Baseball Betting Trends for June 2006
There are several teams that took the month of June to turn things around and really pick up some ground on other teams. The Boston Red Sox are trying to create some room between them and both the Yankees and Blue Jays. This team is now in first place in the AL East by 3.5 games and has played solidly at home going 25-10. The team isn’t losing a lot of ground when they hit the road where they are 21-18. This team has now won 10 straight games, picking up 5 games on both Toronto and New York during that time. Of course, we expect these kinds of runs out of Boston and if they can keep healthy and playing solid baseball we see them taking this division title and making a run in the playoffs.

The Tigers are another team that is leading their division, by 2.5 games over the defending world champion Chicago White Sox. This team is doing it by going 28-11 on the road and has put together a 6 game winning streak. This division is red hot with the Twins and White Sox both winning 9 out of their last 10 games so not a whole lot of space is being created.
The Minnesota Twins have been another team on the run, going 19-9 in their last 28 games but the problem is that they are not a very good road team, going 15-25 for the season. If they can keep protecting the MetroDome turf and start picking things up on the road then they could make a solid run to the top of the central division and get back in the Wild Card race.
The Oakland A’s are doing their patented June run, racing up to first place in the AL West. They have won 13 of their last 17 games and have raced past the Texas Rangers into first place in their division. Is Barry Zito going to be around very long? If this team starts to slip then I see their ace hitting the road, so this team either makes it or falls apart.
The team making a real move in the West is the Seattle Mariners, picking up some of their old form. They have gotten themselves back to .500 with their recent 3 game win streak and are only 3 games behind the A’s. They have won 8 out of 10 games and with Putz looking strong in the closer role and Felix Hernandez starting to finally pitch up to expectations, this team could make a move.
Five solid teams making moves in the month of June. Keep an eye out for these streaks and try to make some money off the hot teams and by going against the cold ones.
