05-19-22 | Lightning +155 v. Panthers | 2-1 | Win | 155 | 7 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S BOLTS/PANTHERS GAME TWO POWER PLAY winner is on the Tampa Bay Lightning We used the Lightning in Game One and came away with a nice dog winner. Right back with the same rationale as Game One. Tampa Bay basically did all it's heavy lifting in the first round versus Toronto. Coming back from 3-2 down and on the road removed any doubt that this team is dialed into to ThreePeat. They have the players to do it and have seemingly flipped the switch. Even down 0-1 in Game One, there was never a point that Tampa Bay would not win. Lightning 4-2. |
05-17-22 | Lightning +147 v. Panthers | 4-1 | Win | 147 | 8 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S LIGHTNING/PANTHERS NHL GAME ONE SUPER PLAY The Panthers were life and death to beat the Caps in Round one and both their home ice and goaltending failed them. Tampa Bay was dead to rights after five games versus Toronto but managed to survive two eliminators to move on. IMO, most of the heavy lifting is over and the Bolts can really settle in here and and make a big run at their Three-Peat. Tampa Bay 5-3. |
05-14-22 | Lightning v. Maple Leafs -123 | 2-1 | Loss | -123 | 15 h 27 m | Show
DMACK'S BOLTS/LEAFS NHL GAME SEVEN SUPER PLAY winner is the Toronto Maple Leafs This has been a great series and Game Seven figures to to be the same. This is a benchmark game for Toronto who has not won a Stanley Cup since 1967 and has suffered from many inexplicable playoff failures with some pretty good teams. The offense has had no trouble solving Tampa goalie Vasilevskiy but has been hurt by poorly timed lapses on defense. This is the year that Toronto breaks through and look to the snipers, Auston Mathews and John Tavares, to get them through. Toronto 6-3. |
05-12-22 | Wild v. Blues -108 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S MINNESOTA/ST LOUIS GAME SIX winner is on the St Louis Blues Minnesota made a bold move by playing Marc-Andre Fleury over All-Star Cam Talbot who went 13-0-3 down the stretch. Fleury has had his moments but through five games had allowed the second most goals through five games of any goalie in the playoffs. St Louis on the other hand has blown the dust off veteran Jordan Binnington who has saved the Blues bacon between the pipes and put St Louis in the driver's seat 3-2 with a close out shot tonight on home ice. Taking the homestanding Blues who have been outstanding on home ice all year. Looking for the best of St Louis tonight to seal the deal and advance to the Western Conference Final Four. |
05-07-22 | Rangers -110 v. Penguins | 4-7 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 33 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL PLAY OF THE DAY is on the NY Rangers The Rangers responded with a 5-2 win in Game Two after losing Game One 4-3 in 3X OT with Shesterkin making 79 saves. Pens don't have to goaltending to go head-to-head with the Broadway Blues and even at the igloo, having No.31 between the pipes will be the difference maker. NYR 4-2. |
05-06-22 | Wild v. Blues -109 | 5-1 | Loss | -109 | 17 h 45 m | Show
DMack's Friday NHL Play of the Day winner is on the St Louis Blues The Blues got their split by winning 4-0 at Minnesota in Game One and then appeared uninterested in getting spanked by the Wild in Game Two. Throwing games away is not much of a recipe for success but will give the Blues a pass knowing they are 8-1-1 in L10 and killers at 26-10-5 at home where they always do their best work. See the home team with a 5-2 type of win here. |
05-04-22 | Lightning v. Maple Leafs -126 | 5-3 | Loss | -126 | 9 h 22 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDNESDAY NHL PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Toronto Maple Leafs We played the Maple Leafs in Game One, a 5-0 Toronto win, and came away with two things. The two-time defending champ Lightning look tired and heavy footed. The Maple Leafs looked focused and were just flying around with a purpose. This didn't look like a one-time thing and look for Toronto in a repeat performance tonight. It's tough to maintain the excellence that we've seen from Tampa Bay the last four years. The Bolts run just might be coming to an end and Toronto, one of the original six who has not won a Stanley Cup since 1967, might be ready to kick in the door. Toronto 5-3. |
05-03-22 | Penguins v. Rangers -125 | 4-3 | Loss | -125 | 10 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the NY Rangers This game and this series depends on one thing .... Igor Shesterkin. With a month left in the NHL regular season, Shesterkin was in the mix as a top three candidate for MVP but minor injuries and average play has made that a moot point. The season series was 2-1 NYR (3-2, 5-1, 0-1) and the Broadway Blues have one of the strongest home ice ads in the league. Big game and big series for the Rangers and this year they have the coach and the players to make a legitimate run. The Rangers draw first blood. |
05-02-22 | Lightning v. Maple Leafs -117 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 36 h 39 m | Show
DMACK'S MONDAY NHL PLAYOFFS FIRST BLOOD winner is on the Toronto Maple Leafs The great thing about the NHL playoffs is that you just never know. Home ice sometimes means nothing and upsets are pretty much routine. All eight playoff teams in the Eastern Conference racked up 100 points so all eight are legit and any of the eight could win. Toronto has been knocking on the door the last couple of years with Auston Mathews and Co. They endured some early round playoff disasters but this just might be their year. Tampa Bay is the two-time defending champs but have been very ordinary on the road and the Leaf offense has been very much in sync. Can't see anything less than a top notch Toronto effort here. |
04-29-22 | Golden Knights v. Blues -165 | 7-4 | Loss | -165 | 8 h 4 m | Show
DMACK FRIDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the St Louis Blues The VGK will not be going to the playoffs for the first time in franchise history having lost three straight games by shootout with the Knights a historically tied for third all-time 0-17 in the extra extra stanza. The Blues are 8-1-1 in their L10 with that loss coming at Colorado in their last ... no shame there. Look for St Louis to try and get it's mojo back with a win here against a team the don't especially like to begin with. |
04-29-22 | Flames -145 v. Jets | 1-3 | Loss | -145 | 8 h 40 m | Show
DMACK FRIDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Calgary Flames Winnipeg will see it's nightmare season come to a close while Calgary will start a playoff series with Nashville. The Flames could rest everyone and mail this one in (and could still very well win) but with red-ass Darryl Sutter at the helm, that won't happen as Calgary is made of better stuff as evidenced as 7-1-2 L10 run down the stretch in a division that they had iced long ago. |
04-29-22 | Blackhawks v. Sabres -122 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 46 m | Show
DMACK FRIDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Buffalo Sabres The Sabres lost their last game at a red-hot Boston Bruin team on Wednesday. Buffalo had won prior four including two home games that they won by 9-5 aggregate. Chicago has won two straight against Philly and VGK on home ice. The Blackhawks are 14-21-5 on the road this year and figure to just go through the motions of getting this one out of the way. |
04-26-22 | Ducks v. Sharks -126 | 5-2 | Loss | -126 | 11 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the San Jose Sharks The last 25 games for the Ducks has been a nightmare. Saturday the Ducks were up 2-0 at home after a period and lost 7-3 to the Blues. San Jose has had a similar season but to their credit, they have not quit and been a spoiler on different occasions. The recent games they have lost have been by a goal and the majority of those were overtime or a shootout. Plenty of snipers in San Jose and the price is certainly fair. |
