Irvin is coming off a very nice start against Detroit where he allowed just four hits and no runs for his first win. The O's will start Jorge Lopez today. Lopez is 1-2 after three starts with a 8.56 ERA and 1.317 WHIP. Hard not to back a red-hot A's team with the better pitcher on the mound today. Play Oakland. |
04-22-21 | Padres v. Dodgers UNDER 8 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 28 m | Show
The Padres hope their trip to LA turns out a bit better then their homestand against the Dodgers last week in which they won just a single game. Both these teams have been excellent under plays with the Padres having a 6-14 O/U record and the Dodgers at 6-12 O/U. This is in big part to excellent pitching staffs. The Pads start Ryan Weathers today. Weathers has just one start and he went 3 2/3 innings against the Dodgers with one hit and no runs. The Dodgers start Walker Buehler who has three starts with a 2.00 ERA and 1.000 WHIP. Both pitchers should hold well here today and turn over the ball to very good pens. Play the UNDER. |
04-22-21 | Marlins v. Giants UNDER 8.5 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 3 m | Show
Miami Marlins look to get back to the .500 mark here today as they play at San Francisco. The Marlins are 8-9 on the season and have a 7-9-1 O/U mark. The Giants are 11-7 after losing their last game. The Giants allow just 3.3 rpg while averaging just 3.7 rpg. No wonder they have a 6-12 O/U mark on the season. Daniel Castano starts for the fish with a 0-0 record after just one start. He started against these Giants last week and went five innings allowing three hits and one run. Aaron Sanchez will toe the rubber today for the Giants. Sanchez is 0-1 after three starts but has a nifty 2.45 ERA. Both pitchers are decent and the Giants like low scoring games. Play UNDER. |
04-22-21 | Yankees v. Indians -103 | 6-3 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 29 m | Show
To say the Yankees fans are frustrated with their team is a big understatement. The Yankees are out to a paltry 6-11 mark and the offense has been less than stellar as they average just 3.5 runs per game. The Yankees haven't scored more than three runs in any of their last five games and seven of their last eight. Domingo German starts for the Yankees today. He's 0-2 after two starts with a 9.00 ERA and 2.000 WHIP. The Indians dropped back to .500 after a loss last time out. Aaron Civale starts for the Tribe. He has a 3-0 record after three starts with a nice 2.18 ERA and 0.726 WHIP. Big difference between these starters here today and with the Yankees not finding their way yet - I'll take the host here. Play Cleveland. |
04-21-21 | Twins v. A's -108 | 12-13 | Win | 100 | 3 h 40 m | Show
The Minnesota Twins look to snap a 3-game losing streak here today at Oakland. The Twins have dropped to 6-10 on the season. They will start Kenta Maeda today who has three starts and a 1-1 record. Maeda has a 3.07 ERA and 1.705 WHIP. The A's are red hot, winning 10 straight games to improve to 11-7 on the season. Frankie Monta will start for the A's. Monta has a 2-1 record after three starts with a 4.91 ERA and 1.363 ERA. I will take the hot A's here tonight. Play Oakland. |
04-21-21 | Giants v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | 5-6 | Loss | -120 | 13 h 20 m | Show
The Giants beat the Phillies on Tuesday to improve to 11-6 on the season. The Giants have also been a great under team this year with 12 of their 17 games going UNDER. That is in big part to an excellent pitching staff that has allowed just 2.9 runs per game. Anthony Desclafani has three starts for the Giants with a nifty 1.06 ERA and 1.059 WHIP. He's allowed just two earned runs over his last 17 innings. The Phillies dropped to 8-9 with their loss on Tuesday. The Phils send Zach Eflin to the hill today. Eflin has three starts and is 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA and 0.950 WHIP. I like this game to go under here early on Wednesday. Take UNDER. |
04-20-21 | Brewers +102 v. Padres | 6-0 | Win | 102 | 12 h 38 m | Show
Milwaukee Brewers beat the Padres on Monday night and that lifted their record to 9-7 on the season. The Brewers have had excellent pitching, allowing just 3.3 runs per game. They have a excellent pitcher toeing the rubber here today in Corbin Burnes. Burns has a 1-1 record after three starts with a 0.49 ERA. He allowed one run in his opening start and since then no runs over his last 12 innings with just three hits, 19 KO's and no walks. The Padres of have slipped of late after losing two of three to the Dodgers and then opening with a loss in this series. They have dropped to 10-8, but also have a excellent pitching staff which allows just 3.3 runs per game. Chris Paddock starts tonight for the Pads with a 1-1 record after three starts and a 4.15 ERA. I really like the Brewers pitcher who has been amazing with his control and just not giving up runs. Play Milwaukee. |
04-20-21 | Blue Jays -101 v. Red Sox | 2-4 | Loss | -101 | 4 h 14 m | Show
Toronto Blue Jays look to get back to the .500 mark as they have dropped to 7-9 after losing two straight games. The Jays are only averaging 4.1 runs per game but they are allowing just 3.6 rpg. Hyun-Jin Ryu gets the start for the Jays today. Ryu has a nifty 1.89 ERA over his first three starts. He's allowed just four total runs and none in his last start. Eduardo Rodriquez starts for the Red Sox. Rodriquez has two starts and is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA. Two good pitchers, but I favor Ryu in this matchup. Play Toronto. |
04-19-21 | Dodgers v. Mariners OVER 8 | 3-4 | Loss | -116 | 11 h 19 m | Show
Despite losing on Sunday to the Padres, the Dodgers still have the best record in baseball at 13-3. Thanks in large part to their +38 run differential. The Dodgers have scored 90 runs in their 16 games, second only to the Cincinnati Reds. The Seattle Mariners have been a surprise thus far, as they lead the AL West with a 10-6 record. The M's have won seven of their last 10 games. All this despite giving up more runs then they have scored. Dustin May starts for the Dodgers today. He's 2-0 in his two starts with a 1.74 ERA. The M's will start Justus Sheffield who is 0-1 after his two starts. Sheffield has a 4.91 ERA. Might get ugly against this great hitting Dodgers team today for Sheffield. I'm going to play OVER. |
04-18-21 | Astros v. Mariners OVER 9 | 2-7 | Push | 0 | 5 h 59 m | Show
