Reasons why Oklahoma City covers the spread Tuesday:

1.)  The Thunder are 6-3 SU in their last 9 home games.  The games they lost came by 2 against the Rockets, 1 against Denver and 10 against Miami.  So with a line of +3 on all 9 of those games, the Thunder would have gone 8-1 ATS.  Oklahoma City has really been competitive at home and they will continue to play well tonight against the New Orleans Hornets who are still battling injuries.  Tyson Chandler and Mo Peterson will both be out for tonight’s game.

2.)  New Orleans is 2-6 SU & 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall.  Most of this downfall can be attributed to their injury woes, and with the Hornets still not fully healthy, we look for them to continue to struggle post All-Star Break.  OKC is 14-3 ATS after having lost 2 of their last 3 games this season.  New Orleans is 1-8 ATS after 2 straight games with 19 or less assists this season.

3.)  System Play.  We’ll Play Against – Road favorites (NEW ORLEANS) – excellent free throw shooting team (>=79%) against a good free throw shooting team (76-79%), in a game involving two average rebounding teams (+/-3 reb/game).  This is a 44-17 ATS System hitting 72.1% since 1996.  New Orleans should not be favored tonight after having lost 6 of their last 8 against a team that has won 6 of their last 9 home games.  Bet the Thunder at home.
