Reasons why Butler covers the spread Thursday:

1.)  Butler is a covering machine, and even more so on the road.  The Bulldogs are 6-1 SU & 6-1 ATS in all road games this season, cashing in at the pay window 86% of the time.  Now they find themselves in the role of a reasonably small road favorite tonight against a Loyola-Illinois team that is mediocre at best.  Butler’s last two road wins came at Valpo by 13 and at Xavier by 9.  Those are two teams that are better than Loyola-Illinois is this season.

2.)  Butler won both meetings last season by 11 on the road and 13 at home.  We expect another double-digit blowout to be in store tonight.  Loyola has 2 losses in their last 4 games by 26 on the road at Cleveland State and by 14 at home against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  These two losses show the true colors of this team.
