05-14-17 | Predators v. Ducks -117 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Anaheim Ducks. The Predators won Game 1 on the road at Anaheim, just as they did in their previous two series versus Chicago and St. Louis. They swept the Blackhawks, but they lost two of three games on the road in the series versus the Blues. The Ducks will have to treat this as a must win game, while the Predators could suffer a bit of a let down, and really wouldn't be too upset to go back home with a split. Nashville was brutal on the road during the regular season, while the Ducks owned one of the best home records in the Western Conference (33-10-3). The Ducks won both their home games against Nashville during the regular season, and the home team is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams. The Ducks have proven that they can rise to the challenge, coming back from down 0-2 versus the Oilers, and winning Game 7 of that series at home after getting blown out in Game 6 in Edmonton. Expect the Ducks to be "Flying" tonight. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-14-17 | Houston Astros - Game #2 v. New York Yankees - Game #2 -114 | Top | 10-7 | Loss | -114 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the New York Yankees.
The second game of a double header will feature Mashihiro Tanaka of the Yankees, and Charlie Morton of the Astros. The Bronx Bombers are just a small favorite at home, and they've hit Morton hard in the past. Morton (4-2, 3.63 ERA) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings in a home win over Atlanta his last time out. He's 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA on the road, and so far this season he's been fortunate to have faced some of the weaker lineups in the majors. The Yankees are hitting .338 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 77 at bats versus Morton. Tanaka (5-1, 4.36 ERA) allowed four runs on 10 hits, striking out six in seven innings in a 10-4 win at Cincinnati his last time out. He's 3-0 with a 3.66 ERA in three home starts this season. The Yankees are 12-5 at Yankee Stadium so far in 2017. Take NYY. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-14-17 | Tigers -114 v. Angels | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -114 | 5 h 12 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have taken two of three games in this series versus LA, and they look good with their ace on the mound in the finale on Sunday. Justin Verlander will toe the slab for the Tigers, coming off three straight quality starts. He allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out seven over seven innings in a win at Arizona his last time out. He's owned the Angels, who are batting just .181 against him with 39 strikeouts and just 27 hits over a combined 149 at bats. The Halos hand the ball to Alex Meyer, and the rookie hasn't been missing many bats. Meyer (1-1, 7.62 ERA) allowed three runs on four hits and five walks over 5 1/3 innings in a win over Oakland his last time out. He's now walked a total of 12 batters in just 13 innings pitched in three appearances this season. J.D. Martinez will play just his third game of the season Sunday, and he's 4-for-7 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs so far. Take DET. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-14-17 | Dodgers v. Rockies UNDER 10.5 | Top | 6-9 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 48 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on LAD vs COL to go UNDER the total. The Dodgers beat the Rockies 4-0 at Coors Field last night, and I expect another pitcher's duel in Colorado this afternoon. Antonio Sentzatela will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he's pitched well in Colorado. The 22 year old allowed a pair of runs on five hits and three walks over six innings in a home win over the Cubs his last time out. He's 3-1 with a 3.12 ERA in four starts at Coors Field this season. The Dodgers hand the ball to Julio Urias, who has been dealing lately. Urias (0-0, 1.06 ERA) allowed one runs on one hit and two walks over 6 1/3 innings in a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh his last time out. The under is 8-2 in Colorado's last 10 overall. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-14-17 | Manchester United v. Tottenham Hotspur -140 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 162 h 60 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea clinched the league on Friday, and that may take a little pressure off for Spurs in their final game at White Hart Lane. Manchester United has nothing left to play for in the Premier League, and Jose Mourinho has already admitted that he won't field his best squad for this match. The Red Devils are focused on their Europa League Final match versus Ajax, and they might not provide a lot of resistance for a Spurs team that has been brilliant at home this season. Tottenham is undefeated at home, with 16 wins and just two draws in 18 matches. The Spurs have scored 34 goals and conceded just 16 in those games. They've outscored their opponent's 10-0 in their last three home matches. Take SPURS. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-12-17 | Pirates v. Diamondbacks -136 | Top | 4-11 | Win | 100 | 21 h 0 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Arizona D'Backs.
Arizona has cooled off since starting the season strong. A home series versus the Pirates should give them an opportunity to move up in the standings. Patrick Corbin will toe the slab for the D'Backs on Friday, and he loves pitching in Arizona. The left-hander is 2-1 with a 1.54 ERA in four home starts this season, and he's starting to look like the same pitcher he was prior to missing the entire 2014 season due to injury. The Pirates struggle to hit southpaws, batting just .206 versus left-handed pitching this season. Pittsburgh will hand the ball to rookie right-hander Tyler Glasnow, who hasn't been missing many bats. The 23 year old has also struggled with his command, walking 10 batters in his last 14 innings pitched. Putting men on base in Arizona might prove to be costly, and he's averaging 6.3 walks per nine innings this season. The Pirates are just 6-13 on the road, while the D'Backs are 13-6 at Chase Field. Take ARI. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-12-17 | Rays v. Red Sox -160 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -160 | 28 h 23 m | Show |
This is an 8* play on the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox are sitting 4.5 games out of first place in the AL East, and they host division rivals Tampa tonight. The Rays are only two games up on last place Toronto, and they come in as losers of four of their last five. Rick Porcello will toe the slab for the Sox, and he's coming off four consecutive quality starts. Porcello (2-4, 3.95 ERA) allowed one run on seven hits, striking out six in seven innings in an 11-1 win at Minnesota his last time out. He's 8-2 with a 3.16 ERA in his last 12 starts against the Rays, and he was 13-1 with a 2.97 ERA in 16 starts at Fenway last year. The Rays hand the ball to Alex Cobb, who has really struggled in Boston. Cobb (2-3, 3.56 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits and two walks over eight innings in a loss to Toronto his last time out. He was rocked for four runs on 11 hits in five innings in a 7-5 loss at Fenway earlier this season. Boston's lineup hasn't been fooled, hitting .311 with a pair of home runs and 10 RBIs in 90 at bats versus Cobb. The Rays have lost eight of their last 10 at Fenway. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule. |

This is a 10* play on EDM@ANA to go OVER the total.
