After another great weekend in Daytona for the Coke Zero 400, this week NASCAR is heading to the midwest for the 2008 LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. The race is set to get underway on Sunday July 12, and it will be the first time that the race will be held under the lights. Last year Tony Stewart was able to take home the checkered flag for his first win of the season in 2007, Stewart would love a repeat of that this year as he is still searching for that first win this season. Right now Stewart sits the 12th and final spot just 2 points ahead of Kevin Harvick, so even a finish in the top 3 will come in hand for Stewart. With many drivers trying to position themselves for the chase at the end of the season, the guy on top in Kyle Busch just keeps on winning, and he added his 6th win of the season last week at the Coke Zero 400. Busch has now increased his lead to 182 points and looks like it just might be his year. Busch has never won at Chicagoland Speedway so it will be interesting to see if he can add yet another track to his victory list in 2008. Jason Lowry is here to get you going on the race this weekend, as he breaks down the drivers by the favorites, guys in the middle of the pack, and the long shots with a chance to win this weekend.

Favorites: Kyle Busch 6/1, Carl Edwards 7/1, Jimmie Johnson 7/1, Matt Kenseth 7/1, Dale Earnhardt Jr 8/1, and Tony Stewart 8/1
There is plenty to like in this group, and there is no reason that Busch doesn’t come in as the overall favorite in this one. Edwards is starting to pick it up as he came in 2nd last week, and finished 3rd here a year ago. Kenseth has been the runner up in this event 2 out of the last 3 years, and is still looking for his first win of the season. Earnhardt Jr and Stewart have both won here in years past, and its easy to see that Stewart needs a big finish more than anyone in this group.

Middle of the Pack: Greg Biffle 10/1, Brian Vickers 15/1, Jeff Gordon 15/1, Denny Hamlin 15/1, and Kasey Kahne 15/1
Gordon is the only guy in this group to have won this event, and he did so just two years ago. Kahne continues to keep it going with yet another top 10 finish last week. Biffle is the closest to falling out of the top 12 and Vickers is the guy that needs the biggest finish this weekend.

Long Shots: Clint Bowyer 30/1, Jeff Burton 30/1, David Ragan 30/1, Kevin Harvick 30/1, Kurt Busch 40/1, and Ryan Newman 40/1
Its hard to think that one of these guys will walk away with the checkered flag, but Harvick has won this event twice in his career and Newman won it back in 2003. If you look back to the race here last season, you will find all but Ragan in the top 10, so you know that there is plenty of talent here. If you are really looking for a guy out of this group to have the best shot at winning this thing, we would go with Jeff Burton, as he has to be doing something right if he is 3rd in the point standings.
