Odds To Win 2007 SEC Football Conference

We take a look at one of the most popular conferences with our odds to win the 2007 SEC football conference.  When you take a look at this league you have to start with the LSU Tigers.  This team lost the number one draft pick and a couple of top receivers, yet the team is still one of the favorites to contend for the SEC and national titles and it’s easy to see why when you see what Les Miles has done for the team in his two years there.  This year’s team has the most talent yet on both sides of the ball and a schedule that could allow them to accomplish what they want to get done, and that is winning a national title.

Last year’s champions, the Florida Gators, are also a top choice among the bookmakers to repeat as SEC champions.  This is the favorite to win the East, but it’s going to be tough when they try to replace the amount of talent that they lost on both sides, particularly their defense.  Urban Meyer has done great things so far for the Gators, and he’s brought in some of the best recruiting classes in the nation so don’t expect too much of a letdown.  The Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers will both be in the hunt for the East’s berth for a trip to the Georgia Dome.  Tennessee seems pretty solid up and down the line with no glaring weaknesses.

In the West Auburn, Alabama, and last year’s division champions in the Arkansas Razorbacks will all be trying to keep LSU from the title game.  Auburn needs to find some offense to go with what will probably be the best defense in the league.  Alabama gets new head coach Nick Saban and good things are already being said about how things are being run down there.  Arkansas has Darren McFadden as a Heisman contender, but the passing game will be a little suspect and their defense probably won’t be quite good enough to lead them back to the Georgia Dome.