After giving up three goals in three minutes and losing by a score of 4-3 in overtime in Game 5, the Oilers blew the doors off in a 7-1 win in Game 6. John Gibson gave up three goals on just six shots, getting pulled just eight minutes into the first period of that game. Five of the six games in this series have gone over the total, and another high scoring game seems likely here in Game 7. The over is 7-3-1 in Edmonton's last 11 road games, and they've scored a whopping 16 goals in their last three games. While we normally expect a conservative approach in an elimination game, I don't think either of these two teams wants to sit back and let the other be the aggressor. Leon Draisaitl scored three goals and two assists in Game 6, and he has nine points in the last four games of this series. Ryan Getzlaf was held off the score sheet in Game 6, but he tallied 10 points in the first five games of this series. Buckle up, Game 7 should be a real barn burner. Take OVER. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-10-17 | Real Madrid v. Atltico Madrid | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 18 h 60 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid is level on points with Spanish league rivals Barcelona, while Atletico sits 10 points back in the La Liga standings. Atletico returns home for the second leg of this Champions League tie after suffering a 3-0 loss at the Bernabeu last week. It's going to take a miracle for Atletico to advance, needing at least four goals here at home versus Los Blancos. With a comfortable three goal lead, Real Madrid can afford to be conservative. Atletico is a formidable opponent for even the toughest challengers when they play on their home pitch. They are undefeated at home in Champions League play, and 13-3-2 in their domestic league. They have registered clean sheets in six of their last 10 matches, and have scored first in seven of those games. While I don't fancy their chances of overcoming a three goal deficit, they should find a way to win this game at home. Take Atletico. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pens took a commanding 3-1 series lead by winning Game 4 of this series on home ice, but Washington has battled back with a win in Game 5 at home, forcing a Game 6 back in Pittsburgh. I had the Penguins in Game 4, and here is what I said prior to the game: "The Capitals dominated the Penguins in Pittsburgh in Game 3, but still they needed overtime to sneak away with a 3-2 win. Braden Holtby hasn't played well in these playoffs, but he looked confident in his last start. His confidence must have taken a big hit when he allowed a pair of late goals, allowing the Penguins to tie the game and force the extra period. He was only asked to make one save in overtime, and I think he comes into Game 4 just as fragile as he was after playing poorly in the first two games in Washington." Holtby has the lowest save percentage of any of the remaining goaltenders in these playoffs. I'll take the Penguins at home with Crosby back in the lineup. Take PIT. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-07-17 | Celtics v. Wizards -175 | Top | 102-121 | Win | 100 | 48 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Washington Wizards.
Washington has led at halftime in all three games in this series, and finally in Game 3 at home they were able to hold a lead. They will try to even the series at 2-2 in Game 4 on Sunday, and I like their chances of doing just that. Isaiah Thomas struggled in Game 3, playing just 29 minutes, scoring 13 points on 3-of-8 shooting. He missed the beginning of the second half after having a tooth knocked out earlier in the game. He needed surgery to repair the damage, and while he's expected to play, he's going to be hurting, especially if he takes any more shots to the jaw area. Washington was one of the best home teams in the league during the regular season, and they've won by double digits in each of their last three home games against the Celtics. The Wizards owned the boards in the last game, out-rebounding Boston 50-38. I expect to see this series go seven games, with the home team winning each and every game. Take WAS. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Kansas City Royals.
The Royals are the last place team in the AL Central, but they do have a winning home record. They won Game 1 of this home series versus Cleveland, and I like the Royals in Game 2 this afternoon. Jason Vargas will toe the rubber for the Royals, and he's been dominant for the most part this season. Vargas (4-1, 1.42 ERA) allowed one run on five hits over six innings in a home win over Chicago his last time out. He's 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA in three home starts in 2017. He's had plenty of success against Cleveland, going 4-1 with a 4.23 ERA in his last eight starts against The Tribe. The Indians hand the ball to Josh Tomlin, who hasn't missed many bats lately. Tomlin (2-3, 8.87 ERA) allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings in a home win over Seattle his last time out. The Royals have seen plenty of Tomlin over the years, and they are batting a combined .302 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs in 232 total at bats against him. The Indians have lost eight of their last 10 versus a left-handed starter. Take KC. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-05-17 | Oilers v. Ducks -135 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 21 h 46 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Anaheim Ducks.