04-26-22 | Panthers -116 v. Bruins | 2-4 | Loss | -116 | 7 h 9 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Florida Panthers There is still an outside chance, granted very outside, that these two could meet in the first found. That said, this game could be a statement game towards next week. Florida has just been a juggernaut. President's Trophy winner (most points), 25 more goals than No.2, a goal differential of 100. Not as much on the road as 34-7 at home but so much more firepower than Boston. Nice price. |
04-26-22 | Devils v. Senators -140 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 59 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Ottawa Senators The Devils have lost three straight after pretty much twisting the knife in Las Vegas last week. New Jersey just playing out the string and another year of misery will be over on Friday. Ottawa has actually has put together a nice second half and can take that momentum into next year. The Sens have won three straight and have always played their best on home ice this year. Easy call. |
04-24-22 | Wild -113 v. Predators | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Minnesota Wild Nashville needs point for a wildcard bid. The Preds were spanked at Tampa Bay last night and Music City is playing no defense at the wrong time giving up 17 markers the last three games. The Wild are hitting on all cylinders at 7-1-2 L10 and fine tuning an offense that has had no trouble lighting the lamp. Minnesota 4-2. |
04-23-22 | Blackhawks v. Sharks -138 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
DMACK SAT NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the San Jose Sharks Neither team showing much signs of life. Chicago is 2-7-1 L10 and 14-25 on the road. San Jose is not much better at 1-5-4 but has at least extended four game to OT or a shootout and to their credit are almost .500 on home ice at 17-21. Shark snipers take advantage of shaky Hawk play between the pipes to get a win. |
04-23-22 | Canadiens v. Senators -145 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show
DMACK SAT NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Ottawa Senators The Canadiens have lost seven straight and appear to be in a complete tank mode as they are just one-point ahead of Arizona for the first pick in the May 10th amateur draft. Ottawa continues to play hard after a nightmare start and always does it's best work at home. Sens make it three straight. |
04-22-22 | Avalanche -105 v. Oilers | 3-6 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Colorado Avalanche Two of the top teams in the West go at it here. Colorado 8-2 L10 but off B2B losses. Edmonton 8-1-1 L10 and close to locking up a playoff spot in the Pacific. The teams have met twice during the year with the Avs winning both but taken to a shootout and overtime. No real urgency here for either team but one would have to think that Colorado could get back on track and celebrate the President's Trophy with points here. Take Colorado. |
04-20-22 | Capitals +117 v. Golden Knights | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 12 m | Show
DMACK's WEDNESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Washington Capitals Las Vegas is in a world of hurt and at this point, a long shot at making the playoffs. The VGK is on the outside looking in by at least three points in the division and wildcard and off two horrific home ice losses, the last to the Devils. The Caps have clinched the playoffs but barely and will face the Eastern Conference gauntlet in their current position. Caps off B2B road wins including nice win over Western Conference juggernaut Colorado 48 hours ago. Looking at Cap snipers to take advantage of shaky at best VGK goaltending to get the win here. |
04-19-22 | Bruins v. Blues -122 | 3-2 | Loss | -122 | 10 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the St Louis Blues The Blues have won nine straight and spanking the NHL elite like they stole St Louis' lunch. Every part of the Blues team is hitting on all cylinders .... offense, defense, and special teams. St Louis is 26-9-4 on home ice this year and to get them at 20 cents vs. anyone is just good business. |
04-16-22 | Wild v. Blues -110 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 53 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL ICE PIK winner is on the St Louis Blues Both teams tied with 98 points, well back of Colorado in the Central but still a huge seeding game for bot teams. Both teams playing great, the Wild 7-1-2 L10, the Blues 9-0-1 and winners of seven straight. The Blues win here! St Louis a nasty 25-9-4 at the Enterprise Center while the Wild are a tic above .500 (20-14-4) on enemy ice. The Blues have been mauling people as 24-9 aggregate in last five wins would suggest. |
04-15-22 | Islanders -140 v. Canadiens | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL PLAY OF THE DAY is on the NY Islanders The Islanders can still make the playoffs but just mathematically at best. They haven't quit having gone 6-4 last L10 they've had to make up a lot games in the second half an may be wearing down. Not best of spots here having played last night in Pittsburgh with travel to Montreal in second of back-to-backs but the Habs have quit, losing three straight, the last two on home ice by a 9-3 aggregate to Winnipeg and Columbus. Visitors roll. |
04-14-22 | Capitals v. Maple Leafs -150 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Toronto Maple Leafs Both teams are playing great and both teams are jockeying for playoff position in the ultra-competitive East. The Caps have won four straight but are just 6-4 L10 and have dug out of a big hole to get where they are now. Toronto will be a bit salty here after being dumped at Buffalo but that was with backup goalie and just their second loss in regulation in 10 (7-2-1) games. Jack Campbell (27-9-5) returns between the pipes and the high powered Toronto offense should return off hiccup with a big night against the Caps. |
04-12-22 | Golden Knights -123 v. Canucks | 4-5 | Loss | -123 | 36 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Vegas Golden Knights Both teams are struggling to get into the playoffs. VGK has won four of five to get four clear of the Canucks in the Pacific with nine to play but Vancouver has little margin for error, especially here. The teams played a recent home-and-home last week with each winning on the others home ice. The Vancouver 5-1 win was in Robin Lehner's return between the pipes in a rare game where he got very little help defensively. The Knights are getting healthy at just that right time with even captain Mark Stone now skating with the team. Neither team has an excuse here but has been a spot where VGK has thrived over their brief five year history. VGK finds a way. |
04-09-22 | Sharks v. Canucks -140 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
DMACK's SATURDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Vancouver Canucks The Sharks have lost five straight and are simply playing out the string. The Canucks are on a playoff respirator and have no margin for error. They must win out or will have no chance at the playoffs. Vancouver is off B2B 5-1 road wins at Vegas and Arizona and have always done their best work on home ice. Vancouver lives to fight another day. |
04-07-22 | Flyers v. Blue Jackets -124 | 4-1 | Loss | -124 | 18 h 37 m | Show
DMACK's THURS NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Columbus Blue Jackets Both teams are playing out the string but to the credit of the Blue Jackets, they continue to play hard. The Jackets are in a spot where they are making up games that were lost to the Covid break and are currently playing groups of home in homes. They were swept by the Islanders and Boston but were 4-2 winners over this same Philadelphia bunch just 48 hours ago. Columbus has done it's best work on home ice including scoring and fully see Columbus winning this game by multiple goals and that this 25 cents is the best spot on tonight's NHL board. |
04-05-22 | Senators -114 v. Canadiens | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 24 m | Show
