allowed per 100 possessions). One key battle will be at point guard: Elijah Hawkins for Texas Tech vs. Walter Clayton Jr. for Florida. Whoever controls the pace and tempo could shift the game’s direction dramatically.  I believe Tech was fortunate to come back in their win over Arkansas. That won't happen against a team like Florida. I'm taking the Gators here on Saturday.

03-28-25 Michigan +9 v. Auburn 65-78 Loss -108 20 h 2 m Show

A high-stakes Sweet 16 showdown is set as the fifth-seeded Michigan Wolverines face off against the top-seeded Auburn Tigers. Both teams bring unique strengths to the table, making this a clash of styles that promises plenty of intrigue. Michigan Wolverines (27-9, No. 5 Seed): In their first year under head coach Dusty May, the Wolverines have been resilient and efficient. Michigan battled past UC San Diego in a close first-round win, then came back from a double-digit deficit to defeat Texas A&M in the Round of 32. The frontcourt tandem of senior center Vladislav Goldin (16.8 PPG) and junior center Danny Wolf (13.0 PPG, 9.8 RPG) has provided a steady scoring and rebounding punch. Sophomore guard Tre Donaldson adds balance to the offense, contributing 4.2 assists per game. Auburn Tigers (30-5, No. 1 Seed): Auburn enters the Sweet 16 with one of the most explosive offenses in college basketball, averaging 83.8 points per game. After cruising past Alabama State and taking care of Creighton, the Tigers continue to look like a national title contender. Junior forward Johni Broome has been a dominant force all season, averaging 18.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. His ability to impact both ends of the court makes him a key figure in this matchup. This game will likely be won or lost in the paint. Michigan’s duo of Goldin and Wolf will go toe-to-toe with Broome in what should be a physical battle. The team that can establish interior dominance will gain a significant edge. While the big men get the headlines, guard play will be critical. Michigan’s Donaldson will need to control pace and limit turnovers, while Auburn’s guards will look to push tempo and create opportunities in transition. This Sweet 16 matchup has all the ingredients of a thriller—star power, contrasting styles, and high stakes. A trip to the Elite Eight hangs in the balance, and both teams will look to leave everything on the floor. I'm taking the points here with Michigan.

03-28-25 Ole Miss v. Michigan State -3.5 70-73 Loss -108 17 h 11 m Show

The NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 brings together two programs on contrasting historical paths: the rising Ole Miss Rebels and the battle-tested Michigan State Spartans. Michigan State Spartans (29-6, No. 2 Seed): Led by legendary coach Tom Izzo, the Spartans continue their postseason dominance. They earned their Sweet 16 berth with commanding wins over Bryant and New Mexico. Senior guard Jaden Akins anchors the backcourt with 12.6 points per game, while junior forward Jaxon Kohler provides a steady interior presence, averaging 7.8 points and 7.5 rebounds. Michigan State’s greatest strength lies in its perimeter defense—currently ranked best in the nation at defending the three-point shot, limiting opponents to just 27.8% from deep. Ole Miss Rebels (24-11, No. 6 Seed): Under first-year head coach Chris Beard, the Rebels are enjoying a historic run to their first Sweet 16 appearance since 2001. Ole Miss upset North Carolina and Iowa State in impressive fashion. Senior guard Sean Pedulla has led the charge, averaging 20 points per game in the tournament. The Rebels excel at taking care of the basketball, ranking among the top five nationally in fewest turnovers. However, rebounding remains a weak spot, particularly on the offensive glass. The Spartans enjoy a clear advantage on the boards, especially given Ole Miss’s struggles in this area. Controlling the glass could tilt the game Michigan State’s way in terms of second-chance opportunities and overall possession control. I look for a physical battle here on Friday with Michigan State coming out with the win and cover. Play Michigan State.

03-27-25 Arizona v. Duke -9 93-100 Loss -110 29 h 5 m Show

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Sweet 16 features the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils and the No. 4 seed Arizona Wildcats on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:39 p.m. ET, with television coverage on CBS. This is a rematch from earlier in the season where Duke prevailed, 69-55. Duke Blue Devils (33-3) have  demonstrated dominance throughout the season, currently on a 13-game winning streak. Their offense is led by standout freshman Cooper Flagg, who has fully recovered from an earlier ankle injury and is expected to play without limitations. They average 83.2 ppg while allowing just 61.7 ppg. The Blue Devils have also benefited from a strategic lineup change, with Sion James replacing Caleb Foster, enhancing their performance significantly. Arizona Wildcats (24-12) have shown resilience, overcoming a 15-point deficit to defeat Oregon 87-83 in the Round of 32. Caleb Love has been a pivotal player, delivering consistent performances and leading the team's offense. Arizona's defense has improved notably, preparing them for the physicality of the NCAA Tournament. Arizona averages 82.2 ppg. I personally love the defensive intensity that Duke has shown and for me that will be the difference here today. I'll take Duke minus the points.

03-27-25 Maryland v. Florida -6 71-87 Win 100 27 h 41 m Show

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Sweet 16 features the No. 1 seed Florida Gators and the No. 4 seed Maryland Terrapins on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:39 p.m. ET, with television coverage on TBS. Florida enters the game with a 32-4 record, showcasing a potent offense that ranks third nationally in scoring. The Gators are led by All-American guard Walter Clayton Jr., who has made a three-pointer in 57 consecutive games, setting a program record. In the NCAA Tournament, Florida has demonstrated resilience and depth, notably defeating the defending national champions in the previous round. Maryland holds a 27-8 record, surpassing preseason expectations that projected them to finish 10th in the Big Ten. The Terrapins have displayed balanced play throughout the season, with significant contributions from freshman standout Derik Queen, who secured a game-winning buzzer-beater against Colorado State to advance to the Sweet 16. The battle between Florida's high-scoring offense and Maryland's disciplined defense will be pivotal. The Gators' ability to maintain their offensive efficiency against the Terrapins' defensive schemes could determine the game's outcome. Florida has all the weapons to make the championship game and I see them scoring a lot of points here today. I'm taking the Florida Gators as my Sweet 16 Game of the Year.

03-27-25 BYU +5.5 v. Alabama 88-113 Loss -108 26 h 10 m Show

The NCAA Tournament continues Thursday with a compelling Sweet 16 matchup between the high-octane Alabama Crimson Tide and the disciplined BYU Cougars. Both teams have looked sharp in the opening rounds and bring very different styles to the court, setting the stage for a classic clash of pace and precision. BYU Cougars — No. 5 Seed (Big 12) are 25-10 and coming off a win over No. 4 seed Kansas State. The Cougars have ridden their perimeter shooting and disciplined ball movement to reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2011. Head coach Mark Pope has this team playing smart, unselfish basketball. BYU ranks among the top teams in the nation in assists and three-point attempts, often stretching defenses thin with five-out lineups. Jaxson Robinson — The senior wing has been electric from deep, averaging over 17 points per game in the tournament and shooting above 40% from three. His ability to hit contested shots and create space will be vital. Alabama Crimson Tide — No. 1 Seed (SEC) are 29-6 and coming off a win over No. 8 seed Texas A&M. The Tide enter the Sweet 16 after rolling through their first two opponents with their signature blend of pace, spacing, and athleticism. Nate Oats’ squad continues to be one of the fastest-paced teams in the country, looking to score early and often with a deep arsenal of shooters and slashers.  Mark Sears — The veteran guard has been the engine of Alabama's offense, combining elite shot-making with excellent vision. His ability to break down BYU’s defense and control tempo will be crucial. Alabama wants to run; BYU wants to control tempo. If the Cougars can limit turnovers and force Alabama into half-court sets, they they have a great shot to pull the shocker upset of the top seed. Take the points with BYU.

03-26-25 Kent State +5 v. Loyola-Chicago 62-72 Loss -108 18 h 45 m Show

The Kent State Golden Flashes and the Loyola Chicago Ramblers are set to clash in the NIT quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Gentile Arena in Chicago. Both teams enter the matchup with identical 24-11 records, aiming to secure a spot in the tournament's semifinals. The Ramblers concluded their season with a 13-7 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They are currently on a two-game winning streak, including a narrow 77-76 victory over San Francisco in the NIT's previous round. Loyola Chicago averages 73.6 points per game, shooting 45.7% from the field, and allows 68.9 points per game defensively. The Golden Flashes finished their Mid-American Conference play with a 12-8 record. They have won their last two games, most recently defeating Stanford 77-75 to advance in the NIT. Kent State averages 73.9 points per game on 43.7% shooting and concedes 68.2 points per game to opponents.  Loyola Chicago: Guard Jayden Dawson leads the team with 13.8 points per game, shooting 41.2% from the field. Des Watson has been a significant contributor, averaging 14.4 points over the last ten games. Kent State: Guard Jalen Sullinger tops the scoring chart with 15.8 points per game, maintaining a 42.6% field goal percentage. VonCameron Davis has stepped up recently, averaging 12.5 points in the last ten games. Loyola Chicago averages 8.5 made three-pointers per game, which could challenge Kent State's perimeter defense that allows 7.1 three-pointers per game. Conversely, Kent State scores 5.0 more points per game than Loyola Chicago typically allows, indicating a potential offensive advantage. This quarterfinal matchup features two evenly matched teams with contrasting strengths. I'm taking the points here on Wednesday. Play Kent State.

03-24-25 Queens NC +4 v. Cleveland State 73-88 Loss -110 6 h 43 m Show

The College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament continues with a compelling second-round matchup between the Queens University Royals and the Cleveland State Vikings on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Queens University Royals (20-14) enter this contest with momentum, having secured an 85-78 victory over Northern Arizona in the first round. In that game, Queens showcased offensive efficiency, shooting 55.9% from the field and 54.5% from three-point range. Senior forward Leo Colimerio leads the team, averaging 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Guard Chris Ashby contributes significantly with 12.7 points per game. Offensively, the Royals average 76.0 points per game, shooting 44.3% from the field and 34.3% from beyond the arc. Defensively, they allow 73.7 points per game, with opponents shooting 45.1% from the field. Cleveland State Vikings (21-12), after a narrow 56-54 loss to Youngstown State in the Horizon League semifinals, received a first-round bye in the CBI Tournament. Senior guard Tevin Smith leads the team with 13.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, while junior guard Tahj Staveskie adds 12.0 points per game. The Vikings average 72.8 points per game, shooting 45.0% from the field and 33.4% from three-point range. Defensively, they are strong, allowing 66.0 points per game and holding opponents to 43.7% shooting. This game presents a contrast in styles: Queens' high-tempo offense versus Cleveland State's disciplined defense. The Royals will aim to leverage their scoring depth and pace, while the Vikings will focus on controlling the game's tempo and utilizing their defensive prowess. I expect a close game here on Monday with Queens pulling the upset win.

Play Queens

03-23-25 Oregon +3.5 v. Arizona Top 83-87 Loss -108 20 h 54 m Show

The No. 4 seed Arizona Wildcats (23-12) are set to face the No. 5 seed Oregon Ducks (25-9) in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 23, 2025. The game will tip off at 6:40 PM PT at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, and will be broadcast on TBS. The Wildcats advanced with a dominant 93-65 victory over Akron. They are averaging 82.1 points per game, ranking 12th nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency. Arizona leads the Big 12 in rebounding, averaging 36.6 boards per game. However, their season-long three-point shooting percentage stands at 32.9%, though they've improved to 42.2% over the last six games. The Ducks secured their spot with an 81-52 win over Liberty, shooting 54.4% from the field. They have won nine of their last ten games, with a defense that has surged over the past month. Oregon averages 76.4 points per game and allows 70.4 points per game.  Two old PAC-12 teams meet again but for the first time in the NCAA Tournament. I'm taking Oregon here on Sunday as my NCAA 2nd Round Game of the Year.

