1. Buffalo Bills: The Bills have all the qualifications of an energetic offense. Not only because of the overly publicized add-on of Terrell Owens but the sum of each of the components at the skilled positions have the capableness of putting up terrific stats. Lee Evans was one of the most underrated wide receivers in the National Football League over the last couple seasons. His stats haven’t been amongst the tops in the league solely because the Bills have missed another decent wide receiver than can extend the field. With the addition of Owens he will not command as many double teams and look for him to come forth with a All-Pro type season. The Bills other receiver Josh Reed can now go back to his comfort zone of being the slot receiver. Also Roscoe Parrish and Steve Johnson will make this unit one of the soundest in the AFC. The Bills are three deep with ball carriers with Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, and Dominic Rhodes. Trent Edwards enters his second full year as a starting quarterback and is primed for a large season. The big question mark will be the revamped guys in the trenches which has 2 greenhorns slotted to be starting. The defense will not be spectacular but has all the makings of a hardy unit. The Bills special teams may be the greatest in the NFL.

2. San Francisco 49’ers: Mike Singletary enters his first full year as the head man and will look to build upon the momentum that his team completed the 2008 season with. They say that good teams take on the personality of their head coach and this young team showed all the signs of acting so once Singletary became the leader. The strong suit of the team will be their defense and the ground game. When on the field, Frank Gore has proved himself to be one of the best running backs in the league. Singletary likes to play smash mouth type football on offense and they will rely strongly on Gore who figures to get 20 to 25 totes per contest. The defense has the capability of being one of the better stop units in the NFL this season. The huge question mark will be at signal caller where the returning Shaun Smith will attempt to hold off former number one overall pick Alex Smith. First round draft picks Michael Crabtree is saying he might holdout for the season which will do neither the 49ers or Crabtree any good. His signing will be the key to the offensive unit establishing a marked improvement over their 2008 production.