DMack's Tues 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is on the Ottawa Senators Ottawa is arguably playing it's best hockey of the year. That's not saying much for a team with 56 points and languishing in seventh place in the Eastern Division. The Sens are off a home and home sweep of Detroit and their only two losses in six games came at Florida and Nashville. This is a fierce local rivalry between two teams that are not very good and the Sens are 0-2 versus 19-39-11 Montreal this year. Look for Ottawa to make that somewhat right with a win here. |
04-02-22 | Kings +114 v. Jets | 3-2 | Win | 114 | 15 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NHL DOG BITE winner is on the Los Angeles Kings The Kings have been as predictable as rain of late as evidenced by an inexplicable 6-1 loss at Seattle followed by a 3-2 win a Calgary in most recent. Winnipeg is 7-3 L10 and kicking and scratching to try and make a playoff run. Not a good spot here for homestanding Winnipeg who was smoked 7-3 at Toronto last night, traveled, and faces a King outfit with it's own playoff urgency although barring complete meltdown are in but can still get a home ice opening round. Kings 3-2. |
04-01-22 | Golden Knights -160 v. Seattle Kraken | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 22 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Vegas Golden Knights This is the second game of a home ice back-to-back, makeups for the games lost during the pandemic. Vegas won the first game 3-0 with rookie Logan Thomson notching his first shutout. The VGK has decimated by injuries all year long but have slowly but surely working starters back into the lineup. Possibly most importantly, the Golden Knight can play six (three pairs) of front line defensemen. Vegas is also starting to get some timely scoring from the players that need to score. We likely won't see a shutout here but 3-1 or 4-2 sounds about right. |
03-30-22 | Golden Knights -163 v. Seattle Kraken | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 14 h 46 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDNESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK VGK bounced back from their 0-5 roadie with two improbable wins in The Fortress. The Knights are desperate, ... if the playoffs started tonight, they'd be out so there is urgency in every game as some teams in front and just behind have games in hand. The Knights have suffered from injuries all year but help has returned (Alec Martinez) and help is on the way (Pacioretty, Lehner) so things are good for now. The Kraken have been and overall huge disappointment and are the the third worst team to bet in hockey, down a tic below 16 units. The Krak have played the VGK tough but talent and urgency rules the night here. Vegas 5-3. |
03-29-22 | Maple Leafs v. Bruins -124 | 6-4 | Loss | -124 | 12 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Boston Bruins Boston and Toronto have identical 41-19-5 records for 87 points and trail Tampa Bay by just a point for the two-hole in a very competitive Atlantic Division. The key here is home ice. At 17-12-3, the Leafs are basically a .500 team on the road while Boston is a dominating 20-10-2. The Bruins have flicked the switch and have won four straight and are 8-1-1 L10. Haven't seen a bad effort by the Bruins in some time and don't expect one here. Boston 4-2. |
03-26-22 | Canucks v. Stars -135 | 4-1 | Loss | -135 | 10 h 25 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NHL PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Dallas Stars Dallas made some moves at the trade deadline that has given them a jumpstart, and the Stars has played themselves back into the playoff race with three straight wins. The key pickups included goaltending which is much improved. Vancouver has been treading water but still has a long way to go and a lot of teams to jump to even manage a sniff at a playoff spot. Dallas is 21-8-1 on home ice and keeps current run going here. |
03-24-22 | Predators +100 v. Golden Knights | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Nashville Predators The Golden Knights have been decimated with injuries and are now also battling Covid again. They're 3-7 L10 and are off back-to-back shutout losses for the first time in the franchise's existence. Nashville by contrast is 7-3 L10 and have been surging in the second half. The Preds will be a bit salty here after getting spanked by the Kings 48 hours ago and take it out on an undermanned VGK team tonight. |
03-22-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Coyotes -105 | 4-2 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Arizona Coyotes The Kraken are 20-38-6. 8-20-3 on the road. The Kraken are 3-5-2 L10 and basically playing out the string of a disappointing inaugural season. Arizona has also had a horrific season put has put together it's best hockey of the year over it's L11 (7-4) games. Looking for the Coyotes to continue their uptick in play with a win here as Arizona looks to put something positive together heading into next year. The Coyotes have won both prior meetings this year, 5-4 on this ice early, and 5-2 in Seattle on February 9th. Arizona completes the season sweep here. |
03-20-22 | Coyotes +190 v. Sharks | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Arizona Coyotes The Coyotes only have 20 wins on the year by 7 of them have come over their L10 games. The Desert Dogs have been extremely impressive on enemy ice and have scored 27 goals in their last five outside the Grand Canyon State. The Sharks are 3-5-2 L10 and have lost three straight. This week, several of their stars got paid but it's painfully obvious that San Jose has mailed it in. Like Arizona's fight and the Coyotes are close to escaping the Western Conference cellar and with a couple of breaks, could play themselves out of the bottom of the Central Division bottom. A sweet +190 with a an ugly but VERY live dog. |
03-19-22 | Maple Leafs -118 v. Predators | 3-6 | Loss | -118 | 17 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Toronto Maple Leafs The Leafs are 6-3-1 L10 and have won two straight, beating Chicago and Carolina without leading scorer Auston Mathews who was serving a two-game suspension. His return adds 45 goals and 32 assists to an already potent offense that has climbed to within a point of Tampa Bay for second in the Atlantic Division. Nashville is a nice team but doesn't have the firepower to hang here if Toronto is hitting on all cylinders. Toronto 4-2. |
03-18-22 | Bruins -119 v. Jets | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Boston Bruins The Bruins were thumped at Minnesota 48 hours ago but no shame there as the Wild own one of the strongest home ice in the NHL. Boston was 5-1 in prior six and are a rock solid 19-9-3. Winnipeg is running on fumes in their playoff chase. The Jets are off a nice 7-3 over VGK but remember that the Knights went 0-5 on their last road trip and have gotten letting to know offense to help a struggling offense. Boston is a veteran ultra-professional outfit that knows how to take care of business and wins here. |
03-17-22 | Panthers -135 v. Golden Knights | 3-5 | Loss | -135 | 19 h 51 m | Show
DMACK's 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Florida Panthers Florida is a killer but that fact is that the Panthers are 26-6 at home and 15-7-6 on the road, essentially .500 at 15-13. That's going to work for us in several ways tonight and we play the side and the total. The Knights come off an 0-5 roadie and despite having the second easiest schedule in the league down the stretch, for the first time in the franchises brief history, the Knights will be life and death to make the playoffs. The VGK goaltending has been awful and the offense produced just 9 goals on this recent five-game whitewash. The Knights have always had a problem scoring and have had nothing late scoring just 10 goals in the third period of their last 15 games. For sure you will see a top notch effort here by the home team on it's home ice but if you don't have the horses ....... Florida 3-2. |
