Predictions to Win the 2007 Belmont Stakes
You do not want to make your wagers on this Saturday’s Belmont Stakes unless you read our 2007 Belmont Stakes predictions first to help guide you on your way.
With Street Sense sitting this one out after coming up a nose short in the Preakness Stakes, Curlin, the Preakness winner, is the hands down favorite at nearly even money. He and Derby runner-up/Preakness show finisher Hard Spun will be the only two horses to run in all three Triple Crown events. Hard Spun is second of the seven horses running the Belmont Stakes at 5/2 odds. His consistency doesn’t seem to suggest he’ll be the winner this week. If your red flag hasn’t gone up on him already, it should now. We feel Hard Spun is overvalued and most likely won’t be cashing your win bets.
The fantastic filly, Rags to Riches is third at 3/1 odds and becomes super trainer Todd Pletcher’s last shot at winning a Triple Crown in 2007. Talk about having the odds stacked against him and his horse. Only 21 fillies have ever run in the 138 Belmont Stakes races and only two have ever won it. Both of those winners were more than 100 years ago. The best finish by a filly at the Belmont Stakes in recent history is Silverbulletday ho finished 7 th in 1999. Rags to Riches is the daughter of 1992 Belmont Stakes winner A.P. Indy which has Pletcher very confidently saying that she is bred for this race. She will also get a five-pound weight allowance allowing her to carry 121 while the other horses carry 126. Oddsmakers are showing some confidence in this filly and you’re going to want to see if Larry Cook and his InfoPlays staff feel the same with theirĀ 2007 Belmont Stakes picks this Saturday.
As far as long shots go, Imawildandcrzyguy and Slew’s Tizzy are your horses at 20/1 odds. Many race examiners are saying that they are rightfully such long shots, but we can’t soon forget that Imawildancrazyguy did run 4 th at the Derby and Churchill Downs is a long race course like Belmont Park. Perhaps we won’t win bet with this horse, but he might be worth linking up in some exotics.
If you haven’t already put your bets in for the oldest major horse racing event, you should make sure you read all of Larry Cook’sĀ 2007 Belmont Stakes betting material before you make your wagers. Also, be advised that several sportsbooks offer propositional bets such as will the 139th Belmont Stakes attendance be higher that 55,000? Some of these can be gimme bets if you have spent some time in the research room.
As always, we wish you the best of luck with your wagers on this Saturday’s big race and we hope we can help you cash those winning tickets.