Houston got back to the .500 mark at 7-7 after their win over Seattle on Saturday. They are 9-5 O/U thanks to an offense that averages 5.0 rpg. Jake Odorizzi hasn't pitched well for the Astros with a 0-1 record and 13.51 ERA with 2.102 WHIP. Seattle is 9-6 despite allowing more runs per game (4.7) then they score (4.2). Nick Margevicius starts today with a 0-0 record after one start. He went just 3 innings against the Orioles, allowing six hits and six runs. I'm taking the OVER between these teams today. Play OVER. |
04-18-21 | Diamondbacks v. Nationals OVER 8.5 | 5-2 | Loss | -120 | 2 h 54 m | Show
Two teams struggling out of the Game are the 5-10 Arizona Diamondbacks and the 5-7 Washington Nationals. The Diamondbacks have lost the first two games of this series. They allow a whopping 5.4 runs per game this year. The Nationals are scoring 3.7 RPG while allowing 4.7 RPG. Madison Bumgarner struggling for the D'backs after three starts. He has a 11.19 ERA and 2.195 WHIP and has allowed at least five runs in each start. Stephen Strasburg also struggling after two starts with a 6.30 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. He allowed seven earned runs in his last start at St Louis. Two poor pitchers and two teams allowing a lot of runs here. Play OVER. |
04-17-21 | Orioles v. Rangers -134 | 6-1 | Loss | -134 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Both these teams come into today's contest with 6-8 records, with Baltimore winning on Friday over the Rangers to take game 1 of this series. These teams are pretty even, both averaging 4.1 rpg and just .2 rpg separating what they allow. Difference here today are starters. The O's have Dean Kremer on the hill for his third start. He's 0-1 with a 10.50 ERA, allowing seven runs over just six innings. Conversely, Dane Dunning has been very good in his two starts for the Rangers, allowing just one run over his nine innings of work for a 1-0 record. I like Dunning here today. Play the Texas Rangers. |
04-17-21 | Braves -114 v. Cubs | 4-13 | Loss | -114 | 2 h 30 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs have not had this bad a hitting team in over a century, as the club just can't seem to do much right. Despite that, they somehow have five wins to go with their eight loss. They have lost two straight games scoring just two total runs and allowing 12 runs. The Cubs have scored more than three runs just one time (4 runs) since April 5th. The Braves have won two straight games, improving to 8-6 on the season. They will start Huascar Ynoa today. Ynoa has two very good starts under his belt, allowing just one total run over 11 innings with 15 KO's and just two walks. Can't say the same for Cubs' starter Trevor Williams. Williams is 1-1 but has allowed seven runs over 9 1/3 innings (6.75 ETA) and has a 1.715 WHIP. Can't play the Cubs the way they are hitting and with today's starter. Take Atlanta. |
04-17-21 | Blue Jays v. Royals UNDER 7.5 | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 2 h 21 m | Show
Game one of a doubleheader here on Saturday between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals. The Blue Jays are 6-7 on the season after Friday's loss to the Royals. They will send Dylan Cease to the hill today. Cease has pitched well with a 3.85 ERA over his two starts, but has no record to show for it. The Kansas City Royals are 4-6-1 O/U on the season and today they will send Mike Minor to the hill. Minor is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. Minor is coming off a 4 inning start at the White Sox, allowing just one run over his four innings. I like this game to go UNDER here today, keeping in mind that the game is 7 innings and not nine. |
04-16-21 | Dodgers v. Padres UNDER 8 | 11-6 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 38 m | Show
The NL West showdown we've been waiting for is here as the 11-2 LA Dodgers take on the 9-5 San Diego Padres. Yes, it's early in the season, but this should be an excellent series. Both teams getting excellent pitching as the Dodgers allow just 3.2 rpg and the Padres 2.9 rpg. The Dodgers will start Walker Buehler tonight. He's 1-0 after two starts with a nifty 1.50 ERA and 0.8333 WHIP. The Padres counter with first time starter Ryan Weathers. For me, I'm looking at a pitchers series here and tonight I'll start with the UNDER |
04-16-21 | Indians v. Reds -115 | 3-10 | Win | 100 | 7 h 39 m | Show
Interleague Rivalry game here as the Reds host the Indians in a battle for Ohio. Both teams with identical 7-5 records, though the Indians come into this game off a win over the White Sox while the Reds dropped two straight to the Giants. Logan Allen starts for the Tribe with a 2.70 ERA after two starts and a 1-1 record. He has just eight KO's over 10 innings with five walks. The Reds start Jeff Hoffman who is 1-1 after two starts with a 3.86 ERA. Looks like a nice rivalry here tonight, but I give the edge to the Reds. Play Cincinnati. |
04-14-21 | Cubs v. Brewers UNDER 7 | 0-7 | Push | 0 | 1 h 55 m | Show
Cubs looking to get back to the .500 mark as they sit at 5-6 on the season after beating the Brewers on Tuesday night. The Cubs offense has been anemic at best, averaging just 2.9 runs per game this season. They will have some help on the mound today as Jake Arrieta toes the rubber. Arrieta is 2-0 on the season with a nifty 2.25 ERA over his 12 innings of work. The 6-5 Brewers will turn to Corbin Burnes who is 0-1 on the season after two starts. Burnes has just a 0.73 ERA. He has worked 12 1/3 innings and allowed just one earned run and two total hits. Two very good pitchers on the hill today and for me, I'm going UNDER. |
04-13-21 | Reds v. Giants UNDER 7.5 | 6-7 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 48 m | Show
The Cincinnati Reds off to a good start with a 7-3 record. They are also coming off a win on Monday at San Francisco, 3-0. Luis Castillo makes the start here today for the Reds. Castillo has two starts with a 1-1 record. He had a rough start in game one, going just 3 1/3 innings against the Cardinals and allowing eight runs and eight hits. However, he bounced back nicely against the Pirates, allowing just four hits and no runs over seven innings of work. The Giants are 6-4 on the season and while they average just 3.1 runs per game, they have allowed just 2.9 runs per game. Kevin Gausman will start for the Giants for the third time this year. Gausman has not record, but he has pitched well with a 1.32 ERA over his 13 2/3 innings of work with 11 KO's and just three walks. I like this game to go under with two good pitchers on the hill. Play UNDER. |