03-17-22 | Islanders v. Rangers -130 | 2-1 | Loss | -130 | 15 h 19 m | Show
DMACK's 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the NY RANGERS This is actually the biggest rivalry in New York. It's not the Yankees/Mets, Jets/Giants, or Kicks/Nets. The Islanders are just 10-12-5 on enemy ice (effectively 10-17) and just had their hearts torn out in a seven round 4-3 SO loss at the Caps. The Rangers are 20-5-3 at the Mecca, Madison Square Garden and will have this year's likely Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin (29-7-3) between the pipes here with his 2.07 GAA and .938 save percentage. Take the sweater off the Islanders and you're talker about the Broadway Blues being 50-75 cent favorites here. Rangers find a way to win. |
03-15-22 | Golden Knights v. Jets -110 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Winnipeg Jets We've been cashing ticket after ticket by playing against (fading) and injury riddled VGK. The Knights are in a tough spot as they don't score and have gotten poor goaltending from the backups to an injured Robin Lehner. The Jets are fighting for their playoff lives and have been better of late. The offense has really kicked in from the Jet snipers and Vegas just does not have the firepower to answer back. Getting better price as the undeserved Vegas bias is still in effect. |
03-15-22 | Penguins -110 v. Predators | 1-4 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Pittsburgh Penguins With less than 25 games left in the regular season, you're going to see playoff hockey down the stretch as teams jockey to make the playoffs. Both teams are in similar good form but the Pens are off two good home wins over Vegas and Carolina and are on the road here where they've done their best work. In fact, Pittsburgh is 19-10 with suitcase as opposed to 17-14 at home. Nashville torched for seven goals in last home game versus the Blues which has similar offense to the high octane Pens. |
03-15-22 | Islanders v. Capitals -151 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Capitals The Caps are 4-1 L5 and off a big road swing across the Pacific Northwest. The Islanders have won four of five against lesser and and all at home face a hot Cap team here with a 10-16 road record. The Caps are on the playoff bubble and sitting eighth, a minimum of three points out of seventh and all the teams in front of them with games in hand. Look for Washington to continue their hot play and cool off the home ice loving Islanders. |
03-13-22 | Golden Knights v. Blue Jackets +165 | 4-6 | Win | 165 | 9 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE YEAR winner is the Columbus Blue Jackets Vegas is on the verge of a complete collapse, thanks in most part to injuries, and also the problem they've had from their first day of existence five years ago, THEY CAN'T SCORE. Vegas is 0-3 on this roadie scoring four goals combined in those three games. The real killer is that in their L13 games, the Knights have scored just eight total goals in the third period. It's getting real old to average better than 40 shots on goal a game and barely average two goals. VGK is in cap hell and wouldn't be surprised to see them blow it up before the trade deadline. Columbus has made great strides this year with a new roster featuring a lot of good kids. They play hard every night and are always a handful at Nationwide Arena. The NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE YEAR is on the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS. |
03-12-22 | Kings -130 v. Sharks | 0-5 | Loss | -130 | 21 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Los Angeles Kings The Kings have firmly addressed the fact that they are for real and this team will not only make the playoffs but also have first-round home ice. They Kings are 7-2-1 L10 and have done their best work on enemy ice where they are a nifty 18-7-5 as opposed to 14-12-3. The Sharks started fast and are fading fast and destined to another year of early T-times. The price is certainly right. |
03-12-22 | Rangers +110 v. Stars | 7-4 | Win | 110 | 19 h 9 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the NY Rangers Really like the Rangers here based on the spot. If you follow us you know we look to play probable Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin when possible. He had a rare bad outing in last allowing four quick goals against St Louis and then getting a quick hook by Gerard Gallant. In his prior eight starts he has allowed more than one goal just once. Shesterkin is 18-7-3 with a 2.01 GAA and a .938 save percentage. Stars do not have enough offense to do much damage here. Take the Rangers. |
03-12-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Canadiens -105 | 4-3 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Montreal Canadiens The Kraken are 17-37-6 in their inaugural season, 7-20-3 on the road. They're 1-7-2 L10 with no help on the way. Montreal is actually 15-35-7 on the year but seven of those wins have come in their last 10 games. Habs in first home game after a five-game roadie that saw them win at Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa. While the Kraken are simply playing out the string, the Canadiens are a proud Original Six franchise that is looking to put something together to take them into next year. |
03-11-22 | Golden Knights v. Penguins -140 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 17 h 56 m | Show
DMack's NHL Game of the Week is on the Pittsburgh Penguins The Las Vegas Golden Knights are in a world of hurt. They're decimated with injuries, can't score, and in an absolutely terrible spot here. VGK has four goals in three games, just sent their top goaltender back to Vegas for an injury evaluation are in thir game in four days here with travel after a 3-1 loss at Buffalo last night. The Pens has lost two straight (Carolina in OT, 4-3 to Tampa Bay) after three straight good wins. They've had three days at home to prepare for this one and will have no excuses to not smoke the hapless Knights here. |
03-10-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Senators -125 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
DMack's Thursday NHL Ice Pick winner is the Ottawa Senators The Kraken haven't shown much of any life lately, 1-8-1 L10 and 7-20-3 overall on enemy ice. The Senators are what they are but have been very competitive against all comers of late. Saw every second of their recent 2-1 loss to Vegas and honestly, they deserved a better fate. This team play very hard at home and rates a quarter favorite against the struggling Kraken. |
03-08-22 | Capitals v. Flames -140 | 5-4 | Loss | -140 | 14 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Calgary Flames The Caps are getting a bit too much love here as they should probably be 65-70 dogs here which is string I know. Calgary is that good and have shown it all year. 8-1-1 L10, the Flames are off a win versus Colorado who they'll likely meet in the Western Conference finals. Washington just 5-5 L10 and the Caps have never regained the form they flashed the first two months of the season. Flames get the job done here. |
03-08-22 | Lightning -158 v. Jets | 4-7 | Loss | -158 | 13 h 18 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Tampa Bay Lightning The Jets are watching their season circle the drain and there hasn't been much they can do about it. They spanked by the Rangers on home ice in their last outing and face real killers here in the Lightning. The Bolts are 8-2 L10 and just a point out of the top spot in the Atlantic. Tampa Bay 18-7-2 on the road making this a very fair price. |
03-08-22 | Rangers +136 v. Wild | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 17 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the NY Rangers The Wild were sitting pretty in the Western Conference until current 2-8 L10 has played them right out of home ice spot in the first round of the playoffs. They're night likely to get healthy against a Ranger club that has won three straight and is 7-2-1 L10. If you've followed us this year, you know that we like backing likely Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin who looks for his 29th win on the season here. 35 cent dog price is impossible to pass up. |
