Indianapolis opens the 2007 Super Bowl betting odds as 7-point favorites. It has been a very interesting route to the Super Bowl for the Colts. They opened at home against Kansas City in a game that everyone predicted Larry Johnson having a huge game against the Colts run defense. Bob Sanders and the Colts’ defense stuffed Johnson and held the Chiefs without a first down until late in the third quarter. Peyton Manning threw three interceptions including two to his nemesis in Ty Law. The Colts came out victorious straight up and ATS as their defense carried them to victory. They then went on the road to Baltimore in the Divisional round of the playoffs and won a game that was completely decided by field goals. Peyton Manning had a sub-par performance in this game and could not get his team in the end zone. What really impressed the media was the fact that the Colts held Baltimore to only six points all game. Adam Vinatieri tied an NFL record for most field goals in a playoff game accumulating five for 15 points in the game. He has proven to be a crucial pick up for the Colts this season and a big reason they are in the Super Bowl.

The Colts lucked out to get home-field advantage in the AFC Championship as the Patriots beat San Diego with late heroics from Tom Brady to set up the classic Colts/Pats match-up we got to see on Sunday January, 21st. The Colts got down early 21-3 and the game looked to be over. Indy scored before half to get some momentum towards the 2nd half although being down 21-6. Indy exploded for 32 points in the second half behind late heroics from Peyton Manning to finally get the monkey off his back and earn the victory over their rival in the New England Patriots.

The Bears open the 2007 Super Bowl betting odds as 7-Point underdogs. Their road to the playoffs started with home-field advantage and a first-round bye. They put their fate on the line with their field goal kicker in Robbie Gould and he came through like a champion. He put one through the uprights late in the fourth against the Seahawks to send the game into OT and eventually won it for them in the extra period. They absolutely manhandled the Saints last Sunday on their way to the Super Bowl behind a great running game and timely passing from Rex Grossman.

There have been three different teams favored to win the Super Bowl throughout the season. First were the Colts, then the Bears, and finally the San Diego Chargers before the playoffs started. The Colts earned 9/1 odds at this point and now they are the favorite after beating the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. They take on Chicago in Super Bowl XLI after the Bears trounced the Saints and listed below are the odds:

Indianapolis Colts -7
Chicago Bears +7
