TCU is really on a role heading into this contest. They have won 6 straight games and 20 out of their last 23 overall. This Horned Frog defense is a big reason as to why the team has had so much success as of late. They are in the top 10 in scoring defense, total defense, and what could be important against Northern Illinois’s Garret Wolfe, run defense. This school is no stranger to the Bowl season either as they have made appearances 8 out of the last 9 seasons.
The Huskies struggled a little bit in the middle of the year but finished 7-5 and 5-3 in the MAC. The team is lead by Wolfe, who has put up 1,900 rushing yeards so far int he year. Northern Illinois finished the year with a couple of big victories, including one over the MAC West champions in Central Michigan. This team has been to bowls in 2 out of the last 3 years and have been above the .500 mark in 7 straight seasons.
For this game we are going to take the OVER. We know that the defense of the Horned Frogs is pretty tough, but we like Wolfe’s chances to pick up some yards on the ground. Both teams have been hot coming into this game and both teams put up a lot of points on average. When you are the first bowl game of the year and all eyes are on you, the coaches tend to pull out all of the stops.