04-13-21 | Padres -1.5 v. Pirates | 4-8 | Loss | -135 | 6 h 38 m | Show
The San Diego Padres living up to their preseason hype, winning eight games already this season against just three losses. The Padres have also won four straight games. Their pitching has been outstanding, allowing just 2.3 runs per game this season. The Pirates are not off to a good start, going just 3-7 on the season and coming off a loss. In addition, the pitching staff is allowing 5.5 runs per game while the offense is scoring just 3.6 runs per game. Blake Snell will make his third start for the Padres as he looks for his first win. Snell is pitching great, allowing just two runs over his 9 2/3 innings of work with 16 KO's and just 6 walks this season. Chad Kuhl also makes his third start for the Pirates with a 0-1 record. Kuhl has seven innings of work over two starts with just three hits and five earned runs for a 6.43 ERA. Padres just playing too good to not play them here. Price too high though, so I'll lay the 1.5 runs. Play San Diego -1.5 runs. |
04-13-21 | Red Sox +127 v. Twins | 4-2 | Win | 127 | 1 h 12 m | Show
Red Sox started the season 0-3, but since have been on a six-game winning streak as they now sit at 6-3 on the season. The Twins have lost two straight games to drop to 5-4 on the season. Both teams scoring in bunches with the Sox averaging 6.4 runs per game and the Twins averaging 6.1 rpg. Martin Perez starts today for the Sox. He has no record after one start. Perez went five innings in his first start against the Rays, allowing three runs over five innings. J.A. Happ will start for the Twins. Happ went four innings in his one start vs Detroit, allowing just one run and three hits. Getting the Sox as a nice little dog here. I'll take the dog price with a red-hot Red Sox team. Play Boston. |
04-12-21 | Indians v. White Sox UNDER 8.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 24 m | Show
Cleveland Indians started slow out of the gate with a 1-3 record. However, four straight wins later and they sit at 5-3 on the season. They have also gone under in six of their eight games thanks to a pitching staff that's allowing just 2.8 runs per game this season. The White Sox dropped to 4-5 after losing on Sunday. They have also been a slight under team with five of their nine games going under. Triston McKenzie will make his first start of the season here for the Indians. The Sox will start Carlos Rodon. Rodon is 1-0 after going five inning against the Mariners in his opening game. He allowed no runs and just two hits over his five innings of work. I like this game to go UNDER tonight. |
04-11-21 | Rockies v. Giants UNDER 8 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 38 m | Show
Colorado looks to snap a two-game losing streak here today at the Giants. The Rockies are just 3-6 on the season. They will turn to German Marquez today. Marquez is 0-0 in his two starts, and has a nice 3.60 ERA. He has allowed four total runs over 10 innings of work. The Giants are 5-3 on the season and have won three straight. They have gone under in six of their eight games this season. Anthony Desclafani makes his second start. He went a solid five innings in his first start vs the Padres, allowing four hits and one run. I look for both pitchers to do well here today and these teams to continue to be good under plays. Play UNDER. |
04-11-21 | Red Sox -136 v. Orioles | 14-9 | Win | 100 | 3 h 38 m | Show
The Boston Red Sox look to extend their winning streak to five games here on Sunday after taking their game from the Orioles on Saturday, 6-4. The win improved the Sox to 5-3 on the season. Nick Pivetta will make his second start for the Sox. He went a solid five innings in his first start and allowing just two hits and not runs for the win over the Rays. The Orioles dropped to 4-4 after losing their last two games. They will start Jorge Lopez for the second time today. Lopez went 4 2/3 innings in his first start, allowing three hits and four runs in the loss to the Yankees. I'm going to stick with the hot Red Sox here today. Play Boston. |
04-10-21 | Angels v. Blue Jays -110 | 1-15 | Win | 100 | 10 h 19 m | Show
The LA Angels bring a two-game win streak into tonight's game against the Blue Jays. The Angels are now 6-2 on the season and averaging 5.9 rpg this season. The Toronto Blue Jays will try to snap a 4-game losing streak after starting the season 3-1 they are now 3-5. The Angels will start Jose Quintana. Quintana makes his second start after going 3 1/3 innings in his first and allowing five hits and four runs against the Astros. Steven Matz also makes his second start for the Jays. Matz had a nice start in game one, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing just two hits and one run to the Rangers. I'll take Matz and the Jays here to snap their losing streak. |
04-10-21 | Yankees v. Rays +124 | 0-4 | Win | 124 | 2 h 44 m | Show
Both the Yankees and the Rays off to sub-par starts this season as both teams are 3-4 through their first seven games. The Yankees have lost two straight games heading into today. The Yankees will send Domingo German to the hill for the second time this year. German hopes to do better than his first start that went just 3-innings with four hits and three runs in a loss to the Jays. Tampa Bay will send Chris Archer to the hill for the first time this year. Close matchup here, but I'll take the Rays with Archer. |
04-09-21 | A's v. Astros OVER 8.5 | 6-2 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Oakland not happy with their start to the season, winning just one of their first eight games. They have also given up a lot of runs, 7.4 rpg to be exact. Now they face a big hitting Houston team here today that is averaging 7.3 runs per game on offense. Sean Manaea gets his second start of the season. He went 4 2/3 innings in his first start vs the Astros, allowing five runs and two home runs. Lance McCullers Jr gets his second start for the Astros. He beat the A's in game two of the season, going five strong innings, allowing two hits and one run. Astros should get plenty of runs here today as this game goes OVER. |
04-08-21 | Brewers -133 v. Cardinals | 1-3 | Loss | -133 | 4 h 43 m | Show
Milwaukee Brewers are 3-3 to start the season and have won their last two games. They face the St Louis Cardinals who are 4-2 and have won three games in a row. The Brewers will start Corbin Burnes today. Burnes is 0-1 after his first start. He had an excellent game, going 6 1/3 innings against the Twins, allowing just one hit and one run to go with 11 Strike outs. St Louis starts Adam Wainwright. Unlike Burnes, Wainwright did not have a good first start. He went just 2 2/3 innings against the Reds, allowing 7 hits and six runs. Burnes pitched in bad luck in his first start and I'm going to back him here today against the Cards. Play Milwaukee. |
