The UFC 71 odds are now out for the two major matches between light heavyweight champion Chuck “Iceman” Liddell and challenger Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and the welterweight matchup between Karo Parisyan and Josh Burkman.  The event will take place on Saturday, May 26th at 10 PM EST live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.   Liddell has been wanting a piece of Jackson for awhile now after losing in 2003 at Pride Final Conflict 2003.  This is Liddell’s only unavenged loss of his career and his record now stands at an impressive 20-3.   It’s even more impressive when you take a look at the list of fighters that he has faced as they are almost all big name guys.

This is only Jackson’s second fight in the Octagon and he is looking forward to the chance to gain UFC glory.  Most of his previous matches have been overseas in Pride.

Liddell is known as being a devastating striker, but his wrestling skills also shine through by how well his takedown defense keeps opponents on their feet.  He has knocked out his last seven opponents, the most recent victim being Tito Ortiz at UFC 66.  Liddell has no doubts about his ability to do the same against Jackson and avenge his last loss.

Rampage is known for his incredible strength, his power slams, and his great striking ability.  He made his UFC debut at UFC 67 in February by stopping Marvin Eastman with a TKO in the second round.  His motive on returning to the UFC has been to take the title away from Liddell, and that is why Dana White brought him into the organization.