Defensively, they have allowed 70.6 points per game, with opponents shooting 43.5% from the field.  Both teams have demonstrated strong performances leading up to this game. Kent State's balanced scoring and defensive tenacity will be crucial against Stanford's potent offense, led by Raynaud. The Cardinal's home-court advantage, reflected in their impressive 17-2 record at Maples Pavilion, could play a significant role. I'll take Kent State here on Sunday

03-23-25 Jacksonville State +8 v. Cal-Irvine 61-66 Win 100 9 h 20 m Show

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks (23-12) are set to face the UC Irvine Anteaters (29-6) in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET. The Gamecocks enter this matchup following a commanding 81-64 victory over Georgia Tech in the first round of the NIT. This win marked a significant milestone, as it was only the second time in program history that Jacksonville State defeated a Power Five conference team. Leading the charge was Jaron Pierre Jr., who delivered an impressive 30-point performance.  Throughout the season, Pierre Jr. has been a pivotal player for the Gamecocks, averaging 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. His contributions earned him the Conference USA Player of the Year award. Supporting him is freshman guard Quel'Ron House, who has been instrumental since joining the starting lineup, averaging 8.3 points per game in conference play and leading the team with 58 assists over 17 conference games. Defensively, Jacksonville State has been solid, allowing an average of 68.5 points per game, ranking 76th nationally. They have been formidable at home, boasting an 11-2 record at the Bren Events Center this season. Offensively, UC Irvine averages 76.3 points per game, shooting 45.8% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range. They are exceptional from the free-throw line, converting 80.2% of their attempts, which ranks third nationally. Defensively, the Anteaters are robust, allowing 66.4 points per game, ranking 36th nationally. They are particularly effective in defending inside the arc, holding opponents to a 43% shooting percentage on two-point attempts, which is the second-best mark in the country. This game presents a contrast in styles. Jacksonville State prefers a slower pace, averaging 67.6 possessions per game, which ranks 303rd nationally. This deliberate style has been effective in limiting opponents' scoring opportunities. In contrast, UC Irvine operates at a faster pace and has a balanced approach on both ends of the court. Take Jacksonville State

03-23-25 Ole Miss v. Iowa State -5.5 91-78 Loss -105 19 h 34 m Show

The No. 3 seed Iowa State Cyclones (25-9) are set to face the No. 6 seed Mississippi Rebels (23-11) in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Sunday, March 23, 2025. The game will tip off at 7:45 PM Eastern Time at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and will be broadcast on truTV. The Cyclones advanced with a commanding 82-55 victory over Lipscomb. They shot 58% from the field and 37% from three-point range. Notably, forward Milan Momcilovic led with 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting. Guard Curtis Jones, averaging 17.1 points per game, is a key offensive contributor. The Rebels secured a 71-64 win over North Carolina, building a 22-point lead before withstanding a late comeback. Guard Sean Pedulla led with 20 points, while forward Dre Davis added 15. Under coach Chris Beard, Ole Miss emphasizes defensive pressure and veteran leadership, starting four seniors and a junior. Iowa State's Milan Momcilovic, a versatile 6-foot-8 forward, poses matchup challenges with his ability to stretch the floor. Containing Iowa State's Curtis Jones is crucial for Ole Miss. Jones has recorded multiple 30-point games this season and excels at drawing fouls. Iowa State's balanced offense and defensive strength make them the side I'll be on Sunday. Play Iowa State.

03-23-25 Arkansas State +4.5 v. North Texas 63-65 Win 100 17 h 13 m Show

The Arkansas State Red Wolves (25-10) are set to face the North Texas Mean Green (25-8) in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Key players include guard Taryn Todd, averaging 14.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and forward Izaiyah Nelson, contributing 26 points and 10 rebounds in their recent win. Offensively, they average 68.3 points per game, shooting 45.1% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc. Guard Atin Wright leads the team with 15.2 points per game, while center Moulaye Sissoko adds 7.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. This game features a classic matchup between Arkansas State's high-scoring offense and North Texas's stifling defense. North Texas prefers a slower tempo, ranking near the bottom nationally in possessions per game, while Arkansas State thrives in a faster-paced game. Controlling the game's tempo will be crucial. I'm sticking with the better offense here on Sunday and that's Arkansas State.

03-23-25 Loyola-Chicago +5.5 v. San Francisco 77-76 Win 100 7 h 21 m Show

The Loyola Chicago Ramblers (23-11) are set to face the San Francisco Dons (25-9) in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in San Francisco. The Ramblers have demonstrated resilience this season, particularly in their recent 73-70 victory over San Jose State in the NIT's first round. Complementing him is junior guard Jayden Dawson, who has been instrumental in the backcourt, averaging 13.0 points per game and shooting 39.4% from three-point range in conference play. Defensively, sophomore center Miles Rubin has been a formidable presence, ranking eighth nationally with 79 blocks this season. The Dons have been impressive, particularly at home, boasting a 17-1 record at the Sobrato Center. In their NIT opener, they secured a 79-70 win over Utah Valley, with senior guard Malik Thomas recording a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Thomas has been a standout performer all season, averaging 19.4 points per game on 44.8% shooting. Junior guard Marcus Williams has also been pivotal, contributing 15.1 points and a team-high 4.3 assists per game. The Dons' offense averages 76.0 points per game, shooting 45.6% from the field. These teams met earlier this season on December 15, with San Francisco emerging victorious, 76-66. In that game, Malik Thomas delivered a stellar performance, scoring 35 points. Historically, Loyola Chicago leads the series 4-3. I'll take the dog in this one with Loyola Chicago.

03-22-25 UCLA +5.5 v. Tennessee 58-67 Loss -115 20 h 30 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's second-round matchup between the No. 2 seed Tennessee Volunteers and the No. 7 seed UCLA Bruins is set for Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. Both teams advanced with decisive first-round victories, setting the stage for a compelling contest. Tennessee Volunteers (28-7): Under head coach Rick Barnes, Tennessee has showcased a balanced attack, averaging 74.8 points per game while limiting opponents to 63.0 points. Their defense has been particularly effective, holding teams to a 38.3% field goal percentage. The Volunteers are also proficient from beyond the arc, averaging 8.3 made three-pointers per game.  UCLA Bruins (23-10): Coached by Mick Cronin, UCLA emphasizes defensive tenacity, allowing just 65.2 points per game. Offensively, the Bruins average 74.7 points, with a field goal percentage of 46.7%. They also maintain a strong assist-to-turnover ratio, averaging 16.5 assists against 10.0 turnovers per game. Tennessee: Chaz Lanier: Averaging 18.0 points per game, Lanier is a prolific scorer, shooting 40.3% from three-point range with an average of 3.3 made three-pointers per game. Zakai Zeigler: The dynamic point guard contributes 13.7 points and 7.5 assists per game, orchestrating the Volunteers' offense with precision. UCLA: Tyler Bilodeau: Leading the Bruins with 13.5 points per game, Bilodeau is an efficient scorer, shooting 49.5% from the field and 40.4% from three-point range. Eric Dailey Jr.: A versatile forward, Dailey Jr. averages 11.7 points per game and is known for his defensive prowess, contributing significantly to UCLA's turnover-forcing defense. Both teams pride themselves on stout defense, suggesting a low-scoring affair. Tennessee's ability to convert from long range could stretch UCLA's defense, while the Bruins' emphasis on ball movement aims to exploit defensive gaps. The individual matchup between Lanier and UCLA's perimeter defenders will be pivotal. This should be a great defensive batlle. And as such, points are critical. I'll take the points with UCLA.

03-22-25 Creighton +9 v. Auburn 70-82 Loss -108 17 h 48 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's second-round matchup between the Creighton Bluejays and the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, promises to be a thrilling contest. Creighton, the No. 9 seed, enters with a 25-10 record, while top-seeded Auburn boasts a 29-5 mark. Creighton Bluejays: Under head coach Greg McDermott, Creighton has been a consistent force, aiming for their fourth Sweet 16 appearance in five years. They secured a convincing 89-75 victory over Louisville in the first round, showcasing their offensive prowess. Auburn Tigers: Led by coach Bruce Pearl, Auburn has been dominant this season, though they've faced some challenges recently. They advanced with an 83-63 win over Alabama State, demonstrating their depth and versatility. Creighton: Ryan Kalkbrenner: Averaging 19.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, Kalkbrenner's presence in the paint is pivotal for the Bluejays.  Steven Ashworth: Contributing 15.9 points and 6.8 assists per game over the last ten outings, Ashworth's playmaking abilities are crucial for Creighton's offense. Auburn: Johni Broome: With averages of 18.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, Broome is a dominant force in the frontcourt. Miles Kelly: Kelly has been instrumental, averaging 14.6 points over the last ten games, providing a consistent scoring option for the Tigers. Both teams emphasize strong frontcourt play. The anticipated matchup between Kalkbrenner and Broome will be central to the game's outcome. Creighton's defense will need to limit Auburn's three-point shooting, as the Tigers average 9.2 made three-pointers per game. Conversely, Auburn must find ways to penetrate Creighton's defense, which has been effective in limiting opponents' shooting percentages.  This matchup features two well-coached teams with contrasting styles. Auburn's high-octane offense and depth will challenge Creighton's disciplined defense and efficient scoring. A lot of points to lay to a talented Creighton team. I'll take the points here on Saturday. Play Creighton.

03-22-25 Michigan +3.5 v. Texas A&M 91-79 Win 100 15 h 53 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's second-round matchup between the Michigan Wolverines and the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, is set for 5:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS. Michigan Wolverines (5th seed, 26-9): Under first-year head coach Dusty May, Michigan has experienced a resurgence, capturing the Big Ten Tournament title and extending their winning streak to four games. Their recent 68-65 victory over UC San Diego highlighted both their potential and areas needing improvement, particularly in maintaining leads and free-throw shooting. Texas A&M Aggies (4th seed, 23-10): Coached by Buzz Williams, the Aggies have been formidable, especially in non-conference play, boasting a 12-2 record. Their 80-71 win over Yale showcased their offensive capabilities, with standout performances from Pharrel Payne (25 points, 10 rebounds) and Wade Taylor IV (16 points, 5 assists). Michigan: Vladislav Goldin: The center leads the team with averages of 16.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Danny Wolf: Averaging a near double-double with 13.0 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, Wolf's presence in the paint is significant. Texas A&M: Wade Taylor IV: The senior guard is pivotal, averaging 15.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. Zhuric Phelps: Contributing 13.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, Phelps adds depth to the Aggies' backcourt. This matchup is expected to be tightly contested, with both teams showcasing strengths in different areas. Should be one of the tighter contests on Saturday. I'll be on Michigan.

03-22-25 McNeese State +6.5 v. Purdue 62-76 Loss -115 10 h 47 m Show

The upcoming NCAA Tournament matchup between the McNeese State Cowboys and the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, March 22, 2025, promises to be an intriguing contest. McNeese State, a No. 12 seed, is riding high after a stunning 69-67 victory over No. 5 seed Clemson, marking their first-ever NCAA tournament win. Under the guidance of second-year coach Will Wade, the Cowboys have showcased resilience and tactical prowess. Notably, Wade has been transparent about his impending move to North Carolina State post-tournament, a decision that has added an extra layer of motivation for his team. Purdue, the No. 4 seed, enters this game with a 23-11 record. They secured a 75-63 win over High Point in the first round, with standout performances from Trey Kaufman-Renn and Braden Smith, who each contributed over 20 points. However, Smith's efficiency was a concern, shooting 6-for-19 from the field. McNeese State: Brandon Murray emerged as a pivotal player in the victory against Clemson, leading the team with 21 points off the bench. Additionally, point guard Quadir Copeland, standing at 6'6", offers size and versatility, though his perimeter shooting remains a work in progress. Purdue: Trey Kaufman-Renn leads the Boilermakers with an average of 20.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Braden Smith, despite recent shooting struggles, is integral to Purdue's offensive rhythm, averaging 16.2 points and 8.6 assists per game. McNeese State's defense was instrumental in their upset over Clemson, limiting the Tigers to 36.8% shooting. Their aggressive zone defense disrupted Clemson's offensive flow, a strategy they may employ against Purdue. Purdue, conversely, must improve its shooting efficiency and handle defensive pressure adeptly to avoid potential pitfalls. While Purdue possesses the experience and talent expected of a higher seed, McNeese State's recent performances and tactical adaptability make them a formidable opponent. I'll take the points here with McNeese State.

