Saturday Sept. 6th the final chapter of the NASCAR Sprint Cup regular season will be wrote, as the drivers head to the 2008 running of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. With only 12 drivers getting the chance to move on to the 10 race playoff system, this race becomes not only important for the leaders, but those few drivers fighting for the final few spots are in great need of a solid race this weekend. As it stands now David Ragan is on the outside looking in, but just 17 points behind 12th place driver Clint Bowyer. Also in the hunt but still on the outside is Kasey Kahne who is just 48 points out of the Chase lineup. To help you get a better understanding of who the odds makers think have the best shot of winning this weekend,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to break down the field by the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots he thinks has a good chance of winning.

Favorites:
Kyle Busch +500, Carl Edwards +600, Denny Hamlin +600, Jimmie Johnson +600, and Tony Stewart +1000
There is plenty of reason to like the drivers in this group, as all 5 of them have raced well here before, including last year when they all finished in the top 10. Johnson is known for his late season pushes, and many are thinking last week was just the beginning of what might be to come. On the other hand its hard to imagine Edwards and Busch not in the picture for a 2nd straight week. You have to keep Stewart in the picture as he was won here before, and is still looking for that first win of the season in 2008.

Middle of the Pack:
Dale Earnhardt Jr +1200, Greg Biffle +1200, Kevin Harvick +1200, Jeff Gordon +1500, Kasey Kahne +1500, Matt Kenseth +1500, and Clint Bowyer +2000
There are plenty of drivers here that have the chance to sneak up and take the win home this weekend, and Kahne will be putting the pedal to the metal this week, as he not only needs to win and lead the most laps, but will need some help from the rest of the field as well. Gordon has fallen all the way to 10th in the standings and his 2nd place finish here a year ago has to be good reason to think he will get some of those points back this weekend. the other guy we think has a chance out of this group is Kenseth who has done well here at Richmond in his career.

Long Shots:
Mark Martin +3000, David Ragan +3000, Jeff Burton +3000, Martin Truex Jr +3500, Ryan Newman +4000, Brian Vickers +4000, and Kurt Busch +5000
If Ragan races well he is likely the first guy to sneak in and knock someone else out. but there are other guys in this group like Burton and Newman that you have to take seriously to race well each weekend. While Kyle Busch is getting all the attention, Kurt Busch has won this race before, and could be ready to pull out another victory this weekend.

If you want to get a bet in on the race this weekend,
get over to BetUS.com and get an account up and running today.

The PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs continue to roll on this weekend, as Vijay Singh will look to make it 3 for 3 after winning the Deutsche Bank Championship last week. After last week the field was cut down to just 70 golfers, and those 70 will make their attempt to win this weekend at the 2008 BMW Championship, held at St. Louis Bellerive Country Club this year. One thing for sure is that no player will be playing this weekend that has won this event before, as the only guy to hold the trophy is the defending champion Tiger Woods. To get you going on the tournament this weekend
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to take a closer look at the odds for the BMW Championship.

If you have been paying attention at all to the playoffs then you know that Singh has been playing some of the best golf of the season, and its all thanks to one heck of a putting stroke he has going. Mickelson has yet to show any real sign that he is going to make a push for the playoff championship. While Furyk stepped his game up to finish tied for 7th, Garcia came ever so close again to a win before falling in the final round. We think this weekend Garcia finally grabs that win, and makes it a 2 man show going into the final round of the playoffs.

Middle of the Pack:
Ernie Els +2000, Padraig Harrington +2000, Anthony Kim +2500, Justin Leonard +2500, Mike Weir +2500, Camilo Villegas +3000, Steve Stricker +3000, and KJ Choi +3000
This group has plenty of talented golfers thats for sure, as guys like Villegas, Weir, and Els all finished in the top 3 last weekend. Stricker and Els also played well, but Harrington, the guy everyone thought was going to have a lot of success in these playoffs disappointed once again by failing to make the cut. The guy we like this week is Leonard, who continues to play well over the last few weeks.

