The Miami Dolphins travel to the Capital city to take on the Redskins in an AFC East vs. NFC East battle. Both teams are coming off disappointing 2006 campaigns and will hope to climb the ladder in their respective divisions. We’ll watch to see how Cam Cameron’s offense looks for the Dolphins as he brings his offensive expertise from San Diego to South Beach.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against defending the NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks in this week one bout. We’ll watch to see if Jeff Garcia still has some magic left as he tries to make the Bucs an offensive threat. The Bucs still figure to be terrible and the only thing on their side here is that this is week one and Seattle will still have some things to iron out.

The Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers go head to head in a NFC West battle in week one. A surprise seven win season has hopes high for the Niners in 2007. We’ll watch young guns Matt Leinart and Frank Gore show off their stuff in this matchup of two youthful teams.

The title of best offense in the NFC last season was owned by the New Orleans Saints. The Colts have had one of the best offenses in football period for some time. We don’t have to look too hard to see why this one is intriguing as MVP runner-up Drew Brees opposes Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning in this heavyweight slugfest.

The Eagles figure to be the class of the NFC East this season with Donovan McNabb returning under center healthy and fit. He’ll test his skills against the ageless wonder, Brett Favre, and a Packers team which figures to surprise in 2007.

The Titans and the Jags give us a little taste of AFC South division action in week one. No one can wait to see Vince Young get on the field again against this tough as nails Jacksonville defense.

The New England Patriots and the New York Jets are slated to be the top two teams in the AFC East this season and the NFL will waste no time giving us a primetime taste of major divisional action. Find out how Patriots’ newcomer Randy Moss looks in his first regular season game with his new team. And see if Eric Mangini will have any surprises for his mentor Bill Belichick.

The defending NFC Champion Chicago Bears have their work cut out for themselves as they travel to San Diego to take on LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers. It will be interesting to see how the Chargers look under a completely new coaching staff and we will see if Rex Grossman and the Bears offense starts the season the way they did last year or if they pick up where they left off.

The Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills get together for this Non-division matchup. The Broncos are thought to be a playoff team while the Bills are expected to be a team in transition. Watch to see if Buffalo can pull off a big upset right out of the gates.

The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals collide in what should be one of the better week one matchups. Already, in week one, this game could go along way in deciding this division. The division’s best offense goes against its best defense. Should be a dandy.

The New York Giants versus the Dallas Cowboys seemed intriguing to me last year but not as much in 2007. The Cowboys will be out to prove that they will be better without the Tuna and Coughlin will set out this season to hopefully save his job yet again. But I guess any game that TO plays in is one worth watching for the antics alone.

The Carolina Panthers were one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL in 2006. Many think 2007 is this teams last chance for a title with their current nucleus. A week one loss to St. Louis could be enough of a bad vibe to haunt this team the rest of the year.

The Kansas City Chiefs versus the Houston Texans may get the vote for least cared about week one matchup. To see how Matt Schaub, the former Falcons back up, does is worth watching for I guess. I hope he tears it up to make the Falcons kick themselves for getting rid of him now that Vick isn’t able to play.

Some of you are probably saying, “you don’t think the Lions versus the Raiders is the worst week one matchup.” I’m excited to see Calvin Johnson fly up and down the field for the Lions and hopefully we’ll see QB JaMarcus Russell too.

It’s going to be odd watching the Steelers and not seeing the fiery Bill Cowher roaming the sidelines. The Cleveland Browns’ faithful are probably wishing that Romeo Crennel wasn’t still on their sidelines. This AFC North matchup is really only significant because it’s a division game. It really shouldn’t tell us anything about these teams we don’t already know.
