04-11-22 | Nationals v. Braves -1.5 | 11-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
DMack's Monday MLB Play of the Day is on the Atlanta Braves run line (Action) The Nats salvaged the final game of a four-game set with the Mets on Sunday but get right back in the cauldron at the World Champion Braves. The Nats have not listed a starter at this writing but the Bravos send out Ynoa is was 1-0 with a 3.20 ERA in six games (four starts) vs. Washington last year. He had a 2.89 in nine home starts last year and we'll ride him here. |
04-10-22 | Bulls v. Wolves -6 | 124-120 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 54 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Minnesota T-Wolves The Bulls are virtually conceding this one as their playoff path is set and is Billy Donovan's only focus. DeRozan, LaVine, Vucevic, Thomas, Caruso, and White are all expected to be rest scratches. The Wolves are locked in with the Clippers on Tuesday. Karl-Anthony Towns will be held out for rest with Beverly and Russell game time decisions. Regardless, really like the T-Wolves reserves to put on a show here and cruise to a 20+ point win. |
04-10-22 | Ducks v. Hurricanes -1.5 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE PIK winner is on Carolina Puck Line The Ducks are 2-3 L5 with wins over hapless Arizona and Philadelphia. Anaheim is 2-10 L12 overall and meets a Hurricane outfit that is struggling now and looking to right the ship before the playoffs. They have the perfect patsy to get the offense going here and we'll lay the double-duty knowing we mitigate the -400 price tag and knowing the Canes might very well drop a seven burger on the Quack Attack. |
04-09-22 | Tecia Torres +100 v. Mackenzie Dern | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S UFC 273 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is on Tecia Torres Analysis to follow |
04-09-22 | Vinc Pichel -115 v. Mark Madsen | 0-1 | Loss | -115 | 19 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S UFC 273 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is on Vinc Pichel |
04-09-22 | Sharks v. Canucks -140 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
DMACK's SATURDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Vancouver Canucks The Sharks have lost five straight and are simply playing out the string. The Canucks are on a playoff respirator and have no margin for error. They must win out or will have no chance at the playoffs. Vancouver is off B2B 5-1 road wins at Vegas and Arizona and have always done their best work on home ice. Vancouver lives to fight another day. |
04-09-22 | Kings v. Clippers -11.5 | 98-117 | Win | 100 | 9 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the LA Clippers The Kings have quit as evidenced by two double-digit home losses in their most recent. They finish on the road at Clippers and then at Phoenix so SacTown figure to be wanting to put out of it's misery. The Clippers have won three straight and have locked up the eight hole for the Play-In. This team could be ready to make life difficult for someone with PG13 back in the lineup. Clippers 122-103. |
04-09-22 | Jared Vanderaa -120 v. Aleksei Oliynyk | 0-1 | Loss | -120 | 189 h 58 m | Show
DMACK'S UFC 273 EARLY RELEASE SUPER PLAY winner is on Jared Vanderaa Aleksei Oliynyk is a 44-year-old grizzled vet fighting in his 77th (59-16-1) MMA fight. He's been reduced to gatekeeper status at this point as his time is about to run out. He's been somewhat jerked around by Ilir Latifi who was scheduled to fight the Russian but has been a last minute cancellation on three cards in five weeks. The UFC was able to get Oliynyk a fight with a late replacement in Jared Vanderaa who takes this on short notice having lost a split decision to another Russian veteran, Andrei Arlovski on February 12th. Vanderaa, a giant of a man at 6'5" and the full 265, is just 12-7 but was robbed in the Arlovski and was razor sharp with a pinpoint snapping jab and brutal leg kicks. Oliynyk is a submission specialist that would love to get this to the mat but will it tough going closing distance with an athletic big man who is definitely on the improve. Vanderaa is also a blackbelt in BJJ though he hasn't chosen to use it in recent fights. Don't see a stoppage by either fighter here but really like Vanderaa who should probably be a t least a -150 favorite here. |
04-09-22 | Kay Hansen v. Piera Rodriguez -119 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 16 h 1 m | Show
DMACK'S UFC 273 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is on Piera Rodriguez Analysis to follow |
04-08-22 | Knicks -3 v. Wizards | 114-92 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the NY KNICKS Both teams are 35-45 and tied for 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Both are playing out the string and there is little solace in finishing 11th but it is something in a game that basically means nothing. The Knicks will basically have their starters and bench while the Wiz will be playing without three important cogs in Porzingis, Caldwell-Pope, and Kuzma. Bradley Beal was shut down in early February. Expecting the Knicks to give a top effort here and come away with an 8-10 win. |
04-07-22 | Grizzlies +3 v. Nuggets | 109-122 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 8 m | Show
DMack's NBA Play of the Day winner is on the Memphis Grizzlies The Grizz are locked into the Western Conference two hole and the Nuggets pretty locked in the six hole. Regardless of Denver's final positioning, Golden State or Dallas, the Nuggets are likely to limit the minutes of Jokic and Aaron Gordon over the final two games. Memphis is very good and very deep. The Grizz are 20-3 in games that Ja Morant hasn't played and that includes and OT loss at Utah in their most recent. Memphis has played with "next man up" mentality all year and that will serve them well here and moving forward. |
04-07-22 | Flyers v. Blue Jackets -124 | 4-1 | Loss | -124 | 18 h 37 m | Show
DMACK's THURS NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Columbus Blue Jackets Both teams are playing out the string but to the credit of the Blue Jackets, they continue to play hard. The Jackets are in a spot where they are making up games that were lost to the Covid break and are currently playing groups of home in homes. They were swept by the Islanders and Boston but were 4-2 winners over this same Philadelphia bunch just 48 hours ago. Columbus has done it's best work on home ice including scoring and fully see Columbus winning this game by multiple goals and that this 25 cents is the best spot on tonight's NHL board. |
04-07-22 | Brewers -1.5 v. Cubs | 4-5 | Loss | -111 | 12 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S MLB OPENING DAY MATINEE BIG TICKET winner is on the Brewers Run Line For obvious reasons, writeups will be limited and short until team gets 10 games in or twice through the rotations. Burnes is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in seven appearances at Wrigley albeit, just two starts. Hendricks rocked a 5.24 ERA in 15 starts at the Friendly Confines last year but the Blue Bears have been stripped bare and will lack firepower here. |
04-06-22 | Celtics -6.5 v. Bulls | 117-94 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Boston Celtics The Bulls have seen their season go down the tubes after a seemingly never ending litany of injuries that has left Chicago short-handed more often than not. The Bulls record against upper echelon teams is horrific and with good reason as they do not have the depth to compete vs. the best on a night in night out basis. In the past three weeks, the Bulls have lost by 21 to Milwaukee, 18 to Miami, 17 to New Orleans, 28 to Milwaukee, and 27 to Phoenix. Boston hit a speed bump of it's own with injuries but is still in the hunt for a home floor throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Celts are 8-2 L10 and continue to roll here despite being on the road. |
04-05-22 | Oilers -1.5 v. Sharks | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 22 h 55 m | Show
DMack's Tues 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is Edmonton on the Puck Line The Sharks are 1-4 L5 with the win coming against the 1-7-2 L10 free-falling Ducks while three of the four losses have come by three or more goals. Edmonton has won four straight by a 22-10 aggregate and assuming that they win here which we think, it's hard to imagine the surging Oilers to not win by margin. Oilers puck line gets a confident not. |
