Another week in the books and another win by Kyle Busch, as this time he was able to take home another road course win at the Centurion Boats at the Glenn. Busch not only grabbed his 8th win of the season, he increased his lead in the point standings to 242 points over Carl Edwards. This weekend drivers make their way to Michigan International Speedway for the 2008 3M Performance 400. With the season continuing to near its end before the top 12 drivers continue on for the chase to be the 2008 points cup champion. With so much at stake this weekend, professional handicapper Jason Lowry is going to break down the field into the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots he thinks has a chance to win this weekend.

Favorites: Kyle Busch +500, Jimmie Johnson +500, Carl Edwards +550, Matt Kenseth +600, and Kasey Kahne +700
There is no question that there is a good chance the winner this weekend will come out of this group, as guys like Busch and Edwards lead the way in wins this season. But what you might find interesting is that the only guy in this group to have won this race is Kenseth, who did so back in 2005. Kahne and Johnson have both raced well on this track before, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them win this weekend.

Middle of the Pack: Dale Earnhardt Jr +900, Toney Stewart +900, Greg Biffle +1100, Denny Hamlin +1400, Jeff Gordon +1400, and Brian Vickers +1800
If you are looking for a driver with good betting odds this weekend to win the race, than you likely want to find a guy out of this group, as it is full of big names like Earnhardt Jr, Stewart, and Gordon. Hamlin and Vickers are also a solid threat this weekend, as both came in the top 10 a year ago. If you are looking for our opinion on just one guy out of this group, we would go with Gordon, as he is due to win one this season. Also keep your eye on Biffle as he won this race back in 2004.

Long Shots: David Ragan +2200, Mark Martin +2800, Jeff Burton +2800, Kurt Busch +4500, Ryan Newman +4500, and Clint Bowyer +4500
The defending champ Kurt Busch shows you just how anyone can come away with a win on any given weekend, its hard to imagine Busch putting together back to back wins here at Michigan, but we wouldn’t be surprised t see a strong finsih from Newman or Bowyer. Newman won this race back in 2003, so he comes in as the safe bet out of this group.