03-06-22 | Rangers +107 v. Jets | 4-1 | Win | 107 | 9 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE ICE PIK winner is the New York Rangers It's been a brutal year for the Winnipeg Jets who now sit in 13th place in the NHL West. The Jets were never going to be a top four team in any case but with more or less just 25 games left in the season, Winnipeg has five teams to leapfrog just to get a first round sniff of Colorado or Calgary in the playoffs. The Rangers have won two straight and are 7-2-1 in their L10. The good new is that this is just their third game in seven days so we'll likely see Igor Shesterkin between the pipes rocking his 27-6-3 credentials. The Roadway Blues have ridden that goaltending, good defense and special teams, an timely scoring to 75 points and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. |
03-05-22 | Flames +133 v. Avalanche | 4-3 | Win | 133 | 21 h 55 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Calgary Flames This just might be a preview of the Western Conference final. The Avs already are rocking 40 wins and 81 points while the Flames are eight points back with two games in hand and 8-1-1 L10. Regardless, these are the two best teams in the West. Both teams possivby looking ahead to this game as both teams are off inexplicable losses to last place teams, Colorado to the Coyotes and the Flames in OT to Montreal. In the end, the Flames offense has been as good as it gets L10 and their relentless barrage of the Colorado net will wear the home team down. Calgary 5-3. |
03-05-22 | Predators -155 v. Sharks | 8-0 | Win | 100 | 19 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Nashville Predators Both teams have been struggling over their L10 games but that's where any similarity ends. Nashville (3-6-1) is 2-3 L5 going through the gauntlet and getting a split (W's over Fla and Dallas, losses at Carolina, Tampa Bay) and then losing at Seattle. San Jose has been awful since the first of the year, 2-5-3 L10 and waiting for the hammer to fall at next week's trade deadline. This is a game where the Preds have had 72 hours to regroup and get back on track. They will. |
03-05-22 | Blackhawks +105 v. Flyers | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Chicago Blackhawks Both teams are buried with no chance at the playoffs and both are just playing out the string and waiting to see where they'll be after the trade deadline. The difference here is that having Marc-Andre Fleury in goal will give you a chance and the Blackhawks two remaining scorers, DeBrincat and Kane have both been scoring with regularity. Chicago plays well against teams at their level which is all you can ask from teams with lacking talent. Philadelphia has shown nothing all year and has not been this down since it's expansion years 50+ years ago. Chicago. |
03-04-22 | Stars -105 v. Jets | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Dallas Stars Both teams are in an eight team log jam for the final three spots in the Western Conference playoffs with more or less 25-28 games left in the season. Each team has won two straight but the Stars are 7-2-1 L10 where the Jets snapped a four game losing streak with wins over bottom feeders Arizona and Montreal. Dallas is 2-1 in the series this year and all three games were decided by one goal. No real home ice edge for the Jets while current form points to Dallas. Stars prevail in a defensive 3-2, 3-1, 4-2 game. |
03-03-22 | Bruins +103 v. Golden Knights | 5-2 | Win | 103 | 14 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Boston Bruins Boston continue long roadie for game five of six in Las Vegas. The Bruins saw four-game win streak snapped in Anaheim but prior had been very good including a win over Colorado. Don't read much into the VGK 3-1 win over San Jose and the return of Robin Lehner. VGK till with multiple injuries, no chemistry, and have his another one of their long periods of not finding the back of the net. If both teams play to current form, the Bruins get out to an early lead and cruise to a 3-1, 4-2 kind of win themselves. Like the visitors here. |
03-03-22 | Oilers -140 v. Blackhawks | 3-4 | Loss | -140 | 13 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Edmonton Oilers The Blackhawks are 3-6-1 L10 and with just 46 points, are in a logjam as one of the worst eight teams in the league. It looks like Chicago has thrown in the towel and you can expect to see several players to be on the move at next week's trade deadline including goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Edmonton has gone through it's own mini-road gauntlet after a six-game wn streak. Losses at Minn, Carolina, and Tampa Bay but they did win at Florida and get much softer spot here. The worst is over for the Oilers and we fully expect them to return to making run at a first round home ice game in the playoffs. |
03-03-22 | Hurricanes -130 v. Capitals | 0-4 | Loss | -130 | 12 h 59 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Carolina Hurricanes The Caps are 4-6 L10, have lost three straight, and feature a linup that figures to be somewhat distracted by world events. At just 12-11-5 at the Cap Center, they're also below .500 on home ice and face a killer in the Carolina Hurricanes who are 6-2-2 L10 and should be a bit salty after 4-3 OT loss to the Red Wings. Look closely at Detroit at home and you will see that is not such a bad loss. The Canes are veru good and just find ways to win. |
02-28-22 | Canucks +105 v. Devils | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 41 m | Show
DMACK'S MONDAY NIGHT ICE PICK winner is on the Vancouver Canucks The New Jersey Devils has dropped to eighth and last place in the Metro and have just been consistently mediocre all year long. The Devils are 3-7 L10, 10-13-3 at home and are in the mix to be the first team in the NHL to give up 200 goals. Vancouver cleaned house in the front office before the first of the year and it's paid huge dividends The Canucks were already buried at that point but are now above .500, have a positive goal differential, and have an outside shot at a playoff spot with a little luck. Vancouver strangely enough does it's best work on the road and New Jersey is a team that they can beat, should beat, and will beat. Take Vancouver. |
02-27-22 | Islanders v. Ducks -110 | 4-0 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE PIK winner is the Anaheim Ducks We played against the Islanders last night vs. the Kings and were rewarded with a 5-2 Kings win. This is Game Four of a five game West Coast swing through the Pacific Division that has yielded just a win over the freefalling expansion Kraken. Tonight, the Islanders go cross town for a B2B with the Ducks on the back end and the face pretty much what they saw last night, timely scoring and top notch goaltending tandem of Gibson and Stolarz. The Ducks are currently two points out of the playoffs and need this game even more than the slumping Islanders. New York in back-to-back nights, this is only the Ducks third game in eight nights. Anaheim 4-2. |
02-26-22 | Islanders v. Kings -115 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Los Angeles Kings I was 100% wrong about the Islanders who have pretty much quit. They have no chance to make playoffs despite games in hand and it shows on the ice. Expect changes over the summer if not at the trade deadline. Everyone expects the Kings to fold and go away. It hasn't happened and won't happen. Especially when they can send Quick or Peterson between the pipes on a nightly basis. We like LA. |
02-26-22 | Avalanche -135 v. Golden Knights | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 14 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Colorado Avalanche The VGK is in a world of hurt having lost four of five. Stone is on LTIR and Lehner is out for the immediate future. No scoring, no continuity, and nobody stepping up. Colorado is on the same level as Tampa Bay and is in fact the Lightning of the West. The teams played 10 days ago in Denver with both teams at full strength and Avs won 2-0 with VGK not even managing a sniff. Avs is an easy and confident call. |