04-05-22 | Grizzlies +5.5 v. Jazz | 115-121 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NBA DOG BITE winner is on the Memphis Grizzlies No Ja Morant .... no problem! Since the young superstar guard went out with a bum knee on March 24th, the Grizz have flourished. In fact, Memphis is 20-2 without the former Murray State Racer and many of the teams offensive metrics are better without him. There is no way the Grizz can continue this pace but we're not asking Memphis to win straight up ... we're getting a half dozen points against a Jazz team that has it's own issues and from an ATS perspective ... is as dependable as rain. Memphis 108-105. |
04-05-22 | Bruins -1.5 v. Red Wings | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 53 m | Show
DMack's Tues 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is Boston on the Puck Line The Red Wings have lost six straight, the most recent two a 5-2 and 5-2 sweep to the Ottawa Senators and two back of that, the Penguins hung an 11-burger on them. The Bruins have won four of five by a 26-14 aggregate and six of the goals allowed came in one 60 minute meltdown vs. raging Toronto. See very little problem with the Bruins prevailing here and picking up 50 cents extra with an insurance goal. |
04-05-22 | Senators -114 v. Canadiens | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 18 h 24 m | Show
DMack's Tues 3-Game NHL Power Pack winner is on the Ottawa Senators Ottawa is arguably playing it's best hockey of the year. That's not saying much for a team with 56 points and languishing in seventh place in the Eastern Division. The Sens are off a home and home sweep of Detroit and their only two losses in six games came at Florida and Nashville. This is a fierce local rivalry between two teams that are not very good and the Sens are 0-2 versus 19-39-11 Montreal this year. Look for Ottawa to make that somewhat right with a win here. |
04-04-22 | North Carolina v. Kansas -4 | 69-72 | Loss | -110 | 39 h 0 m | Show
DMack's UNC/Kansas National Championship Super Play winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks We were easy winners with Kansas over Villanova and look to the Rock Shocks to seal the deal here. Very similar situation to last year where we saw Baylor win first semi in a walk and then watched Gonzaga and UCLA battle it out in an OT instant classis. Baylor to surprisingly spanked the Zags on Monday night. Saturday, Kansas got out to 10-0 and 38-19 leads over Villanova and cruised. North Carolina was down to Duke at the half and was life and death to send arch rival Devils and Coach K to the shower. Kansas has been on a mission and gets it done here. |
04-03-22 | Wolves -12.5 v. Rockets | 139-132 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 11 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Minnesota T-Wolves Minnesota is locked in the 7-hole with nowhere to go and can play loose and easy. they've been involved on both ends on some real routes and big scores that last month. This is the third meeting between the two this year, Minnesota winning by 18 twice. Can't really say that the Rockets have quit but they haven't played near as well against playoff bound teams as they have against fellow bottom feeders. Houston involved in makeup games recently so actually 3-2 L5 against the Portland and Sacramento's of the world. Look a bit further back and you see a 110-91 loss to Dallas, a 122-98 loss to Memphis, a 129-112 loss to Phoenix and a 130-105 loss to New Orleans. You get the idea .... Minnesota 137-114. |
04-03-22 | Flyers v. Rangers -1.5 | 4-3 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY NHL ICE PIK winner is the Rangers on the Puck Line After Florida (90) and Carolina (98), there are six teams jockeying for home ice in the first round of the playoff. Theses are teams now with 93-90 points including the NY Rangers who will once again get to show off probable Vezina Trophy winner and possible league MVP, Igor Shesterkin. He hasn't been overly sharp of late but gets thrown a softball here versus Philly which is 8-20-5 on the road an coming into the gauntlet at MSG. Puckline takes ML down from -300 to about even money. The Rangers might just be a bit salty after 3-0 whitewash at the Islanders Friday so expect the Broadway Blue to make things right in a big way here where they are 22-7-3 this year. |
04-02-22 | Heat -1.5 v. Bulls | 127-109 | Win | 100 | 16 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Miami Heat Both teams have been struggling of late, the Heat with some internal problems, the Bulls with injury issues. The Heat have bounced back from some bad losses with a couple of wins including at Boston in it's most recent. They had 72 hours to prepare here and if Spoelstra has restored harmony in the locker room, the Heat really have no excuses to not take car of business against a basically undermanned but game Bulls outfit here. Miami 108-100. |
04-02-22 | Kings +114 v. Jets | 3-2 | Win | 114 | 15 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NHL DOG BITE winner is on the Los Angeles Kings The Kings have been as predictable as rain of late as evidenced by an inexplicable 6-1 loss at Seattle followed by a 3-2 win a Calgary in most recent. Winnipeg is 7-3 L10 and kicking and scratching to try and make a playoff run. Not a good spot here for homestanding Winnipeg who was smoked 7-3 at Toronto last night, traveled, and faces a King outfit with it's own playoff urgency although barring complete meltdown are in but can still get a home ice opening round. Kings 3-2. |
04-02-22 | Villanova v. Kansas -4 | 65-81 | Win | 100 | 19 h 19 m | Show
DMACK's VILLANOVA/KANSAS FINAL FOUR SUPER PLAY is on the Kansas Jayhawks Villanova has gone seven deep all year and the Wildcats received an unfortunate death blow in the Elite Eight when two way guard and second leading scorer Justin Moore went down with torn Achilles tendon. The Wildcats have nowhere to go to replace that (14.8, 4.8, 4.3) stat line against a bigger, more physical and deeper Kansas. The Jayhawks, the last one-seed left, have now won nine straight and in our opinion haven't even played a complete game yet. Rock Chalk should really have it's eye on the prize at this point as this team was picked early on to be in exactly the spot they are in here. Kansas is past their biggest hump, Self was 3-8 in the Elite Eight before crushing Miami with big second half. Kansas needs only to keep it's composure, not get into foul trouble, and shoot halfway decent and grind this Nova team down and win by ten. |
04-01-22 | Golden Knights -160 v. Seattle Kraken | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 22 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Vegas Golden Knights This is the second game of a home ice back-to-back, makeups for the games lost during the pandemic. Vegas won the first game 3-0 with rookie Logan Thomson notching his first shutout. The VGK has decimated by injuries all year long but have slowly but surely working starters back into the lineup. Possibly most importantly, the Golden Knight can play six (three pairs) of front line defensemen. Vegas is also starting to get some timely scoring from the players that need to score. We likely won't see a shutout here but 3-1 or 4-2 sounds about right. |
04-01-22 | Pacers v. Celtics -14.5 | 123-128 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Boston Celtics Laying double-digits in the NBA in any spot is not a long term recipe for success but in this particular matchup, consider this .... The Pacers have lost five straight, including their last two road games by 30 and 40 points. Boston has ben the hottest team in the NBA the last 60 days and actually clawed its way to the top of the Eastern Conference before getting dinged by injuries. Big man Robert Williams is out until the playoffs but the guards Brown and Tatum are back and won't be abused with lots of minutes in games like these. This is the perfect spot for the Celts to get their Mojo back and they will. Boston 122-93. |
04-01-22 | Fresno State -2.5 v. Coastal Carolina | 85-74 | Win | 100 | 18 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S FRESNO/COASTAL BASKETBALL CLASSIC FINAL SUPER PLAY winner is on the Fresno State Bulldogs Fresno State reminds you of a team from the 50s, walk it up, work it around for a shot, control the offensive and defensive boards, and play defense. The Bulldogs are tough and physical and it works. Coastal Carolina is similar to Fresno State in many ways but here's the difference .... the Chants are 19-13 and just 6-4 outside the Sunbelt vs. D-I opponents playing the No.224 schedule in the country. Fresno State went 12-3 outside the Mountain West playing the No.124 strength of schedule in the country. This is going to be slow down defensive game in the 50s or low 60s. Fresno State 65-57. |