Long Shots:
Adam Scott +4000, Angel Cabrera +4000,Stewart Cink +4000, Robert Allenby +4000, Hunter Mahan +4000, Ken Duke +4000, Ben Curtis +5000, Chad Campbell +5000, Carl Pettersson +5000, and Kenny Perry +5000
Even though this is a group full of long shots, guys like Campbell, Mahan, Curtis, and Perry will all be part of the US Ryder Cup team. Campbell earned the last spot on the team after he shot 69 66 to finish 7th last week at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Though we feel almost a handful of these guys could win, the guy we have our eye on is Cink, who we feel is ready for a big time performance this weekend.

With only two races left in the “Race for the Chase” there are still a couple drivers fighting for the 12th and final spot in the 10 race playoff system. This week NASCAR heads to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California for the second time around, for the 2008 running of the Pepsi 500. Jimmie Johnson comes in as the defending champion of this race, while Carl Edwards was the winner of the Auto Club 500 held on this track earlier this season. Edwards took home his second straight win, as he continues to make a push for Kyle Busch in first place. To get a good idea of the field this weekend,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to breakdown the field by grouping the drivers into the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots he thinks has a chance to win this weekend.

Carl Edwards +400, Kyle Busch +400, Jimmie Johnson +525, Matt Kenseth +800, and Tony Stewart +1000
There is quite the battle going on between Busch and Edwards as they have combined to win 14 times this season. Busch still holds a 212 point lead over Edwards, but with plenty of races left its still anyones game. Everyone but Stewart has won on this track, but everyone but Busch and Edwards has struggled this season. Johnson is one of 4 drivers with more than 1 win this season, and he has to be taken seriously.

Middle of the Pack:
Dale Earnhardt Jr. +1200, Greg Biffle +1200, Jeff Gordon +1400, Kasey Kahne +1400, and Denny Hamlin +1600
This group has some quality drivers, and guys like Gordon, Biffle, and Kahne have all won here before, with Gordon leading the way with 3 wins. After putting a solid stretch together Kahne has fallen back, and now sits 14th in the points standings. Gordon came in 3rd at the Auto Club 500, and he is the driver out of this group we think will really race well this season.

Long Shots:
Brian Vickers +2500, David Ragan +2500, Kevin Harvick +3000, Martin Truex Jr. +4000, Elliot Sadler +5000, Clint Bowyer +5000, and Ryan Newman +6000
This group is unlikely to produce a winner, but there are a couple drivers that could really use a solid performance this weekend. Bowyer currently sits in 12th and its his spot to lose with just 2 races to go, while Ragan sits just 12 points behind in 13th. Sadler won this race back in 2004 and it would be a big surprise if he could do it again this year. Other guys to keep your eye on are Harvick, Truex Jr, and Newman all finished in the top 10 at the Auto Club 500, and it wouldn’t be a shocker to see them there again this week.

If you are looking for a great place to get a bet on the race this weekend

What a great start to the 2008 PGA Playoffs, as Vijay Singh was able to hold off Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win the Barclays. With that win Singh jumped to the top of the FedEX cup leaderboard, as did runner up Garcia who now sits in second. The playoffs continue this week, but not before 24 players hang it up this season, as the field is now down to 120. This week the field heads to TPC of Boston for the 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship. The current defending champion Phil Mickelson good really use a solid weekend of play, as he now sits 4th in th FedEX Cup ranks. To get a good idea of the field this weekend,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to break down the field into the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the longs shots he thinks has a chance this weekend.

Phil Mickelson +800, Sergio Garcia +900, Vijay Singh +1200, and Padraig Harrington +1800
While Garcia and Singh stole the show out of this group, Mickelson comes in as the leading favorite to win this weekend, and its hard to argue with the guy holding the trophy from a year ago. Harrington really had a let down after winning both the majors, as he failed to even make the cut last weekend. Mickelson played well last weekend finishing 19th, but will have to play better this weekend. We are expecting all 4 of these golfers to put on a great show this weekend.