03-21-25 Liberty +7.5 v. Oregon 52-81 Loss -115 21 h 28 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's East Region features an intriguing first-round matchup between the No. 5 seed Oregon Ducks and the No. 12 seed Liberty Flames on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Oregon Ducks (24-9, 13-9 Big Ten) are in their inaugural Big Ten season, the Ducks secured an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. They are led by standout center Nate Bittle, who averages 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, and point guard Jackson Shelstad, contributing 14.9 points per game over the last 10 contests. Oregon's defense allows 70.9 points per game, and they have a 5-1 record in games decided by three points or fewer. Liberty Flames (28-6, 16-5 Conference USA) clinched both the regular-season and tournament titles in Conference USA. They boast one of the nation's most efficient offenses, ranking sixth in field goal percentage and seventh in three-point shooting. Defensively, they are formidable, ranking 10th in points allowed and fourth in three-point defense. Guard Kaden Metheny, an All-Conference USA second-team selection, averages 13.8 points per game and earned tournament MVP honors.  Liberty's proficiency from beyond the arc is a cornerstone of their offense. Oregon's ability to defend the perimeter will be crucial in limiting Liberty's scoring opportunities. This effecient offense of the Flames should keep them close here today.

03-21-25 Troy State +11.5 v. Kentucky 57-76 Loss -108 18 h 28 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's Midwest Region features a first-round matchup between the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats and the No. 14 seed Troy Trojans on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Kentucky Wildcats (22-11, 11-9 SEC) are under first-year head coach Mark Pope. Kentucky has navigated a season marked by roster reconstruction and injuries. The Wildcats average 79.6 points per game, led by guard Otega Oweh, who contributes 16.2 points per game. The anticipated return of point guard Lamont Butler, who has been sidelined with ankle and shoulder injuries, is expected to bolster Kentucky's performance. Troy Trojans (23-10, 13-5 Sun Belt) are coached by Scott Cross. Troy secured an automatic NCAA Tournament bid by winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Trojans average 73.9 points per game, with standout guard Tayton Conerway leading the offense, averaging 14.3 points and 4.8 assists per game. Conerway's performance was pivotal in the Sun Belt Championship, where he scored 21 points, including 16 in the final 10 minutes, to secure a comeback victory. Kentucky's roster, rebuilt through transfers, boasts considerable collegiate experience, though limited in NCAA Tournament play. Troy, with momentum from their conference tournament success, may leverage their cohesion against Kentucky's relatively new lineup. Troy's defense should keep them under the spread in this one. I'm taking the points with Troy.

03-21-25 Grand Canyon +10.5 v. Maryland Top 49-81 Loss -108 16 h 2 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's West Region features an intriguing first-round matchup between the No. 4 seed Maryland Terrapins and the No. 13 seed Grand Canyon Antelopes on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.  Maryland Terrapins (25-8, 14-6 Big Ten) are under head coach Kevin Willard, Maryland has showcased a dynamic offense, averaging 81.7 points per game, while maintaining a solid defense, allowing 67.0 points per game. The backcourt is bolstered by Ja'Kobi Gillespie, who contributes 14.7 points and 5.0 assists per game. Grand Canyon Antelopes (26-7, 13-3 WAC) are coached by Bryce Drew. Grand Canyon secured its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance by winning the WAC Tournament. The Antelopes average 79.2 points per game and allow 69.1 points per game. Senior forward JaKobe Coles leads the team with 14.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, earning the WAC Tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. Graduate guard Tyon Grant-Foster, a key player in last year's tournament run, adds experience and averages 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Grand Canyon's roster boasts significant postseason experience, with players like Grant-Foster and Harrison returning for a fifth year. In contrast, Maryland relies on the talent of freshman Derik Queen, making his tournament debut. This matchup pits Maryland's youthful talent against Grand Canyon's seasoned experience. I like the experience Grand Canyon brings to this game and that has a recipe for an upset. But I'll take the points with Grand Canyon.

03-21-25 North Carolina -1.5 v. Ole Miss 64-71 Loss -108 4 h 15 m Show

3/21 01:05 PM PT / 4:05 PM ET

CB   (793) NORTH CAROLINA VS (794) MISSISSIPPI

Take: (793) NORTH CAROLINA

The North Carolina Tar Heels (23-13) are set to face the Ole Miss Rebels (22-11) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:05 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT. The Tar Heels secured their spot in the main bracket with a dominant 95-68 victory over San Diego State in the First Four. In that game, senior guard RJ Davis led the charge with 26 points, including six three-pointers. North Carolina's offense has been potent, averaging 80.8 points per game, ranking 31st nationally. They also shoot 47.6% from the field, placing them 40th in the country. Since February 1, the Tar Heels have been on an impressive run, ranking 20th nationally during that span, with an 11th-best offensive efficiency and a 64th-ranked defense. Their recent form has silenced critics who questioned their tournament inclusion, as they've won eight of their last ten games, with both losses coming against Duke. The Rebels, under the guidance of coach Chris Beard, have had a noteworthy season, earning a six-seed in the tournament. They've secured significant victories against top-tier teams, including wins over No. 4 Alabama and No. 4 Tennessee. Ole Miss is known for its disciplined play, ranking third nationally in offensive turnover percentage at 12.8%. Their defense has been effective, averaging 8.8 steals per game, placing them 29th nationally. North Carolina's high-tempo offense will challenge Ole Miss's defense, especially given the Rebels' recent defensive struggles, ranking 81st in defensive efficiency since February 1. North Carolina has been impressive of late and momentum means a lot in the tourney. I'm taking North Carolina today.

03-21-25 Vanderbilt v. St. Mary's -4 56-59 Loss -110 15 h 48 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's East Region features a first-round matchup between the No. 7 seed Saint Mary's Gaels and the No. 10 seed Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. Saint Mary's Gaels (28-5, 17-1 WCC) are under head coach Randy Bennett, the Gaels secured the West Coast Conference regular-season title, boasting a disciplined and efficient style of play. They are led by senior center Mitchell Saxen, who anchors both their offense and defense. Saint Mary's excels in controlling the tempo, ranking among the nation's best in defensive efficiency and rebounding margin. Vanderbilt Commodores (20-12, 8-10 SEC) are coached by Mark Byington. Vanderbilt's season has been marked by a high-scoring offense, averaging 79.6 points per game. The Commodores are led by guard Jason Edwards, who averages 17.0 points per game, and forward Tyler Nickel, a 40% three-point shooter. However, they face challenges in rebounding and interior defense, areas where Saint Mary's thrives.  Saint Mary's prefers a deliberate, half-court game, ranking near the bottom nationally in tempo, while Vanderbilt favors a faster pace. The team that dictates the tempo may gain a significant advantage. Saint Mary's leads the nation with a +10.7 rebounding margin per game, exploiting opponents' lack of size. Vanderbilt, ranked 198th in rebounding margin, must address this disparity to compete effectively. St Mary's will dominate the boards today and look to slow the pace. I'll take St Mary's in this one.

03-21-25 Colorado State -1.5 v. Memphis 78-70 Win 100 13 h 16 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's West Region features a compelling first-round matchup between the No. 5 seed Memphis Tigers and the No. 12 seed Colorado State Rams on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Memphis Tigers (29-5) are under head coach Penny Hardaway, Memphis secured the American Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles. They are led by sophomore guard PJ Haggerty, who averages 21.8 points per game. However, the Tigers face potential challenges with injuries to key point guards Tyrese Hunter and Dante Harris, both of whom are uncertain for this game. Colorado State Rams (25-9) enter the tournament on a 10-game winning streak, having clinched the Mountain West Tournament championship. They are led by Nique Clifford, who averages 19.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Clifford's recent performance has been exceptional, averaging 25.0 points and 10.3 rebounds during the conference tournament. Memphis' potential absence of Hunter and Harris could place additional pressure on Haggerty and affect the team's offensive rhythm. This matchup presents a classic scenario where a lower-seeded team enters with momentum, while the higher seed faces adversity. I'm taking Colorado State here on Friday.

03-21-25 Lipscomb +14.5 v. Iowa State 55-82 Loss -107 13 h 47 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's South Region features a first-round matchup between the No. 3 seed Iowa State Cyclones and the No. 14 seed Lipscomb Bisons on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Iowa State Cyclones (24-9, 13-7 Big 12) are under head coach T.J. Otzelberger. The Cyclones have demonstrated a balanced approach, averaging 80.4 points per game while allowing 68.1 points per game. They are led by guard Curtis Jones, who averages 17.1 points per game and was named the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year. However, the team faces a significant challenge with the absence of starting guard Keshon Gilbert, who has been sidelined due to a muscle strain. Lipscomb Bisons (25-9, 14-4 ASUN) are coached by Lennie Acuff. Lipscomb secured the ASUN Tournament championship to earn their spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Bisons average 79.3 points per game and allow 67.3 points per game. Senior forward Jacob Ognacevic leads the team with 20.1 points per game, shooting an impressive 41% from three-point range. The absence of Keshon Gilbert places additional pressure on Curtis Jones to lead the Cyclones' backcourt. His performance will be crucial in maintaining offensive efficiency and defensive stability. A lot of points to lay with an Iowa State team without one of their star players. I'm going to teak the points in this one with Lipscomb.

03-20-25 UC San Diego +2.5 v. Michigan 65-68 Loss -105 21 h 40 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's first-round matchup between the No. 5 seed Michigan Wolverines and the No. 12 seed UC San Diego Tritons is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, with tip-off at 10:00 PM EST. The Michigan Wolverines (25-9) enter the tournament as the Big Ten Conference champions, rebounding from a late-season slump to secure the title. The Wolverines average 78.3 points per game, shooting 47.4% from the field, and allow 71.2 points per game defensively. A notable feature of their lineup is the presence of two seven-footers, Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf, providing a significant size advantage. The UC San Diego Tritons (30-4) are making their NCAA Tournament debut, the Tritons have had a remarkable season, boasting a 15-game winning streak and dominating the Big West Conference. They average 79.8 points per game while allowing just 61.6 points, ranking eighth nationally in defense. Offensively, they shoot 46.6% from the field and 36.6% from three-point range. Senior forward Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones leads the team, averaging nearly 20 points per game, five rebounds, and four assists, shooting 57% from the field. Michigan's significant height advantage, with two seven-footers, contrasts with UC San Diego's smaller lineup, which lacks players taller than 6'8". This disparity could impact rebounding and interior play. The Tritons excel in ball pressure, ranking second nationally in turnover percentage, while the Wolverines struggle with ball security, ranking 328th in turnover percentage. This dynamic could be pivotal in determining the game's outcome. UC San Diego relies heavily on three-point shooting, ranking eighth nationally in three-point rate and converting over 36% of their attempts. This game presents a classic "David vs. Goliath" scenario, with Michigan's size and experience contrasting UC San Diego's speed, defensive prowess, and three-point shooting. I'm going to take the points here on Thursday and see if UC San Diego is as good as they have looked this year. Play UC San Diego.