The Oilers have lost all the momentum in this series after back to back home losses, and now they head to Anaheim for a pivotal Game 5. Ryan Getzlaf took over the game in Edmonton on Wednesday night, scoring a pair of goals and adding a couple of assists. Edmonton fans are focused on the fact that three of the Ducks four goals were controversial, but the reality is that the Oilers were sloppy defensively, failing to get the puck out of the defensive zone. Corey Perry has been one of the league's most prolific scorers over the past decade, but prior to Game 4 he had been a non factor. He was a +3 in the last game, and appears to be re-energized after being bumped up to the first line. The home team has yet to win a game in this series, but the Ducks home record over the last several seasons suggest that it's only a matter of time before home ice advantage comes into play. Edmonton had lost nine of 11 visits to the Duck Pond before this series started, and Anaheim is 44-21 in it's last 65 home games. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-05-17 | Diamondbacks -107 v. Rockies | Top | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The D'Backs are a game and a half back of the Rockies in the NL West, but they have a chance to close the gap in Game 1 of this series in Colorado with their ace on the mound. Zack Grienke (2-2, 3.19 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out nine in seven innings in a no decision versus Colorado his last time out. He's 4-2 with a 3.92 ERA in his last 10 starts against the Rockies, and he's 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA in his last four starts at Coors Field. The Rockies hand the ball to German Marquez, who was rocked for eight runs on nine hits and three walks in just four innings in his only previous start at home this season. Colorado is 0-4 in Marquez's last four starts, and they've lost six of the last eight in this series versus Arizona. Take ARI. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on NAS@STL to go UNDER the total.
The Blues face elimination in Game 5 on home ice, and I am expecting another tight, defensive battle here. I took the under in Game 3, and this is what I had to say prior to the game: "The Nashville Predators return home with their second round series versus St. Louis deadlocked at 1-1. The Blues won Game 2 by a score of 3-2, and most of the scoring in that game came in the third period. Goals could be hard to come by here in Nashville, as Pekka Rinne leads all goaltenders with a 1.44 GAA and a .949 save percentage in the playoffs. Only one of Nashville's six playoff games has seen more than five goals, and seven of the last 10 meetings in this series has failed to go over the total. Over the years the Blues have a history of playing low scoring games at Bridgestone Arena. The under is 29-7-6 in the last 42 meetings in Nashville. The Predators haven't gone over the total in any of their last five home games. We should see both goaltenders shine here in today's matinee in the Music City." Jake Allen has played well for the Blues, posting a .936 save percentage in the playoffs. Scoring chances should be hard to come by tonight in St. Louis. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Tampa Rays.
The Rays lost 4-1 at Toronto last week, despite Chris Archer tossing a gem. He went 7 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out five. I said the following about Archer before his last start: "Chris Archer will toe the rubber for the Rays, and he's owned Toronto in his career. Archer (2-1, 3.94 ERA) allowed five runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings in a 6-3 loss at Baltimore his last time out. He's 5-4 with a 3.49 ERA his last 12 starts against the Jays."Toronto will hand the ball to Francisco Liriano, who was roughed up in Tampa in his season debut. He didn't even get out of the first inning in that game, allowing five runs on three hits and four walks. He's allowed seven runs on eight hits and eight walks over 5 2/3 innings in two appearances on the road this season. The Jays lineup is hitting a combined .210 with 67 strikeouts in 243 at bats versus Archer. Take TB. GL, Jesse Schule |

The Cubs beat Philly by a score of 5-4 in 13 innings at Wrigley Thursday, and they host the Yankees in a matinee in the Windy City this afternoon. The Bronx Bombers took two of three in a home series versus the Blue Jays, and they are now sitting in first in the AL East. Michael Pineda will toe the slab for the Yankees, and he's been dealing lately. Pineda (3-1, 3.14 ERA) allowed two runs on five hits while striking out eight in 5 1/3 innings in a home win over the Orioles his last time out. The Yankees have won his last four starts, and he's racked up a whopping 37 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched this season. The Cubs hand the ball to Kyle Hendricks, who hasn't pitched as well as he did last season. Hendricks (2-1, 4.18 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on three hits over six innings in a 6-2 loss at Boston his last time out. He's allowed seven runs on 10 hits and six walks over just 10 innings in two home starts. The Yankees are 5-1 in their last six versus the Cubs. Take NYY. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on Monaco vs Juventus to go OVER the total.
The Series A leaders Juventus will visit Monaco in a Champions League Semi Final match Wednesday, and these teams have contrasting styles. Monaco was the highest scoring team in Europe this season, averaging more than three goals per game. The French side has averaged a goal every 32 minutes at home, and nine of Monaco's last 10 matches have seen at least three goals scored. Juventus has scored at least two goals in five of it's last six matches, but the Italians are known more for their defensive prowess. They have posted clean sheets in seven of their last 10 matches. I expect to see Monaco play an aggressive brand of football here at home, allowing Juventus to take advantage of any mistake with a dangerous counter attack. When all is said and done I expect both teams to score, and we should see an exciting match with at least three total goals. Take OVER. GL, Jesse Schule |