Middle of the Pack:
Jim Furyk +2500, Paul Casey +2800, Anthony Kim +2800, Adam Scott +3300, Steve Stricker +3300, Robert Allenby +3300, Mike Weir +3300, Kenny Perry +3500, Ernie Els +3500, Justin Leonard +3500, and Camilo Villegas
This group is full of talent, and Scott is the only guy who has won this tournament before. Both Stricker and Villegas are coming off top 10 performances here a year ago, but keep an eye on Weir, Leonard, and Casey who all finished in the top 10 last week. We think Els and Furyk are two guys you always have to consider as threats, and Kim just might being the surprise of this group.

Long Shots:
Andres Romero +4000, Retief Goosen +4000, Geoff Ogilvy +4000, Rory Sabbatini +4000, Ben Curtis +4000, Stewart Cink +4500, K.J. Choi +4500, Sean O’Hair +5000, Hunter Mahan +6600, and Boo Weekley +6600
Though there is little expectations for this group to win this weekend, but O’Hair, Oglivy, and Sabbatini did play well here a year ago. After shooting a great first round last week Mahan wasn’t able to keep it going, We think the guy with the best shot of winning out this group is Ben Curtis, who looked well finishing tied for 4th last week.

Get ready UFC fans as we are gearing up for yet another big time event in just a matter of weeks. On September 6th the UFC will head Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georgia for UFC 88: Breakthrough. This pay-per-view event has a number of great fights including the main event of Chuck Lidell vs. Rashad Evans, and another good one in Rich Franklin vs. Matt Hamill. To get you going on the upcoming event,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to take a look at each of the fights on the main card, and give you his predictions on who he sees winning the fights.

Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad Evans
Liddell -280
Evans +210
If this is anything like the St. Pierre vs. Fitch fight of UFC 87, then this fight alone is worth it all. Liddell comes in as the big favorite after he looked great in his fight against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79, which was much needed after two straight losses. Liddell is an elite striker than can send you to the ground with a devastating punch or kick. Evans is undefeated in MMA, including a 6-0-1 record in the UFC. Evans most recent win came against Michael Bisping at UFC 78. Evans has a great takedown ability, but he too can land some big time shots. We think this is going to be a close one, and we see Liddell continuing his quest back to greatness.
Prediction:
Liddell -280

Rich Franklin vs. Matt Hamill
Franklin -240
Hamill +190
This should be a very interesting fight, as you have Franklin, a dominating middleweight fighter, moving up to 205 for this fight. In the other corner you get Hamill, who continues to impress, with top of the line wrestling skills. Hamill will have his work cut out against the former champ, and its hard telling what you will get in this fight, but we see it coming out good for Franklin. We aren’t sure he can handle 205 in the long haul, but we do see him taking home the victory in this one.
Prediction:
Franklin -240

Karo Parisyan vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Parisyan -280
Yoshida +210
parisyan comes in with a 26-5 record, but after rolling off 3 straight wins in the UFC he came up short in a TKO loss to Thaigo Alves back in April. Yoshiyuki is making his 2nd fight in the UFC, after an impressive choke out of Jon Koppenhaver at UFC 84. This fight doesn’t quite have the build up of the top two fights, but we think an upset is in the making, as we see Yoshida pulling out the win.
Prediction: Yoshida +210

Dan Henderson vs. Rousimar Palhares
Henderson -200
Palhares +160
After going 2-0 to start his time with the UFC, Henderson is in need of a win after consecutive losses to Quinton Jackson and Anderson Silva. Henderson has great power, but really hasn’t been able to showcase it in the UFC yet. Palhares is another fighter looking for his 2nd straight win to start his UFC career, after a submission win over Ivan Salaverry. We don’t think it happens in this one, as we see Henderson winning by knock out early in this one.
Prediction:
Henderson -200

Martin Kampmann vs. Nate Marquardt
Kampmann Even
Marquardt -140
Kampmann has rolled off 4 straight victories to start his UFC career, and all but one of them have come by the way of submission. But don’t think this guy doesn’t have the power to send opponents to the floor, as he has shown in previous MMA fights that he can knock guys out. Marquardt is the much more experienced fighter in this one, but he is coming off a tough split decision loss to Thales Leites at UFC 85. We think this one goes down to the wire, and Kampmann is our man coming out on top.
Prediction:
Kampmann Even