03-31-22 | Lakers v. Jazz -11.5 | 109-122 | Win | 100 | 22 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Utah Jazz Lebron has already been ruled out for tonight and Anthony Davis is expected back no earlier than the weekend. That leaves the Lake Show with little to confront this slumping Jazz outfit. Lakers enter a hornet's nest here after the Jazz blew a 25 point third quarter lead and lost straight up to a banged up Clipper team with Paul George playing his first game in three months. Looking for a focused Jazz team to run the Lakers out here and twist the knife in the second half. |
03-31-22 | Blackhawks v. Panthers -1.5 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 19 h 52 m | Show
DMACK's THURS NHL PLAY OF THE DAY winner is the Florida Panthers Puckline The Panthers are co-leaders in the NHL in points and steady as she goes at 7-2-1 L10. Florida has scored 271 goals, 16 more than No.2 Colorado and 34 more than No.3 Edmonton. The Blackhawk goaltending has been horrific and Chicago just doesn't have the firepower to keep up. The teams have met once this year with Florida winning 5-2. Betting the puck line to mitigate the damage of playing a -350 favorite with this type of edge offense vs defense. Florida 6-3. |
03-31-22 | Xavier +4.5 v. Texas A&M | 73-72 | Win | 100 | 20 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S XAVIER/TEX A&M NIT FINAL SUPER PLAY winner is on the Xavier Musketeers Texas A&M is 12-1 L13 and the team in the tournament with a chip in it's shoulder for getting left out of the big dance. The Aggies are playing great defense with the strange dichotomy of being No.8 in offensive rebounding but No.340 in defensive rebounding. Xavier is the team in the tournament on a mission winning all four of their games handily and after closing their Big East schedule 2-8. The Muskies are averaging better than 75 ppg. and figure to do some business here. Xavier is 14-1 outside the Big East and with an extra four points, get a solid call here. |
03-30-22 | Golden Knights -163 v. Seattle Kraken | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 14 h 46 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDNESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PIK VGK bounced back from their 0-5 roadie with two improbable wins in The Fortress. The Knights are desperate, ... if the playoffs started tonight, they'd be out so there is urgency in every game as some teams in front and just behind have games in hand. The Knights have suffered from injuries all year but help has returned (Alec Martinez) and help is on the way (Pacioretty, Lehner) so things are good for now. The Kraken have been and overall huge disappointment and are the the third worst team to bet in hockey, down a tic below 16 units. The Krak have played the VGK tough but talent and urgency rules the night here. Vegas 5-3. |
03-30-22 | Mavs -4.5 v. Cavs | 120-112 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NBA PLA OF THE DAY winner is on the Dallas Mavs You have to feel some for the Cavaliers who had a chance to win the Eastern Conference even two weeks ago but have been rife with injuries that have taken their toll. Help is on the way but key pieces like Jarrett Allen will need another 10 days and likely be a go just before the playoffs. Not the best of spots for Dallas off home win last night, travel, and now mid-level road fave here. Dallas is VERY good right now just a game out of third behind Golden State. Certainly worth the effort to pass the Warriors which would mean a second matchup with Memphis as opposed to Phoenix. Dallas didn't expend much energy (up 29 after three quarters) last night and would really have no excuse here if their heads on straight. Dallas 114-104. |
03-29-22 | Lakers v. Mavs -11.5 | 110-128 | Win | 100 | 19 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Dallas Mavericks The Lakers are in complete free fall and Kareem and Magic are not walking in the door anytime soon. In fact, Lebron will likely not go and Anthony Davis (who has been cleared to practice) is still likely a few games away. Dallas is a robust 26-12 at home and should name their score here with the La Las playing no defense. It would take 50 by Lebron and tear gas on the defensive end to somehow scratch out a win here. In fact, Dallas has the toughest SOS (strength of schedule) the rest of the way. Better than 50/50 shot that the Lake Show might not even get wildcard game. |
03-29-22 | Maple Leafs v. Bruins -124 | 6-4 | Loss | -124 | 12 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Boston Bruins Boston and Toronto have identical 41-19-5 records for 87 points and trail Tampa Bay by just a point for the two-hole in a very competitive Atlantic Division. The key here is home ice. At 17-12-3, the Leafs are basically a .500 team on the road while Boston is a dominating 20-10-2. The Bruins have flicked the switch and have won four straight and are 8-1-1 L10. Haven't seen a bad effort by the Bruins in some time and don't expect one here. Boston 4-2. |
03-28-22 | Southern Utah +8 v. Fresno State | 48-67 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 4 m | Show
DMACK's BASKETBALL CLASSIC SUPER PLAY winner is on the Southern Utah T-Birds Fresno State plays the 3rd SLOWEST tempo in the country and the Bulldogs prefer playing physical greasy games in the 50s, not very conducive to covering almost double-digit points, especially against a team that can put the ball in the hole like Southern Utah. Both teams are in the Top 16 in the country is defensive rebounding so it figures to be lots of one and done. Fresno hasn't played since last Weds, Southern Utah Tues and Saturday and each spot has pros and cons. Looking for a low scoring game in the high 50s or low 60s and decided by a couple of possessions late. Take Southern Utah. |
03-28-22 | Sabres v. Blackhawks OVER 6 | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 15 h 54 m | Show
DMACK'S MON NHL SUPER TOTAL winner is on the Sabres and Blackhawks OVER Neither of these teams are going anywhere and neither of these two teams can keep the puck out of the net. Buffalo stormed back against the Rangers last night before falling 5-4 in OT, the Blackhawks led Vegas 3-0 after a period. Vegas got all three back in the first five minutes of the second, and also lost 5-4 in overtime. Can't see anything other than an up-and-down score fest here. Even money and no hook attached makes this impossible to ignore. Seventh goal wins and that is very much doable. |
03-28-22 | Celtics +3.5 v. Raptors | 112-115 | Win | 100 | 14 h 0 m | Show
DMACK'S MONDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Boston Celtics Both these teams are among the hottest in the NBA with Boston 9-1 L10 and Toronto 8-2 L10. The Celtics have steamrolled their way to the top of the Eastern Conference and are thumping people along the way. Interesting dynamics here as this is the second of B2B for the Celts who crushed a pretty good Minnesota team last night. Jayson Tatum and big man Robert Williams are nursing sore knees but neither played substantial minutes last night and with just seven games to play and home court throughout the Eastern Conference and Toronto just four games back in the loss column, won't permit Boston to use this game as a throwaway. Grabbing an extra bonus five points expecting Boston to take care of business. |
03-27-22 | Jazz v. Mavs -2.5 | 100-114 | Win | 100 | 12 h 2 m | Show
DMACK'S JAZZ/MAVS NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Dallas Mavs The Jazz got off to a fast start this year but bouts of injuries and Covid have left them middle of the pack in the Western Conference. The Jazz and Mavs are both 45-29 and 4-5 in the West with eight games to play and a first round home court on the line. Both teams are night and day better at home so that deciding game would be huge, especially if these two play each other. Like the Mavs here as they've had a big second half despite treading water the last ten games. Utah is a pedestrian 19-18 away from Salt Lake and has lost three straight. Not sure the Jazz are good enough to just flip the switch. Dallas 113-102. |