The Rockies are sitting in first place in the NL West, and they play at last place San Diego tonight. Tyler Chatwood will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he's got great numbers away from Colorado. Chatwood (2-3, 4.88 ERA) allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings in a home loss to Washington his last time out. He tossed a complete game (two hit) shutout in his last road start. He's 8-1 with a 2.18 ERA in his last 15 road starts. The Padres hand the ball to Trevor Cahill, who the Rockies have hit hard in past meetings. Cahill (1-2, 4.50 ERA) allowed five runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings in a no decision versus Arizona his last time out. The Rockies are hitting .308 over a combined 91 at bats versus Cahill. Colorado is 12-4 in their last 16 when Chatwood starts on the road. Take COL. GL, Jesse Schule |

The Mariners have not seen much of their home field this season, playing 17 of their first 26 games on the road. They are 6-3 in nine games at Safeco, and I'll take the M's in Game 1 of a home series versus LA. John Paxton will toe the slab for Seattle, and he's been lights out at Safeco. Paxton (3-0, 1.39 ERA) tossed seven scoreless innings, striking out nine in a win at Detroit his last time out. He's posted zeros in four of his five starts this season. He's 3-2 with a 2.17 ERA in his last seven starts against LA. The Halos hand the ball to Matt Shoemaker, who has struggled so far. Shoemaker (1-1, 4.73 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on seven hits and two walks over just five innings in a win over Oakland his last time out. He was 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in four starts versus Seattle last year. Nelson Cruz and Robinson Cano have combined to hit four home runs in 45 at bats versus Shoemaker. Take SEA. GL, Jesse Schule |

After a shocking first round win over Chicago, the Predators are in the driver's seat in their second round series versus St. Louis. They come into Game 4 on home ice with a 2-1 series lead, and I like their chances of taking a commanding 3-1 lead. Here is what I said prior to Game 3: "The Nashville Predators return home with their second round series versus St. 05-02-17 | A's v. Twins -138 | Top | 1-9 | Win | 100 | 22 h 3 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins are off to a great start, sitting just one game out of first in the AL Central. They host the A's tonight, and I'll take Minny with ace Ervin Santana on the hill. Santana (4-0, 0.77 ERA) allowed one runs on four hits, fanning six in seven innings in a win at Texas his last time out. He's allowed a pair of runs on seven hits, striking out 20 in 22 innings in three home starts so far. He's 2-1 with a 1.14 ERA in his last three starts versus Oakland. The A's hand the ball to Sonny Gray, who makes his 2017 season debut. The right-hander really struggled last season, and he lost his only start versus Minnesota. He's 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in two starts against the Twins since 2014. The A's are 1-6 in their last seven road games, and they've lost six of Gray's last seven starts on the road. Take Minny. 05-02-17 | Rangers +1.5 v. Astros | Top | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 20 h 5 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Texas Rangers +1.5.
The Rangers lost the series opener in Houston by a score of 6-2 last night, but I like Texas to even the series with their ace on the mound Tuesday. Cole Hamels will the rubber for the Rangers, and he owns Houston. Hamels (2-0, 3.03 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings in a home win over the Twins his last time out. He's 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA in his last four starts versus the Astros. Houston will hand the ball to Mike Fiers, who is still looking for his first win of the season. Fiers (0-1, 5.12 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on five hits and three walks over just 4 1/3 innings in a loss to Cleveland his last time out. He's been really hurt by the long ball, surrendering a whopping eight home runs in just 19 innings pitched in 2017. Texas has won seven of it's last 10 at Minute Maid Park. Take TEX. This is a 10* play on TB@MIA to go OVER the total.
The Rays beat the Fish by a score of 4-2 in Game 1 on Monday, but I expect to see more offense in Game 2 here tonight. Alex Cobb will toe the rubber for the Rays, and he's been struggling lately. Cobb (1-2, 4.66 ERA) allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings in a 5-4 loss at Baltimore his last time out. He had allowed at least four runs in three consecutive starts prior to the loss to the Orioles. The Fish hand the ball to Edinson Volquez, who has been hit hard in previous meetings with Tampa. Volquez (0-3, 4.44 ERA) allowed three runs on six hits and four walks over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to Philly his last time out. He's walked a dozen batters over 13 1/3 innings in his last three starts. The Rays are batting .336 with five home runs in a combined 110 at bats against Volquez. The over is 9-0 in Cobb's last nine road starts. Take OVER. GL, Jesse Schule |

05-02-17 | Senators v. Rangers UNDER 5 | Top | 1-4 | Push | 0 | 20 h 23 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on OTT@NYR to go under the total.
The Senators won in dramatic fashion in Game 2 in Ottawa, and while the two teams scored a combined 11 goals in that game, they scored just once in the final two periods. Here is what I said before the series started: "The Senators aren't getting a lot of respect here in the post-season, as most people are picking the Rangers to win this second round series. It's tough to bet against Ottawa though, especially considering the play of goaltender Craig Anderson. He had the second best save percentage in the NHL this season, and he's been dominating here in the playoffs. Defenseman Erik Karlsson has also been on top of his game for the Senators, who ranked 22nd in the league in scoring during the regular season. The Sens aren't a flashy team, and they don't have a lot of star power up front. They got this far with solid goaltending and a rock solid blue line. They play a tough, gritty style that just might be effective here against the Rangers. New York had little trouble scoring during the regular season, but they scored just 11 goals on Carey Price in six games in their first round series versus Montreal. The Habs carried the play for most of the series, but struggled to score on Henrik Lundqvist. History suggests that goals will be hard to come by here, as eight of the last 10 meetings between the two teams has gone under the total. The under is 16-6-7 in the last 29 meetings in Ottawa" Take UNDER . GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Toronto Raptors.
