Week 1 NFL Football Predictions
Larry Cook and his InfoPlays team of handicapping experts are ready to help you bring home the bacon with their week 1 NFL predictions. Here’s a little trick of the trade using the point spreads and totals to help you figure out what the oddsmakers feel the projected score of a game will be. If you think, based on this score, that they are off the mark, you may want to take advantage of their line mistake. If you feel they are dead on, you’ll probably want to leave that matchup alone. I think you will find that it helps to see the scores written out and you may want to start doing this as a part of your weekly handicapping practices. This also will help you in your office pool with your buddies as you’ll pick the most straight up winners.

After looking at the scores that the oddsmakers have projected, it’s much easier to find where you feel mistakes have been made based on your own knowledge and expertise of these teams and matchups. For example, I don’t feel the Dolphins offense is even worth 16 points as I have the Washington Redskins’ defense chalked up to have a much better year. Off first glance this looks like a good unders opportunity. Further research and consideration of other angles will lead me to know if this is going to be a play for the week and how strongly I will play it. A red flag also went up when I saw the Falcons/Vikings score. Atlanta relies on the run and will now more than ever this season if they hope to get anything done. Minnesota is the best run stopping team in the league and will likely not allow Atlanta anything. On the other side of things, I feel like the Vikes are going to have to show me that they can be a solid offensive team as well because they are very one dimensional. This could be another possibility as an under play in week one.