04-07-21 | Dodgers -1.5 v. A's | 3-4 | Loss | -103 | 5 h 50 m | Show
LA Dodgers off to a very good start at 5-1 on the season. Can't say the same for the Oakland A's who are still looking for their first win of the season against six losses. Won't be any easier today for the A's as they face Dodger newcomer Trevor Bauer. Bauer came over from the Reds in the offseason and had an excellent first start for the Dodgers, going 6 1/3 innings with just three hits and four runs to get the win over Colorado. He struck out 10 and walked just two. Jesus Luzardo will try to get the A's in the win column today. Luzardo is 0-1 after one start. He went 5 innings vs the Astros, giving up eight hits and five runs in the loss. I'm going to take the Dodgers here today and lay the run and a half. Play LA -1 1/2 runs. |
04-06-21 | Mets v. Phillies +119 | 8-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 26 m | Show
Mets finally getting to play some games after having to sit through some Covid issues with the Nationals. They have played just one game and that was a loss yesterday to these Phillies, 3-5. Meanwhile, Philadelphia improved to 4-0 this season after their win over the Mets on Sunday. Now today they are a small dog at home against this Mets team that has just the one game played. I'll take the dog line here today. Play Philadelphia. |
04-06-21 | Cardinals v. Marlins -125 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -125 | 8 h 0 m | Show |
St Louis off to a 2-2 start to their season while the Miami Marlins are 1-3. John Gant will make his first start of the season for the Cardinals. Sandy Alacantara will make his second start for the Marlins. Alacantara had an excellent first start against the Rays back on opening day. He went six innings and allowed just two hits and no runs in a no decision. I like Alacantara again here today. Play Miami. |
04-04-21 | Cardinals -109 v. Reds | 1-12 | Loss | -109 | 2 h 53 m | Show
St Louis and Cincinnati have split the first two games of this series. Carlos Martinez gets the start here today for the redbirds. Jeff Hoffman will counter for the Reds. The Reds took Saturday's contest, 9-6 after losing on Thursday, 6-11. This contest looks to be another high scoring affair, but for me I'm leaning toward the visitor in this one. Play St Louis. |
04-04-21 | Braves v. Phillies +100 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 2 h 47 m | Show
Philly looking for the three-game sweep here today against Atlanta. The Phillies send Zach Eflin to the mound for his first start while the Braves look to get their first win with Ian Anderson on the hill. Philly took the first game back on Thursday, 3-2 and then shutout the Braves on Saturday, 4-0. The Braves offense looks to be a bit behind right now and for me that means I'll take Philly again here today. Play Philadelphia. |
04-03-21 | Braves -112 v. Phillies | 0-4 | Loss | -112 | 5 h 56 m | Show
Both teams had Friday off, but return here today for game two of their series. The Braves tied the scored 2-2 late in game one, but lost in the 10th on a walk off base hit by the Phillies. The National League East champs from last year look to rebound here today at Philly. Braves pitcher Morton had a down year with Tampa Last year so he's looking for some redemption this year. I like the Braves to bounce back here today. Play Atlanta. |
04-02-21 | Rays -105 v. Marlins | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
A pair of Florida rivals meet here today on the 2nd day of the baseball season as the Tampa Bay Rays take on the Miami Marlins. The Rays will start Ryan Yarbrough. Glasnow got the start yesterday and went a strong six innings and allowed just one hit in the team's win over the Marlins. Yarbrough was 1-4 with a 3.56 ERA in his 11 games from 2020. The Marlins will start Pablo Lopez. Lopez was 6-4 with a 3.61 ERA in his 11 appearances in 2020. Line is basically a picke'm here, but I'll stick with the team from the West Coast. Play the Rays. |
04-01-21 | Rangers v. Royals UNDER 8.5 | 10-14 | Loss | -102 | 4 h 22 m | Show
Kansas City had the best record in the Cactus League of Spring training with a 16-8 mark. They had one of the better run differentials in +24. One big loss though will be that of Adalberto Mondesi, their starting shortstop who will being the season on the IL with a oblique strain. Texas also had a decent spring training with a 14-12 record. They did have a negative run differential though at -6 runs. We can't put a lot of stock in preseason, but I won't be convinced their anemic hitting teams will do much until I see it for myself. I'll take UNDER here to start their season. |
10-27-20 | Rays +130 v. Dodgers | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 21 h 4 m | Show |
The Dodgers on the edge of winning their first World Series since 1988. They showed little effects of that horrid loss in game four with a bounce back to take game five and a 3-2 lead. Blake Snell will try to keep the Rays in the series tonight. Snell did well in his start against the Dodgers, going 4 2/3 innings and allowing two hits and two runs. Tony Gonsolin will start here tonight for the Dodgers. Gonsolin started against Snell in their last matchup with Gonsolin going just 1 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and one run. I have a big edge in starters here tonight to the Rays. Yet they are still a dog. I'll take that dog price. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-25-20 | Dodgers v. Rays +150 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
What a great game four in the World Series. Back and forth they went with each team taking leads multiple times. Then Jansen came in the 9th with the Dodgers leading 7-6 and of course with two outs and a 1-2 count on Phillips he gave up the hit to tie the game and a subsequent error allowed the winning run to score. Why HC Dave Roberts continues to use Jansen in situations like this I have no idea. With all the young, strong arms he had available he had to go to Jansen. Well, it cost you Dave and maybe the World Series and possibly your job if you lose. For me, this was a huge let down for the Dodgers and that might just carry over to today's game. The Rays have their ace in Glasnow going and Kershaw has been excellent, but it is the playoffs. I'm taking the nice dog price with the Rays who should be pumped up here today. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-24-20 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Rays | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 3 m | Show