If you are looking to get a bet in on the upcoming UFC event,

We continue to near the end of the regular season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, as the drivers head to Bristol Motor Speedway for the 2nd time for the 2008 Sharpie 500. Things got a little more interesting last week, as Carl Edwards was able to hold off Kyle Busch for the win at the 3M Performance 400. Edwards still has a lot of catching up to do, as he is still 222 points behind Busch for the points lead. With drivers still fighting to stay in the top 12 this week is sure to be just as entertaining as the last. Edwards is the defending champion of this event, but you have to keep your eye out for Jeff Burton, as he was the winner of the Food City 500 held at this track earlier in the year. To get a good idea of what the oddsmakers see happening this weekend
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to breakdown the field by the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots with a shot to win this weekend.

Favorites: Kyle Busch +500, Carl Edwards +500, Dale Earnhardt Jr. +800, Denny Hamlin +800, and Tony Stewart +800
Its hard to argue with the this group as you have so many of top drivers here. The thing you have to think of here is the dominace Chevrolet and Ford has had in this race over the years. That means Busch, Hamlin and Stewart all will have to over come a very tough challenge this weekend. While you can’t ever count Busch out of anything this season, you have to like Edwards chances of continuing to crawl back into the points title hunt. Also, Earnhardt Jr. has won this event back in 2004 so you can’t count him out as well.

Middle of the Pack:
Matt Kenseth +1000, Kevin Harvick +1000, Kasey Kahne +1000, Jeff Gordon +1200, Greg Biffle +1500, Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton +1800, and Jimmie Johnson
This group has plenty of talent, and Kenseth has to be taken seriously this weekend, as he was the two time defending champion before Edwards ended his run last season. Kurt Busch and Gordon have both won this race before, and you have to like Burton’s chances after his performance on this track earlier this season. Other guys to keep an eye on are Harvick, Kahne, and Burton, as they all finished in the top 10 at the Food City 500.

Long Shots:
Clint Bowyer +3000, Ryan Newman +4000, Martin Truex Jr. +4000, Brian Vickers +5000, Elliot Sadler +6000, and David Ragan +7500
While we don’t see a winner coming out of this group, if you have learned anything you know that anything can happen in NASCAR. Based on the fact the Dodge and Chevy have dominated we like Bowyer, Truex Jr, and Ragan to perform well this weekend. None of these drivers were in the top 10 at the Food City 500, so it will be interesting to see if any of them can step up there game this weekend.

So there you have it the guys who have the best chance of winning this weekend. If you want to get a bet in on any of these drivers, be sure to
head over to Sportsbook.com today.

With the PGA Tour’s regular season in the books after Carl Pettersson took home the Wyndham Championship last week, its time to head to the 2nd year of the playoffs. The first stop is the Barclays in New Jersey at Ridgewood Country Club. With the FedEX Cup at stakes its pretty much anyone game, but its definitely a lot easier if you are near the top. Right now Kenny Perry technically sits in 2nd to Tiger Woods, but with him out he is the leader going into the playoffs. Close behind you have guys like Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington, and Anthony Kim, so it should be an exciting time. To help get you going on the Barclays,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to breakdown the field by taking a look at the odds for the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots he thinks can win this weekend.

Favorites:
Phil Mickelson +800, Padraig Harrington +1000, and Sergio Garcia +1200
As of right now there is a pretty good chance that one of these 3 guys takes home the FedEx Cup trophy when its all said and done. Both Mickelson and Harrington sit right near the top, and Garcia isn’t to far behind. While its hard to go against Mickelson without Tiger in the field, we are going to take Harrington, as he has been playing much better golf as of late. We also expect to see Garcia to have a solid showing this year, as he has won here twice before.

