The Bears are coming off a very fortunate victory over the Seahawks where the game could have gone either way at the end of the game. Seattle squandered many opportunities late in the game while Chicago put their season on the line twice with kicker Robbie Gould to send it into extra time and eventually win it for them in the OT period. Chicago will be trying to do what they’ve been doing all season, riding their brutal running attacks in Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson all game long. Look for timely passing from Rex Grossman as he tries to shake off his nerves early. If they can move the ball effectively on the ground they will wear down the Saints’ defense and control the game throughout. But if they don’t, America’s team will shine again and knock off the Bears on their home turf.

The Saints have the most complete offense in the league this season and it will test the Bears’ defense that has actually been struggling as of late. The Saints easily have one of the top three quarterbacks in the league with Drew Brees at the helm. He will be throwing to a quartet of receives, featuring Joe Horn and rookie Marques Colston, that are arguably the most talented core of receivers in the league. If that’s not enough fire power for you, their duo of running backs led by Deuce McAllister and the shifty Reggie Bush have run the ball just as effectively as Jones and Benson all season. We believe Reggie Bush is the most talented pass catcher in the league out of the backfield. His ability to make people miss combined with his ability to pull away from any defender makes him second to none. New Orleans’ defensive effort will make all the difference in this game. If they can stop the run and get pressure on Grossman they will be on their way to the Super Bowl.
The Line: New Orleans +2.5 @ Chicago Over/Under 43.5