03-20-25 Nebraska-Omaha v. St. John's -18.5 53-83 Win 100 20 h 29 m Show

The St. John's Red Storm (30-4) under the guidance of Coach Rick Pitino, St. John's has experienced a remarkable season, securing both the Big East regular-season and tournament titles. The team emphasizes a defensive approach, ranking among the top nationally in several defensive metrics. Offensively, they average 78.3 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.7%. Key players include Big East Player of the Year R.J. Luis Jr. and forward Zuby Ejiofor, who has been instrumental in the team's success this season. The Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks (22-12) are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Summit League. They boast a potent offense, averaging nearly 78 points per game and ranking 43rd nationally in three-point shooting percentage at 36.7%. Defensively, however, they have struggled, ranking 252nd in adjusted defense. Senior forward Marquel Sutton leads the team, averaging 19.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.  St Johns is a huge favorite and rightfully so. Nebraska Omaha will likely take that "We are just happy to be here" approach while St Johns should go far in this tourney. Play St Johns.

03-20-25 Drake +6.5 v. Missouri 67-57 Win 100 18 h 7 m Show

The NCAA Tournament first-round matchup between the No. 6 seed Missouri Tigers and the No. 11 seed Drake Bulldogs is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, with tip-off at 7:35 PM EST. The Missouri Tigers (22-11) enter the tournament having lost four of their last five games. The Tigers are led by a dynamic backcourt and have a well-rounded team capable of winning in a shootout against anyone.  The Drake Bulldogs (30-3) are a veteran team that enters the tournament having won their last seven games. Junior point guard and MVC Player of the Year Bennett Stirtz executes first-year head coach Ben McCollum's slow-tempo game plan perfectly. Drake employs the slowest tempo in the country, averaging only 58.8 possessions per game, aiming to control the game's pace. Missouri, while favoring a faster pace, ranks 121st in Adjusted Tempo, indicating they can adapt to different game speeds. Missouri's defense is effective at creating turnovers, averaging 14.1 turnovers forced per game. Drake maintains ball security, averaging 11.3 turnovers per game, suggesting a critical battle in ball control. Drake comes into this game red-hot and extremely experience. Contrast that to Missouri who limps into the tourney. I'll take Drake here today.

They excel in rebounding, leading the nation in offensive rebounds with 16.2 per game and ranking fifth in total rebounds at 41.2 per game. The Yale Bulldogs (22-7) boast a potent offense, averaging 81.7 points per game, ranking 23rd nationally. They are highly efficient shooters, with a 49% field goal percentage (10th nationally) and a 38.8% three-point percentage (8th nationally). Defensively, they allow 69.7 points per game and have a strong rebounding margin of +7.2, ranking 14th nationally. Senior forward Nick Townsend is a standout, contributing significantly in scoring and rebounding. Yale's offense should keep them close enough in this game to cover the spread. Take the points with Yale.

03-20-25 VCU +2.5 v. BYU 71-80 Loss -105 15 h 37 m Show

The NCAA Tournament's first-round matchup between the No. 6 seed BYU Cougars and the No. 11 seed VCU Rams is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 4:05 PM ET at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. BYU Cougars (24-9) boast a high-octane offense, averaging 81 points per game. They are particularly effective from beyond the arc, ranking 15th nationally in three-point shooting percentage. Richie Saunders leads the team with 16 points per game, while Dallin Hall contributes 9.3 points per game. The VCU Rams (28-6) are renowned for its defensive prowess, allowing just 62.4 points per game, which ranks eighth nationally. Offensively, they average 77 points per game. Max Shulga is the team's leading scorer, averaging 15.1 points per game, and Jack Clark adds 13.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Both teams rely heavily on three-point shooting. BYU ranks 15th nationally in three-point shooting percentage, while VCU ranks 27th. Both teams can shoot the three-pointer and BYU has been putting up some big numbers of late. I'll take the OVER here to go with my side pick on VCU.

Play VCU and the OVER.

03-20-25 High Point +8.5 v. Purdue 63-75 Loss -115 11 h 11 m Show

The upcoming NCAA Tournament matchup between the No. 4 seed Purdue Boilermakers and the No. 13 seed High Point Panthers is set for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 12:40 PM ET at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. Purdue enters the tournament after a season of mixed results, having won only four of their last ten games. They suffered an 86-68 loss to Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. Offensively, Purdue averages 77.9 points per game, shooting 49% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range. Defensively, they allow 71.1 points per game. Junior forward Trey Kaufman-Renn leads the team with 20.2 points per game, while junior guard Braden Smith contributes 16.1 points and 8.7 assists per game. High Point Panthers (29-5) boast a 14-game winning streak, having not lost since January 16. They clinched the Big South Tournament title with an 81-69 victory over Winthrop. The Panthers average 82.2 points per game, ranking 19th nationally, and allow 68.8 points per game. Senior guard Kezza Giffa leads with 14.8 points per game, and sophomore center Juslin Bodo Bodo averages 8.4 rebounds per game. Offensive Efficiency: Both teams are offensively potent. Purdue's effective field goal percentage is 57%, ranking 10th nationally, while High Point averages 1.23 points per possession, ranking 5th. Purdue has struggled defensively, particularly against two-point shots, which could be problematic against High Point's strong interior offense.  I'm going to see how real this High Point team is here on Thursday. Are they a Cinderella team or fodder for a big 10 club? Take High Point plus the points.

03-19-25 Loyola-Chicago -2.5 v. San Jose State 73-70 Win 100 21 h 40 m Show

Under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Drew Valentine, the Ramblers finished their season with a 22-11 overall record and a 12-6 mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference, securing a fourth-place finish. They average 73.5 points per game while allowing 68.6, resulting in a positive scoring margin of 4.9 points. Offensively, they shoot 45.8% from the field and 35.4% from beyond the arc. However, free-throw shooting has been a weakness, with a 66.3% success rate. The team averages 31.8 rebounds per game. The Spartans concluded their season with a 15-19 record, including a 7-13 tally in the Mountain West Conference, placing them eighth. They score an average of 72.2 points per game but concede 73.3, leading to a slight negative scoring margin. The team shoots 44.6% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range, with a respectable 74% free-throw percentage. Rebounding has been a challenge, as they average 30.6 boards per game. Loyola Chicago has been in strong form, winning eight of their last ten games and covering the spread in nine of those contests. In contrast, San Jose State has struggled, losing seven of their last ten games and posting a 5-5 record against the spread during that span. Take Loyola here on Wednesday.

03-19-25 Xavier -2.5 v. Texas 86-80 Win 100 19 h 54 m Show

The Xavier Musketeers (21-11) will face the Texas Longhorns (19-15) in the NCAA Tournament's First Four on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. The winner will advance to the first round in the Midwest Region to play against Illinois on Friday. Xavier concluded the regular season with a seven-game winning streak before falling to Marquette, 89-87, in the Big East quarterfinals. Texas secured their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid after defeating Vanderbilt and Texas A&M in the Southeastern Conference tournament. They were eliminated by Tennessee in the quarterfinals. Xavier is led by Zach Freemantle who leads the team with 17.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Texas is led by Tre Johnson, SEC Freshman of the Year, leading the team with 19.8 points per game. This First Four matchup features two teams with contrasting seasons. Xavier's strong finish in the Big East and offensive prowess positions them favorably. However, Texas's resilience in the SEC tournament and the scoring ability of Tre Johnson suggest a competitive contest. Take Xavier here on Wednesday.

03-19-25 Furman +8.5 v. North Texas 64-75 Loss -108 18 h 35 m Show

The Furman Paladins (25-9) are set to face the North Texas Mean Green (24-8) in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at The Super Pit in Denton, Texas. The Paladins concluded their season with a 25-9 record, finishing 11-7 in the Southern Conference (SoCon). They reached the SoCon Championship game but fell to Wofford 92-85. Furman boasts a potent offense, averaging 77.6 points per game on 45.7% shooting, including 36.7% from three-point range. Defensively, they allow 69.7 points per game, holding opponents to 41.9% shooting.  The Mean Green posted a 24-8 record, with a 14-4 mark in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). They were eliminated by UAB in the AAC semifinals, losing 66-56. North Texas is renowned for its stifling defense, ranking third nationally by allowing just 59.3 points per game. Offensively, they average 68.5 points per game, shooting 45.5% from the field and 36.2% from beyond the arc. This matchup contrasts Furman's dynamic offense against North Texas's formidable defense. Too many points for me to pass on here on Wednesday. Take Furman.

03-19-25 Samford +6.5 v. George Mason 69-86 Loss -108 9 h 6 m Show

The Samford Bulldogs (22-10) are set to face the George Mason Patriots (26-8) in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia. Samford boasts a high-scoring offense, averaging 83.3 points per game, ranking them 12th nationally. They shoot 46.2% from the field and 36.4% from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Bulldogs allow 75.2 points per game, with opponents shooting 44.7% against them. The Patriots average 70.9 points per game, shooting 45.5% from the field and 35.4% from three-point range. They excel defensively, allowing only 63.3 points per game, ranking 12th nationally. Opponents are limited to 37.9% shooting. This matchup contrasts Samford's high-paced offense against George Mason's stringent defense. The Bulldogs' fast tempo (25th nationally) will challenge the Patriots' deliberate style (317th in pace). George Mason's home-court advantage, where they hold a 17-1 record. Samford getting plenty of points here on Wednesday with a top notch offense. I'll take Samford plus the points.

03-18-25 North Carolina v. San Diego State +5 95-68 Loss -108 22 h 33 m Show

The North Carolina Tar Heels (22-13) will face the San Diego State Aztecs (21-9) in a First Four matchup of the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. Despite a challenging season, the Tar Heels secured a tournament spot, largely due to a strong finish, winning eight of their last ten games. Their offense has been potent, averaging 83 points per game during this stretch. However, defensive inconsistencies have been a concern, particularly against top-tier opponents. Known for their defensive prowess, the Aztecs rank among the nation's top teams in defensive efficiency. Their offense, however, has struggled, ranking outside the top 100 in several key categories. They've had notable victories, including a win over Houston, but also faced disappointing losses, such as an early exit in the Mountain West Tournament.  North Carolina is led by senior guard RJ Davis leads the team with an average of 17.0 points per game. Freshman point guard Elliot Cadeau has improved his ball-handling, reducing turnovers in recent games. San Diego State is led by uard Nick Boyd who is the team's top scorer, averaging 13.4 points per game. The potential return of center Magoon Gwath, the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, could bolster their interior defense. This game presents a classic offense-versus-defense scenario. North Carolina's high-scoring offense will be tested by San Diego State's stifling defense. In playoff time I like to side with the better defensive teams. I will do that here today and take the points with San Diego State.

03-18-25 St. Louis v. Arkansas State -4.5 78-103 Win 100 21 h 33 m Show

The Saint Louis Billikens (19-14) will face the Arkansas State Red Wolves (24-10) in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Billikens concluded their season with a 19-14 record, including an 11-7 mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the A-10 Tournament but were eliminated by Loyola Chicago with a 72-64 loss. Saint Louis has been efficient offensively, shooting 47.6% from the field and averaging 74.2 points per game. However, they have struggled from the free-throw line, converting only 68.7% of their attempts. Defensively, they allow an average of 70.3 points per game. The Red Wolves posted a strong 24-10 record, going 13-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. They reached the championship game of the Sun Belt Tournament but fell to Troy with a 94-81 defeat. Arkansas State averages 79.2 points per game but has faced challenges with shooting efficiency, hitting 42.4% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range. Defensively, they have been solid, holding opponents to 70.1 points per game and limiting them to 40.2% shooting from the field. Saint Louis has struggled on the road this season, holding a 4-8 record in away games. In contrast, Arkansas State has been dominant at home, boasting a 13-2 record at the First National Bank Arena. The Billikens' offensive efficiency will be tested against the Red Wolves' strong defense, which ranks among the top 25 nationally in opponent shooting percentage. Additionally, Arkansas State's rebounding prowess, averaging 40.9 rebounds per game, could pose challenges for Saint Louis. Strong home team vs weak road team. Take Arkansas State here on Tuesday.

The Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament Championship is set for Sunday, March 16, 2025, featuring the No. 3 seed Michigan Wolverines (24-9, 14-6 Big Ten) against the No. 5 seed Wisconsin Badgers (26-8, 13-7 Big Ten). The game will tip off at 3:30 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, with television coverage on CBS.

Under first-year head coach Dusty May, Michigan has experienced a remarkable turnaround, culminating in their first Big Ten Tournament Championship appearance since 2018. The Wolverines' offense averages 78.8 points per game, shooting 47.9% from the field. Defensively, they allow 71.5 points per game, with opponents shooting 40.7% from the field. Key players include center Vladislav Goldin, averaging 16.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and forward Danny Wolf, contributing 13.0 points and leading the Big Ten with 9.9 rebounds per

Wisconsin has demonstrated resilience, particularly in the Big Ten Tournament, with victories over UCLA and top-seeded Michigan State. The Badgers' offense ranks 11th nationally, characterized by efficient shooting and low turnover rates. Defensively, they are solid, though they rank lower in blocks and steals. Senior guard John Tonje has been instrumental, averaging 29 points per game in the tournament, including a record-setting 32-point performance against Michigan State.

The teams met once during the regular season on December 3, 2024, with Michigan securing a narrow 67-64 victory in Madison. In that game, Michigan overcame a halftime deficit, outscoring Wisconsin 41-32 in the second half to clinch the win

The Big Ten Championship game between Michigan and Wisconsin promises an exciting contest, with both teams seeking their first tournament title in several years. For me I like the Badgers in this contest today and I'm going to take Wisconsin.

03-16-25 Cornell +5.5 v. Yale Top 84-90 Loss -108 1 h 24 m Show

The Ivy League Men's Basketball Championship is set for Sunday, March 16, 2025, featuring the top-seeded Yale Bulldogs (21-7, 13-1 Ivy) against the second-seeded Cornell Big Red (18-10, 9-5 Ivy). The game will tip off at 12 p.m. ET at the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, Rhode Island, with television coverage on ESPN2.

Yale has been the dominant force in the Ivy League this season, boasting a stellar 13-1 conference record. Their success is built on a foundation of strong defense and efficient offense. The Bulldogs rank 24th nationally in points scored per game (81.4) and 91st in points allowed (69.2). They also excel in field goal percentage, shooting 49.0% (11th nationally), while holding opponents to 40.1% (17th nationally). Key players include John Poulakidas, averaging 19.0 points per game, and Nick Townsend, contributing 7.3 rebounds per game.

Cornell's high-octane offense has been a highlight this season, ranking 6th nationally with an average of 85.1 points per game. Their defense, however, has been less formidable, allowing 77.1 points per game (315th nationally). The Big Red lead the nation in effective field goal percentage, thanks to their emphasis on three-point shooting and fast-paced play. Senior guard Nazir Williams leads the team with 14.7 points per game, while forward Guy Ragland Jr. averages 5.3 rebounds.

The two teams have faced each other twice this season, with Yale emerging victorious in both encounters. The most recent matchup on February 21, 2025, was a high-scoring affair, with Yale narrowly defeating Cornell 92-88. In that game, Yale's Nick Townsend recorded a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Cornell's AK Okereke had a standout performance with 30 points and seven assists.

Both teams rely heavily on the three-point shot. Cornell's strategy emphasizes high-volume three-point attempts, while Yale boasts efficient perimeter shooting. The team that finds its rhythm from beyond the arc could gain a significant advantage.

The Ivy League Championship promises an exciting matchup between Yale's balanced, disciplined approach and Cornell's high-scoring offense. For me I'm going to take the points in this game with this high scoring Cornell club.

The Tigers' offense has evolved, with senior guards Chase Hunter and Ian Schieffelin leading the team, averaging 16.2 and 12.8 points per game, respectively. Additionally, Jaeden Zackery and Viktor Lakhin have stepped up, each averaging over 11 points per game. Defensively, Clemson excels at disrupting passing lanes, allowing just over 10 assists per game. Under first-year head coach Pat Kelsey, Louisville has experienced a significant turnaround this season. The Cardinals' schedule was front-loaded, with early challenges against top teams like Duke, North Carolina, and Clemson. Since their victory over Clemson on January 7, Louisville has faced only one team ranked inside KenPom's top-60, potentially impacting their preparedness for this high-caliber matchup. The teams met earlier this season on January 7, with Louisville securing a 74-64 victory at home. In that game, J'Vonne Hadley delivered a standout performance, recording a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds. The Cardinals rely heavily on three-point attempts, with nearly 49% of their shots coming from beyond the arc. However, shooting conditions at the Spectrum Center have been challenging, with the first 11 tournament games averaging 132.8 points and poor three-point shooting percentages. Louisville's ability to adapt and find alternative scoring methods will be crucial. The Tigers have a well-rounded offense, shooting above the national average from two-point range, three-point range, and the free-throw line. Their ability to maintain this efficiency against Louisville's defense could be a determining factor. Clemson's roster ranks eighth nationally in experience, starting four seniors and one junior. This veteran presence could provide an edge in high-pressure tournament settings. Take Clemson on Friday.

03-14-25 Arizona v. Texas Tech -1.5 Top 86-80 Loss -118 9 h 20 m Show

The Arizona Wildcats and Texas Tech Red Raiders are set to clash in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. EDT. Arizona has experienced fluctuations in form recently, with five of their 11 losses occurring in the last 11 games. However, they showcased resilience by defeating Kansas 88-77 in the quarterfinals. The Wildcats average 82.0 points per game, shooting 47.1% from the field, and allow 72.1 points per game. Key players include Caleb Love, averaging 16.4 points and 3.5 assists, and Jaden Bradley, contributing 11.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.  The Red Raiders have been in strong form, winning 14 of their last 17 games. They narrowly edged out Baylor 76-74 in the quarterfinals. Texas Tech averages 81.1 points per game on 47.4% shooting and holds opponents to 66.8 points per game. Standout players include JT Toppin, with 18.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, and Chance McMillian, averaging 14.7 points and 4.2 rebounds. This season, the teams have split their meetings. Texas Tech secured a 70-54 victory in January, while Arizona responded with an 82-73 win in February. The Red Raiders' robust defense has been a cornerstone of their success, and limiting Arizona's offensive rhythm will be a priority. I'm going to be taking Texas Tech here on Friday as my Big 12 Conference Tournament Game of the  Year.

03-14-25 Boise State +1.5 v. New Mexico 72-69 Win 100 9 h 12 m Show

The Mountain West Conference Tournament semifinals will feature a matchup between the top-seeded New Mexico Lobos and the fifth-seeded Boise State Broncos on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast on CBS Sports Network. The Lobos have been a dominant force this season, securing their first outright regular-season conference title in 12 years under coach Richard Pitino. They advanced to the semifinals with a 63-52 victory over San Jose State. New Mexico boasts a potent offense, averaging 82.2 points per game, ranking 18th nationally. Defensively, they allow 71.3 points per game. Junior guard Donovan Dent has been instrumental, averaging 20.4 points and 6.5 assists per game. The Broncos have been on a strong run, winning nine of their last eleven games. They secured their semifinal spot with a 62-52 win over San Diego State, showcasing a robust defense that held the Aztecs to just 52 points. Boise State averages 76 points per game while allowing 66.3 points per game, ranking 37th nationally in defense. Forward Tyson Degenhart leads the team with 17.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The teams split their regular-season meetings, with each winning on their home court. New Mexico secured an 84-65 victory in the first matchup, while Boise State responded with an 86-78 win in the second meeting.  Pace of Play: New Mexico thrives in an up-tempo game, ranking sixth nationally in pace, averaging 73.4 possessions per game. Conversely, Boise State prefers a more controlled tempo. The team that dictates the pace may have the upper hand. Boise State attempted a program-record 40 three-pointers in their quarterfinal win. If Boise can keep this pace from getting out of hand they have a great shot at the win. Play Boise State.

03-14-25 North Carolina +7.5 v. Duke 71-74 Win 100 7 h 41 m Show

The storied rivalry between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke Blue Devils adds another chapter as they face off in the ACC Tournament semifinals on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast on ESPN. Duke has been a dominant force this season, securing the top seed in the ACC Tournament. They advanced to the semifinals with a 78-70 victory over Georgia Tech. However, the win was marred by an ankle injury to star freshman Cooper Flagg, the ACC Player of the Year, who is considered a "long shot" to play in the semifinal. In Flagg's absence, freshman Kon Knueppel stepped up significantly, scoring a career-high 28 points, including 22 in the second half, to lead the comeback against Georgia Tech.  The Tar Heels have found their stride late in the season, winning eight of their last nine games. They secured their semifinal spot with a 68-59 victory over Wake Forest. North Carolina's offense averages 81.5 points per game, led by RJ Davis, who is coming off a season-high five three-pointers against Wake Forest. Duke has won both regular-season meetings against North Carolina. The most recent encounter on March 8 resulted in an 82-69 victory for the Blue Devils at the Dean E. Smith Center. Cooper Flagg's injury could significantly affect Duke's game plan on both ends of the court. His scoring ability and defensive presence have been pivotal for the Blue Devils. Without Flagg I look for NCU to stay close in this game. I'll take the nice points though with the Tar Heels. Play North Carolina.

03-14-25 BYU +7 v. Houston 54-74 Loss -108 7 h 41 m Show

The Big 12 Tournament semifinals will feature a compelling matchup between the top-seeded Houston Cougars and the fourth-seeded BYU Cougars on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT, with the game broadcast on ESPN2. Houston has been dominant this season, winning 24 of their last 25 games. They secured their spot in the semifinals with a 77-68 victory over Colorado. However, All-Big 12 first-team forward J'Wan Roberts suffered a sprained right ankle early in the second half of that game, and his status for the semifinal is uncertain. Houston's defense has been exceptional, allowing an average of 58.1 points per game, the best in the nation. BYU enters the semifinals on a nine-game winning streak, including a 96-92 victory over Iowa State in the quarterfinals, where they set a tournament record with 18 three-pointers. During their winning streak, Richie Saunders has been instrumental, scoring at least 20 points in five of those games. In their only meeting this season, Houston defeated BYU 86-55 on January 4 at the Fertitta Center. BYU playing too well to be getting this many points here today. I look for the Cougars to be there at the end. Play BYU.

03-14-25 Texas +10.5 v. Tennessee 72-83 Loss -113 3 h 24 m Show

The Texas Longhorns and Tennessee Volunteers are set to face off in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast nationally on ESPN. Entering the tournament as the No. 13 seed, Texas has showcased resilience with consecutive victories. They defeated Vanderbilt 79-72 in the first round and secured a thrilling 94-89 double-overtime win against No. 14 Texas A&M in the second round. In the latter game, six Longhorns scored in double figures, highlighting their depth and balanced offense. Ranked No. 8 nationally and seeded fourth in the tournament, Tennessee received a double-bye to the quarterfinals. They concluded the regular season with a 75-65 victory over South Carolina, marking their fourth win in the last five games. The Volunteers are led by the dynamic backcourt duo of Zakai Zeigler, averaging 13.1 points and 7.5 assists per game, and Chaz Lanier, contributing 17.9 points per game with a 40.5% three-point shooting accuracy. The teams met earlier this season on January 11 in Austin, where Tennessee edged out a 74-70 victory. Despite the loss, Texas managed to cover the 4.5-point spread in that matchup. Texas is a big dog here on Friday and I expect them to stay close as they did in their first encounter. Play Texas.

