2007 St. Louis Rams NFL Predictions & Season Preview
With our 2007 Rams predictions we find it odds that the team didn’t address their defensive issues more. St. Louis seemed more worried about making the team even more exciting by adding offensive help to a team that already had no trouble putting points on the board. The team finished 2006 at 8-8, but after a three game season-ending winning streak that record could reflect a better team that it was, especially when the team won at Minnesota, at home against Washington, and against the Raiders.

The Rams are set at quarterback with Marc Bulger being one of the best in the NFC. He should be comfortable this year in his second time through under the new system. He is backed up by Gus Frerotte, who didn’t see much action a year ago, but is more than capable if Bulger goes down like he did in 2005. At running back we would take Stephen Jackson over anyone else in the NFC, and over anyone else who doesn’t have an L for their first initial. He had 90 catches, 2,334 totals yards, and 16 total touchdowns a year ago, and has been calling for the ball even more this season. When is Isaac Bruce going to start his downhill slide? He had 1,098 yards a year ago on 74 catches, despite being in the league for 13 years. Torry Holt played half of last year with a knee injury he claims is now healed. He still had 93 catches with 10 TDs and 1,188 yards. The team went out and got Randy McMichael, who is a great pass-catching tight end and Drew Bennett to come in and fill in at the no. 3 wideout spot. Bennett is tall and will help out in the red zone.
St. Louis has Leonard Little as the only real threat on the defensive line and he still had 13 sacks even with persistent double teams a year ago. James Hall was brough in from Detroit to give a little extra threat to the pass rush. At tackle there is two potentials with rookie Adam Carriker and Jimmy Kennedy who is in his final year and will need to produce. Will Withersppon was brought in from Carolina to lead the linebackers. He’ll have an average group to work with that won’t wow anyone in Brandon Chillar and Pisa Tinoisamoa. The secondary is lead by Corey Chavous, who is entering his 10th year in the league, but has continued to be solid. Tye Hill proved capable at corner and will be matched up across from Fakhi Brown who is solid, but not great and is aging.
The Rams are going to be a tough team to read this season. Honestly we think that they will end up in last place in this division as they have been disappointing the last two seasons. Sure the offense is talented, but there isn’t anything on defense that makes us think teams won’t put up at least twenty in every game of the season. We are going with the UNDER seven wins and staying away from them to win the division, conference, and especially the Super Bowl.