03-27-22 | Miami-FL +6 v. Kansas | 50-76 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S MIAMI/KANSAS ELITE EIGHT SUPER PLAY is on the Miami Hurricanes The Jayhawks are the last ONE standing in the tournament but not for lack of trying to go home early. Kansas has not played well and and only the good fortune of softies advancing in their bracket has saved them. The Canes play great defense, rebound the ball well, and have shot 57% from inside the arc in their four games. They've been involved in close games and mind boggling come backs all year. We'll grab the six still knowing the Miami still has a BIG chance to win straight up. |
03-26-22 | Bryan Barberena v. Matt Brown -110 | 1-0 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 7 m | Show
DMACK UFC COLUMBUS 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is Matt Brown Both these fighters are savages and this fight has instant classic possibilities. Both fighters are UFC OGs and expect both fighters to leave it in the octagon. Matt Brown said at the presser that he wants a new eight-fight deal which will take him to age 45. Brown has power in both hands but cutting people up with elbows is his specialty. Barberena has been stopped several time in his career and will likely get starched in the third round by "The Immortal" Matt Brown. |
03-26-22 | Bucks v. Grizzlies | 102-127 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 9 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT BUCKS/GRIZZ NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Milwaukee Bucks Both teams are playing great, the Grizz even without Ja Morant. Both teams are 8-2 L10 but while Memphis, barring meltdown, looks to be locked in the Western Conference two hole .... Milwaukee, after a slow start, is in perfect position to win the East. Other than some minor dings, the Bucks are as healthy as they have been all year and it couldn't be happening at a more opportune time. Milwaukee is just 20-15 on the road but only Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Memphis have done better. Urgency is with a red-hot Buck team and we like them to prevail here in this pick'em showdown. |

03-26-22 | Marc Diakiese v. Viacheslav Borshchev -145 | 1-0 | Loss | -145 | 17 h 36 m | Show
DMACK UFC COLUMBUS 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is Slava Borshchev Diakiese is so well put together that he looks like a lab experiment BUT ... that hasn't stopped him from losing three of five with his limited weapons and few and far ways to win. "Slavaclaws" is a talented all around fighter who is excellent on his feet as a grappler and an elite on the mat technician. Slava could take Diakiese down and ride him out in all three rounds but this guy will work for a finish and get it sometime in the third round. |
03-26-22 | Canucks v. Stars -135 | 4-1 | Loss | -135 | 10 h 25 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NIGHT NHL PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Dallas Stars Dallas made some moves at the trade deadline that has given them a jumpstart, and the Stars has played themselves back into the playoff race with three straight wins. The key pickups included goaltending which is much improved. Vancouver has been treading water but still has a long way to go and a lot of teams to jump to even manage a sniff at a playoff spot. Dallas is 21-8-1 on home ice and keeps current run going here. |
03-26-22 | Houston -2.5 v. Villanova | 44-50 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S HOUSTON/VILLANOVA ELITE EIGHT SUPER PLAY Villanova is rolling at the right time like they almost always do but the Cats are up against a very good Houston team. The Cougars are big, athletic, physical, talented and deep which gives Kelvin Sampson's bunch a big edge here as Nova basically goes seven deep. Houston rebounds slightly less than 40% of their misses and owns the No.3 FG% defense in the country. Houston by 10. |
03-26-22 | Luis Saldana v. Bruno Souza -120 | 1-0 | Loss | -120 | 13 h 24 m | Show
DMACK UFC COLUMBUS 3-FIGHT POWER PACK winner is Bruno Souza Saldana opened as favorite but the odds have flipped. Saldana, a well known gasser, not getting much love at the window making us think we're on the right side. Souza lost his UFC debut, taking a fight on short notice but having his moments. An impressive performance for Souza here make thinks right. Souza by third round stoppage. |
03-25-22 | Iowa State v. Miami-FL -3 | 56-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 27 m | Show
DMack's Friday Sweet 16 Super Play is on the Miami Hurricanes Iowa State has been doing it with smoke and mirrors. The Cyclones have scored 41-59-54 points in their last three games but have gotten by on tenacious defense that has caused turnovers in 24.7% of their opponents possessions. Miami is a gritty team with a gritty coach an their last five games have been decided by four points or less with the Canes often coming from way back to win. Iowa State is just 10-10 versus teams in the top 50 (Miami No.44) and is 14-0 versus non-conf opponents but the strength of that schedule is No.328 of 358. Clones face to much here. Miami 63-52. |
03-25-22 | Mavs v. Wolves -3 | 95-116 | Win | 100 | 8 h 35 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Minnesota T-Wolves These teams met four days ago in Dallas (Monday), with the Mavs winning 110-108 (-3.5). Dallas led by double-digits most of the fourth quarter, finally holding off a late Minnesota rally. The T-Wolves are a completely different animal at home where they are 24-13 and still on the improve with a big second half. Like Minnesota to turn the tables here and come away with an 8-10 point win. |
03-24-22 | Predators +100 v. Golden Knights | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Nashville Predators The Golden Knights have been decimated with injuries and are now also battling Covid again. They're 3-7 L10 and are off back-to-back shutout losses for the first time in the franchise's existence. Nashville by contrast is 7-3 L10 and have been surging in the second half. The Preds will be a bit salty here after getting spanked by the Kings 48 hours ago and take it out on an undermanned VGK team tonight. |
03-24-22 | Texas Tech -115 v. Duke | 73-78 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS TEXAS TECH/DUKE SWEET 16 SUPER PLAY winner is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders If we're right, this will be the last roundup for Coach K. Duke is 30-6 on Coach K's farewell tour , 16-3 L19 overall but we can't disregard the Blue Devils blowups in K's home finale or in the ACC tournament loss to Virginia Tech. Duke is just 7-8 in this round since 2000. Texas Tech is 27-9 on the year against the No.15 toughest strength of schedule while Duke played the No.64th. The Red Raiders are 11-3 in this tournament the last four years so the Raiders so win and advance. Tech is either pick or -1 depending on the out so we'll just split the difference here and use the moneyline and call the for Texas Tech to win. |
03-24-22 | Flyers v. Blues -1.5 | 5-2 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the St Louis Blue Puckline The Flyers are just 7-17-4 on enemy ice and will be with suitcase most of their final 20 games as the play out the string. St. Louis is just 3-4-3 L10 but home tonight where the Blues are 20-7-4 and dominant versus bottom feeders and players alike. The Blues are fourth in the NHL in goal differential and get the perfect team to beat up here. |
03-24-22 | Senators v. Jets UNDER 6 | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Senator/Jets UNDER The Jets have played themselves back into the fringe of the playoffs, primarily on the back of goalie Connor Hellebuyck who given the circumstances, has played great. He's off a shutout of Vegas and faces at Ottawa team that is 31st out of 32 teams in goals scored. The Jets offense has sputtered as well and in that win two nights ago vs. VGK went the first 15 minutes of the game without a shot on goal. Play the UNDER. |
03-24-22 | Japan +165 v. Australia | 2-0 | Win | 165 | 4 h 58 m | Show
DMACK'S FIFA WC QUALIFYING GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on Japan Analysis to follow |
03-23-22 | Washington State v. BYU -1.5 | 77-58 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NIT SUPER PLAY winner is on the BYU Cougars Washington State has gone on a nice run to end the season but the fact remains that the Cougars lost 14 games this year and the last team they played close to this level, they lost by double-digits. Wazzou upset a top-seeded SMU in last and it's time for Cinderella to call it a night. BYU has rolled it's first two NIT opponents and has a long history of playing well in this tournament. Washington State getting a bit to much respect here and BYU is the right side in this Battle of the Cougars. |
