Reasons why the Marquette/Notre Dame game goes OVER the Total Monday:

1.)  Both teams score more than 80.0 PPG.  Marquette is scoring 81.5 PPG while Notre Dame puts up 80.1 PPG on the season, including 83.8 PPG at home.  We feel both teams will be able to eclipse their season averages in a shootout Monday.

2.)  Marquette allows 49.1% shooting on the road.  The Golden Eagles have had a hard time defending in road games this season, despite not playing great competition in their road games.  Notre Dame will be the best team they have faced on the road all year, and will likely put up 90 points if Marquette allows them to shoot nearly 50% from the field.  But if they do score 90, Marquette has the talent on offense to make up for it as they have 3 players scoring more than 16 PPG in Wesley Mathews (19.2), Jerel McNeal (18.9) and Lazar Hayward (16.5). 

3.)  The OVER is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings.  Marquette and Notre Dame have combined to score 168, 169, 158, 158 and 152 points in those 5 meetings, respectively.  Looking at the last two meetings where nearly 170 combined points were scored, we feel the final score of this game will be right around the 170-point mark again considering each team has basically all of their players back from last season.