The Dodgers have been flexing their offensive muscles in this series. Mookie Betts is paying dividends in his first year as he continues to be Mr Everything for the Dodgers. LA can take a 3-1 lead in the series with a win tonight. The Rays offensive struggles continued again last night. They did break out in game two with a big night, but that has been far and few between for the Rays. The Dodgers pitching staff has been just as good if not better than the Rays. I don't see the Rays being able to keep these Dodgers bats down. I'm going to lay the Run Line here tonight with the Dodgers. |
10-24-20 | Dodgers v. Rays OVER 8 | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 6 h 3 m | Show
The Dodgers have been flexing their offensive muscles in this series. I'm going to take the OVER here tonight. |
10-23-20 | Dodgers v. Rays +146 | 6-2 | Loss | -100 | 29 h 53 m | Show
The Rays tied up the series on Wednesday with a 8-3 win over the Dodgers. Their bats finally came alive, especially that of Lowe. Lowe was their best hitter during the regular season, but has had a horrible post season. He finally broke on in game two with a pair of home runs. In fact, all the bats have improved for the Rays. The Dodgers went the bullpen way, starting Gonsolin as he went just over one inning and then turned the game over to the pen who could not hold the Rays down. Dodgers Ace Walker Beuhler will start here on Friday. Beuhler got the big win over the Braves in the NLCS, going six strong innings and allowing no runs and no walks. Charlie Morton will toe the rubber for the Rays. Morton has won all three of his postseason starts, allowing just two runs over his 15 2/3 innings. I'm sticking with the live dog here in game three. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-21-20 | Rays +124 v. Dodgers | 6-4 | Win | 124 | 8 h 26 m | Show
Game 2 of the World Series here on Wednesday. Game 1 looked to be a great pitcher's duel early between Glasnow and Kershaw. Both pitchers were cruising along until the 4th when the Dodgers got on the board with a 2-run home run. Then in the 5th the Dodgers broke it open and never looked back in their 8-3 win. Tonight, the Rays start Blake Snell. Snell lost to the Astros in the ALCS, allowing two runs and three hits over his four innings. Snell has an overall 3.23 ERA on the season. The Dodgers will start Tony Gonsolin. Gonsolin was hit hard by the Braves in the NLCS, giving up five runs over 4 1/3 innings. That's now nine runs he's allowed over his last 10 1/3 innings. Almost a must game here tonight for the Rays. I'll take the dog price again and look for a better outcome tonight. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-20-20 | Rays +165 v. Dodgers | Top | 3-8 | Loss | -100 | 20 h 60 m | Show |
The LA Dodgers pulled the big upset in the NLCS after being down 1-3 to pull out the next three wins and advance to the World Series. The Tampa Bay Rays also had something similar happen when they blew a 3-1 lead to the Astros, but held on for the win in game seven. Tyler Glasnow gets the start here in game one. Glasnow was 7-2 on the season with a 4.23 ERA. He lost to the Astros in the ALCS, allowing eight hits over six innings to go with four runs. The Dodgers will start Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw lost to the Braves in the NLCS, going just five innings and allowing seven hits and four runs. Kershaw was battling back problems and had is start pushed back a few days. The Rays have excellent starting pitching and in game one I look for a upset winner on the Rays. Play Tampa Bay |
10-18-20 | Braves +147 v. Dodgers | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 50 m | Show
Dodgers were down 1-3 in this series with the Braves, but have clawed their way back to tie it up and force a game seven. The Astros did the same to the Rays, but just couldn't overcome the deficit as today's winner fill face Tampa Bay in the World Series. Ian Anderson goes for the Braves. I really like this pitcher. He's only 3-2, but he has an ERA of just 1.95 and a WHIP of 1.08. Anderson faced the Dodgers back in game two, going four strong innings and allowing no runs and just one hit. Only problem was he walked five batters, something he can ill afford to do here today. The Dodgers have yet to announce a starter, but it looks like they will go the same route as they did in game two and start a reliever in Gonsolin. Either way, I like Anderson as a dog and that's who I'm taking no matter who the Dodgers start. Play ATLANTA. |
10-16-20 | Astros v. Rays UNDER 8 | 7-4 | Loss | -112 | 19 h 56 m | Show
If you have watched this series then you have seen some excellent pitching. Both teams have excellent starters and very strong pens with big arms. But one thing that the hitters didn't want to contend with are the horrible shadows that PetCo Park in San Diego causes just at these times of the day. With this game starting in the afternoon, they will once again have to deal with those horrific shadows that make those hard throwers even more difficult to pick up. For that reason plus the excellent staffs, I'm sticking with the under here on Friday. Play UNDER. |
10-14-20 | Rays -137 v. Astros | 3-4 | Loss | -137 | 19 h 30 m | Show
Errors and lack of clutch hitting have really hurt the Houston Astros in this series. The Astros are down 0-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays after another error filled third game, especially by 2B Altuve who opened the door for big innings in these games. Altuve looks to have taken a page out of the Steve Saks playbook all of a sudden and can't make routine throws. In addition, the Astros have left 31 runners on base through the first three games of this series. The pitching has just been superb for the Rays. They allowed the Astros one run in game one, then two runs in game two and another two in game three. The Astros face game one starter Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow only went 2 1/3 innings in game one, but allowed no hits and no runs to the Astros. It was thought Zack Grienke would miss this series with a sore arm, but he's received extra time off and looks ready to go here tonight. Grienke gave up four runs and five hits in his postseason start vs the A's. Just too much on the side of the Rays as I look for the sweep here on Wednesday. Play Tampa Bay Rays. |