03-23-22 | Nets -1 v. Grizzlies | 120-132 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Brooklyn Nets Urgency is certainly with the Nets here who have done their best work on road (22-15) with Kyrie Irving in the lineup. The Nets are in a four-way scramble in the Eastern Conference wildcard mix and every game will count as we head down the stretch. Memphis' big run has lifted the Grizz to second place in the West, a full two games ahead of struggling Golden State. Ja Morant has a sore knee and will be a game time decision tonight but likely out as evidenced by the line move. Memphis is formidable even without Morant but expect to see a focused and determined Nets team that rally needs these games. Nets 108-102. |
03-22-22 | Seattle Kraken v. Coyotes -105 | 4-2 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 43 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES NHL ICE PIK winner is on the Arizona Coyotes The Kraken are 20-38-6. 8-20-3 on the road. The Kraken are 3-5-2 L10 and basically playing out the string of a disappointing inaugural season. Arizona has also had a horrific season put has put together it's best hockey of the year over it's L11 (7-4) games. Looking for the Coyotes to continue their uptick in play with a win here as Arizona looks to put something positive together heading into next year. The Coyotes have won both prior meetings this year, 5-4 on this ice early, and 5-2 in Seattle on February 9th. Arizona completes the season sweep here. |
03-22-22 | St Bonaventure +3.5 v. Virginia | 52-51 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES BONNIE/UVa NIT SUPER PLAY winner is on Saint Bonaventure The Bonnie got off to a very fast start and struggled somewhat on the backend of their A-10 schedule, still finishing 12-5 before losing to St Louis by a point in the A-10 tournament. Bonnie has stepped up to this point in the NIT, dispatching top-seeded Oklahoma after stopping a good Colorado team in their opener. Virginia does not have a lot of offense and we see a close, low-scoring game decided in the final 60 second so the points in this case are not insignificant. Saint Bonaventure 58-55. |
03-21-22 | Wolves v. Mavs -3 | 108-110 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 31 m | Show
DMACK'S MON NBA PLAY OF THE DAY (WOLVES/MAVS) The Wolves are 9-1 L10 and a game and a half behind Dallas for the five hole in the West with Minnesota having a game in hand. The Mavs are two games behind Utah for fourth in the West and a the final home court in the West so this game has serious playoff implications. Like Dallas here as both teams are extremely Home-Court-Centric and is especially telling for Dallas. The Mavs are 7-3 L10 but have lost two straight but figure to be at their best here. Dallas won the only meeting this year 114-102 on this floor and meet again on Friday at the Target Center. Karl-Anthony Townes is questionable at this writing which will have large impact on the number closer to game time so it's important to do your due diligence. |
03-20-22 | Texas v. Purdue -3 | 71-81 | Win | 100 | 15 h 24 m | Show
DMACK'S TEXAS/PURDUE LATE SHOW SUPER PLAY winner is on the Purdue Boilermakers Texas had lost three straight prior to first round over Virginia Tech, this first win in the first round of the Big Dance is six years. The Longhorns needed an unconscious 10-19 from downtown to beat the Hokies and a follow up performance is not likely. Purdue is 25-0 when it scores 70 points or more and 3-7 when it doesn't. That doesn't figure to be a problem here with an offense that is No.3 in the country in FG% made. See this as an up and down affair with Purdue winning by 8-10 in the end. |
03-20-22 | Coyotes +190 v. Sharks | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Arizona Coyotes The Coyotes only have 20 wins on the year by 7 of them have come over their L10 games. The Desert Dogs have been extremely impressive on enemy ice and have scored 27 goals in their last five outside the Grand Canyon State. The Sharks are 3-5-2 L10 and have lost three straight. This week, several of their stars got paid but it's painfully obvious that San Jose has mailed it in. Like Arizona's fight and the Coyotes are close to escaping the Western Conference cellar and with a couple of breaks, could play themselves out of the bottom of the Central Division bottom. A sweet +190 with a an ugly but VERY live dog. |
03-20-22 | Suns -10.5 v. Kings | 127-124 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Phoenix Suns We've had a lot of success playing the Suns from time to time and why not ??? They are tons the best (at least in record) in the NBA and have the highest point differential in the league, outscoring their opponents by a tick less than 10 ppg. In today's matchup with Sacramento we find a Kings team that has given up 126-135-112-135. The Matador defense is not going to work against the defending Western Conference champions and a smoke job something in the line of 128-107 is possible and likely here. Play it with the Suns. |
03-20-22 | Brentford v. Leicester +125 | 1-2 | Win | 125 | 6 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S EPL GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on Leicester City Leicester City has had a tough year battling injuries and now a season that started off with so much promise has become a year of staying clear of the relegation zone. Fortunately for the Foxes, they've snapped a long winless drought with a couples of victories over cellar dwelling Burnley and Leeds and appear to be safe as they have 2-3 games in hand on the rest of the table. Brentford is in a similar situation which would be even more precarious if not for recent wins over Burnley and Norwich. Since their unprecedented run to the title in 2016, Leicester has had a M.O. of maximizing points against exactly teams like Brentford. 3-1 Foxes. |
03-19-22 | Memphis v. Gonzaga -10 | 78-82 | Loss | -104 | 19 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT ROUND OF 32 BIG DANCE GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on Gonzaga Memphis and Gonzaga are similar in may ways but in the end, the Zags are the substantially better team. Penny Hardaway has don a nice job at Memphis considering all the garbage he's been through and for the most part, gets some pretty good talented athletes. That said, this version of the Tigers turns the ball over almost 23% of their possessions and that just won't work against the No.1 FG% defense in the country and a team that makes 60.8% of its shots inside the arc. The Zags hadn't played in eight days prior to their first round game so we'll give them a mulligan for their first round game, as if they needed it scoring 58 points in the second half. Memphis has been beaten by margin versus Houston and other teams so it won't be a fluke here. Gonzaga 78-60. |
03-19-22 | Rice v. Ohio -5.5 | 64-65 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 18 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT RICE/OHIO CBI SUPER PLAY winner is on the Ohio Bobcats Rice is building for next year by getting some experience here. The Owls were 16-16 overall, 7-11 in Conference USA and most importantly just 4-8 in true road games. Ohio finished 24-9 and 14-6 in the MAC. The games is being played in Daytona Beach so it's a neutral site where the big physical Bobcat front court should be able to do some business Ohio can score and are better than average on defense, especially against this kind. Ohio 68-57. |
03-19-22 | Maple Leafs -118 v. Predators | 3-6 | Loss | -118 | 17 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT NIGHT NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Toronto Maple Leafs The Leafs are 6-3-1 L10 and have won two straight, beating Chicago and Carolina without leading scorer Auston Mathews who was serving a two-game suspension. His return adds 45 goals and 32 assists to an already potent offense that has climbed to within a point of Tampa Bay for second in the Atlantic Division. Nashville is a nice team but doesn't have the firepower to hang here if Toronto is hitting on all cylinders. Toronto 4-2. |
03-19-22 | Tom Aspinall -122 v. Alexander Volkov | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 47 h 4 m | Show