03-14-25 Wisconsin v. UCLA +2 86-70 Loss -105 2 h 20 m Show

The Wisconsin Badgers and UCLA Bruins are set to face off in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET, with the game broadcast on the Big Ten Network. The Badgers advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Northwestern 70-63. In that game, Nolan Winter and John Tonje each contributed 18 points. Wisconsin has experienced mixed results recently, going 3-3 in their last six games, including a home loss to Penn State. The Bruins have won 11 of their last 14 games, including a dominant 90-63 victory over USC in their regular-season finale, where Eric Dailey Jr. led with 25 points. UCLA boasts the nation's 21st-ranked scoring defense, allowing an average of 63.2 points per game. These teams met earlier this season on January 21, with UCLA narrowly defeating Wisconsin 85-83. In that game, Wisconsin covered the 4.5-point spread, and the total went over 141.5 points. This one should be a good, even matched contest. I will take UCLA though to prevail once again. Play UCLA.

03-14-25 Oregon +6.5 v. Michigan State 64-74 Loss -110 9 h 15 m Show

The Michigan State Spartans (26-5, 17-3 Big Ten) will face the Oregon Ducks (24-8, 12-8 Big Ten) in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Spartans clinched the Big Ten regular-season title and are currently on a seven-game winning streak. The Ducks have been on an impressive run, winning eight consecutive games, including a 72-59 victory over Indiana in the tournament's second round. On February 8, 2025, Michigan State defeated Oregon 86-74 at the Breslin Center. Michigan State: Jaden Akins: Averaging 12.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Oregon: Nate Bittle: Leading with 13.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Michigan State: Averages 78.4 points per game. Oregon: Averages 76.6 points per game. Defense: Michigan State: Allows 67.0 points per game. Oregon: Allows 70.8 points per game. Both teams enter the matchup on winning streaks, showcasing strong defensive capabilities. I look for a close contest here on Friday with Oregon standing a very good chance of a straight-up win. I'll take teh points with Oregon in this matchup.

03-13-25 North Carolina -5.5 v. Wake Forest Top 68-59 Win 100 3 h 58 m Show

The North Carolina Tar Heels (21-12, 12-8 ACC) are set to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (21-10, 13-7 ACC) in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, with tip-off scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels have found their stride recently, winning seven of their last eight games. Their offense has been particularly potent, averaging 82.2 points per game over the last ten contests. A significant factor in their success has been improved three-point shooting, rising from 40th nationally to second over the past two months. The Demon Deacons started strong but have faced challenges lately, losing six of their last twelve games. They secured the No. 4 seed in the ACC Tournament after concluding the regular season at 21-10 overall and 13-7 in conference play. Hunter Sallis leads Wake Forest, averaging 18 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. The teams last met on January 21, 2025, with Wake Forest edging out a narrow 67-66 victory over North Carolina. North Carolina has emphasized offensive rebounding in their recent games, improving their offensive rebounding percentage significantly. This could be a decisive factor, especially considering Wake Forest's struggles with defensive rebounding, where they rank 317th nationally. Both teams are on the NCAA Tournament bubble, making this game crucial for their postseason aspirations. A victory would significantly enhance their chances of securing a tournament berth.  The Heels have been the hot team here and I like that as they come into this tournament. Take North Carolina.

03-13-25 Ohio -2.5 v. Toledo 85-90 Loss -108 2 h 49 m Show

The Ohio Bobcats (16-15, 10-8 MAC) are set to face the Toledo Rockets (17-14, 10-8 MAC) in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Bobcats have experienced a season of mixed results, currently holding a 16-15 overall record and a 10-8 mark in conference play. They average 79.6 points per game, shooting 47.0% from the field and 35.8% from beyond the arc. Defensively, Ohio allows 76.1 points per game, with opponents shooting 45.8% against them. The Rockets enter the tournament with a 17-14 overall record and an identical 10-8 conference record. Offensively, they average 78.2 points per game, shooting 46.5% from the field and 33.7% from three-point range. Defensively, Toledo has struggled, allowing 79.4 points per game, with opponents shooting 48.5% from the field. These teams recently faced each other on March 7, 2025, with Toledo securing a 96-82 home victory. In that game, the Rockets shot an impressive 59.7% from the field and outrebounded the Bobcats 31-27. Ohio: AJ Clayton leads the Bobcats with 14.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Toledo: Sam Lewis is the Rockets' top scorer, averaging 15.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. My numbers point to Ohio winning and covering this contest. Take Ohio U.

03-12-25 CS Bakersfield v. UC-Santa Barbara -5 66-71 Push 0 9 h 29 m Show

The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners (14-18, 8-12 Big West) are set to face the UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) Gauchos (19-12, 11-9 Big West) in the first round of the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The game will tip off at 9:00 p.m. EDT at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nevada. Cal State Bakersfield secured the eighth seed in the tournament after winning four of their last six games, including a 76-64 victory over Hawaii in their regular-season finale. The Roadrunners have averaged 74.0 points per game this season while allowing 73.7 points per game. UCSB enters the tournament as the fifth seed, aiming to achieve a 20-win season. The Gauchos have been efficient offensively, averaging 75.1 points per game and shooting 47.4% from the field, including a notable 39.4% from three-point range, ranking sixth nationally. Defensively, they have held opponents to 68.8 points per game. UCSB has dominated the recent head-to-head matchups, winning the last 11 encounters against Cal State Bakersfield. This season, the Gauchos secured two victories over the Roadrunners: a 78-66 win at home on January 10 and an 81-75 victory on the road on February 7. Cal State Bakersfield's defense has been a concern, allowing opponents to shoot 45.7% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range. This vulnerability could be exploited by UCSB, given their proficiency in shooting, particularly from beyond the arc. Additionally, the Roadrunners have struggled with discipline, sending opponents to the free-throw line frequently, which could be detrimental in a closely contested game. Take Cal Santa Barbara here on Wednesday.

03-12-25 Rider +9 v. Quinnipiac 64-78 Loss -105 6 h 29 m Show

The Quinnipiac Bobcats (19-12, 15-5 MAAC) are set to face the Rider Broncs (14-18, 10-11 MAAC) in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The game will tip off at 6:00 p.m. EDT at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Quinnipiac finished the regular season with a strong 15-5 conference record, securing a favorable seed in the MAAC Tournament. The Bobcats have been efficient offensively, averaging 73.8 points per game, and defensively, allowing 71.6 points per game. Rider concluded the regular season with a 10-11 conference record, positioning them as a lower seed in the tournament. The Broncs have shown resilience, particularly in recent games, and aim to capitalize on their momentum entering the postseason. The teams have met twice this season, with Quinnipiac emerging victorious in both encounters. On December 6, the Bobcats secured a 72-67 win on the road, and on January 25, they defended their home court with a 75-64 victory. I'll take the nice points here on Wednesday with Rider.

03-12-25 Texas v. Vanderbilt -2.5 Top 79-72 Loss -108 4 h 20 m Show

The Texas Longhorns (17-14, 6-12 SEC) are set to face the Vanderbilt Commodores (20-11, 8-10 SEC) in the first round of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The game will tip off at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be broadcast on the SEC Network. Texas has experienced a challenging inaugural season in the SEC, finishing with a 6-12 conference record. The Longhorns have struggled recently, losing seven of their last nine games, including a 76-72 defeat to Oklahoma in their regular-season finale. Despite these setbacks, Texas boasts five Quad 1 victories and aims to bolster its NCAA Tournament resume with a strong performance in the SEC Tournament. Vanderbilt concluded the regular season with a 20-11 overall record and an 8-10 mark in SEC play. The Commodores have been competitive throughout the season and are considered by some analysts to be on the fringe of the NCAA Tournament conversation. However, they enter the tournament on a two-game losing streak, having fallen to Georgia and Arkansas in their final regular-season games. The two teams met earlier this season on February 8, with Vanderbilt securing an 86-78 victory at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville. In that contest, the Commodores overcame a 10-point second-half deficit, largely due to their dominance on the offensive glass, securing 17 offensive rebounds. Both teams shot around 42% from the field, combining for 164 points despite the modest shooting percentages. Offensively, both teams have been productive, with Texas averaging 78.1 points per game and Vanderbilt 79.9 points per game. The Longhorns' reliance on mid-range shots and isolation plays, primarily through Johnson, has been a double-edged sword, leading to both high-scoring games and inconsistent offensive performances. I like Vandy in this matchup for Wednesday.

03-12-25 South Carolina v. Arkansas -4.5 68-72 Loss -108 2 h 7 m Show

The South Carolina Gamecocks (12-19, 2-16 SEC) are set to face the Arkansas Razorbacks (19-12, 8-10 SEC) in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The game will tip off at 1 p.m. ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.

South Carolina has endured a challenging season, securing only two conference victories, one of which was a notable 72-53 win over Arkansas on March 1. In that game, sophomore forward Collin Murray-Boyles delivered a standout performance, scoring a career-high 35 points. Despite this highlight, the Gamecocks have struggled overall, ranking last in the SEC in several offensive metrics, including effective field goal percentage (46.1%) and turnover rate (19.8%).

Arkansas, under the guidance of Coach John Calipari, has experienced an up-and-down season. The Razorbacks are currently on the NCAA Tournament bubble, making their performance in the SEC Tournament crucial. They have shown resilience, winning four of their last five games, with the sole loss being the aforementioned defeat to South Carolina. Notably, Arkansas has been effective defensively, ranking 17th nationally in adjusted defense according to KenPom.

The previous encounter between these teams saw Arkansas struggle offensively, shooting just 29% from the field and 3-for-22 from three-point range.

Lots more at stake for Arkansas here tonight. Plus they have revenge from that earlier loss to the Gamecocks. I'll take Arkansas.

03-11-25 Florida International v. Western Kentucky -4.5 64-61 Loss -115 9 h 2 m Show

The Florida International University (FIU) Panthers (9-22, 3-15 C-USA) are set to face the Western Kentucky University (WKU) Hilltoppers (17-14, 8-10 C-USA) in the first round of the Conference USA (C-USA) Men's Basketball Tournament. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. CT (6:00 p.m. PT) at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama. The Panthers have struggled this season, finishing at the bottom of the conference standings for the second consecutive year. They enter the tournament on a three-game losing streak, with their most recent defeat being a 78-56 loss to Middle Tennessee. Offensively, FIU averages 69.8 points per game on 43.0% shooting from the field and 28.7% from three-point range. Defensively, they allow 72.7 points per game, with opponents shooting 45.4% overall and 34.3% from beyond the arc. The Hilltoppers have had an up-and-down season, finishing seventh in the conference. They split their final two regular-season games, defeating FIU 76-67 before falling to Liberty 90-61. WKU averages 75.3 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field and 33.5% from three-point range. Defensively, they concede 75.1 points per game, with opponents shooting 40.9% overall and 30.8% from deep. The teams split their regular-season meetings: January 4, 2025: FIU won at home, 85-66. March 6, 2025: WKU won at home, 76-67. WKU's offense, led by Don McHenry, has been more consistent this season compared to FIU. The Hilltoppers' defensive metrics also suggest they can limit FIU's scoring opportunities. Western Kentucky will win and move on here today. Play W.Kentucky.