While the Cavs swept Indiana in the first round, they didn't really look sharp in those four games. Cleveland is asked to cover a seven point spread here in Game 1 versus the Raptors, despite the fact that all four games against the Pacers were decided by six points or less. LeBron James is still the best player in the NBA, but Kyrie Irving has looked pretty average lately. He shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc during the regular season, but is hitting just over 20 percent from three-point range in the playoffs. He averaged 5.8 assists per game during the season, but is averaging just 3 APG in the post-season. Cleveland won three of four versus the Raptors during the regular season, but all three of those wins came in gamed decided by less than five points. Toronto is 5-1 ATS in it's last six road games, while the Cavs are 0-4 ATS in their last five at home. The road team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings between the two teams. Take TOR. 04-30-17 | Braves v. Brewers -105 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 21 h 26 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Brewers host the Braves in Game 3 at Miller Park Sunday, and I like the home team with veteran Matt Garza on the mound. Garza (0-0, 2.25 ERA) allowed one earned run on four hits, striking out four in four innings in his season debut. He was only able make eight starts at Miller Park last year, and he was 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA in those games. One of those games was a win over the Braves, and he allowed a pair of runs on seven hits in six innings in a win. The Braves hand the ball to Mike Foltynewizc, who is winless in four starts so far. The right-hander allowed one run on four hits while striking out nine in seven innings, not factoring in the decision in a loss to Philly his last time out. Ryan Braun is swinging a hot bat for the Brewers, and he was 3-for-5 with a home run and a pair of RBIs in Game 1 of this series. Braun is 2-for-3 lifetime versus Foltynewizc. Take MIL. This is a 10* play on OAK@HOU to go UNDER the total.
Houston is in first place in the AL West, three games clear of the Angels. The Astros host Oakland in the final game of a three games series at Minute Maid Park on Sunday, and they will be a big favorite with their ace on the mound. Dallas Keuchel (4-0, 1.22 ERA) went the distance in a 4-2 win at Cleveland his last time out, allowing just a pair of runs on six hits. He's 23-10 with a 2.43 ERA in 43 starts in Houston since 2014, and he's 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA in his last nine starts against the A's. Oakland will hand the ball to Jesse Hahn, who tossed eight scoreless innings in a no decision at LA his last time out. He's really been roughed up in his last two starts at Houston, going 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA. The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Houston. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics can close out this first round series versus Chicago tonight, but they'll have to win again on the road. After losing both Games 1 & 2 at home, they have now won three straight, with two of those wins coming here at the United Center. Here is what I said prior to Game 4: "The Chicago Bulls shocked the Celtics by winning back to back games in Boston, but they lost Game 3 of this series at home by a whopping 17 points. The Celtics can even the series at 2-2 with a win in Chicago tonight, and the Bulls might be in big trouble without PG Rajon Rondo. Without him they had more turnovers (17) than assists (14) in Game 3. Backup point-guards Michael Carter-Williams and Jerian Grant score a combined eight points on 3-of-10 shooting. The Celtics defense completely shut down Jimmy Butler in the last game, holding him to 14 points on 7-of-21 shooting. The Celtics didn't have any trouble winning on the road during the regular season, and the Bulls are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games versus a team with a winning road record. The Bulls appeared to be well on their way to recording the biggest upset of the first round, but the injury to Rondo may have derailed their playoff hopes." It would be a miracle if Rondo was able to play in Game 6, and even if he does, he won't be 100 percent. Take BOS. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-27-17 | Marlins v. Phillies -102 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 13 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies have won five straight, and they go for the sweep here in Game 3 of this home series versus Miami. Jeremy Hellickson will toe the slab for Philly, and he has great numbers against the Fish. Last season he faced Miami six times, going 3-1 with a 2.01 ERA. The 30 year old right-hander has allowed just five runs in four starts this season, and Philly is 4-0 in those games. Miami will hand the ball to Edinson Volquez, who was pulled in the third inning in his last start. Volquez (0-2, 4.82 ERA) allowed fur runs on five hits and four walks in three innings in a 10-5 loss to Seattle his last time out. The Phillies haven't seen much of Volquez, but over 35 combined at bats they have hit .429 with a home run and six RBIs against him. Take PHI. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-26-17 | Oilers v. Ducks -127 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -127 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
The Ducks swept the Calgary Flames in the first round, and now they face another Alberta team in the Western Conference semifinals. Anaheim found a way to win even without key defensemen Hampus Lindholm, Cam Fowler and Sami Vatanen, but all could be in the lineup for Game 1. With Chicago and San Jose going out in the first round, the Ducks are now the favorites to win the West. They will have home ice throughout the Conference Semis and Conference Finals, and that's a big deal for a team with a home record of 31-8-2. They also have a history of beating the Oilers at home, winning nine of their last 11 home games in this series. Veterans Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf each have Stanley Cup rings, and they know what it takes to win in the post-season. Kevin Bieksa and Ryan Kesler came close to getting rings with the Canucks in 2010, and they will be hungry here this time around. Edmonton is loaded with youth and talent, but it's going to be tough to keep the momentum going against an experienced team like the Ducks. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-25-17 | Astros -119 v. Indians | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 21 h 8 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Houston Astros.