DMack's UFC Fight Night 204 3-Pack winner is on Tom Aspinall Alexander Volkov is a massive man at 6'6" and the full 265. He's 4-3 L7 but the losses are to Lewis, Blaydes, and Gani. The wins include Overeem and Arlovski so he's been in with just about the entire Top Ten. Tom Aspinall is 6'5" and 250 himself so he won't be bullied he's 11-2 and 4-0 in UFC as he works his way up the rankings. Aspinall is a savage with his four fights totaling just 11 minutes and three quick first round KOs. Aspinall is the better fighter and our main concern is Volkov hanging around and the fight going 25 minutes, uncharted territory for the pick. Should be bombs by both men early. |
03-19-22 | Makwan Amirkhani v. Mike Grundy -180 | 1-0 | Loss | -180 | 43 h 5 m | Show
DMack's UFC Fight Night 204 3-Pack winner is on Mike Gundy Mike Gundy is a reasonably successful Brit freestyle wrestler who won Bronze in the Pam American Games in 2014. He's had marginal success in MMA at 12-3 but is on a two-fight losing streak, dropping razor tight decisions to journeyman fighters. He's on the card for local appeal as he is a Londoner and was given a relatively soft touch here in Makwan Amirkhani who is famous for gassing late in fights. This fight opened at Gundy -135 and went to -180 in a blink early so the betting public that pays attention is probably thinking what we are, Gundy by late stoppage. |
03-19-22 | Paul Craig +170 v. Nikita Krylov | 1-0 | Win | 170 | 44 h 34 m | Show
DMack's UFC Fight Night 204 3-Pack winner is on Paul Craig Was floored when I saw this line. Krylov is a good enough fighter but he's 2-3 with losses to Glover, Blachowicz and Ankalaev and a wins over Johnny Walker and Ovince Saint Preux. Paul Craig is a Scotsman who found his MoJo about two years ago and is 4-0-1 in his last five fights. His momentum was curtailed somewhat when he was supposed to headline with Alexander Gustafsson in September but was canceled after a late injury to Gustafsson. Craig is well though of and has good power in both hands and an excellent BJJ (black belt) game if it goes to the mat. This will make our night. |
03-18-22 | Colgate v. Wisconsin -7.5 | 60-67 | Loss | -110 | 43 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S FRI ROUND OF 64 LATE SHOW BAILOUT winner is on the Wisconsin Badgers Colgate has won 15 straight games but beating up Patriot League opposition doesn't win you any points here. In fact, the Raiders went 4-9 outside the the Patriot and face a big physical Badger team here that is tough on the defensive boards and pounds the ball inside. Wisky was 24-7 this year versus the No.19 toughest schedule in the country and get the perfect confidence builder here after dropping their final two Big Ten games (Nebraska and Michigan State). The Badgers have had a week to sort things out and beat up Colgate here. |
03-18-22 | Bruins -119 v. Jets | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is on the Boston Bruins The Bruins were thumped at Minnesota 48 hours ago but no shame there as the Wild own one of the strongest home ice in the NHL. Boston was 5-1 in prior six and are a rock solid 19-9-3. Winnipeg is running on fumes in their playoff chase. The Jets are off a nice 7-3 over VGK but remember that the Knights went 0-5 on their last road trip and have gotten letting to know offense to help a struggling offense. Boston is a veteran ultra-professional outfit that knows how to take care of business and wins here. |
03-18-22 | Lakers v. Raptors -8.5 | 128-123 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 37 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NBA 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Toronto Raptors The Raptors went through a tough two week period at the end of February with nagging minor injuries and issues but the Barneys are for the most part healthy now and the cavalry (Anunoby and Malachi Flynn) days away and certainly back for the playoffs. They've won five straight and face a Laker team that has lost three straight by double-digits with starters Lebron (knee) and Horton-Tucker game time decisions. The Laker have abandoned defense and just don't have the firepower to trade points with teams with Lebron less than 100%. Toronto 114-96. |
03-18-22 | Wizards v. Knicks -4.5 | 97-100 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NBA 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the NY Knicks Both teams have had disappointing seasons but while Washington has shut down its best player Bradley Beal and has been making tee-times for weeks, Tibs still has the Knicks playing as hard and at least giving an effort nightly. The Wiz have lost five straight by 18-14-9-13-6. The Knicks play 9 of their final 12 at home and owe the MSG faithful wins against teams like this after going 14-19 on its home floor to this point. Knicks 118-107. |
03-18-22 | Blazers v. Nets -13 | 123-128 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 9 m | Show
DMACK'S FRIDAY NBA 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Brooklyn Nets Brooklyn has very little margin for error with 12 games left in the regular season. They are starting to play somewhat better but in a round-robin with Charlotte and Atlanta in the one and done part of the playoffs before an eventual meeting with Miami or Milwaukee. Portland has mailed it in. The Blazers are 1-4 L5 with losses of 30-9-38-43 and not much to do about other hope they hit Power Ball with 6-10 pick in the NBA Draft. Nets 126-104. |
03-18-22 | Virginia Tech +1.5 v. Texas | 73-81 | Loss | -115 | 37 h 20 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Virginia Tech Hokies The Longhorns limped in here losing their L3 games and averaging just 61 points per game. Texas has a ton of talent but hasn't been able to find much consistency for any length of time. The Hokies found themselves after the first of the year and their demolition of Duke in the ACC championship game was not a fluke. V Tech closed ACC on a 13-2 run and their wing players are just snipers from the outside burying 39.7% of their threes (No.3) and will do some damage here. The Gobblers straight up by 8-10. |
03-18-22 | Miami-FL v. USC -1.5 | 68-66 | Loss | -110 | 40 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S ROUND OF 64 GAME OF THE YEAR winner is the USC Trojans Miami has had a nice year for veteran for Jim Larranaga but the Hurricanes are one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the tournament and there were only four team of the 358 Division-I teams that used their bench LESS than the Canes. Over the last four national tournaments, ACC teams are 7-23 in the first round. USC has lost three of its last four but they were to UCLA twice and Arizona. The Trojans are the No.6 best offensive rebounding team in country snagging better than 33.8% of it's misses and are No.2 defensively versus teams inside the arc. Pac 12 teams are 7-0 ATS in this round over the last two years and will be tough to beat here. USC is our Round of 64 Game of the Year. |
03-18-22 | Yale v. Purdue -15.5 | 56-78 | Win | 100 | 35 h 38 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Purdue Boilermakers Despite winning the Ivy this year, this Yale outfit is not as good as some of the Eli teams from even five years ago. The Bulldogs were 0-5 against Top 100 teams and check out these losses .... 36 to Seton Hall, 22 to Auburn, 27 to St Mary's. Purdue is very big and a load in the paint. The Boilers were No.4 in the country in FG% made and are a perfect 24-0 when they score 70+ points. Purdue will score 70+ here and easily cover this double-digit number. |
03-18-22 | Loyola-Chicago +1 v. Ohio State | 41-54 | Loss | -115 | 33 h 33 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers Ohio State lost four of five down the stretch and looked to be completely out of sync. The Buckeyes don't play much defense inside and today face a disciplined and deliberate Loyola team that is No.7 in the country in FG% made. What the Ramblers lack in talent and athleticism, they make up with smarts, awareness, and coaching and they have 102-year-old Super Fan Sister Jean. Chicago-Loyola moves on. |
03-17-22 | Texas Southern v. Kansas -21.5 | 56-83 | Win | 100 | 23 h 21 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks The Southern Tigers started the year 0-7 in non-conference play and went 14-2 down the stretch in a VERY weak conference. If you watched the "Play-In" game, you saw the poor quality of play and Southern was down most of the way against Corpus Christi. Kansas has won five straight against good Big 12 teams and can win by 40 if they want. Kansas is 4-1-1 in their L6 first round games against teams like this. Kansas 94-57. |