02-26-22 | Wild v. Flames -139 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 14 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Calgary Flames The Flames have had 48 hours to digest 7-1 spanking at Vancouver Thursday after winning their prior four games by 17-4 aggregate. With Suter at the helm, I'm sure it wasn't pleasant. Wild in .500 funk last ten games and a different team on the road than home ice ice. Calgary win statement game. |
02-24-22 | Islanders -125 v. Sharks | 3-4 | Loss | -125 | 24 h 4 m | Show
DMACK THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the New York Islanders The Islanders are buried in the Eastern Conference and after suffering every adversity possible will likely not make the playoffs. That said, this team is too talented to have this record and they do have six games in hand against most of the other teams in their division. They played well in last three (2-1 with shootout loss to now red-hot Montreal), and have know excuse in San Jose where they face a Shark outfit that is 1-7-2 L10 and has lost seven straight. Islanders rolling on a glimmer of hope, the Sharks are making tee times. |
02-24-22 | Flames -153 v. Canucks | 1-7 | Loss | -153 | 24 h 36 m | Show
DMACK THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Calgary Flames Nothing wrong with Canucks (6-3-1 L10) who have turned it around since front office shake up but they are still no match for the raging Flames who have won 10 straight with no end in sight. In fact, this team is going to win the Pacific division by open lengths and have home ice at least through the Western Conference. The teams have played once with Calgary winning at home 1-0 in OT as the flames just do not give anything up. Flames last six, 3-1, 2-1, 6-2, 6-2, 5-2, 5-2, and 6-0. It won't go on forever but you can bet with confidence here. |
02-23-22 | Sabres v. Canadiens -110 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NIGHT NHL ICE PIK is on the Montreal Canadiens At 8-33-7, the Canadiens were buried in the worst season of this storied franchise's history. That is still likely to be the case but for some reason the Habs suddenly had had enough and flicked the switch. The Canadiens have won three in a row, nice wins, 3-2 in OT over St Louis, a shootout win at the Islanders, and a masterful 5-2 spanking of hated Toronto just 48 hours ago in a game they led 5-0. Tonight, a very winnable game against fellow cellar dweller Buffalo and a team that beat them 5-3 on this ice just 10 days ago. The Sabres have lost three straight and by a 15-7 aggregate. Look for Montreal to turn things around here and extend their run to four games with a win here. |
02-22-22 | Sharks v. Ducks -142 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Anaheim Ducks The Shark franchise is a train wreck and a complete blow up by the March 19th trade deadline. San Jose is saddled with terrible contracts and injuries to those same players which has left them handcuffed. They are talented and do have some pieces but not enough to turn things around. The Sharks have lost six straight and I watched every minute of last 4-1 home loss to VGK and can say without question that this team as a whole has quit. The Ducks are still in the hunt for a playoff spot. They snapped a four-game losing streak (Calgary 2X, Edmonton) by dropping seven on Vancouver and the Quack Attack has one of the best goalie tandems in the league with Gibson and Stolarz. Would rather be laying 25 cents than 40 but who wouldn't ..... still in my eyes the top NHL play on the board. |
02-21-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Canucks -155 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show
DMack's Mon President's Day Ice Pik is on the Vancouver Canucks Since making a coaching change and shaking up its front office. The Canuck won seven straight out of the box and has been basically .500 since. They're 5-3-2 in their L10 and face a Kraken team that has died a slow 7-15-2 death on the road. Seattle has lost their last three of all kinds and and are simply playing out the string of a lost inaugural season. Vancouver is worth the 50 cents. |
02-20-22 | Golden Knights -155 v. Sharks | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK WINNER is on the Las Vegas Golden Knights VGK has lost two straight home games, the last vs. the Kings that they led throughout until late third and overtime. Stone and Lehner are out for the immediate future so why play them at this point. It's as much a fade against the 2-4-4 L10 San Jose Sharks who are watching their season circle the drain after an encouraging first two months. This is Pete DeBoer's old team and there was a real hatred and rivalry when he was on the other side. VGK has pretty much dominated since he took over the homies. Most of the Sharks have little to play for except a ticket out at the trade deadline. Expect to see a sharper more focused Golden Knight team here. |
02-20-22 | Sabres v. Blue Jackets -160 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 11 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK WINNER is on the Columbus Blue Jackets You really have to like where the Blue Jackets are at this point, years ahead with their young team that they actually should be. They play hard every night and have been .500 across the board home and away. Columbus has won four of five with the only loss to white-hot Calgary. For Buffalo, it's anoth case of wait till next year. The Sabres are 8-14-4 at home and 8-12-4 on the road. They've lost two straight by multiple goals and Buff is 0-2 against the Jackets this year losing 7-4 on this ice early on and 4-3 in OT 10 days ago in New York State. Price possibly 10 cents high but as a rule, the Jackets beat who they are supposed to beat. |
02-19-22 | Oilers -130 v. Jets | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 15 h 16 m | Show
DMack's Saturday Night Ice Pick winner is the Edmonton Oilers The Oilers have won four straight since firing Dave Tippett as head coach and have won in dominating fashion by an 18-6 aggregate. The Jets have won two straight but are basically a .500 team that got off to a bad start, rallied, and has treaded water since the first of the year. The Jets currently sit 11th in the West, the Oilers 7th but .... are in a very real position to sneak into the top four and grab a home ice in the playoffs. Know that if Edmonton continues to play this kind of defense and gets the goaltending they've been getting which was non-existent through January, this team will make noise in the Western Conference playoffs. |
02-17-22 | Bruins -105 v. Islanders | 1-4 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 43 m | Show
DMack Thurs NHL 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Boston Bruins There comes a time when you have to stop making excuses for the Islanders. Sure they've had more adversity than most but this is a team that has not made a move and won't make a move .... they're just playing out the string. With an offense BARELY scoring two goals a game (105 this year), they have no margin for error nightly. The Bruins are just pros that go about their business. Bergeron back at 100% and only Marchand finishing up his suspension keeps Beantown at less than 100%. Boston in good spot here. Take the Bruins. |
02-16-22 | Avalanche -105 v. Golden Knights | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 19 h 37 m | Show
DMack's Colorado/VGK TNT Watch and Win Super Play is on the Colorado Avalanche The Colorado Avalanche are without question the best team in the NHL and in 47 games, still have not lost 10 games in regulation. Not the best of spots for Colorado who are off B2B games with a very good Dallas Star outfit but .... VGK has some issues of its own. High priced Jack Eichel makes his debut tonight off neck surgery and can at best be considered a question mark. Captain Mark Stone has been placed on long-term IR (10 games or 24 days min) and top goalie Robin Lehner is out with an "upper body" injury. All four Vegas lines have been shuffled. Tough against the clubhouse leader in the clubhouse. This will be a great game with playoff intensity. Colorado gets solid call. |