The Astros come into Cleveland as winners of eight of their last 10, and they are sitting in first place in the AL West. Cleveland is tied for first in the AL Central, but the Indians have lost four of six at home so far. Dallas Keuchel will toe the slab for Houston in Game 1, and the Astros ace has been sharp lately. Keuchel (3-0, 0.96 ERA) allowed one run on eight hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a home win over the Angels his last time out. He's 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in two starts versus The Tribe since 2014. The Indians hand the ball to Josh Tomlin, who has been roughed up pretty good in three starts. Tomlin (1-2, 11.68 ERA) has only had one home start this season, and he was pulled in the second inning of that game after giving up seven runs on eight hits against the White Sox. Tomlin's numbers at Progessive Field over the last three seasons are far from impressive, he's 11-12 with a 4.61 ERA in 32 appearances. Take HOU. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on MTL@NYR to go UNDER the total. The Habs won Game 3 of this series by a score of 3-1, and I bet the under in that game. Here is what I said before the opening faceoff: "The Habs couldn't beat Henrik Lundqvist in Game 1, losing by a score of 2-0. They were 15 seconds away from losing Game 2 by a score of 3-2, but tied the game and went on to win 4-3 in overtime. Carey Price hasn't been at his best so far in this series, but I am still expecting him to steal a game or two for Montreal. These two teams have gone over the total just once in the last 11 meetings at Madison Square Garden. Montreal has played low scoring games on the road, going over the total just three times in their last 19 games away from the Bell Center. The under is 14-4-6 in the last 24 meetings between the two teams" Montreal held the Rangers to just 21 shots on goal, and Carey Price was just two minutes away from a shutout. The Habs lost Game 4 by a score of 2-1, and both of New York's goals came on terrible blunders from Montreal defensemen. The goaltending has been outstanding in this series so far, and it would appear that another low scoring battle is inevitable here in Game 6 at Madison Square Gardens. Take UNDER. Jesse Schule |

04-22-17 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks -105 | Top | 5-11 | Win | 100 | 28 h 23 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Arizona heads into this home series versus the Dodgers sitting just half a game out of first in the NL West. These teams split a four game series in LA, and one of Arizona's wins in that series came with Robbie Ray on the hill. Ray (1-0, 1.96 ERA) allowed just one earned run on three hits, striking out 10 in six innings, helping Arizona win 4-2. I bet on Arizona in that game, and here is what I said about Ray: "He's pitched well in previous meetings with the Dodgers, going 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA in his last eight starts against them. The Dodgers lineup is batting just .215 over 93 combined at bats against Ray." The Dodgers hand the ball to Kenta Maeda, who has not been sharp so far. Maeda (1-1, 7.07 ERA) allowed four runs on four hits, allowing one walk and a home run in four innings against the D'Backs in his last start. He allowed nine runs on 16 hits over 15 2/3 innings in three starts at Chase Field last year. The Dodgers really struggle against left-handed pitching, batting just .225 versus southpaws this year. This is nothing new, they hit just .213 versus left-handed pitching in 2016. Take ARI. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-21-17 | Clippers v. Jazz UNDER 197 | Top | 111-106 | Loss | -108 | 32 h 51 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on LAC@UTAH to go UNDER the total. After back to back unders in the first two games in this series, I don't think there's any reason to expect a different result when the series shifts to Utah. Here is what I said prior to Game 2: "The Jazz upset the Clippers in Game 1, holding LA to 95 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Utah led the NBA in opponent's scoring average during the regular season, allowing just 96.8 points per game. Game 1 of this series fell well short of the total, and it was the fourth time in Utah's last five games at LA that the total landed below the number. Utah has also gone under in four of it's last five road games. The Clippers are an above average defensive team, and here in a "must win", they should step up the intensity. DeAndre Jordan ranks third in the NBA averaging three blocks per game, and he blocked three shots in Game 1. Playoff basketball is often a lot more defensive than the style of play seen during the regular season. That is evidenced by the fact that the Jazz have gone under in five straight Conference Quarterfinals games, and LA has failed to reach the total in five of their last seven in the first round of the playoffs." Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the Washington Capitals -1.5.
The Capitals were supposed to beat the Leafs in 4-5 games, but they head back to Washington with the series tied 2-2. Game 5 is an absolute "must win" for Washington, a team that is trying to shake it's reputation as a playoff bust. The Caps have come out like gangbusters in each of the last two games, building big early leads. The Leafs were able to come from behind to win Game 3 in overtime, but they couldn't come back in Game 4. In fact if it wasn't for a bad call on a disallowed goal, the last game wouldn't have been close. Washington ranked 3rd in the league in scoring, and they had the 3rd best power play in the league during the regular season. They allowed fewer goals than any other team in the league, and Braden Holtby ranked second in the NHL in GAA during the regular season, and third in save percentage. This is a game that the Capitals simply can't afford to lose. I expect to see them start fast as they did in Games 3 and 4, but this time I don't think the Leafs will be able to come back. Take WAS. 04-20-17 | Sharks +113 v. Oilers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 31 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the San Jose Sharks.
