Reasons why the Chiefs cover the spread Sunday:
1.) Kansas City is a much better team when playing at home, and they are coming off a game where they easily could have upset the New York Jets. The Chiefs always have a few surprises up their sleeves when playing at Arrowhead Stadium. They have already knocked off the Denver Broncos at home earlier this season in a 33-19 victory. QB Tyler Thigpen showed what he is capable of last week against the Jets, completing 25-of-36 passes for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did not throw a single interception. 2.) Tampa Bay is just 1-3 in road games this season, with their only win coming in overtime. All of the Bucs’ losses have come on the road this year, so for the odds makers to predict that Tampa will win by double-digits this week is simply outrageous. The Bucs are scoring a mere 17.2 points/game on the road this year. With those putrid offensive numbers for the Bucs in road games, we’ll take the points every time in this spot.
3.) System Play. We’ll Play On – Home teams (KANSAS CITY) – after failing to cover the spread in 4 or 5 out of their last 6 games, a terrible team (<=25%) playing a team with a winning record.
