Pittsburgh and Syracuse have been a big rivalry for years, and it comes down to the Syracuse zone, vs the X's and O's of Jaime Dixon attacking it. The heat, like most NBA #1 seeds, thrive on good offensive games, and usually come right back eith another one, espeially if it was unexpected. Number 1 seeds that score more than 108 points in their last game, when the total for that last game was under 190, meaning it was unexpected, they come back in the next game to paly 11-1 to the over. There has been no instances of less than 187 points being scored in the follow up game. Play on the over

The Memphis Grizzlies are the first team with a #5 seed or worse to get to the conference finals in a decade, and they are playing like they don't belong, down 3-0 in their series with the San Antonio Spurs. Since the 1986-87 NBA Playoffs there have been 11 teams facing a 3-0 deficit in a conference final, and 8 of the 11 have lost the game outright. More importantly in looking at the toals in these games, in the last 14 series showing a team with a 3-0 deficit in the conference finals, 11 of the 14 game 4's were either the highest scoring game, or 2nd highest scoring game of the series through the 4 games. That is represented by the fact that 6 were the highest scoring, and 5 were the 2nd highest scoring of the series, regardless of how the irst 3 played out, game 4 becomes an entirely different flow and pace, yielded by desperation. Subsequently, of the last 11 game 4's, with a team trailing 3-0, have seen 9 of the 11 play over the total. The winning team has averaged 106ppg over the last 14, despite the fact that the last 8 have played to totals of 190 or less in 6 of them. These games have show a long term tendency to play over the total, and I will follow that, and play this one over the total.

The San Antonio Spurs put on an offensive clinic in game 1, and beatmemphis badly. Was it a fluke, or is the Spurs offense that good? The answer is, it depends, and it depends on Ginobli,Parker, and Duncan all playing. The Spurs have had that trio in tact for 27 home games this season, since December 23rd. They scored at least 91 points in all of them, and failed to reach the century mark just 3 times! They averaged 107.3ppg in the 7 games, which would have been tops in the league. The Grizzlies have been a strong defensive team over the last 3 years, but that hasn't slowed down the Spurs at home where they have averaged over 101ppg against them here in 10 games the last 3 years, and higher than the average this year.