I have the Sharks winning this first round series versus Edmonton, and here is what I said before the series started: "The Edmonton Oilers finished second in the Pacific Division, just four points ahead of San Jose. They will host the Sharks in the first round of the playoffs, and Game 1 goes Wednesday night at Rexall Place. Both these teams play an exciting brand of hockey, and I expect to see plenty of scoring in the series opener. The over was 3-0-2 in five meetings in the season series, and the two teams combined to score 13 goals in two games in Edmonton. The Oilers captain Connor McDavid led the NHL in scoring with 100 points this season, and the Sharks Brett Burns was the league's top scoring defenseman. The Sharks went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and they opened the post-season with a 4-3 win over the Kings. I expect a similar score here in Game 1 in Edmonton. The Oilers are young, fast and loaded with talent, but the Sharks have experienced veterans that have been here before." The Sharks took Game 1 here in Edmonton, and now they return for a pivotal Game 5 with the series tied 2-2. While I expect Edmonton to respond after an embarrassing loss, I also believe that their inferior defensive play has been exposed. I'll take experience over youth here in this one. Take SJS. I hit the under in Game 1 of this series, and then I didn't have a bet on Game 2, when the total went way over. Both teams shot close to 50 percent from three-point range in Game 2, well above their season averages. That's unlikely to happen again here in Milwaukee in Game 3. I expect tonight's game to be similar to Game 1, and here is what I had to say before this series started: "The Milwaukee Bucks will face the Raptors in Toronto tonight, and the Bucks lost three of four games in the season series. Three of those four games went under the total, and the Bucks scored an average of just 96.5 points in those games. Milwaukee had a strong second half, and finished ranked top 10 in the NBA in opponent's scoring average. The Bucks have failed to reach the total in eight of their last 10 versus the Raptors, and four of their last five at Toronto. Scoring normally goes down in the playoffs, and the under is 9-2-2 in Milwaukee's last 13 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Raptors have gone under in six of their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games. Last year in their first round series versus the Pacers, six of seven games failed to reach a total of 200 points" Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

This is a 10* play on the LAD -1.5. Clayton Kershaw lost at Coors Field earlier this month, but he had owned the Rockies prior to that game. Here is what I said prior to the Dodgers loss at Colorado on April 8th. "Colorado's Coors Field is the most intimidating ballpark in the majors for pitchers, but that doesn't seem to apply to Clayton Kershaw. He's 8-0 with a 1.91 ERA in nine starts versus the Rockies since 2014, and he's 3-0 with a 2.81 ERA in four starts at Coors Field during that span. Kershaw was dealing on Opening Day, going seven strong innings, striking out eight and allowing just one earned run. The Rockies lineup is batting just .214 with a whopping 76 strikeouts over a combined 243 at bats." The Rockies hand the ball to Tyler Anderson, who was rocked by the Dodgers at home in the last series. Anderson (1-2, 8.59 ERA) allowed five runs on five hits and four walks in five innings, losing that game by a score of 10-6. He's pitched two of his three starts this season on the road, surrendering nine runs on 13 hits over 9 2/3 innings. Take LAD. GL, Jesse Schule |

Toronto got one back late in the first period, but the Caps extended their lead to 3-1 early in the second. Toronto was fortunate to come back and tie the game, and went on to win it in overtime. Every game in this series has gone to overtime, despite the fact that the Caps were an enormous favorite, expected to win in 4-5 games. Washington ranked 3rd in the league in scoring, and they had the 3rd best power play in the league during the regular season. They allowed fewer goals than any other team in the league, and Braden Holtby ranked second in the NHL in GAA during the regular season, and third in save percentage. He's pitched well in previous meetings with the Dodgers, going 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA in his last eight starts against them. The Dodgers line is batting just .215 over 93 combined at bats against Ray. The Dodgers hand the ball to Brandon McCarthy, who is off to a good start to the season. The Spurs put on a defensive clinic in Game 1 of this first round series versus Memphis, holding the Grizzlies to just 39.2 percent shooting in a 111-82 home win. That game still went over the total of 190, and the total for tonight's game is even lower than it was in Game 1. I expect Memphis to battle back here in Game 2, and they should be a little better offensively. The Grizzlies trailed by just three points at the half in Game 1 (52-49). They only managed to score 33 points in the second half, but the Spurs didn't slow down at all. San Antonio hit 10-of-19 three-point attempts, and shot 53.2 percent from the field. While these are two of the top defensive teams in the NBA, the bookmakers may be overcompensating for that with a total that is far lower than it was in any of the five meetings in this series this season. The Spurs have gone over in four of their last five overall, while the Grizzlies have gone under just once in their last five games. Take OVER. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-17-17 | Blackhawks v. Predators UNDER 5 | Top | 2-3 | Push | 0 | 11 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on CHI@NAS to go UNDER the total. The Chicago Blackhawks are on the ropes, heading to the Music City down 0-2 to the Nashville Predators. They haven't scored a goal in the first two games of this series, as Pekka Rinne is coming off back to back shutouts. He's only allowed 14 goals in his last 11 starts, and he's allowed just eight goals in his last six starts in Nashville. The under is 3-0-1 in Predators last 4 Conference Quarterfinals games. Five of the last six games in Nashville have gone under the total. Only one of the Predators last 11 games overall has gone over the total. Chicago has lost six straight overall, and a loss here in Game 3 would be a death sentence for the Hawks. It's a "do or die" situation for the visitors, and in high stakes games like these, scoring chances are normally hard to come by. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-17-17 | Capitals v. Maple Leafs UNDER 5.5 | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -130 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on TOR@WAS to go UNDER the total. The Leafs head back to Toronto with a split in their first round series versus the Washington Capitals. Toronto is a huge underdog in this series, but so far it's been the Leafs that have had Washington on the ropes. Frederik Anderson has been sharp between the pipes, and he stopped 47-of-50 shots in a 4-3 OT win in Game 2. Washington's starting netminder Braden Holtby ranked second in the NHL in GAA during the regular season, and third in save percentage. While we've seen some high scoring games in recent meetings between these two teams, tonight's game is a high stakes affair. The team that loses this pivotal Game 3 will face a real uphill battle, so we can expect both teams to tighten up defensively. The under is 31-15-5 in Capitals last 51 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Leafs have failed to reach the total in four of their last five home games. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-17-17 | Senators v. Bruins UNDER 5 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on OTT@BOS to go UNDER the total. The Boston Bruins return home with this first round series versus Ottawa tied 1-1. Game 3 will be pivotal, and I expect to see both teams clamp down on defense. Craig Anderson has been solid in goal for the Senators, and he had the second best save percentage in the league during the regular season. The Bruins are strong defensively, and they boast the NHL's top penalty killing unit. Boston has failed to reach the total in five of their last six home games, and the under is 12-3-1 in Bruins last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Sens have had success against the Bruins, winning seven of the last eight in this series. Ottawa has gone under in five of it's last six games when coming off a win. Take UNDER. 04-16-17 | Angels v. Royals +104 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 104 | 4 h 23 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the KC Royals.
