Ultimate Fighter 5 Odds | Penn v. Pulver

The Ultimate Fighter 5 odds have been released for the bout between the two coaches this season, BJ Penn and Jens Pulver. The event will take place on June 23rd, 2007 and will be aired on Spike TV. Both of these guys are former champions with Pulver being a UFC Lightweight champ and Penn being a former UFC Welterweight champ who is cutting weight down to the lightweight division.

BJ Penn will come into this bout at 10-4 with four knockouts and three submission victories. He has great striking skills and has already lost a decision to Jens Pulver. His most notable victory came against Matt Hughes in 2004 at UFC 46. Penn beat Hughes by using a rear naked choke at a time when Hughes had beaten everyone available and looked nearly unbeatable. He has lost three of his last four matches, the last two against Matt Hughes and Georges St. Pierre.
Pulver is 21-7 with thirteen knockouts and two submissions. He is coming off his first ever loss in the UFC back at UFC 63 against Joe Lauzon back in September. He had won his previous six fights in the UFC before leaving in February of 2001. He can compete with boxers, submissions experts, and wrestlers so this should be a very interesting match to watch.
