Both Players are off a solid 2025 season but Shelton has really had alot of success here reaching the Quarters and the Semifinals over the last 3 years. Humbert who has not fared well here through the years did make it to the 4th round last season and is dangerous coming off a semifinal appearance at the Adelaide. Humbert has taken out some of the biggest manes in the game but with Shelton so good here even his overall tactical game may not be enough to win against the big serving Shelton. Humbert should do well enough to pull these sets close and enabling the match to have heavy scoring sets, he did take out two top top 5 seeds last week. Shelton lost in straight sets to Baez last out so he does have his off days. This is one of the best and most competitive 1st round matches as Shelton is now ranked in the top 10. Look for a long match that plays over 41.5 total games