Middle of the Pack:
Retief Goosen +2200, Jim Furyk +2500, Anthony Kim +2500, Ernie Els +2800, Adam Scott +3000, Vijay Singh +3000, and Stuart Appleby +3000
There is quite the group of talent here, as you have many of golfs older players that still have could come out with a hot stick and take home a surprising victory. When it comes down to it there is one golfer that really sticks out this week and for the whole thing, and thats Kim. Singh and Els have both won this event multiple times before it became a playoff event, and could very easily be one of the guys taking home the trophy this week.

Long Shots:
Camilo Villegas +3500, Stewart Cink +4000, Kenny Perry +4000, Steve Stricker +4000, Robert Allenby +4000, Geoff Ogilvy +4000, Carl Pettersoon +5000, and Sean O’Hair +5000
This list could of went on quite awhile, as there are a ton of golfers with long shot odds this weekend, but these are the ones we think have the best shot at pulling off the big win this weekend. Stricker is the defending champion, so you have to give him a serious chance. Almost everyone of these golfers still have a shot at winning the playoffs, but they need to start it off with a good performance this week. If we had to pick someone to win out of this group alone, it would have to be Kenny Perry, who could really add to his lead with a win this weekend.

If you are looking for a great place to do all your sports betting be sure to

Another week in the books and another win by Kyle Busch, as this time he was able to take home another road course win at the Centurion Boats at the Glenn. Busch not only grabbed his 8th win of the season, he increased his lead in the point standings to 242 points over Carl Edwards. This weekend drivers make their way to Michigan International Speedway for the 2008 3M Performance 400. With the season continuing to near its end before the top 12 drivers continue on for the chase to be the 2008 points cup champion. With so much at stake this weekend,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to break down the field into the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots he thinks has a chance to win this weekend.

Favorites:
Kyle Busch +500, Jimmie Johnson +500, Carl Edwards +550, Matt Kenseth +600, and Kasey Kahne +700
There is no question that there is a good chance the winner this weekend will come out of this group, as guys like Busch and Edwards lead the way in wins this season. But what you might find interesting is that the only guy in this group to have won this race is Kenseth, who did so back in 2005. Kahne and Johnson have both raced well on this track before, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them win this weekend.

Middle of the Pack:
Dale Earnhardt Jr +900, Toney Stewart +900, Greg Biffle +1100, Denny Hamlin +1400, Jeff Gordon +1400, and Brian Vickers +1800
If you are looking for a driver with good betting odds this weekend to win the race, than you likely want to find a guy out of this group, as it is full of big names like Earnhardt Jr, Stewart, and Gordon. Hamlin and Vickers are also a solid threat this weekend, as both came in the top 10 a year ago. If you are looking for our opinion on just one guy out of this group, we would go with Gordon, as he is due to win one this season. Also keep your eye on Biffle as he won this race back in 2004.

Long Shots:
David Ragan +2200, Mark Martin +2800, Jeff Burton +2800, Kurt Busch +4500, Ryan Newman +4500, and Clint Bowyer +4500
The defending champ Kurt Busch shows you just how anyone can come away with a win on any given weekend, its hard to imagine Busch putting together back to back wins here at Michigan, but we wouldn’t be surprised t see a strong finsih from Newman or Bowyer. Newman won this race back in 2003, so he comes in as the safe bet out of this group.

If you see a driver you like this weekend,

The PGA Tour regular season finally comes to an end this week, as players get ready for the 2008 Wyndham Championship at Segefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Coming off the final major championship of the season, where fans saw Padraig Harrington capture his 2nd straight major at the PGA Championship. While many of the top golfers will take the week off, as the top 144 players after play concludes this weekend get to move on and partake in the FedEx Cup playoff series. So you can count on many of the guys trying to secure a spot to come out and play the best golf they can this weekend. To get a good idea of what the field will look like this season,
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to breakdown the field by the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the longs shots with a great chance of winning this weekend.

Favorites:
Vijay Singh +1000 and Paul Casey +1500
With so few big names playing this weekend, we are stuck with only two guys with good enough odds to be considered favorites this weekend. Singh really didn’t play well in the last two majors as he failed to make the cut in both of them. On the other hand Casey has really played well in the majors this season, including a 7th place finish at the British Open. Singh did throw a win in at the Bridestone between the British and the PGA Championship, and Casey placed 8th there as well. So its easy to say both these guys have a great shot at winning this weekend.