02-15-22 | Bruins v. Rangers -135 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
DMack's Tuesday NHL 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the New York Rangers. Boston is in a tough spot with their 1st and 3rd leading scorers out via suspension and injury. The Bruins don't have much scoring to begin with and are up against it here vs. the Rangers and top goalie Igor Shesterkin. The Broadway Blues are also in good form at 7-3 L10 and have one of the most formidable home ice venues in the NHL. Add to the mix, white hot goal scoring machine Chris Krider and you have all the ammunition you need on the Rangers. |
02-14-22 | Oilers -144 v. Sharks | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 18 m | Show
DMack's Monday Super Hangover Ice Pick winner is on the Edmonton Oilers The Sharks got off to fast start in October but began to come back to the field after the first of the year with no end in sight. San Jose has lost three straight and appears to just be playing out the string. They do have some players and could be players at the NHL trade deadline. Edmonton broke a long losing streak with five straight wins but then posted 4-0 and 4-1 losses out of the break and fired their coach. Won 3-1 in bounce game with the Islanders and may have got the message. On the road here, but better team and fair price. |
02-12-22 | Islanders v. Flames -165 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 18 h 1 m | Show
DMack's Super Saturday Night NHL Ice Pick winner is on the Calgary Flames The Islanders are really up against it. They have games in hand but almost no offense and just can't make up ground in what has to be called a lost season. The Flames on the other hand are not only very good, they have the worst of it in the rearview window with 10+ extra home games the rest of the way after a severely road heavy first half. The Flame have won five straight, eight of ten, and face a team that played last night at Edmonton. Calgary checks all the boxes, spot, matchup, and a fair price. |
02-11-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Ducks -150 | 4-3 | Loss | -150 | 22 h 9 m | Show
DMack's Thurs 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is the Anaheim Ducks The Kraken are playing out the string on a disappointing first season that finds them 15-28-4 overall and 6-13-2 on the road. They face a Duck outfit that surprised at the start and keeps on keeping on. They are a young team with plenty of skill and an excellent goaltending tandem that can put a team on their back and carry them in the playoffs. The Quack Attack get the money here. |
02-11-22 | Islanders v. Oilers -140 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 21 h 10 m | Show
DMack's Thurs 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is the Edmonton Oilers The Oiler lost their first two game out of the All-Star Break by a 7-1 aggregate and promptly fired head coach Dave Tippett who had been 95-62-14 in 2+ years. That will get the team's attention and they have the perfect team to get back on track against tonight in the Islanders who have shown no indications of breaking out of their all season long doldrums. Hockey coaching changes generally don't produce the bounce you see in some sports but might get the desired results here. |
02-11-22 | Jets v. Stars -150 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 21 h 40 m | Show
DMack's Thurs 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is the Dallas Stars The Jets are 8-9-6 on the road, 3-5-2 L10 and five points behind the Stars In the NHL Central. Haven't seen anything to think that a run is in the making, especially at this difficult venue. The Stars are off a rock solid win over the Preds 48 hours ago and seem poised for their own run as Dallas sits in the Western Conference nine-hole, on the outside looking in. Dallas is 16-6-1 on its home ice and NUST win these for a shot at the post-season. |
02-10-22 | Hurricanes -105 v. Bruins | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 16 h 59 m | Show
DMack's Thursday Night NHL Ice Pick winner is on the Carolina Hurricanes The Canes are one of the top three teams in the NHL but are shaking off some cobwebs from the All-Star break losing B2B OT decisions on the road at Toronto and Ottawa on B2B nights. Face a tough Bruins team here but the Bruins will be missing top two scorers here with Bergeron hurt and Marchand likely suspended. Carolina still on top of the Metro with three games in hand and 7-1 prior to the break. Carolina. |
02-09-22 | Predators +105 v. Stars | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 44 m | Show
DMack's WEds Night NHL Ice Pick winner is on the Nashville Predators Dallas was treading water for weeks before the break and there is no reason to think that would change here. This is a team that is granted, tough at home but ... is several games above .500 with a negative goal differential. The Preds are solid up and down, in all facets of the games and without question rock one of the top three goalie tandems in the league. Nashville gives up nothing and has decent scoring but if the Preds are able to pick up an elite sniper (goal scorer) at the trade deadline, they're going to be a handful in the playoffs. |
02-08-22 | Golden Knights -115 v. Oilers | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Vegas Golden Knights Edmonton has won four of five after a horrific streak that had dropped them to second to last in the Pacific ahead of only the expansion Kraken. Oiler goalie Mike Smith has been battling thub problems but will have to go with the backups in Covid protocol. VGK has battled injuries and Covid all year and are still in first thanks to the teams seemingly unending depth. VGK will be as healthy as they've been all year for this one and if Lehner is on point, VGK should find a way to get it done. |

02-02-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Islanders -180 | 3-0 | Loss | -180 | 9 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NHL ICE PICK winner is on the NY Islanders The Kraken are just 5-13-2 on the road and though they have been somewhat more competitive off long home run of late (4-6, L10), their -41 goal differential is still third worst in the NHL. In essence, the Islanders are playing playoff hockey from here on out if they hope to have any sniff at the playoffs. NYI has 6-9 games in hand on most of the East but even if they won them all, they would be precariously close to the danger zone in a very tough Metro/East Conf. The Islanders have top grade talent but have faced a perfect storm of nonsense. GOOD TEAMS HAVE TO WIN GAMES LIKE THESE. Islanders 5-2. |
01-31-22 | Ducks +100 v. Red Wings | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 18 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S MONDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Anaheim Ducks The Red Wings got off to fast start this year with young overachievers who are starting to fade as we pass the halfway mark of the season. Motown is just 3-5-2 L10 and a their once impregnable home ice has been very ordinary of late. The Ducks straddle the top of the Pacific with VGK and Calgary. This is a young team on the improve that rocks a goalie in John Gibson that could take the Kings far into the playoffs. The Duck offense is improving and iwith Gibson between the pipes, it won't take five or six goals here to get the Quack Attack across the finish line. Take Anaheim. |
01-30-22 | Blue Jackets -130 v. Canadiens | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Columbus Blue Jackets At 8-28-7, the Canadiens are a disaster that will require a complete rebuild from the bottom up. The Habs are just 5-12-1 on home ice so there is not much relief there. The Jackets got off to a fast start but have leveled off. That said, they've done some good things and and have some very good young players that are all making their bones by playing. The teams have not met yet this year but still not shy about playing the road team here. Take Columbus. |