03-11-25 Gonzaga v. St. Mary's +3.5 Top 58-51 Loss -108 9 h 3 m Show

The Gonzaga Bulldogs (24-8, 14-4 WCC) are set to face the Saint Mary's Gaels (28-4, 17-1 WCC) in the West Coast Conference (WCC) Championship game on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The matchup will take place at Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, with tip-off scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT).  The Bulldogs, under head coach Mark Few, finished second in the WCC regular season standings. They advanced to the championship game after defeating San Francisco 85-76 in the semifinals.  Led by head coach Randy Bennett, the Gaels secured the top seed in the WCC with a stellar conference record. They reached the championship by overcoming Pepperdine with a decisive 74-59 victory in the semifinals.  Gonzaga Bulldogs are led by Ryan Nembhard. The sophomore guard has been instrumental in Gonzaga's offense, showcasing exceptional playmaking abilities throughout the season.  Saint Mary's Gaels is led by Augustas Marciulionis. The two-time WCC Player of the Year leads the Gaels with consistent scoring and leadership on the court. Saint Mary's has had the upper hand this season, winning both regular-season encounters against Gonzaga: January 18, 2025: Saint Mary's 62, Gonzaga 58 (at Saint Mary's). February 15, 2025: Saint Mary's 74, Gonzaga 67 (at Gonzaga). Saint Mary's methodical style and strong defense have been effective against Gonzaga's high-paced offense this season. The Gaels lead the nation in rebounding percentage (57.4%) and excel at controlling the game's tempo. Both teams will make the NCAA tourney, but St Mary's will take the conference tourney tonight. Play St Mary's.

03-11-25 Fairfield v. Sacred Heart -5 58-71 Win 100 9 h 32 m Show

The Fairfield University Stags (12-19, 8-12 MAAC) are set to face the Sacred Heart University Pioneers (14-17, 10-10 MAAC) in the first round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Basketball Tournament. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. ET at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Stags secured their tournament berth with a crucial 83-74 victory over Quinnipiac in their regular-season finale. Junior guard Prophet Johnson delivered a standout performance, recording a career-high 35 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson has been pivotal for Fairfield, averaging 13.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season. The Pioneers finished the regular season with a balanced conference record of 10-10. They are led by Tanner Thomas, who averages 14.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Sacred Heart's offense is notable for its pace and three-point shooting, attempting an average of 27.5 three-pointers per game, ranking 38th nationally. Sacred Heart won both regular-season meetings against Fairfield: January 15, 2025: Sacred Heart 77, Fairfield 71 (at Fairfield). February 20, 2025: Sacred Heart 83, Fairfield 62 (at Sacred Heart). Sacred Heart's up-tempo offense and reliance on three-point shooting will be a problem for Fairfield here today. Take Sacred Heart to cover this contest.

03-11-25 Cincinnati v. Oklahoma State +7 87-68 Loss -108 1 h 18 m Show

The Cincinnati Bearcats (17-14, 7-13 Big 12) will face the Oklahoma State Cowboys (15-16, 7-13 Big 12) in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. CST (9:30 a.m. PST) at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This matchup comes just days after Oklahoma State secured a 78-67 victory over Cincinnati on March 8. In that game, Cowboys' forward Abou Ousmane led all scorers with 24 points. The Bearcats concluded the regular season with three consecutive losses. They average 70.5 points per game while allowing 65.3 points. Key players include guard Jizzle James, who leads the team with 12.9 points and 3.7 assists per game, and forward Dillon Mitchell, contributing 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. The Cowboys have struggled with consistency, failing to secure back-to-back wins since late December. They average 72.7 points per game but allow 76.2 points. Forward Abou Ousmane leads the team with 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while guard Bryce Thompson adds 12.4 points and 4.3 assists per game. This first-round Big 12 Tournament matchup presents an opportunity for both teams to extend their seasons. Cincinnati will aim to adjust their game plan to counter Oklahoma State's interior strength. The Cowboys have already demonstrated they can beat Cincinnati and I look for that to continue here today. I'll take the points with Oklahoma State.

03-10-25 Idaho v. Portland State -4 80-70 Loss -110 10 h 5 m Show

The Idaho Vandals and the Portland State Vikings are set to clash on Monday, March 10, 2025, in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho, and will be broadcast on ESPN+. Portland State Vikings (No. 3 seed): The Vikings concluded the regular season with a 19-12 overall record and an 11-7 mark in Big Sky play, securing the third seed in the tournament. They have been particularly strong defensively, leading the conference in several categories, including fewest points allowed (65.8 per game), field goal percentage defense (.419), three-point percentage defense (.274), steals (7.4 per game), and blocked shots (4.4 per game). Idaho Vandals (No. 6 seed): The Vandals finished the season with a 13-18 overall record and an 8-10 conference record, earning them the sixth seed. Offensively, they average 74.0 points per game and are known for their proficiency beyond the arc, leading the Big Sky with an average of 9.3 three-pointers made per game. Portland State averages 75.7 points per game and allows 69.3 points per game. Idaho allows 75.6 points per game, shoots 44.2% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range. They lead the Big Sky in three-point field goals made per game (9.3). Portland State's defense should be the difference here in this game. They will be able to limit the 3-point shooting of Idaho and thus win and cover this contest. Play Portland State.

03-09-25 St. Thomas -3.5 v. Nebraska-Omaha 75-85 Loss -110 9 h 6 m Show

The Summit League Men's Basketball Championship on Sunday, March 9, 2025, features the top-seeded Omaha Mavericks facing the second-seeded St. Thomas Tommies at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Omaha Mavericks (21-12, 13-3 Summit League): Omaha clinched the regular-season title and secured their first NCAA Tournament berth due to St. Thomas's ineligibility during their Division I transition. The Mavericks boast a strong offense, averaging 85.5 points per game, ranking third nationally.

St. Thomas Tommies (23-9, 12-4 Summit League): Despite being ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, the Tommies have demonstrated exceptional form, aiming for their first Summit League Championship. They possess an efficient offense, ranking 56th in adjusted offensive efficiency and third in effective field goal percentage nationally.

The teams split their regular-season meetings, with each winning on their home court by 11 points.

While Omaha has secured its NCAA Tournament spot, St. Thomas seeks to cap its season with a conference title. The Tommies' efficient offense may exploit Omaha's defensive vulnerabilities, setting the stage for a compelling championship game.

I am taking St Thomas here today as this is their tournament games since they can't go any further. Play St Thomas

03-09-25 Michigan v. Michigan State -8 62-79 Win 100 1 h 29 m Show

The Michigan Wolverines (22-8, 14-5 Big Ten) are set to face the Michigan State Spartans (25-5, 16-3 Big Ten) on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Michigan State has clinched the Big Ten regular-season title, boasting a six-game winning streak, including a recent 91-84 victory over Iowa. Their defense has been particularly strong, holding opponents under 70 points in four of their last five games. Michigan, on the other hand, has faced challenges recently, losing three of their last four games. Their struggles include a 65-71 loss to Maryland and a 73-93 defeat against Illinois. The Wolverines are aiming to secure the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten tournament with a win in this matchup. Michigan State: Freshman guard Jase Richardson has been instrumental in the Spartans' recent success, delivering high offensive ratings in his last four games. Jaden Akins has also improved his shooting performance, contributing significantly from the perimeter. Michigan: Center Vladislav Goldin leads the team with an average of 16.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. However, the Wolverines have struggled with consistency, particularly in their shooting and turnovers. The Spartans have been strong against the spread, covering in their last six games, while the Wolverines have struggled, going 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games. Michigan's struggles at covering spreads won't get any easier here on Sunday. I'll take Michigan State minus the points.

The Utes have struggled on the road, with a combined 1-10 record in road and neutral site games. Gabe Madsen is the leading scorer  for Utah with 23 points in the recent game against West Virginia. BYU is led by Richie Saunders who scored 23 points in the double-overtime win against Iowa State.

In their earlier matchup on January 18, 2025, Utah edged out BYU in a 73-72 overtime victory at the Huntsman Center. The Utes have won the last two games in the series, including a win over then-No. 13 BYU last season. BYU is having a great run at the right time and I look for them to dominate in their instate rivals and avenge their previous loss this season. Play BYU.

03-08-25 Ohio State v. Indiana -2.5 60-66 Win 100 5 h 34 m Show

The Indiana Hoosiers (18-12, 9-10 Big Ten) will host the Ohio State Buckeyes (17-13, 9-10 Big Ten) on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana. Both teams are on the NCAA Tournament bubble, making this matchup crucial for their postseason aspirations. The winner secures the No. 9 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and a first-round bye, while the loser falls to the No. 10 seed and must play on the tournament's opening day. Indiana has won four of its last five games, positioning itself as a projected No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Hoosiers' recent surge includes victories over Penn State and Washington, though they are coming off a loss to Oregon. Ohio State has experienced defensive struggles lately, allowing opponents to shoot 55.2% from the field over the past two and a half games. However, they are coming off a double-overtime win over Nebraska, which could provide momentum heading into this contest. Indiana is led by Oumar Ballo who is averaging 13.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, Ballo provides a strong presence in the paint.  Ohio State is led by Bruce Thornton, leading the Buckeyes with 17.8 points per game on 43.2% shooting from three-point range, Thornton is also dishing out 4.5 assists per game.  In their earlier matchup on January 17, 2025, Indiana edged out Ohio State 77-76 in overtime. The Hoosiers led by 10 points with five minutes left in regulation, but a late surge by the Buckeyes forced overtime. This game has significant implications for both teams' NCAA Tournament hopes. A win would bolster their résumés and provide momentum heading into the Big Ten Tournament. Conversely, a loss would place added pressure to perform well in the conference tournament to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament. I'm taking Indiana here on Saturday in this matchup.

Oklahoma State's season has been marked by inconsistency, with a 6-13 record in Big 12 play. Ok State has home court here today and they are a small home dog too. I'll take the Cowboys to win this game.

Winthrop and Longwood faced each other twice during the regular season, with Winthrop winning both encounters. The most recent matchup on February 27 resulted in a decisive 85-59 victory for the Eagles at Longwood's home court. The Wichita State Shockers (17-11, 7-8 AAC) are set to face the North Texas Mean Green (21-6, 12-3 AAC) on Monday, March 3, 2025 at The Super Pit in Denton, Texas on ESPN2. After a challenging start to their conference play with a 1-7 record, the Shockers have turned their season around by winning six of their last seven games. This resurgence includes a notable overtime victory against nationally ranked Memphis on February 16. A key factor in their recent success has been their dominance on the boards, averaging a +12.0 rebounding margin over the last seven games. Individually, guard Xavier Bell has been instrumental, earning the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors on February 24 after averaging 23.5 points per game and shooting 92.9% from the free-throw line during that span. Forward Corey Washington has also been pivotal, recording his eighth double-double of the season with a 24-point, 11-rebound performance against UAB. The Mean Green have been a model of consistency this season, boasting a 21-6 overall record and a 12-3 mark in conference play. They currently hold a five-game winning streak and have secured a top-four seed in the upcoming AAC Tournament, ensuring a double-bye. Their defense has been particularly impressive, allowing just 58.9 points per game, which ranks second nationally. Offensively, guard Atin Wright leads the team with 13.6 points per game and is the nation's leader in free throw percentage at 95.0%. Forward Brenen Lorient contributes 12.1 points per game, while center Moulaye Sissoko adds 7.9 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. The two teams last met on January 29 in Wichita, where North Texas edged out a 58-54 victory. This loss marked the end of a rough January for the Shockers but also served as a turning point leading to their recent surge. I like Wichita State here plus the points as their recent form has them playing well with momentum. Play Wichita State.

03-02-25 Memphis v. UAB  +1.5 88-81 Loss -110 5 h 15 m Show

The Memphis Tigers, ranked 18th nationally, are set to face the UAB Blazers on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. This pivotal matchup carries significant implications for the American Athletic Conference (AAC) standings, with Memphis currently holding a one-game lead over UAB. Memphis enters the game with a 23-5 overall record and a 13-2 mark in AAC play. The Tigers have been in strong form, winning 10 of their last 11 games, positioning themselves at the top of the conference standings. UAB boasts a 19-9 overall record and a 12-3 conference record, including an impressive nine-game home winning streak. Memphis has been propelled by the dynamic duo of guard PJ Haggerty and forward Dain Dainja. Over the past nine games, they've combined to average 36.9 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Dainja is coming off a standout performance against Rice, where he recorded a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds.  UAB's offense is spearheaded by forward Yaxel Lendeborg, whose versatility and defensive prowess make him a formidable presence. Guard Efrem "Butta" Johnson and Alejandro Vazquez provide additional scoring threats, contributing to the Blazers' balanced attack. In their prior encounter on January 26, Memphis dominated with a 100-77 victory at home. However, playing at Bartow Arena presents a different challenge, especially considering UAB's current home winning streak.  Should be a great game, but I like UAB om their home court with their very good offense. I'll take UAB.