03-17-22 | Panthers -135 v. Golden Knights | 3-5 | Loss | -135 | 19 h 51 m | Show
DMACK's 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Florida Panthers Florida is a killer but that fact is that the Panthers are 26-6 at home and 15-7-6 on the road, essentially .500 at 15-13. That's going to work for us in several ways tonight and we play the side and the total. The Knights come off an 0-5 roadie and despite having the second easiest schedule in the league down the stretch, for the first time in the franchises brief history, the Knights will be life and death to make the playoffs. The VGK goaltending has been awful and the offense produced just 9 goals on this recent five-game whitewash. The Knights have always had a problem scoring and have had nothing late scoring just 10 goals in the third period of their last 15 games. For sure you will see a top notch effort here by the home team on it's home ice but if you don't have the horses ....... Florida 3-2. |
03-17-22 | Panthers v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 48 m | Show
DMACK's 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Florida/VGK UNDER Florida is a killer but that fact is that the Panthers are 26-6 at home and 15-7-6 on the road, essentially .500 at 15-13. |||||||
03-17-22 | Akron v. UCLA -13.5 | 53-57 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 16 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS BIG DANCE LATE SHOW BAIL OUT winner is on the UCLA BRUINS On face this probably looks like a lot of points. Looking closer, we find the Zips starting the year as the 321st most experienced team in Division-I t at the start of the year. Akron's chief form of offense is getting to the foul line. This Akron's first appearance on this stage since 2013. This is where UCLA ramped things up last year for a big run. Pac12 teams are 7-0 ATS in this round the last two years and UCLA has made the Sweet 16 in four of their last five tournaments. The Bruins went 8-2 down the stretch with both losses to Arizona, giving the Wildcats all they wanted in the Pac12 final. This is an all-in tournament for UCLA and you will see their best from here on out. UCLA by 20. |

03-17-22 | Islanders v. Rangers -130 | 2-1 | Loss | -130 | 15 h 19 m | Show
DMACK's 3-GAME NHL POWER PACK winner is on the NY RANGERS This is actually the biggest rivalry in New York. It's not the Yankees/Mets, Jets/Giants, or Kicks/Nets. The Islanders are just 10-12-5 on enemy ice (effectively 10-17) and just had their hearts torn out in a seven round 4-3 SO loss at the Caps. The Rangers are 20-5-3 at the Mecca, Madison Square Garden and will have this year's likely Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin (29-7-3) between the pipes here with his 2.07 GAA and .938 save percentage. Take the sweater off the Islanders and you're talker about the Broadway Blues being 50-75 cent favorites here. Rangers find a way to win. |

03-17-22 | Marquette v. North Carolina -3.5 | 63-95 | Win | 100 | 17 h 13 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the North Carolina Tar Heels Marquette is getting a whole lot of respect for a team that went 4-6 in their L10 down the stretch and lost 12 games overall this year. The North Carolina that beat Duke in Coach K's final home game than the Duke blowout the first time around. Shaka Smart is 0-5 in the first round since 2014 after a big run with VCU. Big East teams are also 6-13-1 L20 in this round. Since 2000, UNC is 17-1 in this round and is CLEARLY the better team here. North Carolina wins by double-digits. |
03-17-22 | Norfolk State v. Baylor -20.5 | 49-85 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Baylor Bears The defending champs will be looking to start their defense in a big way. They get the perfect touch here tonight in Norfolk State. The Bears played six games against teams outside the Ken Palm 150 (Norfolk No.168) and Baylor went 6-0 winning all six by 29+ points. The Spartans have played two top 100 teams and lost by 40 to Xavier and by 13 to Wichita State. Baylor won't abuse their starters but the reserves could probably win by 20. Baylor rolls. |
03-16-22 | Notre Dame v. Rutgers +1.5 | 89-87 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 56 m | Show
DMACK'S NOTRE DAME/RUTGERS SUPER PLAY is on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Neither team has played all that well of late which is why they've been relegated to a "Play-In" game. Rutgers went on a six-game winning streak in early February but finished 2-4 losing a number of close games down the stretch. Notre Dame split it's L6 but that was still good enough to finish third in a VERY down year in the ACC. This is Notre Dame's first trip to The Dance in five years. Rutgers won a game last in it's first Dance since 1991. Since 2015, Big Ten teams are 32-11 straight up in the first round and as we all know, guard play wins this time of year. The Knights will have the best player on the floor in Ron Harper Jr. Rutgers 68-62. |
03-16-22 | Suns -11 v. Rockets | 129-112 | Win | 100 | 15 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Phoenix Suns The Suns are going to finish with the best record in the NBA and despite the fact that they've basically lost Chris Paul until the playoff and Devin Booker for 10 days to Covid, Phoenix is deep enough and talented enough to pretty much trounce anyone in their way. Not the optimum spot here with Suns laying double-digits on the road and playing their third game in four nights BUT ..... Phoenix expended little energy in dispatching the Lakers by 29 and the Pelicans by 16 last night. Houston has the worst record in the NBA and has lost three of four with the losses coming by 25-13-17. The Suns should cruise and the bench should get plenty of time. |
03-16-22 | Lakers v. Wolves -8 | 104-124 | Win | 100 | 15 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Minnesota T-Wolves The Lakers are 2-8 in their L10 games and they haven't won since the All-Star Game when LeBron did NOT score at least 50 points. Minnesota on the other hand is 8-2 and has been rolling teams of late. Minnesota has won four of five with wins by 10-9-30-43 and beat the Lakers by 18 earlier in the year on this floor. Minnesota continues hot play here. |
03-16-22 | Blue Jackets v. Senators UNDER 6.5 | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 15 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDNESDAY NHL ICE PICK winner is Columbus/Ottawa UNDER Using the matchup much more than any flow of current form. These two have met twice this year and the results were 2-1 and 3-2 and hard fought tight checking game. Columbus is much improved but it's chief fault has been not finding the back of the net on the road. Ottawa has played great defensive hockey facing this kind of opponent (lacking firepower) and the Sens would just assume get into a tight checking street fight where they play their best. Six and a hook is impossible to pass up here. NHL now 115-75 off 2-1 night last night. Expect to win. |
03-16-22 | 76ers -3.5 v. Cavs | 118-114 | Win | 100 | 14 h 7 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NBA POWER PACK winner is on the Philadelphia 76ers The 76ers look to rebound off a four-point loss to Denver in a game that they dominated throughout but folded badly late. Philly has actually played so much better since acquiring James Harden and they'll only get better with more games under their belt. The Cavs have had a nice year and have plenty of good young guard talent but took a big hit in the paint losing their anchor Jarrett Allen to finger surgery for about a month. Embiid dominates with impunity and Philly wins by 10. |
03-16-22 | Bryant +3.5 v. Wright State | 82-93 | Loss | -105 | 38 h 41 m | Show
DMACK'S BRYANT/WRIGHT STATE PLAY-IN SUPER PLAY winner is on the Bryant Bulldogs Anyone left at this stage is playing well, Wright State (21-13) has won five straight as they ran through the Horizon tournament. Bryant (22-9) has won 16 of 17 and granted the Bulldogs have been beating up a very weak Northeast Conference, they are not at all outmanned by the Wright State Raiders. Horizon League teams are 0-9 in the last nine years in the first round games of the Dance but never as a 16-seed. That said, we have an ultra-confident Bulldog team that has been rolling through their own kind. Wright State No.182 on Ken Palm, Bryant No.183. Bryant straight up here and we have three-points plus in our pocket. |
