If you want to know what we think about this division then keep reading our 2007 AFC East predictions. We will give you a general overview of the division here, and you can get even more information by checking out each individual team. The Patriots have dominated the division as of late, winning four straight division titles and it doesn’t look like they plan on stopping anytime soon.

First Place – 2007 New England Patriots Predictions – The team was close to making yet another Super Bowl last year before blowing an 18-point lead in the second half against the Colts. Instead of standing pat and realizing that they were so close, they went out and upgraded the offense so they can keep pace with the other teams in the AFC. Brady now has weapons to throw to in Randy Moss and Dante Stallworth. For the other teams in the NFL, it’s sad news that Adalius Thomas was also added to an already stout defense. This team is predicted to win the Super Bowl by a lot of different outfits, and we have to say they are going to be tough to beat. New England wins the AFC East easily.

Second Place – 2007 Miami Dolphins Predictions – After going with defensive minded coaches in Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wannstedt, and Nick Saban the Dolphins decided go with someone with an offensive background in Cam Cameron. Cameron led the Chargers offense a year ago, and Miami is hoping he can have the same effect on their offense. The team added Trent Green to replace the often injured Duante Culpepper, and is hoping for more production out of Chris Chambers. Defensively the team was fine last year, but they aren’t getting any younger. Adding Joey Porter to a side that already had Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas will mean a lot of big plays. The team is talented enough to finish second in this division, but they’ll be outside of the playoffs looking in.

Third Place – 2007 New York Jets Predictions – The Jets had a miracle run last year and made the playoffs. Eric Mangini was deemed a genius and Chad Pennington earned the Comeback Players of the Year award. However, it seemed like everything went right that could go right for the Jets last season and a repeat of that great run is doubtful in our minds. The team went heavy on cornerbacks in the draft, maybe because New England seemed to be stock piling great receivers. The New York offense also gets a boost with the addition of Thomas Jones. Our major question mark is if Chad Pennington can stay healthy, since he’s been hurt for the majority of his career and is coming off a season in which he didn’t miss a game.

Fourth Place – 2007 Buffalo Bills Predictions – Buffalo looked pretty dreadful at times on the offensive side of the ball last year. The team is convinced that JP Losman is their man, and they got rid of Willis McGahee fearing he was going to be asking too much when his contract was up. Instead they’ll have rookie Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. Rookies tend to have a hard time holding up over the course of an entire first season if they are getting the majority of the carries. The defense was talented last year, but that was before losing their stopper Nate Clements to free agency along with London Fletcher and Takeo Spikes. Buffalo had a good season last year when they finished 7-9, they won’t be horrible this season, but after the Pats this division is marred with mediocrity and we think they are the worst of the bunch.