10-14-20 | Dodgers v. Braves OVER 9.5 | 15-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show
The Dodgers are already in the position of a "must win" game here on Wednesday as they trail the Atlanta Braves 0-2. The Dodgers fell behind 0-6 in Tuesday's game and rallied late to a 7-8 loss with the tying run on third base. Clayton Kershaw was supposed to start that game two, but back spasms had him replaced. The Dodgers can ill afford to fall back to 0-3 and as such they will be counting on Julio Urias here today. Urias has been very good of late, allowing no earned runs over his last two starts with just four hits. Moreover, Urias hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last five starts. Kyle Wright will start for the Braves. Wright is just 2-4 on the season with a 5.21 ERA. Wright has pitched better of late, allowing just two runs over his last three starts. Two very good offenses here tonight as I look for this one to go OVER the total. |
10-13-20 | Braves +158 v. Dodgers | 8-7 | Win | 158 | 6 h 53 m | Show
This NLCS looks to be dominated by pitching and that's just what we got in game one as the teams were tied 1-1 late into the game until the Braves finally broke out with a 3-1 win to take a 1-0 series lead. Tonight Jim loves the dog in this game because of their starting pitcher. Ian Anderson gets the start for the Braves with a 5-2 record in his eight starts. Anderson has a great 1.43 ERA and 0.977 WHIP. Anderson has not allowed an earned run over his last three starts (17 1/3 innings. Still, he's a big dog tonight because he's facing veteran Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw is 8-2 on the season with a 2.12 ERA and 0.816 WHIP. Kershaw did allow three earned runs over six innings to the Padres in the NLDS. Really, Anderson has outpitched Kershaw this season and I'll take the big dog price here tonight. Play Atlanta. |
10-12-20 | Astros v. Rays -123 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 34 m | Show
The Rays took a 1-0 lead in this best of seven series with a 2-1 win in game one on Sunday. This looks to be a very tight pitching series and that's just what we say in game one. The Astros will start Lance McCullers here today. McCullers is 3-3 in his 12 starts with a 4.27 ERA and 1.237 WHIP. McCullers got hit fairly hard vs Oakland in the ALDS, giving up four earned runs over four innings. Prior to that start he had allowed no runs over his previous three starts (17 2/3 innings). Charlie Morton will get the nod for the Rays. Morton was 3-2 on the season with a 4.40 ERA. Morton beat the Yankees in the ALDS, allowing just four hits over five runs with one earned run. Morton has been very consistent, allowing three runs or fewer in each of his nine starts. I'm taking the Rays again here in game two as I believe their pitching is just better overall. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-09-20 | Yankees v. Rays +144 | 1-2 | Win | 144 | 15 h 27 m | Show
The Yankees forced a fifth and decisive game here today with the Rays with the winner moving on to the ALCS. The Yankees won game four, 5-1 and have scored at least four run in every game of the series. Gerrit Cole gets another start in this series. Cole got the win in game one, going six innings and allowing six hits and three earned runs. The three runs were the most he's allowed since August 31st. Tyler Glasnow went five innings in game one, allowing four runs on three hits. The Yankee bats aren't as hot as they were in the Wild Card round and the first few games of this series. This game will likely be settled by the bullpens and for me, that's an edge to the Rays. It's just a plus that I get the Rays as a dog here today. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-08-20 | A's v. Astros OVER 9.5 | 6-11 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Game four here as the A's looked to stave off elimination in game three trailing 0-2 to the Astros. The A's won 9-7 in another wild shootout at Dodger Stadium. Dodger Stadium has long been known as a pitcher park, but not now. It has the highest runs in the postseason and every game thus far has been high scoring in this series. The A's likely without closer Liam Hendricks today as he had to go three innings in their win on Wednesday. Zack Greinke will go tonight after he was thought to miss the series with a sore arm. Helps our case for the total even more tonight as it looks like Greinke won't be 100%. The pitching staff will be thin for the Astros here on Thursday. Looks like another hitters game from the Launching pad on Thursday. With pitching being thin on both sides I expect another high scoring game here today. Play OVER. |
10-07-20 | Rays v. Yankees OVER 9 | 8-4 | Win | 102 | 6 h 22 m | Show
The Yankees are healthy for the first time all season and it's showed with their bats. The Yankees have scored at least five runs in each of their playoff games. In fact, during their series with the Indians they score 22 runs in two games. And that's against one of the better pitching staffs this year in baseball. They opened with a 9-3 win over the Rays in game one of this series and then lost yesterday in game two, 5-7. Yet, we see just a total of nine on tonight's contest. Charlie Morton has a 4.74 ERA for the Rays this year. Masahiro Tanaka has just a 4.33 ERA for the Yankees. I don't see this game going any other way than OVER. |
10-06-20 | Yankees v. Rays -120 | Top | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 20 h 13 m | Show |
The New York Yankees are healthy for the first time all season and it's showed here in the playoffs as their bats have been on fire. The TB Rays kept them down most of the night on Monday as the score was 4-3 Yankees heading into the top of the 9th. However, the Yankees bats once again exploded in the 9th for five runs. The Yankees take a 1-0 lead in this best of five series. The Rays can ill afford to go down 0-2 in this series and will turn to Tyler Glasngow in game two. Glasnow was 5-1 for the Rays this year with a 4.08 ERA. Glasnow has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last three starts. The Yankees Deivi Garcia will toe the rubber on Tuesday. Garcia was 3-2 this year with a 4.98 ERA. Garcia hasn't pitched that well of late, allowing 10 earned runs over his last 9 2/3 innings. This is the spot for the Rays to take a win against a Yankee pitcher in Garcia that has struggled of late. No love lost between these teams so the Rays would love nothing more than to run up the score. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-06-20 | Astros v. A's -110 | 5-2 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 40 m | Show