01-29-22 | Golden Knights v. Lightning -155 | 3-2 | Loss | -155 | 19 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL POWER PLAY winner is on the Tampa Bay Lightning VGK is 1-1-1 on the first three legs of this gauntlet road trip of Washington-Carolina-Florida-TampaBay and got some much needed help from the cavalry in their last when Max Pacioretty returned to the lineup. That said, the Knights generated little in the way of offense in 4-1 loss at Florida. Tampa Bay has won four of five and two straight as they continue to roll. Arguably the most complete team in hockey, the Bolts have the best goalie in hockey in Vasilevskiy, the best defenseman in Hedman and three lines that score, a tough combination to beat. Tampa 15-4-3 at home and will be a handful the rest of the way. |
01-28-22 | Wild v. Rangers +100 | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 9 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the NY Rangers The Rangers are in a three way tie for first in the Metro with the Broadway Blues having played a few more games but having a schedule that is home-ice loaded the rest of the way and where the NYR excel. The Rangers are 13-3-2 at home and have a top three goaltender in Shesterkin who is now 100% healthy after a bout with Covid. Nothing bad to say about the Wild, a team that is also VERY home ice loaded (14-3-1 vs. 11-7-2) and somewhat pedestrian on the road. The Rangers get the money in a defensive lower scoring game with goals at a premium. |
01-27-22 | Golden Knights v. Panthers -155 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Florida Panthers VGK has done it with smoke and mirrors all year, battling multiple injuries and Covid that on some nights has cost them up to 40% of their salary cap out in one night. The Knights are short-handed here but have still taken three of the first four points on this "gauntlet" roadie that sees them play Washington-Carolina-Florida-Tampa Bay. The buck stops tonight against the Panthers who are 21-3 on home ice and off a ho hum West Coast roadie of their own. Flat out, Florida is one of the top three teams in the league .... big, physical, deep, talented and well coached. Vegas has no solution for this bunch. |
01-25-22 | Predators -150 v. Seattle Kraken | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 20 h 55 m | Show
DMack's Tuesday Night Ice Pick winner is on the Nashville Predators Nothing bad to say about the Preds who are in third place in a stacked Central Division. The Preds have on two straight and are 6-3-1 L10 and complete with good scoring and solid goaltending. The Ktaken are off the biggest win in their brief franchise history, stopping the Florida Panthers 5-3 on this ice. Seattle is just not very good. They are in last place in a weak Pacific and have played an extremely front loaded home ice schedule. The Kraken will be buried with road games in the not too distant future and will likely get buried further. Fat and happy here against a professional and very good Nashville team. Reds get the money here. |
01-24-22 | Stars -155 v. Flyers | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S MONDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Dallas Stars The Flyers have lost 11 straight (again) with no end in sight. It's a matter of time before the time before this once proud franchise is blown up and their top six players including long-time keystone Claude Giroux will reportedly be on the move before the March 21st trade deadline. Dallas is a much better team on home ice than they are on the road but have much the better of it here, especially between the pipes with Jake Oettinger. Dallas gets the money here. |
01-22-22 | Flames -110 v. Oilers | 3-5 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 55 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Calgary Flames The Flames were one of the hottest teams in hockey prior to the break but have been slow to return to form, IMO because lack of game play. The Flames could be back on track after smoking Florida 5-1 right after Florida waxed tonight's opponent Edmonton 6-0 on the Oilers own home ice. Edmonton on a cataclysmic 2-12-2 run and seven straight losses. Calgary has had three days off to prep for the Oiler snipers and get the money here. |
01-20-22 | Panthers -150 v. Oilers | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 45 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Florida Panthers All is not well in Edmonton. The Oilers had lost six straight and are now in seventh place in the Pacific division albeit with 3-4 games in hand. The Oilers have not gotten much goaltending and that's not good news against the Panther scoring machine that is 8-1-1 L10 but off a 5-1 loss to a very good Calgary team in their most recent. The Panthers get back on track here in what could be a shootout if the Oiler snipers can find the back of the net. |
01-18-22 | Islanders -125 v. Flyers | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 31 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NHL PLAY OF DAY winner is on the NY Islanders The Flyers are 2-6-2 L10 and have lost eight straight. Philly has some nice pieces and figures to be a major player before the March 21st trade deadline. The Islanders are in last place in the Atlantic but consider this. The Islanders have six to eight games in hand on everyone in the division. Remember that the Islanders also played their first 13 games on the road as they awaited the opening of their new arena. The Isles have a good roster and are coming around going 6-3-1 L10. Make no mistake, New York has dug itself a deep hole but they have the time, the games, and the talent to make up their early deficits. It starts with beating on beating on struggling teams like the Flyers. The Islanders get the money here. |
01-17-22 | Blackhawks +103 v. Seattle Kraken | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
DMack's Monday NHL Power Pack winner is on the Chicago Blackhawks The Kraken have lost nine straight and there is no end in site for this struggling expansion franchise. The Blackhawks have been playing somewhat better and have been getting top notch goaltending from Mark-Andre Fleury who is 11-4-2 in his L17 starts after a horrific first month in the windy City. Take Chicago. |
01-17-22 | Kings -110 v. Sharks | 2-6 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 14 m | Show
DMack's Monday NHL Play of the Day winner is on the LA Kings The Sharks are coming back to the field after an unexpected fast start. The Kings have won four straight by a 16-4 agg and their goal scorers are in the zone and they've had Top Three goaltening all year. These are team headed in opposite directions the rest of the year and the price is right. |
01-17-22 | Canadiens +110 v. Coyotes | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 12 m | Show

01-15-22 | Kings -125 v. Seattle Kraken | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 15 h 37 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL GAME OF THE WEEK is on the LA Kings The LA Kings are one of the surprise teams in the NHL this year and are really pretty good getting timely scoring and excellent work between the pipes which will obviously keep you in any game. The King just spanked the previously white-hot Penguins in their last and face a Kraken team that's been a 10-24-4 mess with a -35 goal differential in their expansion season. At 25 cents the price is right and the Kings do what they do .... grind out 3-2 or 4-3 kinds on wins. |
01-13-22 | Penguins -140 v. Kings | 2-6 | Loss | -140 | 21 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS NHL 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Pittsburgh Penguins The Penguins are on a sweet 9-1 run which should actually be 12 straight if not for a meltdown that saw the Pens give up two goals in the final 120 seconds at Dallas. The Kings continue to surprise but just don't have the fire power to deal with tonight's visitor. |
