The Jags loaded up in the off-season in an effort to make this the year they take the throne. Jacksonville QB David Garrard was one of the most efficient playcallers in the NFL last season and he should be even better in his second season as the starter. Garrard doesn’t have the elite receivers that one would like but he does have a devastating running game to rely on. The Titans are a team built to stop the run but Jaguars RB’s Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew are awesome. The NFL betting odds at Bookmaker on the over/under for the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans game is set at a low 36 1/2.
In order for the Titans to knock off the Jags at home they will need QB Vince Young to make some plays and avoid mistakes. Last year the Titans hammered the Jags for 282 yards on the ground, but the odds of that happening again are slim to none. Jacksonville’s well rounded defense is one the best in the NFL and they have added some much needed pass-rushing personnel. The Titans have some weapons on the ground with big-play rookie Chris Johnson and bulldozing RB LenDale White who could have some success if Young can gain respect early with his arm. Which of these teams wideouts will make a difference? Are the Jacksonville Jaguars the next Superbowl champions?