03-15-22 | Golden Knights v. Jets -110 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 16 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Winnipeg Jets We've been cashing ticket after ticket by playing against (fading) and injury riddled VGK. The Knights are in a tough spot as they don't score and have gotten poor goaltending from the backups to an injured Robin Lehner. The Jets are fighting for their playoff lives and have been better of late. The offense has really kicked in from the Jet snipers and Vegas just does not have the firepower to answer back. Getting better price as the undeserved Vegas bias is still in effect. |
03-15-22 | Penguins -110 v. Predators | 1-4 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Pittsburgh Penguins With less than 25 games left in the regular season, you're going to see playoff hockey down the stretch as teams jockey to make the playoffs. Both teams are in similar good form but the Pens are off two good home wins over Vegas and Carolina and are on the road here where they've done their best work. In fact, Pittsburgh is 19-10 with suitcase as opposed to 17-14 at home. Nashville torched for seven goals in last home game versus the Blues which has similar offense to the high octane Pens. |
03-15-22 | Islanders v. Capitals -151 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S TUESDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Capitals The Caps are 4-1 L5 and off a big road swing across the Pacific Northwest. The Islanders have won four of five against lesser and and all at home face a hot Cap team here with a 10-16 road record. The Caps are on the playoff bubble and sitting eighth, a minimum of three points out of seventh and all the teams in front of them with games in hand. Look for Washington to continue their hot play and cool off the home ice loving Islanders. |
03-15-22 | Texas A&M Corpus Christi v. Texas Southern -3 | 67-76 | Win | 100 | 33 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S DON'T CALL ME A PLAY-IN GAME SUPER PLAY WINNER is on Texas Southern This is a very strange game to handicap as we have two teams from the two lowest ranked conferences in Div-I, both with double-digit losses and having played the No.1 and No. 39 EASIEST schedules among 358 board teams in Division-I. There has already been a pretty substantial move on Southern right off the Git Go. I agree and this is why. The Tigers started the year as the No.3 most experienced team in the country based on returning starts. Southern accounted for the most bench minutes of any team in the country which tells me the returning starters were not very good at best. The two seem to meld in conference play with the Tigers going 13-2 down the stretch and checking in at No.13 in the country in FG% defense. Corpus Christi went 7-1 down the stretch but was 10-7 in the Southland where the Islanders finished fourth. Like Southern to win this buy double-digits |
03-14-22 | Wolves -4.5 v. Spurs | 149-139 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show
DMACK'S MON NBA PLAY OF THE DAY is on the Minnesota T-Wolves San Antonio just got Popp the all-time win record and can basically play out the season. The Spurs have numerous injuries that have left them short-handed and while still early at this writing, figure to be missing a starter in shooting forward Doug McDermott and two key roll players. Minnesota is 4-1 L5 and somehow managed to lose to Orlando while beating Miami on this current roadie. Their last four wins are by 14-43-30-9 (at Miami) so Minnesota is hitting on all cylinders and now nine games above .500. Anthony Edwards has a gimpy knee but if he is anywhere close to 100% starting the playoffs, the Wolves could be a handful as they are deep and do a lot of things well. Minnesota 122-1107. |
03-13-22 | Lakers v. Suns -8 | 111-140 | Win | 100 | 11 h 8 m | Show
DMACK'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Phoenix Suns The Lakers are struggling mightily, especially on the road. The Lake Show is 3-7 L10 and the wins coming on games that saw Lebron score 50 twice. That's not going to happen every night and Lebron is a game time decision with a sore knee. Two of three best other Lakers are also game time decisions, that being Malik Monk and Horton Tucker. The Suns are just about back to full strength and a Covid flurry that included Devin Booker. The Lakers are a possible first round opponent for the Suns in the playoffs so why not get rid of them now when the Lakers will need every win just to qualify. Phoenix 118-103. |
03-13-22 | Golden Knights v. Blue Jackets +165 | 4-6 | Win | 165 | 9 h 14 m | Show
DMACK'S NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE YEAR winner is the Columbus Blue Jackets Vegas is on the verge of a complete collapse, thanks in most part to injuries, and also the problem they've had from their first day of existence five years ago, THEY CAN'T SCORE. Vegas is 0-3 on this roadie scoring four goals combined in those three games. The real killer is that in their L13 games, the Knights have scored just eight total goals in the third period. It's getting real old to average better than 40 shots on goal a game and barely average two goals. VGK is in cap hell and wouldn't be surprised to see them blow it up before the trade deadline. Columbus has made great strides this year with a new roster featuring a lot of good kids. They play hard every night and are always a handful at Nationwide Arena. The NHL UNDERDOG GAME OF THE YEAR is on the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS. |
03-13-22 | Richmond v. Davidson -3.5 | 64-62 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S A-10 CONF CHAMPIONSHIP SUPER PLAY WINNER is on the DAVIDSON WILDCATS This is simply a question of spot. Richmond has played the last three nights to get here and was down last night by 13 with 11 minutes left. The Spiders star player (Gilyard) has played 40 minutes plus in six straight games and there can't be much in the tank. Davidson is 25-5 overall, 17-3 in the A-10 and got here in a walk winning their games by 15 and 18 points respectively. The Bobcats have won seven of eight and beat Richmond 87-84 at Richmond in early January. Davidson not surprisingly is No.7 in the country shooting threes and really has no excuse not to win by double-digits here. |
03-12-22 | CS-Fullerton v. Long Beach State -120 | 72-71 | Loss | -120 | 14 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S FULLERTON/LONG BEACH BIG WEST BAIL OUT winner is on Long Beach State This No.1 vs No.2 all year so these two are the class of the Big West and have been so all year. Long Beach State has won 16 of 18 overall and have been finding ways to win all year. The Beach is led by a senior transfer from Tulane (Slater) who had 30 of their 67 points last night and got the Niners through a 7-0 run in the final 90 seconds to beat Santa Barbara. Fullerton is a decent team that has played great defense. They weren't able to stop LBSU is their only meeting this year, a 71-64 LBSU home win February 8th. Game is pick'em/one so grabbing the 20 cent money line to just win the game. Long Beach State is the play. |
03-12-22 | Kings -130 v. Sharks | 0-5 | Loss | -130 | 21 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S SATURDAY NHL POWER PACK winner is on the Los Angeles Kings The Kings have firmly addressed the fact that they are for real and this team will not only make the playoffs but also have first-round home ice. They Kings are 7-2-1 L10 and have done their best work on enemy ice where they are a nifty 18-7-5 as opposed to 14-12-3. The Sharks started fast and are fading fast and destined to another year of early T-times. The price is certainly right. |
03-12-22 | Kings v. Jazz -10 | 125-134 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 28 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT NIGHT NBA BIG BALLER winner is on the Utah Jazz The Sacramento Kings have lost three straight and it looks like their recent housecleaning hasn't done much to improve their fortunes. They have several "game time" decisions as well so the Kings might not be entirely at full strength here. The Jazz were "Popped" at San Antonio last night but figure to bounce back here. The Jazz are already 3-0 against Sacramento this year with wins coming by 19-6-18 points. The Jazz last two wins against this type were by 38 over Portland and 16 over OKC. Utah 122-108. |