03-01-25 Gonzaga v. San Francisco +9 95-75 Loss -105 18 h 25 m Show

The University of San Francisco Dons are set to host the Gonzaga Bulldogs in a pivotal West Coast Conference (WCC) matchup on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Chase Center in San Francisco. San Francisco Dons (23-7, 13-4 WCC) under the leadership of head coach Chris Gerlufsen, the Dons have secured seven victories in their last eight games, including a narrow 74-72 win over Oregon State on Wednesday. This strong performance positions them in a tie for second place in the WCC standings. A win against Gonzaga would not only break a 31-game losing streak against the Bulldogs but also secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming WCC tournament, granting them a bye into the semifinals. Gonzaga Bulldogs (22-8, 13-4 WCC): Despite an uncharacteristic season that saw them eliminated from WCC title contention, the Bulldogs remain a formidable opponent. They recently showcased their offensive prowess with a 95-76 victory over Santa Clara, where forward Graham Ike contributed 24 points. Gonzaga leads the nation in several statistical categories, including points per game (87.4) and field goal percentage (50.2%). To secure a victory, the Dons must focus on defensive strategies to limit Gonzaga's high-scoring offense. Controlling the tempo and capitalizing on their home-court advantage at Chase Center will be essential. While I don't see Gonzaga losing this game, I do like the nice points at home with San Fran. I'll take The Dons here tonight.

03-01-25 Miami-OH v. Ohio -5.5 66-75 Win 100 8 h 23 m Show

The "Battle of the Bricks" rivalry between the Ohio University Bobcats and the Miami University RedHawks is set to renew on Saturday, March 1, 2025 in Athens, Ohio. This matchup carries significant implications for both teams as they jostle for positioning in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) standings. Ohio Bobcats (15-13, 9-6 MAC): Currently holding the fifth spot in the MAC, the Bobcats have experienced a season of highs and lows. A notable victory against Akron on February 22, which snapped the Zips' 14-game winning streak, highlighted their potential. However, consistency has been an issue, as evidenced by a subsequent 82-73 loss to Western Michigan on February 25. Miami RedHawks (20-8, 12-3 MAC): The RedHawks have enjoyed a standout season, comfortably sitting in second place in the MAC. Their offense is particularly potent, averaging 81.6 points per game, the second-highest in the conference. This offensive strength is complemented by a robust defense that leads the MAC in steals per game (8.3). The Bobcats have shown resilience with a 4-2 record in their last six MAC games. Their victory over Akron was a highlight, but the subsequent loss to Western Michigan indicates areas needing improvement, particularly in rebounding and defensive consistency. The RedHawks have been in impressive form, with a commanding 87-58 win over Northern Illinois in their latest outing. Their offense has been firing on all cylinders, and their defense has been equally formidable, forcing turnovers and controlling the tempo of games. This game marks the 216th meeting between the two programs, with Ohio leading the all-time series 119-96. In their previous encounter on February 1, 2025, Miami edged out a 73-69 victory in Oxford. Ohio has home court here on Saturday as they narrowly lost in Miami back on Feb 1st. I'm taking the Ohio Bobcats here on Saturdy.

03-01-25 Auburn v. Kentucky +5.5 94-78 Loss -115 8 h 23 m Show

The upcoming showdown between the No. 1 Auburn Tigers and the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats at Rupp Arena promises to be a marquee matchup in college basketball. Scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. ET, this game carries significant implications for both teams as they approach postseason play. Auburn Tigers (26-2, 14-1 SEC): Under the guidance of head coach Bruce Pearl, the Tigers have showcased exceptional performance this season. A victory in this game would secure them at least a share of the SEC regular-season title. Auburn's offense is notably efficient, with six players averaging double figures in points. Their defense is equally formidable, leading the SEC in three-point defense. Kentucky Wildcats (19-9, 8-7 SEC): First-year head coach Mark Pope has navigated the Wildcats through a season marked by injuries and challenges. Despite these setbacks, Kentucky has secured nine Quad 1 wins, tying them for the third-most in the nation. Historically, the Wildcats have dominated Auburn at home, maintaining an undefeated record at Rupp Arena against the Tigers since 1988. The Wildcats need to exploit Auburn's tendency to commit fouls, as the Tigers have a high foul rate. Kentucky's recent proficiency at the free-throw line (77.9% over the last seven games) could be a decisive factor. Should be a great matchup here on Saturday. I'm taking the points with Kentucky.

02-27-25 Robert Morris -6.5 v. IU Indianapolis 82-68 Win 100 17 h 31 m Show

The Robert Morris Colonials are set to face the IU Indianapolis Jaguars on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at The Jungle in Indianapolis. This Horizon League matchup features the conference-leading Colonials against the Jaguars, who are aiming to improve their standing as the regular season concludes. With a 22-8 overall record and a 14-5 mark in Horizon League play, the Colonials are on a six-game winning streak. Their recent 72-59 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers showcased their defensive strength and rebounding prowess. The Jaguars stand at 9-20 overall and 5-13 in conference play. Despite recent challenges, they have demonstrated resilience, narrowly falling 71-67 to Northern Kentucky in their last outing. Robert Morris is led by Kam Woods (Guard) averaging 14.4 points and 5.2 assists per game, Woods is pivotal in orchestrating the Colonials' offense. Alvaro Folgueiras (Forward): Contributing 14.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, Folgueiras is a dominant force in the paint. Indianapolis is led by Sean Craig (Forward) who is leading the team with 22 points and seven rebounds in the recent game against Northern Kentucky, Craig is a key offensive contributor. Paul Zilinskas (Guard): Averaging 17.9 points per game, Zilinskas provides consistent scoring and playmaking abilities. In their last meeting on January 30, 2025, Robert Morris dominated IU Indianapolis with a decisive 106-53 victory. The Colonials' balanced scoring and defensive intensity were evident throughout the game.  Robert Morris aims to secure a share of the regular-season title with a win, while IU Indianapolis seeks to end their season on a high note and potentially improve their seeding for the upcoming Horizon League Tournament. The Colonials are just too good a team and I fully expect another dominating performance here on Thursday. Play Robert Morris.

The Utah State Aggies (24-4, 14-3 Mountain West) are set to face the Boise State Broncos (19-8, 11-5 Mountain West) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho. Degenhart is the team's leading scorer, averaging 18.2 points per game. Boise State scores 76.1 points per game and allows 66.3 points per game, ranking 38th nationally in defense. They are currently No. 45 in the NCAA NET Rankings.  In their first encounter this season, Utah State narrowly defeated Boise State 81-79 at home. The game was decided by a four-point play from Ian Martinez with seven seconds remaining. Utah State's high-powered offense will be tested against Boise State's stout defense. My own numbers have this game even and as such the points look pretty good to me. I'll take Utah State plus the points.

02-26-25 Texas v. Arkansas -4 Top 81-86 Win 100 20 h 44 m Show

The Arkansas Razorbacks (16-11, 5-9 SEC) are set to host the Texas Longhorns (16-11, 5-9 SEC) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This matchup is crucial for both teams as they aim to strengthen their NCAA Tournament prospects, with each currently positioned on the tournament bubble. Earlier this month, Arkansas secured a 78-70 victory over Texas in Austin. The Razorbacks built a substantial lead, extending to 23 points in the second half, before withstanding a late Longhorns rally. Guard Johnell Davis led Arkansas with 24 points in that contest. The Razorbacks are coming off a significant 92-85 win over No. 16 Missouri, showcasing their offensive capabilities. Johnell Davis (G): Averaging 15.0 points per game over the last eight games, Davis has been pivotal in Arkansas's recent performances. Adou Thiero (G): Leading the team with 15.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Arkansas averages 76.1 points per game and allows 69.4 points per game. The Longhorns have faced challenges recently, losing four of their last five games, including a surprising 84-69 defeat to South Carolina. Tre Johnson (G): Leading the SEC with 20.2 points per game, Johnson has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 28.3 points over the last three games. Texas averages 78.3 points per game and allows 69.8 points per game. Both teams share identical overall and conference records, intensifying the stakes of this contest. Arkansas's home-court advantage at Bud Walton Arena, combined with their recent victory over a ranked opponent looks to be the difference. I'll take the home team here tonight with Arkansas.

02-26-25 Michigan State +4 v. Maryland 58-55 Win 100 17 h 14 m Show

The No. 8 Michigan State Spartans (22-5, 13-3 Big Ten) are set to face the No. 16 Maryland Terrapins (21-6, 11-5 Big Ten) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Maryland. This pivotal Big Ten matchup features two teams on impressive winning streaks: the Spartans have secured three consecutive victories, while the Terrapins have won six straight games. Jase Richardson (G): Contributes 10.8 points per game. The Spartans average 79.0 points per game while allowing 67.2 points per game. Ja'Kobi Gillespie (G): Adds 14.9 points and 4.8 assists per game. Julian Reese (F): Contributes 14.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Maryland does have some injury issues. Jahari Long (G): Questionable due to a knee injury. Chance Stephens (G): Questionable with an undisclosed injury. Braden Pierce (C): Out for the season with an eye injury. Maryland's starting lineup, known as the "Crab Five," has been instrumental in their recent success, with all five starters averaging double-digit points and contributing significantly to the team's offensive output. In contrast, Michigan State relies on a deeper rotation, with multiple players contributing across the board. The Spartans' depth could be advantageous, especially if the game pace intensifies. This contest is crucial for both teams as they vie for top positions in the Big Ten standings and aim to enhance their NCAA tournament seeding. With some injury concerns the Terps might be limited here tonight without a deep bench. I'll take the points with Michigan State.

02-25-25 South Carolina v. Missouri -12.5 71-101 Win 100 10 h 53 m Show

The South Carolina Gamecocks (11-16, 1-13 SEC) are set to face the No. 14 Missouri Tigers (20-7, 9-5 SEC) tonight at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. The Gamecocks recently snapped a 13-game SEC losing streak with an 84-69 victory over Texas, while the Tigers aim to rebound from a 92-85 loss to Arkansas. Averaging 70.1 points per game, the Gamecocks have struggled offensively, ranking 284th nationally. They shoot 43.2% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc. Sophomore forward Collin Murray-Boyles leads the team with 15.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. In their recent win against Texas, Murray-Boyles recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds. Allowing 70.9 points per game, South Carolina's defense ranks 146th nationally. The Tigers boast a potent offense, ranking ninth nationally with 83.7 points per game. They have a 48.3% field goal percentage and are particularly strong at home, holding a 17-1 record at Mizzou Arena. Key contributors include Mark Mitchell, averaging 13.7 points per game, and Caleb Grill, shooting 43.3% from three-point range. Missouri allows 70.9 points per game, similar to South Carolina. They have a scoring differential of +12.8 points per game, indicating a balanced approach on both ends of the floor. South Carolina: Collin Murray-Boyles continues to be a focal point, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. His performance will be crucial in challenging Missouri's defense. Mark Mitchell and Caleb Grill are pivotal to the Tigers' offensive success. Mitchell's scoring ability and Grill's proficiency from beyond the arc make them players to watch. Missouri has been almost unbeatable at home this year and they are one of the highest scoring teams in the nation. They should have little issue covering a big number like this. Play Missouri.
