Washington had some growing pains in head coach Jim Zorn’s debut against the New York Giants in a 7-16 loss. In the New Orleans Saints vs Washington Redskins match-up Redskins QB Jason Campbell will need to keep up with a high-flying Saints offense that marked Tampa Bay for 444 total yards last week. New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush, will try and power a Saints rushing attack that has high expectations against the Redskins high-profile defense that also, has high expectations. The NFL betting odds for the New Orleans Saints vs Washington Redskins game is at Washington -1 at home.

The New Orleans Saints will look to put the heat on Washington QB Jason Campbell, with new defensive additions DT Sedrick Ellis and DE Bobby McCrary. Campbell looked out of sync in Washington’s new offense but, he did manage to connect with WR Santana Moss (4.25 40-time) for a TD strike. Santana Moss will look to score on some deep strikes against a Saints secondary that has a rookie starter and has been hit hard by injuries. Washington has a weapon in TE Chris Cooley, who will challenge the Saints linebackers and safeties. New Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will be counted on to stop the Redskins above-average running attack of Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts. The NFL betting odds TOTAL for the New Orleans Saints vs Washington Redskins game is at 42 points.

Drew Brees has the ability to take over games with his arm and his fleet of gifted wideouts. This week Brees, will have to make due without star WR Marques Colston, but, his backup WR Robert Meachem, (4.45- 40-time) is a good one. Washington will need a big game from their pass-rush to prevent Brees from bombing away. The Redskins could be playing without their best CB Shawn Springs who has a calf injury. Washington outside linebacker Marcus Washington will also be out with a hamstring injury, which could be a problem in coverage against Saints TE Jeremy Shockey. The Saints are counting on RB Reggie Bush to carry the load while #2 RB Deuce McAllister recovers from his knee injury. Backup RB Pierre Thomas did have a nice game last week against Tampa Bay rushing for 52 yards on 10 carries.

The Saints are going to try and blow Washington out of the water with their offense. The NFC East Redskins are still breaking in but, they do have some talented personell.
