Final Four Predictions
2008 Final Four Predictions

We have broken down each region and it has left us
with 4 teams left to do battle for the 2008 National
Championship. We had plenty of upsets throughout the
tournament, and the most surprising just might be #6
Purdue coming out of the West Region. The other 3 teams
are all the favorites as we have #1 North Carolina out
of the East, #1 Memphis out of the South, and #1 Kansas
out of the Midwest. With the East and Midwest set to do
battle and the South and West to square off on the other
side, with the winners facing off for the chance to be
crowned National Champions, and have the opportunity to
cut down the nets in San Antonio. Here are our picks for
each Final Four matchup and then our look at the
National Championship game. We started with 65 and by
the time it is all said and done we will be down to 1.
Final Four
#1 North Carolina vs. #1 Kansas
This should be a very interesting matchup with Kansas
and UNC. North Carolina will go as far as Tyler
Hansbrough takes them as he has pretty much carried this
team all season since point guard Ty Lawson went down
with an injury. Kansas on the other hand is a more
balanced attack that started off very strong before have
a mild slump towards the end of the season, but made up
for it with an impressive run through the Big 12
Tournament. We are going to take the Jay Hawks as we
just think this is a very difficult matchup for North
Carolina. So while almost everyone else takes UNC to win
it all, here is your chance to gain those valuable
points late to push you to the top.
#1 Memphis vs. #6 Purdue
This game is a pretty big let down after the first
matchup, but it will be a lot closer than people might
think if these two teams are to square off. Memphis has
only one loss all season and that came to a very good
Tennessee team that easily could of went in the Tigers
favor. While Purdue’s run will look better than it
actually is as they are much better than a #6 team.
Either way Memphis won’t lose this game, so while you
already picked up the big upset pick with Purdue over
UCLA, you will likely gain even more points as almost
everyone has UCLA in the Championship game.
National Championship
#1 Kansas vs. #1 Memphis
While it might not be the two #1 teams you expected to
be playing for the National Championship, these two
teams will prove why they are the two best teams with a
classic final game of the season. Just getting to the
Championship game for these two teams is not enough as
they are one mission and that is to be the last team
standing. We are going with the Jay Hawks here as we
just think they are a little more battle tested, and
will be able to shut down the dribble drive motion that
Memphis relies so heavily on. So take its for what its
worth, the Kansas Jay Hawks are our 2008 National
Champions.
