Reasons why the Knicks cover the spread Wednesday:

1.)  Though the Clippers are playing better of late, they really don’t have much to play for.  Even a miraculous finish won’t get the Clippers in the playoffs.  Meanwhile, the New York Knicks still have a decent shot at getting in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference despite their recent struggles.  New York has lost 5 straight games, but 4 of those losses came against some the best teams in the NBA.  They lost to the Celtics, Lakers, Cavs, Blazers and Warriors during this stretch.  Now they finally get a team that they can and should beat in the L.A. Clippers tonight.

2.)  The Clippers are still just 2-8 SU & 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games.  All eight of those losses were by double-digits, so this team really hasn’t even been competitive.  Their two wins were against the Grizzlies and an Atlanta team that was playing without starting PG Mike Bibby.  Needless to say, those wins weren’t as impressive as they are cracked up to be.  The Clippers have been an underdog in more than 20 consecutive games, and they have no business being a favorite tonight.
