2008 NCAA Tournament Predictions - East Region

Sports Betting at the Sportsbook

The brackets are set and we are ready to give you the help you are looking for when filling out your brackets. So just because you have been too busy to pay attention to the games during the regular season we are here to help you pick the winners. This way you can spend the rest of the year bragging how you beat all your co-workers, who claim they know what they are talking about when it comes to filling out a bracket.

Lets take a look at the East Region, as it is said to be one of the toughest brackets to fill out. The region is led by #1 seed North Carolina and #2 seed Tennessee; both teams have spent time as the top team in the country. North Carolina comes in as the overall best team in the tournament, which has many people wondering why they have such a tough bracket. We have some upsets you might not see coming as some of the top teams will bite the dust early and often in this bracket. Here is our look at the bracket with each game picked all the way to the Final Four.

Round 1

We got two big upsets here as we got #11 Saint Joseph taking down #6 Oklahoma and #12 George Mason beating #5 Notre Dame. You know there will be at least one 12 seed beating a 5 seed, so this might not be a big as upset as it looks on paper. The rest of the round should see all the top seeds winning with #1 UNC and #2 Tennessee winning easily. Out of the other first round games the teams we think that will have the most trouble but will still get the job done, will be #8 Indiana and #7 Butler.

Round of 32

Maybe we have the cinderella run that George Mason run still playing in our heads, as we got the #12 Patriots will shock another big team win they hand a very good #4 Washington State a stunning defeat in round 2. Other than this we don’t see #1 UNC having any trouble with #8 Indiana, or #3 Stanford having any trouble with #11 Saint Joseph. The team that will struggle the most will be #2 Tennessee, as they will square off with #7 Butler. The reason that this game will be so close is that there is no way Butler should be a #7 seed, we don’t know how they weren’t at least a 5 seed if not a 4.

Sweet 16

#1 North Carolina will continue to roll as they get somewhat of an easy match up here, thanks to the magical run of #12 George Mason. We are picking a bigger upset than it might look when #3 Louisville taking down #2 Tennessee in one of the best 2 vs. 3 games of the tournament.

Elite 8

With a birth in the Final Four just one game away we are set to see #1 North Carolina face off against. #3 Louisville in what should be great game, as both teams are led by the man down in the middle. North Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough is up for player of the year awards, while Louisville’s David Padgett is not that high caliber of player, he is the key component to the Cardinals success. While Louisville should finally give the Tar Heels a test, we think UNC will be too much to handle and the Tar Heels will punch their ticket to the Final Four.