Middle of the Pack:
Tim Clark +2500, Ken Duke +2500, David Toms +2500, Carl Pettersson +2500, Brandt Snedeker +2500, and Zach Johnson +3000
There are plenty of golfers in this group that can really come in and play well this weekend. We have already mentioned that Snedeker won this event last year, as he shot 22 under over the weekend. You have to like guys like Duke, Toms, and Petteresson this weekend, and if we had to pick one it would be Pettersson as he came in 5th here a year ago.

Long Shots:
Billy Mayfair +4000, Briny Baird +4000, Davis Love III +4000, Lucas Glover +5000, Mark Wilson +6000, Tim Herron +6000, Tom Lehman +8000, and David Duval +15000
This group has a good mix of vets and it will be interesting to see if any of them can come through this weekend. Mayfair has played well here before including coming in just a couple shots back of Snedeker last year to tie for 2nd. The guy we think you really want to watch out of this group is Love III, as he won this event back in 2006.

If you are looking to get a bet in on any of these guys to win this weekend, be sure to

We continue to wind down to the end of another explosive season of NASCAR Sprint Cup racing and last week Kyle Busch gave some of the competitors a chance to climb their way back into the mix of things, as Busch came in 36th at the Brickyard 400. The guy that took advantage of that the most was Carl Edwards, as he raced his way to the checkered flag last week. Edwards now only sits 185 points behind the leader Busch and just 9 points behind Dale Earnhardt Jr for second place. This week the drivers are heading to the big apple for the 2008 Centurion Boats at the Glenn, which just so happens to be the second and final road race of the season. With so many drivers still battling for position it should lead of for a very interesting race, as some drivers just have a feel for the road courses. To help you get a good idea of what the field looks like this week
professional handicapper Jason Lowry is set to take a look at the odds for the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots who we think have a great chance of winning this weekend at the Watkins Glen International race venue.

Favorites:
Jeff Gordon +450, Tony Stewart +450,Juan Pablo Montoya +800, Kyle Busch +800, and Robby Gordon +1000

This just goes to to show just how much a difference a road course can make. Guys like Montoya and Robby Gordon are never found with these kind of odds, but when its time to race on the non conventional road courses, these guys are as good as it gets. There are still stars like Jeff Gordon and Stewart who have the ability to win on pretty much anything, and Busch showed everyone he could do that as well when he won the Toyota/Save Mart 350 earlier this season. The guy to beat here is definitely Stewart, as he has won this race 4 times in the past 6 years.

Middle of the Pack:
Carl Edwards +1500, Denny Hamlin +1500, Marcos Ambrose +1500, Kevin Harvick +1500, Jimmie Johnson +1500, Kurt Busch +2000, and Ron Fellows +2500
Finding a guy in this group just might be the way to go, but doing it might not be so easy. A couple guys to keep your eyes on are always guys like Edwards, Hamlin, and Johnson, but don’t forget about Harvick, as he took the checkered flag here back in 2006. Its hard to say just who is going to have a strong finish this week out of this group, but if you want our opinion go with the hot driver of Carl Edwards, as he did pretty well in the first road race of the season finishing 9th.

Long Shots:
Patrick Carpentier +3000, Jamie McMurray +3000, Dale Earnhardt Jr +3500, Jeff Burton +4000, Ryan Newman +4000, Clint Bowyer +5000, and Kasey Kahne +7500
This group a guys really don’t have much of a chance, as they get these kind of odds for a reason, but there are a couple guys in this group we think you should keep your eye on. Earnhardt Jr showed well at the first road race this season, and could come back strong for this one. Other guys we like are McMurray and Newman, as we feel they might be able to pull off the big win this weekend if everything falls into place.

If you want to get a bet in on any of the guys racing this weekend,
head over to Sportsbook.com and get an account started today. Be sure to check back each week for our take on each and every upcoming race.
