The team here at Info Plays gave you our top-10 selections with our 2008 Belmont Stakes predictions article. Now it’s time to go into further detail with the top-3 horses we have selected to compete at the finish line in New York. Below we’ll give you our 2008 Belmont Stakes picks, exclusively featuring our top-3 horses. This is important because most of the Belmont Stakes bets you make will be based off of the top-3 finishers on Saturday, June 7th. Win, Place, Show, Quinella, Exacta and Trifecta wagering can be done with the horses we give you below.

Winning Horse - Big Brown at 1/3 odds to win the 2008 Belmont Stakes

Big Brown won his first two races by 11 ¼ lengths and then by 12 ¾ lengths, earning the respect of horse handicappers all over the world. There is no doubt this is the fastest horse on earth, and there is no doubt that Big Brown is going to be the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. Big Brown has yet to be tested, and its going to be scary to see what this horse can do when he really turns on the jets if needed. The thing is that we don’t even think Big Brown will get tested. Starting on post No. 1, Big Brown will take an early lead and leave his competitors in the dust the whole way around the 1 ½ mile track in New York. Big Brown will likely retire from racing after this win, finishing off his career by winning all 6 races he ever entered. This horse will go down in history as one of the best ever to run around a track.

Place Horse - Casino Drive at 7/2 odds to win the 2008 Belmont Stakes

Casino Drive is kind of a scary bet at first with little experience to show. But the blood line on this bad boy cannot be ignored come Saturday, June 7th at the 2008 Belmont Stakes. With two siblings, Jazil and Rags to Riches, winning the Belmont, he was brought to New York in an attempt to continue the streak. He looked sharp prepping in the Peter Pan (gr. II), winning easily in what was an admittedly weak renewal of the race. It will be a lot to ask for him to go the 12 furlongs in only his third lifetime start, especially facing the budding superstar Big Brown, but at the least his pedigree says he is not without hope.

Show Horse - Macho Again at 33/1 odds to win the 2008 Belmont Stakes

Macho Again is bred top and bottom to compete at two turns. This is our best longshot pick in the field and one you might want to go with to take down Big Brown. His paternal grandsire is the great Holy Bull, and he is out of a mare by Wild Again, winner of the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I). That breeding carried him to a surprising second place finish in the Preakness (gr. I). He will get another shot at Big Brown in the Belmont (gr. I). For his career, Macho Again is 3-2-0 in eight starts. Being bred for two turns, we’ll get to see Macho Again’s best race of his life.