Dodger Stadium is usually a pitcher friendly park, but it wasn't so on Monday as these teams used it as a launching pad as the Astros took game one of this best of five series, 10-5. Game two here on Tuesday has Framber Valdez making the start for the Astros. Valdez was 5-3 on the season with a 3.57 ERA. Valdez has won four straight games and has allowed just two earned runs over his last three starts. Sean Manaea will oppose for the A's. Manaea was 4-3 on the season with a 4.50 ERA. Manaea has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last seven starts. A's need this game today or fall down 0-2 in a best of five series. I'm taking the A's in this one. Play Oakland. |
10-06-20 | Marlins +182 v. Braves | 5-9 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 11 m | Show
The Miami Marlins are 7-0 in their playoff history winning series. They have their work cut out for them in this series thought against the Atlanta Braves as they begin their best of five in the NLDS. The Braves are led by their pitching, which was on display in the Wild Card round vs the Reds as they swept Cincy 2-0 and didn't allow a single run in 22 innings. The Marlins followed a similar script, allowing just one run in their sweep the Chicago Cubs. Braves Ace Max Fried will start game one here today. Fried is 7-0 on the season with a 2.25 ERA. He went seven innings vs the Reds and allowed six hits and no runs in the win. The fish will start Sandy Alcantara, who was 3-2 this season with a 3.00 ERA. Alcantara went 6 2/3 vs the Cubs and allowed just one run and three hits. Should be a series dominated by pitching, but I'm taking a chance here with the high dog price on a very good Marlins team. Play Miami. |
10-05-20 | Astros v. A's UNDER 8 | 10-5 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 12 m | Show
The ALDS begins here on Monday with the Astros facing the A's. This series will be in Dodgers Stadium in LA with the winning moving on to the AL Championship Series. Both teams won their Wildcard round best of three and now this is best of five before moving into best of seven for the ALCS. Lance McCullers will start for the Astros. McCullers was 3-3 on the season with a 3.93 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. McCullers has lost his last four games, though he's allowed just three earned runs over 17.2 innings. Chris Bassitt will start for the A's. Bassitt was 5-2 on the season with a 2.29 ERA. Bassitt has won five straight games and has allowed just two earned runs over his last 33.2 innings. Should be a very good pitchers duel. I'm taking the UNDER. |
10-02-20 | Cardinals v. Padres OVER 9 | 0-4 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 4 m | Show
Game three of this series and it's all tied up at 1-1 as the winner of tonight's contest will move on to the next round of the playoffs. The Cardinals took game one and looked in control of game two. But a rally by the Padres saved the day and they get to play again. The Cards will send Jack Flaherty to the hill today. Flaherty is 4-3 in his nine starts with a 4.91 ERA. However, he's been horrible on the road, posting a 9.45 ERA in his four games. Adrian Morejon will start for the Padres with a 0-1 record in his four starts with a 4.82 ERA. Neither pitcher will likely be around long, especially Morejon who likely will go only an inning or two. For me, I love this game to go over the total. Play OVER. |
10-01-20 | White Sox v. A's -101 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 48 m | Show
Final game of this series as the White Sox took game one and the A's rebounded in game two, 5-3. No day off here as the teams come right back on Thursday for the third and final game of this series. The A's might be without their closer in Hendricks who had to go last night to preserve the win. Hendricks doesn't usually go in back-to-back games, but he might be forced to here today. Dane Dunning will go for the Sox with a 2-0 record and 3.97 ERA on the season. He will be opposed by Mike Fiers who is 6-3 with a 4.58 ERA. Tough game here today, but I give the edge to Fiers who has been winning games all season. The A's might not need their closer in this one if they blow them out. Take the A's |
10-01-20 | White Sox v. A's OVER 8.5 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 47 m | Show
Final game of this series as the White Sox took game one and the A's rebounded in game two, 5-3. Take the OVER. |
09-30-20 | Yankees -116 v. Indians | 10-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
This best of 3 series could be the end today for the Cleveland Indians if they can't find a way to slow down this Yankees lineup. The Yankees led the AL in runs and they proved it to the Indians in game 1 with 12 runs in the AL Wild card series. Masahiro Tanaka will start for the Yankees today. Tanaka was 3-3 in his 10 starts with a 3.56 ERA. The Indians will send Carlos Carrasco to the hill. Carrasco was 3-4 in his 12 regular season starts with a 2.91 ERA. Carrasco will have his hands full with this Yankees lineup today. I'm going to stick with the hot bats and those are the Yankees. Play New York. |
09-30-20 | White Sox v. A's UNDER 7.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 24 m | Show
The White Sox took game one of this series with the Oakland A's on Tuesday, 4-1. That takes a lot of pressure off the Sox here today as they send lefty Dallas Keuchel to the hill. Keuchel was 6-2 in his 11 starts this season with a nifty 1.99 ERA and 1.090 WHIP. Keuchel finished strong, allowing just two total runs over his last four starts (20 innings). The A's will try to even this series with righty Chris Bassitt. Bassitt was 5-2 in his 11 starts with a 2.29 ERA and 1.159 WHIP. Bassitt was equally strong down the stretch, allowing just one earned run over his last 26 1/3 innings. This will be another great pitcher's duel today and for me, I'll take the UNDER and enjoy the low scoring affair. Play UNDER. |
09-30-20 | Astros v. Twins UNDER 8 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 22 m | Show
