After week 1 in the NFL we thought it was time to take a look at the top teams in the league.  There are going to be a lot of people quickly jumping on bandwagons for teams like the Ravens, Jets, and Saints, but we would hesitate.  There are other teams quickly forgotten like the Cowboys, Bucs, and Panthers.  The thing to remember is that week 2 is going to bring a whole new slate of games, disappointments, and surprises so buckle up.

We start with number 10 and the New England Patriots.  They looked rusty against Buffalo and do not have their top two receivers from a year ago, can they keep repeating the magic?

At number 9 we are going with the Philadelphia Eagles.  Yes it was only the Texans, but they look good without TO.  This is the team to beat in the NFC East.

With number 8 we are taking Seattle.  The defending NFC champs couldn’t get in the end zone against the Lions.  Losing Hutchinson from the line may be a bigger deal than everyone thought.

Jacksonville pulls in at the number 7 slot.  This team feels they don’t get any respect, but beating a team like Dallas convincingly will change that quickly.

Baltimore shoots up the rankings to number 6.  They were the most impressive but we won’t get carried away quite yet.

The Bengals are fifth on our list because they proved they could play a little defense against the Chiefs, and that quarterback of theirs is looking healthy and confident.

Atlanta played good enough against Carolina to move into number 4.  Mike Vick looked comfortable against a formidable Panthers defense which could mean big things in the NFC.

The Colts are 3rd, mainly because their ground game was non-existent in week 1.  We need to see some improvement heading into week 2.

The Bears are no. 2.  Can they keep up that dominance they showed against the Packers when playing an elite team?

Of course we are going to keep the Steelers on top of the list.  Somebody has to earn this spot by beating them, and if the Dolphins couldn’t do it with Charlie Batch leading the way it’s going to be tough to dethrone the champs.