The Angels have cooled off since starting the season with six wins in eight games. They are down 0-2 in this series in Kansas City, and I like the Royals to complete the sweep here on Sunday. Ian Kennedy will toe the rubber for the Royals, and he's pitched better than the numbers show. Kennedy (0-2, 4.09 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on six hits over six innings in a 2-0 home loss to Oakland his last time out. He has been rather successful against the Angels, LA is batting just .234 against him in 124 at bats. The Angels hand the ball to Tyler Skaggs, and he's been roughed up in each of his first two starts. He's been tagged for 10 runs on 13 hits over just 10 1/3 innings so far this season. He's also given up three home runs and walked five batters in two appearances. LA has lost eight of Skaggs' last 11 starts. Take KC. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-15-17 | Bucks v. Raptors UNDER 203.5 | Top | 97-83 | Win | 100 | 52 h 40 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on MIL@TOR to go UNDER the total.
The Milwaukee Bucks will face the Raptors in Toronto tonight, and the Bucks lost three of four games in the season series. Scoring normally goes down in he playoffs, and the under is 9-2-2 in Milwaukee's last 13 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Raptors have gone under in six of their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games. Last year in their first round series versus the Pacers, six of seven games failed to reach a total of 200 points. Take UNDER. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-13-17 | Flames v. Ducks -153 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 58 h 35 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Anaheim Ducks.
It was just over a week ago that the Ducks played Calgary in a high stakes game with both teams battling for playoff position. I had Anaheim in that game, and they went on to win 3-1. It was their 27th consecutive home win over the Flames. Here is what I said before the game: "The Ducks and the Flames could potentially meet in the first round of the playoffs, but given the history, Calgary is probably hoping for another opponent in the first round. The Ducks are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between the two teams, and Calgary has lost 26 straight at The Duck Pond. The Ducks beat the Flames in Calgary on Sunday, and they can move into second place in the Western Conference with a win at home tonight. The Ducks have the best home record in the West, and they are 6-0-1 in their last seven home games. The Flames have dropped nine of their last 11 when playing the second game in a home and home series." The Ducks have a ton of playoff experience, and there's no reason to expect an upset here in Anaheim in the first round. Take ANA. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-13-17 | Rangers -117 v. Angels | Top | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Texas Rangers. The Rangers have split the first two games of this series in LA versus the Angels, and I like Texas in Game 3 with it's ace on the hill. Yu Darvish pitched well his last time out, but the right-hander is still looking for his first victory of 2017. Darvish has a history of pitching well against the Angels, holding them to a combined .238 average with 37 strikeouts in 122 total at bats. He's particularly strong in day games, going 6-2 with a 1.78 ERA in his last 10 starts in the afternoon. The Halos hand the ball to Ricky Nolasco, who has been a little shaky in his first few starts. Nolasco has given up three home runs over just 11 2/3 innings of work, and he's put 14 men on base during that span. His numbers have been better under the lights than they are in day games. He's 8-12 with a 5.92 ERA in his last 28 starts in afternoon games. Carlos Gomez owns Nolasco, batting .444 with a home run and four RBIs lifetime. Take TEX. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-12-17 | Braves v. Marlins -113 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -113 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on the Miami Marlins.
The Fish have won four of their last five overall, and have a chance to complete a sweep of this three game series versus Atlanta on Wednesday. The Braves were expected to be better after finishing last season strong, but have just one win in seven games so far. Tom Koehler will toe the slab for the Marlins, and the right-hander was solid in his debut. Koehler allowed just one run on four hits, fanning four in five innings. He's not a dominant pitcher by any stretch of the imagination, but has been fairly consistent for Miami. The Braves hand the ball to southpaw Jaime Garcia, who was roughed up in his debut. The left-hander gave up four runs on six hits and a pair of walks in six innings in a loss to the Mets. He's been hit hard in previous starts at Miami, giving up seven runs on 10 hits over 10 1/3 innings in two starts there since 2014. Giancarlo Stanton is still looking for his first home run of the season, but it might come today. He really feasts on left-handed pitching, and he's 5-for-8 with a home run lifetime versus Garcia. Take MIA. GL, Jesse Schule. |

Tom Koehler will toe the slab for the Marlins, and the right-hander was solid in his debut. Koehler allowed just one run on four hits, fanning four in five innings. He's not a dominant pitcher by any stretch of the imagination, and the Braves lineup has hit better than .300 against him in over 100 previous at bats. The Braves hand the ball to southpaw Jaime Garcia, who was roughed up in his debut. The left-hander gave up four runs on six hits and a pair of walks in six innings in a loss to the Mets. He's been hit hard in previous starts at Miami, giving up seven runs on 10 hits over 10 1/3 innings in two starts there since 2014. 04-12-17 | White Sox v. Indians UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 36 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on CWS@CLE to go UNDER the total.
The White Sox lost Game 1 at Cleveland yesterday by a score of 2-1, and I expect another pitcher's duel here in Game 2. Danny Salazar will toe the slab for Cleveland, and he struck out nine batters in just 5 2/3 innings in his season debut. The right-hander was 2-0 with a 4.12 ERA in three starts against Chicago last season, and he started off by going 10-3 with a 2.75 ERA in 17 starts before the All Star break. The White Sox hand the ball to Derek Holland, who is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in two starts against the Tribe since 2014. Holland allowed just one run on six hits over six innings in a win at Progressive Field last year. The Indians have failed to reach the total in 15 of their last 21 overall. Take UNDER.