The Houston Astros took game one of this playoff series with the favored Minnesota Twins on Tuesday, 4-1. The game was tied in the 9th inning before the Astros got a bases loaded 2-out walk and a 2-out single to push across three runs and steal game one. The Astros will send Lance McCullers to the hill. McCullers is 3-3 in his 11 starts with a 3.93 ERA. However, he's had some excellent starts of late. In two of his last four starts he's allowed no runs. The Twins turn to Jose Berrios. Berrios is 5-4 in his 12 starts with a 4.00 ERA. Berrios wasn't great his last start, allowing four runs over five innings. However, before that he allowed 5 total runs over four starts (22 innings). This series looks to be a very tight, close and low scoring one. I'm taking UNDER here in game two. |
09-30-20 | Reds v. Braves UNDER 7.5 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 21 m | Show
The earliest game here on Wednesday's Playoffs will have the Cincinnati Reds playing at the Atlanta Braves. The Reds finished the regular season in 3rd place in the NL Central with a 31-29 record. The Atlanta Braves were 1st in the NL East with a 35-25 record. Treor Bauer will go here for the Reds. Bauer was 5-4 in his 11 starts, but had a very good 1.73 ERA and 0.795 WHIP that really warranted a better overall record. Bauer didn't allow more than two runs in any of his last five starts. Max Fried was the Ace for the Braves and rightly so. Fried was a perfect 7-0 in his 11 starts with a 2.25 ERA. Fried was so consistent that he allowed more than two runs just one time in 11 starts and that was only three runs. Don't expect the Reds to get much here today, they need Bauer to keep pace. With that, this is an UNDER play for me. |
09-29-20 | Yankees v. Indians -104 | 12-3 | Loss | -104 | 20 h 40 m | Show
The Yankees and Indians start their playoff series here today. Gerrit Cole starts for the Yankees and he finished the season great with a 7-3 record and 2.84 ERA. Cole allowed just two runs over his last three starts (21 innings). Shane Bieber was equally as good for the Tribe with a 8-1 record and 1.63 ERA in his 12 starts. Bieber allowed 1 run or fewer in five of his last eight starts. Both these pitchers have been excellent, but for me I'm going with Bieber who has been much more consistent. I'll take Bieber at this great price. |
09-29-20 | Astros v. Twins -157 | 4-1 | Loss | -157 | 15 h 39 m | Show
The Minnesota Twins won the AL Central, barely getting by both the White Sox and the Indians who each finished one game back. The Houston Astros won one of the Wild Card games as they finished 2nd in the AL West, seven games back of the A's. The Astros didn't even finish at .500 with a 29-31 record. Meanwhile, the Twins finished 12 games over the .500 mark. Zack Greinke will start for the Astros with a 4.03 ERA and a 3-3 record. He will face Kenta Maeda for the Twins who was 6-1 in his 11 starts with a 2.70 ERA and 0.750 WHIP. Maeda was consistent all season, allowing three runs or fewer in every start. I like the Twins in this opening game. Play Minnesota. |
09-25-20 | Astros -1.5 v. Rangers | 4-5 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Houston needs today's game to help them gain one of those Wild Card spots and this Texas team is standing in their way. Texas has made no bones about it, they will do their best to stop them here tonight. Didn't work out too well for them yesterday as the Astros destroyed the Rangers. I look for a duplicate of last night's contest as the Astros look to take control of that final Wild Card slot. Lay the 1.5 runs with the Astros. |
09-24-20 | Astros v. Rangers UNDER 8 | 12-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 20 m | Show
The Houston Astros could miss the playoffs with their 28-28 record. They won't catch the A's for first place as they trail by 6 1/2 games in the AL West. They trail Toronto for the final playoff spot by one game. It doesn't help that they are just 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Rangers are in last in the AL West and just playing out the final week. Cristian Javier starts for the Astros with a 4-2 record and 3.55 ERA. Lance Lynn had an excellent season for the Rangers as he makes one of his final starts. Lynn is 6-2 in his 12 starts with a 2.53 ERA. Both pitchers are above average and neither team has been providing much offense of late. I'm taking the UNDER here today. |
09-24-20 | White Sox v. Indians UNDER 7.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 25 m | Show
White Sox and Indians both have clinched playoff spots as we enter the last week before the postseason. However, while both hold Wildcard spots right now, they are still within 2 1/2 games of 1st place Minnesota for first place. Dallas Keuchel will start today for the White Sox. Keuchel is 6-2 in his 10 starts with a 2.04 ERA and 1.099 WHIP. Keuchel has been great lately, allowing no earned runs over his last three starts (14 innings). Zach Plesac toes the rubber today for the Tribe. Plesac is 4-2 with a 1.85 ERA and 0.781 WHIP. Aside from one bad start, Plesac has allowed one or no runs in four of his last five starts. Two excellent pitchers here today and for me that's an UNDER. |
09-22-20 | Rays -125 v. Mets | 2-5 | Loss | -125 | 6 h 54 m | Show
Tampa Bay and the Yankees have both clinched playoff spots. The Rays look to hold onto the top spot as they have a 4.5 game lead in the AL East over the Yankees. Both teams have been hot with the Rays winning seven of their last 10 and the Yankees winning eight of their last 10. Blake Snell goes today for the Rays. Snell is 4-1 in his 10 starts with a 3.05 ERA. Snell has allowed just one run over his last 10 2/3 innings. Seth Lugo will toe the rubber for the Yankees. Lugo is 1-1 in his five starts with a 5.30 ERA and 1.500 WHIP. Lugo has been hit rather hard of late, allowing nine runs over his last 7 innings of work. I like the visitor in this one. Take the Rays. |
09-21-20 | Cubs -150 v. Pirates | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 48 m | Show
Cubs looking to clinch a playoff spot this week as they are in 1st place in the NL Central with a 31-22 record. They have a 3 1/2 game lead over the Cardinals. Jon Lester will start today for the Cubs. Lester is 2-2 on the season with a 4.91 ERA. Lester has pitched well of late, allowing two runs over his last 11 innings with 9 KO's and 3 Walks. The Pirates have lost four straight and nine of their last 10 games. J.T Brubaker will start for the Pirates. Brubaker is 1-2 with a 5.58 ERA and 1.500 WHIP. Brubaker has allowed eight runs over his last 10 1/3 innings. Cubs should have no trouble today with the Bucs as they close in on clinching that playoff spot. Play the Cubs. |
